Hey, if you gotta go to the post office for something, this is one of the best locations that probably exist in the whole USA. Built in 1986 under the Reagan administration, the facility is still very, very nice and clean When you go in to the retail area and go to the counter, they are very easy to work with and will explain to you what the cost is for the type of mail service that you need or shipping options The only issue that we've ever had is somehow thieves have figured out how to grab stuff out of the outside blue mailboxes so I always walk my items into the main lobby and put them directly into the slot through the door to ensure that they're inside where the cameras are watching for any thieves It's mega convenient for me from my house and I usually am driving past there on my travels and errands It's part of what I like about living in Arlington read more

I rarely leave reviews for the post office but this one is needed. Ok so boom, it's the Tuesday before Christmas about 4:40pm. Everybody in the city is trying to send off last minute packages for the holiday. Of course I'm not crazy - sent my last package two Fridays back because I've seen how crazy it can get. However, my recent addiction to Amazon Prime has yielded me to this chaos. I needed to mail a return using first class priority (the stepsister of the mailing system). I didn't have any tape to close my box. Nervously I walked past the 12 people in line and asked the clerk for help. He said I'd have to pay for a roll UGHHH but then a ram in the bush came...he found some random tape thing and I was on my way. I'm giving 4 stars vs 5 because technically I didn't utilize any mail services but I will say that the guy was very friendly and helpful. I have been to this post office on several occasions simply because it's close to my house. Otherwise, I wouldn't go. I cannot express enough just how rude two of your ladies are at the front desk. For one thing, it's definitely understaffed but that is no excuse to be rude. That is not the customer's fault. They are bossy and give commands and don't even say hello. I went today to drop off about 30 small envelopes that were already postage paid. I asked if I could get a receipt and she laid into me for sitting a stack of 5 up on the counter for her to scan. Her exact words: "You need to give me one at a time!!! If you are wanting a receipt, then you can't just sit them all up here on the counter at once!!!" WOW! What happened to, "I'm sorry ma'am, would you mind handing me one at a time pls?" I was just shocked. It wasn't like I placed the entire stack on the counter. Then she proceeds to lay into 2 employees who walked up to help her how it's about time they are back because she had a line awhile ago that was out the door. Again, wow! No etiquette whatsoever. Just because your business is understaffed and puts you in a bad mood, you don't take it out on the customer or co-workers. I get this similar response 3X out of 5 visits that I make. Every once in awhile I get a friendly person who has manners but it's not often enough. I hope the office manager starts reviewing these employees and take note at how rude these two ladies are at the front desk and make a note on their job performance review. I know there are days that are rough, we all have them, but no excuse to snap at your customers. I can honestly say that every time I have been in there and one of them is working, they are ALWAYS lazy, bossy and rude. If an employee can't greet customers with a smile and ask how they can assist you in a polite manner, pls let them go or at least assign them a position in the far back by themself instead of a customer service position. read more

I never really have too many issues with this location except I try to stay away on Saturday mornings. I agree that they should have 2 people working the desk at all times, but when they don't they try to hurry along and are friendly while doing so. One deal breaker is the parking lot it is always crammed and not so easy to get in and out of onto Melear, or in and out of backing out the people it's always crowded. read more

They are awful. We had a package delivered from our son. Instead of bringing it to the door, they jammed it in our mailbox. This resulted in the wooden post that held our mailbox breaking off at ground level! when my husband too pictures of the overfilled mailbox laying on the ground to the post office, he was told that this was not proof the mail delivery person did it. i Wonder who they think jammed our mailbox that full??? I called this morning about an attempted delivery that needed to be signed for. The gentleman I spoke with said he would check on it and get back to me. He told me how to handle to sign portion of what I had been left as I had never done that before. He called me back early afternoon to let me know my envelope would be redelivered tomorrow as the carrier already had the signature card I left in the mailbox. He was very polite, helpful and prompt. I called earlier today and was told they are not delivering to certain areas for safety reasons (winter storm/icy dangerous roads), but my husband could go there to pick up our mail. I get informed delivery and there are bills and checks we NEED. He went and THEY LIED ON THE PHONE - they had TWO PALLETS of crated mail unopened just sitting there! For the last 7 times I had outgoing mail, after the mail was picked up, the flag was not lowered. This is unacceptable. As a former rural carrier and retired postmaster I'm appalled that something as simple as this doesn't seem to be getting taught. Went to mail a package via priority mail at this station. the display had perfect size box - "Box C" - but there were none that size on the shelves. In fact, the box C shelf had more Box B sizes on it. We refolded the item so that it would fit the smaller box and crammed it inside the smaller box. However, we discovered there was absolutely NO tape on the reels that are meant to hold tape for priority mail self-service customers who are mailing packages using priority mail boxes at the post office. The service line was about 20 people long with maybe 2 employees at the counter. So took it home, taped it with our own tape, got online, paid postage (over $17), printed label and taped it to package. Then took it back to the post office... All this after seeing ads about USPS as "new and improved." SERIOUSLY??? On return trip to post office, went to put package in priority mail slot and found it would not open (several people tried) ...so had to add package to huge wall of packages (more than 4' tall and 6' wide) that were sitting on the regular service counter. Maybe, there was a sign that said "package drop off"... packages there were neither secure nor protected, and anything on the bottom was subject to crushing... read more

