This place was an AMAZING find while visiting Canada. Some of the best vegan food I've ever had was at this Vancouver restaurant. Great atmosphere inside and I really enjoyed everything I ate. Would recommend! read more

So...I went to this restaurant not knowing it was a vegetarian one, and I'm not entirely sure how to rate this because of that but I'll start off by saying it surprised me. The waitress was polite, entering inside the restaurant has a sense of coziness and comfort, two things I enjoyed. I start reading the menu and notice that the "Chickun Waffles" were made with mushrooms and not chicken."Cool, they have options for vegetarians as well" I thought. I ordered a Yerba Maté iced tea drink and I liked the spices and sweetness of it, they have a lot of good options for non-alcoholic drinks. Now for the good part, I ordered the Crispy BBQ burger with a side of poutine and took a bite of both. The gravy on the poutine tasted mushroom like, and then halfway through the burger the stars started to align. The mushroom "Chickun waffle", the fact that it was titled "MeeT" and that something was definitely off with my food, the patty was a little less fatty, a little more salty and overall didn't taste "right" and then I came to the realization that this was probably a vegetarian restaurant which was confirmed by looking at yelp. I can't say I liked it but I was able to finish it without complaining. 5/10 from a guy who was expecting a beef burger. Overall, I'd say it was an experience, not an amazing one since I wasn't expecting this kind of food, but an interesting one. I went based on a quick look at trip advisor and didn't notice anything saying it was vegetarian, nor did I see such things on the website so I would have preferred it being a little more obvious, but I admit fault. If I went here again, I would probably order something like the berry waffles. read more

I ordered takeout, so I can't speak to ambiance or service, but - holy moly - everything I ordered was unbelievably delicious! The sweet chili cauliflower was crispy and spicy and top notch. The poutine was a revelation... and that's saying something! But the unequivocal winner was the rocky road ganache tart. It's the best dessert I had all year. Thanks for showing a traveling vegan a good time, Vancouver! read more

THIS IS A VEGAN RESTAURANT. This place seems fine IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR VEGAN FOOD. It's for some reason masked as a "food for everyone" place which is odd because some of us are looking for meat. Yes, I saw the name, but "meet" is also a term for gathering. The restaurant's categories on yelp says "comfort food" and "burgers." Even on the menu there is no indication that the burgers are vegan. It just says like "house made burger", and we asked our server about it when she said it was vegan, which is insanely frustrating as someone who had a very specific training/eating plan for the Vancouver marathon. The service was good, but the company I was with just got a drink and then we left shortly after. Would give one star, but honestly the place probably doesn't suck if you know what you're getting yourself into. Extremely misleading and disappointed. read more

This is VEGAN!!! We came looking for an authentic poutine and ended up here due to yelp reviews not realizing it's vegan. While visiting Vancouver with my Vegan son, we tried vegetarian restaurants all over the city and this was one of theee best we enjoyed our entire trip. We knew when we saw 15 people waiting in line to get in that there'd be great food ahead! Finding vegan food that is creatively prepared and presented is a great joy for us herbivores! We had a Cauliflower appetizers that was amazing and we kept asking what other diners were receiving as all these gorgeous plates floated by. Get thee to Meet! read more

Love when we find new vegan restaurants in new places! My husband came across it while out for a walk in Vancouver, I was back at our room with a cold. He said people were lined up outside waiting to get in. We went the next day. Got there when they first opened so no lines. Nice menu with lots of choices, lots of different burgers and as we saw orders coming out, everything looked really good. We shared a salad with nuts and edamame with a miso ginger dressing that was delicious. We also got the Cauliflower that was done like a tempura style, also delicious but we ate it so quick, forgot to get a pic! Sorry. read more

