So beautiful inside and the food was delicious. Very fresh and savory. My server was super nice and welcoming.

I stopped in for lunch with a friend today to celebrate her birthday! We have spectacular service!! The server was so nice and gave my friend a slice of cake to celebrate at the end. He was attentive and so kind. We each ordered the small bowl of beef noodle soup, I love the portion size. It was perfect for lunch. And we shared the pork scallion pancake dim sum. The filling was really good, the pancake was ok. I will definitely be back with my family. I love the decor. Really chic and well thought out.

I ordered the two different varieties of dumplings, and when I got back to the hotel, I realized they gave me potstickers. 3 tiny potstickers for $10. Was too tired to take the food back down the street to complain.

2 Eggs with Kurobuta Pork Chop and Scallion Pancake

Service was quick, environment was nice and calm, food was good but a bit salty for Taiwanese cuisine. Not a lot of bang for your buck for the scallion pancakes but the 2 Eggs with Kurobuta Pork Chop was a big portion and was tasty.

Mei's literally just opened a day or so ago but will be a great addition to the area. The beautiful, stylish yet comfortable street level urban loft space has high ceilings and a large wall of windows overlooking Grant Park, with a combination of high top, standard and share table options, there are seating options for everyone. The Taiwanese inspired Asian fusion menu is diverse, the dishes were tried were all tasty and the food very reasonably priced for the portion size and quality of the food, decor, location and service. Mei's is running a "30% off" the menu price promotion through March 3 so check it out!

Found this place while in Chicago for the weekend. Loved the cucumber salad and the Xio long bao!

Very pretty decor, don't think it's Taiwanese restaurant, more like Asian Fusion, the XLB is excellent, authentic food.

Brothless Ramen? Sure, why the heck not! This is as far out of my comfort zone as I go, by the way…read more Now, Kajiken may be a chain, but that didn't stop the experience from being mind-blowing. A five-star experience by definition. I'd ordered Homura, and stepped away to wash my hands. Just as I was sitting down, the bowl of hot fresh goodness was placed in front of me. Even when the place was busy, the service remains lighting-quick! friendly and attentive too! As for the bowl, it was absolutely fantastic! Upon mixing, everything went together perfectly. The flavors were tremendously savory and rich, with accents from the egg, seasonings, veggies, and a healthy amount of meat. The noodles were cooked perfectly too! The bowl was perfect as is, and needed nothing. I was worried the bowl would be dry, but this couldn't be farther from the truth, especially with the ladle of liquid on the bottom, everything was perfect! Now, there are various seasonings and flavor enhancers on the table, but they weren't needed, in my opinion. If you do choose to add some, be careful, as some pour fast and heavy! After happily slurping this thing down in record time, I also ordered a single helping of Chashu, as I generally love it and wanted to try. It too was brought to me in no time, and was thin, well balanced, and melted in my mouth. Where it comes to value, the bowl was $13.50, and the slice of chashu was $1.50, IIRC. Great, especially in light of what everything costs nowadays. Final verdict: Kajiken came, and it DELIVERED. Everything from start to finish was top notch, and for a very fair value of $13.50 for a fresh, tasty, and filling bowl of goodness.

But the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice and clean, decorated with lanterns and a wood themed interior The ramen was pretty lackluster - the noodles were very tough and under done and the broth was less savory than I would've liked for a tonkotsu. The soba noodles were flavorful but also could've been cooked better. For a $20+ dish I felt the portions were disappointing, especially since I think I was missing some toppings Overall, id be down to eat here again and would probably have a better experience the second time around if dining in instead

We got seated almost right away, and no, the place does not take reservations, which could be a turn off for some, but it helped us out. The girls were all elated by their boba and had a variety of dishes from tofu medallions to sesame chicken. Both were excellent, and the portion sizes were large. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the place for large gatherings!

We went to sit inside. We got seated immediately we went during lunchtime it wasn't that crowded…read more We ordered the beef short rib soup and kimchi fried rice. As you can see in my picture there's no sign of a soup it's just noodles but in their menu it's called a soup. The noodles were garlic soy sauce noodle noodles. It was good! I had no complaints. The kimchi fried rice was very good as well too. The beef short rib is sweet and slightly lemongrass flavored. This whole meal is for the sweet and slightly savory palette. The garlic noodles honestly had way too much garlic on them. But once I ate it later in the day it was good. When you sit inside the price that you see on the menu will not be what you're charge you will be charged $23 instead of $16. Definitely clarify if that is the sizing price, we assumed we got dinner portions. You do get more than enough to take home. I will say about this place is if you do try something new you will have an interesting experience!
