I moved on 9/07/24 from North Phoenix to Sun City to be near my father. I posted a negative review of my service. The owner Brian contacted me in December and corrected the issue about arrival time. Just know they arrive early. Although my broken glass was long since thrown out Brian sincerely apologized about my experience and had a furniture repair specialist come fix the gash in the piano and china cabinet and I'm sure he paid a lot to have that done. I used this company because they did my father's short move from his house to an assisted living facility. He thought they were great! I moved from north Phoenix to his old house in Sun City. I had most things packed in boxes. They showed up almost an hour early... 6:40 am for 7:30 am schedule. They were friendly, moved fast, and got the job done. My issue is that it took three truck loads and the entire day to complete the move and they used rolling bins to throw everything in not boxed. This might work great for a short business move but mine produced a lot of damage. A bigger truck would have been much less stress. My piano and China cabinet got scraped and multiple glass pieces broke. Because my boxes had been in the garage for a while waiting to sell the house they said they saw scorpions. Under the boxes. They continued despite this. By the end of the day things were just getting slung and it was very hot. Good: timely, hard working, nice. Value! I got a previous estimate for $4500. They charged $2400. Probably good for local business move or smaller moves like my Dads. Not so good: rolling crates dumped full of my unpacked stuff. Truck not big enough and stuff still left after three trips. I think they just gave up! I had cold drinks and after they left bottles and cans everywhere. Good value but pack everything ahead and plan. The owner comes to give estimate but is not there for the move. Ask about truck size and how long the move will take. I'm an Air Force brat so this was a different experience for me! read more

They came from Phoenix to Yuma and I had everything all boxed up and ready to go. They came in, inventory everything that was going, loaded the whole truck up in about 45 minutes and they were back on the road again! They were very thorough and they knew exactly what they were doing. Communicated well with us. They made the move very painless! Great service, showed up on time, worked in a timely manner! I hired Miekle Moving to pack and load the contents of my house onto an interstate truck company, which then took my things across-country. The unloaders at the remote city, and my family and I, were horrified in finding the state of my furniture when it arrived. I even called Brian while they were unloading, to warn him about his packers' skills, and he basically said, (I'm paraphrasing) "Too bad. It's not insured unless you have pictures in the truck." Well, the unloaders after I arrived at my new location were so appalled that they started taking pictures the minute they saw the inside of the truck and continued to unload. It appeared that many of the items, including furniture, had just been tossed in. EVERY single piece of wood furniture had been gouged or damaged in some way. Two bookcases were entirely demolished. Several of the destroyed items were irreplaceable heirlooms from my family - a kitchenette set, some dishes (packed together without paper between the pieces), heirloom vases, and more. Brian had insisted that I buy packing blankets and swore they'd use them. So I spent over $500 on them, and they used very few of them, then didn't even pack them so I could (per Brian) sell them at my destination. They didn't even use them on my stainless steel refrigerator (using some sort of cellophane instead), which then left the refrigerator dented and scratched, "ready" to put into my new kitchen that had all new appliances, countertops, and flooring). It cost over $3000 to replace it. Brian obviously didn't want me to file an insurance claim, describing what a horrible process it was, and how strict it was. If I hadn't been recuperating from a 5-month illness, I would have filed a claim (and wish I had). He tried to settle for $1000. I did settle for the price I had paid him for the packing, ($1800, which covered about 1/4 of what my items were worth, and much less than that considering replacement cost.) The saddest part for me is that 10 months later I still have daily reminders of this painful event. read more