The MeeT restaurant group is a great example of how operating on a front-of-house tip pool system can really hurt guest experience in a restaurant. It's also a great example of owner/operators and managers who have a big passion for food (and it shows) but not about incredible service. The food is always incredible - the best you can get for vegan comfort classics, new innovations, and fun specials! The cocktails are always great too, with equally tasty non-alcoholic options. While I'm talking about my experience I had today, please note this has honestly been every single time I've patronized any of their Vancouver locations over the last 8 years. Today, our server was super checked out. (a brunette with pink streaked long hair, and has eyelash extensions with a little pink in them as well). No introduction, so we have no idea what their name was. There were no quality checks on our food, no polite and friendly conversation. They never once tried to recommend additions to our food, which clearly hurts sales. They asked if we wanted our bills right away, ignoring our 1/2 full drinks and if we'd even want dessert. When we paid cash, and asked for our change back, they brought the change back without our bill. How the heck are we supposed to know if they gave us the right amount of change? Especially since they don't seem like they really know what's going on. Plus, it meant we didn't get to see their name on our bill. My friend ordered brunch which was supposed to come with a side of parm potatoes. They came out with no parm. We politely asked for a little side of the parm, thinking the kitchen or expo missed it, but were then told that they were out of it. As someone who's worked FOH in restaurants for years and years, it's common knowledge that you'd either 86 parm potatoes, or let the staff know to ask the guest if it's okay that they don't have parm. If we'd have been told, we definitely would've just asked for fries instead, as their fries are legendary! Every time we come in, the waitstaff team is entirely different. Seriously. And we come in often. This place is a constant revolving door. The managers are always sitting in a booth or at a table, on their computers or texting. Today, a busy Tuesday lunch service, there were two of them. No matter the time of day, you never see them doing any table touches, quality checks, waters, etc. Just again an overall indifference towards service. I could keep going; honestly, just know that every time I go here it's always for the food and never the service. That's always such a huge letdown. read more

Only this location (currently at least) now offers brunch everyday from 11am-4pm, so we had to try it out. Pretty gigantic brunch menu with all sorts of creative items. I ordered the Steak & Mushroom Benny ($16.75 plus tax) and my wife ordered the B.E.S.T. (Bacun, English muffin, Sausage & Tofu egg) Breakfast Sandwich through DoorDash, and our order was delivered in about half an hour -- awesome. Massive portions, as Meet has become known for. The Benny was an explosion of flavour from the "steak" (soycurls), sauteed mushrooms, crispy onions, and tofu egg, with a really thick, decadent hollandaise sauce. You get two massive bennies, so this alone would be enough to fill you up. The dish also comes with salad and an emorious portion of home fries. The salad is fine, with a very pungent dressing (you need less than half of what they give you), and the home fries were battered and mega-deep fried -- honestly, I didn't like these fries -- way too oily/greasy and heavy. But the bennies themselves were delicious. Same deal with the B.E.S.T. -- a pretty decadent sandwich with the bacun, sausage and egg -- which also comes with the same side salad and fries. Overall, this is really heavy, greasy, salty food. It's a treat once in a while and the execution is very good on the main parts of the dishes. I'd rather some nice roasted breakfast potatoes or at least something less heavy/greasy. Reasonably priced for the portion. Glad that Meet exists and is doing such interesting stuff. Recommended. read more

the restaurant is located in a beautiful side alley with a patio and great indoor seating I went here for the weekly special: musubi donburi with Omnipork. The service was great, very kind and friendly. The food was medicore- the special was 19$ and the portion was quite small. I have to admit I didn't like the Omnipork - it wasn't seasoned and not crunchy or chewy just a little bit warm and not flavored. The pineapple with salsa wasn't for my liking either. I liked the steamed edamame (could have been steamed a bit longer though) and avocado. Ginger was quite much in comparison to the other ingredients. All in all their special wasn't something to recommend but I hope the other dishes on the regular menu will be better. Was a small portion especially for this price read more