The information that appears, that tracking number does not exist / is incorrect. But using the same number of tracking, it is possible to traking the box. For this, for tracking , the number is correct. But for complain the number is wrong... How wanderfull!! So i drove today, to a USPS office. In Usps, they told me I should make the complaint on the website. I informed they, that I tried do that, but the website does not work. They said then nothing could be done. That is my problem. So I decided to start recording a video. Because something does have to be made about that. I paid for the service. I want to receive perfectly. It was not free. That's a problem of them, yes. So they hid from me. Do not want to be filmed, said it was illegal / crime. After making the video, I followed to the police station of the city of Arlington, to explain everything that was happening with USPS. They gave me some contact sherifes that could, yes, help me. I took I was talking to the police, to ask if it was a crime film inside the USPS. The police told me is not. That people might not like to be filmed. However it was not a crime. They could not prohibit me from doing video because is not crime. I want to also inform you that I will until the bottom of the bottle, to solve my problem. I'll talk to sheriff, with police, making videos, online posts, I will go until the court. No matter what need. You'll have to solve this problem. If you are used to customers who do not care, or they end up silencing, to be so complicated to solve a problem with you (the USPS), I think you guys should know .... know that I'm not like that. This place is the epitome of slow. I called and was on "hold" for about 40 minutes. I got on my boyfriends cell phone and then got help in about 15 minutes. What the heck is up with that? Anyways, after I confirmed they had my package, I stood in a long freaking line, not to be helped, but to tell me that I need to be in another line to pick up my package which I never got a delivery slip in the first place. Nobody in this post office gives a damn about their job. They talk to you like you're garbage and treat you like you're wasting their time by asking them to do their job. God forbid. The last time I was there, the lady that was helping me disappared randomly while I was filling out a form. I stood there waiting while the other employees helped one person, then stood around joking and laughing and carrying on with each other. Once someone finally asked where the person who was helping me went, it had been at least five full minutes, and I was already googling where the next closest post office was. I grabbed my stuff and left, and went to the location in downtown Arlington. The lady that never smiles has fucked up at least two of my packages, once by crossing out the zip code and writing a different one; the package was returned to me a full month later due to "undeliverable address". The carriers are also CONSTANTLY marking things as delivered when they are not delivered; I'll go a whole day wondering where the hell my package ended up, then the next day its magically in my box. I am a disabled military veteran, I am always home and I keep close track of my packages, because they are ALWAYS being lost by this office's carriers. USPS is more concerned about competing with Amazon than they are with GIVING DECENT SERVICE. All of those half assed lazy bums need to be fired and replaced by people who appreciate that they have a government job with all major and bullshit holidays and Sundays off. I think they all know that they can't ever be fired because its a government job, and that's why they give such piss poor service. They could murder someone and still keep their jobs, and they know it. Just go to the downtown Arlington location, at least they don't act like you're disturbing their day by asking them to do their damn JOBS. read more

I have a problem with getting my packages, tracking shows delivered, but nothing ever does. I had a hold mail in place, they still delivered my mail while i was out of town for an entire week. Nobody on my street got mail for 3 solid days, but the supervisor swore it was cause he had 2 carriers in that area, I found that untruthful and disturbing because i never said what area before he snapped at me. I subscribe to four magazines : Food Network Magazine, Country Living, Consumer Reports, and In Style. Depending on my carrier, I may possibly get all four, as promised, by the publisher. The norm, however, is maybe getting them or not, and never on time. Once in a while, I get all four in one month. I'm a senior, on very limited income, and these magazines are part of my entertainment. I can't imagine what the Post Office does with them...who all gets to read them before I finally get them, and why is it so hard for them to deliver them to me, on time. My blood pressure shoots up every time, I see them at the grocery store, and I haven't received mine yet. It's supposed to be cheaper to subscribe, and more convenient, It isn't. I have the informed delivery app and June 10th it stated a "package" was unable to be delivered because of an access issue. I went to the office rue next day and was told it would be out for re-delivery. It did not show up, on Wednesday June 17th I go back up there and the lady behind the counter spends about two minutes in the back looking for it and says it's not there. I leave my number and am told a supervisor will call me by Saturday, never happens.... By this time I have found out it is a certified letter from the IRS pertaining to my stimulus payment.Thursday June 25th, for the third time I go up there and this time am told to ring the bell. A very polite young man says it looks as though the package is there, then about 5 minutes later I am informed they have sent it back. I ask for a supervisor to perhaps intercept the package and am met by a rude man named David J. who says they sent it back there is nothing we can or will do. If you could choose your post office I would no longer be a customer of this one. Horrible all around and has now cost me time and money.. I agree with previous reviewer, they are BAD. But my issue is with the carriers not the shop workers. My mail "typically" should be here by 10:30 at the latest, usually it is 9:30 though, several times after7:30pm. But our carrier seems to be off work more than on. And when your carrier doesn't come in your mail gets dropped to the bottom/last delivery of the day and will be an inexperienced carrier. We had to meet up and exchange mail before because so much was mis-delivered one day. If the carriers are too old or don't want the jobs let someone else have them that will enjoy it. I get a lot of packages from overseas and have been there multiple times to pick up things I couldn't get because I wasn't home. I've never been asked to show my id to pick them up because I had that pink slip. Well, I went there today to pick something up and these two old Indian guys, VERY rude and disrespectful, were like 'No, come back with your id later.' I understand that if it's the original procedure that I present my id, but their attitudes were very rude. Also, they never respond to the bell quickly.