Moving during a Pandemic and moving my grandparents from 1 assisted living facility to a Memory Care Unit. Only was given a 5 hour window to get this done..... Can one say panic, as this was an essential move. 1st Phone call was to Brian, absolutely amazing with working what I had which did include 1 grandparent with Dementia and would most likely tell the movers to get out of his house. Brian assured me everything would be ok..... Fast forward to "moving day". My time was adjusted for what would work for us which was a 9am arrival time rather than their usual 7am slot. Movers arrived at 8:40am Lameer (msp) and Chris were so comforting and letting me know they have this all taken care of. We were no where really ready to move as we couldn't pack everything due to not wanting to upset my grandfather. They both helped us just get everything together so it would be less on us. DO NOT HIRE MEIKLE MOVING!!!! I spoke with Brian, the owner, and scheduled a move for my mother in law from independent living to memory care at the same facility. Set the move for 12:30 pm. Got a call at 9 am saying they were on their way. I said no, we weren't ready and wanted the set appointment. Was told it would be 2:30 pm instead. They called again at 2:45 saying 3:30 instead. Meanwhile we moved her things ourselves with help from really wonderful staff at the facility. I called the owner twice, first time he whined about how difficult scheduling was, second time it went to voicemail where I canceled. Front desk staff reported the movers showed at 4pm and when she told them we had canceled they were pleased and said they could go for a beer early. Can't say enough good things about Meikle Moving. It was my first time paying for movers and they came highly recommended from a friend. The cost was very reasonable, the two movers that came to get my furniture were prompt, speedy, and very careful. The only negative (and it really isn't a negative about them) was when their truck broke down on the way to my new place. The owner, Brian Meikle, provided an estimate for a pack-out service during a home renovation and he was professional, but that was the last we saw of him. The 1st crew sent to pack us up consisted of 2 gentlemen. They worked quickly, but seemed to want to take as little with them as possible. We explained to the gentlemen when they arrived that the floors in the home were being replaced so everything in the rooms had to go. However, the more senior guy continually asked for confirmation on nearly everything; rugs, the television, furniture, etc. He also insisted we keep anything electronic or delicate; the TV, cable devices, the wine fridge, all the wine bottles, the toaster oven, etc. However, these were all things that had been included in the original estimate and I was led to believe Meikle could accommodate all the items. After they departed, we realized they had left behind quite a bit; all the pictures on the walls (never asked about them), garbage cans, our ironing board, etc. In the end, we still had a room full of stuff we had to temporarily store while the floors were done which is exactly what we were paying to avoid. The crew that arrived approximately 10 days later to return our furniture consisted of 3 men, including the more senior guy from the previous visit. Again, they worked quickly but only 1 of the 3 (the oldest gentleman) seemed to have any sense of work ethic or interest in doing a decent job. They plopped the couch haphazardly within the room, cushions strewn about. When I instructed the youngest gentleman where to place it, he slid it along my brand new floor scratching and scraping along until I walked over and picked up the other side to prevent any further damage. (I'm over 5 months pregnant and should NOT be lifting couches, BTW). This continued and I had to watch them very closely or they would just drop things in the middle of the living room and go back for the next item rather than ask me where the item belonged, all the while I was wiping down dusty furniture and reattaching shelves they had disassembled. I had them stack the packed boxes in my guest bedroom so I could unpack them later and discovered that they had stacked heavy boxes full of books on top of nearly empty boxes, crushing them. One crew member informed me that he did not know how to handle gas dryers (which is odd because he was the same guy who disconnected it 10 days before), and he called in a 2nd member for support. That guy asked me if my husband was 'handy' and could perhaps handle the reconnection on his own. I said 'no', and he proceeded to tinker around behind the dryer, intermittently asking me if I could smell gas. Upon completion he warned me that if I smell gas going forward, to get out of the house. I was unable to supervise the 2 guys who reconnected the duct work on the dryer, but when I entered the laundry room after they had departed, a piece of the original duct work was laying on the top of the washing machine and the dryer was sitting in nearly the middle of the laundry room because the duct pipe is arranged so poorly behind the dryer. They also left the washer hoses in a tangled mess behind the washer and it will no longer fit nicely in the corner where it used to. Needless to say I have called my handyman, who originally installed both the washer and dryer to come fix their mess and return the appliances to their original state. Incidentally, my 6 month old washer was returned with scuff marks down the side of it but in light of everything else - I'm just happy it's working. Finally, the returning crew member concluded things with highly unprofessional and inappropriate conversation about the number of children he has and how 'broke' he is - clearly an attempt to secure a tip...yea, right. read more

Amazing that I am now accused of being the scammer. Of course put them blame on the victim. Read ALL the reviews for this company before choosing them. I am not the only person that has had something stolen. Sure, the contract says they are not liable for cash but that still does not justify the mover/ worker taking my money. The drawer that had the money in it was opened to put the shrink wrap knot in it. As the owner stated my husband did not know the money was there so I know he did not take it. It was there on Wednesday and we moved on Saturday. I didnt take it.. so where did it go? I know where it went, right in the movers pocket. I went as far as to ask thus company that I wanted to confront the mover in person, well that never happened. Why not??? Amazing... Call me the scammer if you like because that is the only saving grace for a bad mark against your company, but the truth is, I know who took the money. Meikle Moving moved my elderly mother-in-law a few days ago. Prior to the move, an estimate was done in person at her home... so there were no surprises. It was quite a shock that the actual charge was more than 50% higher than the estimate! The guys were polite and very careful with her things, thank you! This company was referred to me by a friend, she said they were wonderful, and that was an understatement. The owner was very friendly and helpful on my initial call, and straight to the point about costs (very reasonable!) The crew arrived right on time and only after a fews day notice. They were nice and professional and got right to work. I believe my daughter forgot to tell them about her dresser (since they were only moving certain pieces out of each room out and some was staying) and I must have missed it when they asked me to do a final walk through, but after they left the job I called the owner who was very apologetic and assured me he would get the dresser to me today. The crew came back by after next job and moved dresser for me with a smile, also very apologetic. This is the best moving company I have ever used and best price also! Then proceeded at 10 mph over the speed limit west bound on Northern Ave. The driver then tailgated me, and almost rear-ended me. He then passed me and yelled at me as he passed. This is a great local moving company. Family owned, great prices, great service. They moved both us and our neighbors in DC Ranch on the same day and did an awesome job. Their people are friendly and careful---they actually offer a packing service (we didn't pack ANYTHING) and nothing was broken. They even packed the food in the pantry and fridge. We have a huge and valuable art collection which was extremely well taken care of. Moved us to near Fountain Hills (the other side of the world for them) and then came and picked up all of the boxes, wardrobes and blankets. If you're moving locally (ask them about out of town moves) they will be thousands less than any of the "major" moving companies. And, by the way, they had to store our stuff for two weeks between the move out and move-in. Again, everything showed up in perfect condition and their people worked diligently and carefully throughout. A definite 5 star recommendation. read more

However, in September 2015 we called to get a quote to move to another location, and when I mentioned that I have been price shopping Brian told me "I didn't know you were going to price shop, let me make this easy for you, go with the other company", he was very unprofessional and rude, all because we priced him out against competitors.