I wish I could say I got the chance to try the food here at MeeT in Gastown, as my friends and I were really looking forward to it. The restaurant was around 1/4 of the way full at around 11AM on a Sunday, we were excited to see that there were plenty of seats available and we wouldn't have to wait long to be seated. We were wrong! We waited for fifteen minutes before anyone from the restaurant acknowledged our presence (mind you, we were a group of four) and even then they aimlessly walked past us saying "someone will be with you shortly" before heading to the back. Shortly turned into another fifteen minutes until someone else came to inform us that "the wait would probably be 20-25 minutes longer because they were understaffed." We totally get having limited capacity due to staffing issues but the lack of communication was a huge downfall here! If you're the understaffed, erase your "Please wait here to be seated" sign from your chalkboard at the front to "Expect longer wait times due to staffing issues" so that you aren't leaving potential customers high and dry. read more

This was one of my first stops after arriving in Vancouver. We arrived soon after they opened and it was already crowded so I just placed a carry out order. The hostess was very nice to us and offered water and a table for us to sit while waiting on my order. I ended up coming back and dining in the next evening. I did not enjoy our table service, as the waitress (a different lady than the day before) was indifferent and too busy talking to her friend at another table than she was tending to her tables. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our food both times. On to the food... DOUBLE DOUBLE: I ordered this burger without any cheeses. It was very delicious! SWEET CHILI CAULIFLOWER: It was ok. HOT CHIGGIN' THINGS: Pretty good version of hot wings. SATAY SAUCE & SPICY MAYO FRIES: Baaaaby! The pictures that I took turned out crappy. Partially, because of their dimmed lighting in the evenings, and partially because I didn't really want to stop eating to take the pictures. These vegan poutine fries were amazeballs! The sweet satay, coupled with spicy mayo made for some serious deliciousness. SALTED CARAMEL ICE CREAM: A tasty vegan frozen treat with a pretty presentation. My omnivore cousin ordered Artichoke & Spinach Dip along with a Mojito, and she loved them both. Despite the horrible service received by the waitress on visit #2, I really liked MeeT, and would definitely return again. read more

Of all the vegan desserts I've tried from a variety of places, the one I'll most come back to is the chocolate coconut ganache tart from here. I ordered via Uber Eats as a late night treat, and this did not disappoint. It was packaged beautifully and when I opened the box, the chocolate and mint combined created such a pleasant aroma. The tart itself is absolutely delicious. Everything about it tied perfectly together. The chocolate ganache was just the right amount of sweet, and when paired with the shredded coconut and vanilla creme drizzle, it was like heaven for your mouth. Even the crust offered a standout flavour of coconut with a soft texture that fit with the rest of the dessert well. Each individual aspect had a delicious flavour and shined all on its own while combining together as a whole flawlessly. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking out this treat. If you're not, make some time to! It's worth it. read more

Awful experience. My friends and I went to have breakfast here as we heard about how "good" the food and service are. Wrong. We waited for close to 20 minutes to be seated, and after we were seated waited another 30 minutes for someone to take our order before we ultimately decided to pack up and leave. We even tried flagging down different servers, all who ignored us and served or took the orders of other people in the restaurant. The entire restaurant (indoor and patio) had approximately 5 groups of people dining, with the majority of tables being empty. Maybe we would have gotten served if we had waited another hour or two, but unfortunately, we didn't have the time to sit there and be treated with disrespect. read more

Went twice in one weekend for their weekly feature. I've been to the Main St. & the Yaletown location many times but I rarely come to the Gastown one. The staff is super friendly. I love how they expanded their patio outside. Much more space now to enjoy your meal Al Fresco. I had the Caesar salad with kalamarifor the first time ans it was really delicious, it was topped with a vegan tzatziki. Yum! Their Mac & Cheeze is packed with so much flavour. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical when coming here but I gotta say they exceeded my expectations. I was expecting the food to be bland, but everything we ordered was pretty tasty. To start off our meal we ordered the artichoke spinach dip and sweet chili cauliflower. The dip had a smooth creamy texture, although I thought it could have used just a touch more salt. The cauliflower was fried perfectly, but I wasn't too fond of the sweet chili sauce. As for my main, I ordered the Lovely bowl and substituted the brown rice for quinoa. The dish was surprisingly filling and very flavorful. The dining area had a cool, casual, hipster vibe. Service was very good and friendly. I would recommend checking this place out if you are in the mood for something on the lighter side. read more

Food was good but the service was bad. There was stuff floating in my water and when I brought it to the attention of my server, she said it was water bubbles. I don't have time to write the review that this restaurant deserves, but I'll start by saying that I don't ever recall a time where a restaurant was so good that I want to try everything on their extensive menu. I just discovered this restaurant and I've only tried two dishes... The Macro (marinated tofu) and today, the Ginger Beefless bowl. BOTH 10/10! The only extra that I added was a little hot sauce. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff are the friendliest in Vancouver. MeeT, you're doing everything right. I selfishly wish you a very long and successful stay. I'll do my part by working my way through your menu. Your "chicken" and waffles will have to wait until I earn it by working out in the gym for, at least, a week. Strange?? Why are the waffle dishes missing from your online menu? I'm looking on eatmeet.ca. read more

Having recently moved to a meat free diet I was excited to check out the Vancouver veg scene. MeeT caught my eye because of its famed burgers. So the dude and I scampered up to the city for lunch. We were seated quickly on a Saturday, and eagerly perused their menu of tempting sounding meatless creations. We decided to share an appy of their Hot Chiggin and then a BBQ Burger with fries and a salad. The appy came out and they weren't kidding. This bad boy was HOT. Luckily I love spicy, cuz it definitely lived up to its name. The texture of the Chiggin was amazing. I would have thought I was eating real chicken if I didn't know otherwise. But the sauce was so salty I had to scrape much of it off. (And I'm normally a salt fiend.) Next came the burger, and this beauty was dressed to impress. It even had a steak knife jammed through it for full effect. The burger was really really delicious. Again, it was so meat-like it definitely satisfied any craving we had for the real thing. It was also topped with (vegan) cheese and - again (sadly) - a house made BBQ sauce that was over-the-top salty. Luckily they were quick with the water refills, as I ended up drinking three glasses while we were there. The service was efficient and really friendly. Our server was happy to answer our questions about the menu, and quickly brought our check when we realized our meter was about to expire. I'll definitely come here again. Hopefully not all of their dishes are so salty. read more

I got the sense from visiting Vancouver that Canada is a bit of a meat and potatoes country, not a giant head of lettuce like Los Angeles is. So it was a complete surprise that there was a SOLID vegan place when we were visiting VNC and that is was our favorite meal during our entire trip! The prices are extremely reasonable ($12-15 for entrees approx) especially given the huge portions and fresh quality. I can't believe my bf's veggie burger came with fries AND a salad. Plus the salad was freshly made with house grated carrots and beets not out of a bag like they often do it in LA. My macro bowl was massive and definitely goes in the "I can't believe it's vegan" files: didn't miss the meat for a second. Our server was amazingly nice and helpful even tho we came in half an hour before closing. When I told her we were from LA, she commented that she can't wait to move there one day because LA has the best vegan food. I think this place in Gastown Vancouver it's just as good or better than what I've had in LA. They do late night happy hour with $4-6 beers and $5 small bites. Check out the Gastown steam clock nearby! read more

*Reviewing as an avid meat eater who came with friends who wanted vegan/gluten free options. * From a carnivores POV, MeeT has the hipster-happening vibe that makes for good chilling out with friends for drinks and appies. At under $10, they have your usual cocktails made well and strong. Their deep fried Cauliflower with Sweet Chili Sauce is also pretty tasty and good way to get some veggies in your diet. However, not a fan of their mains. Had their Portobello Burger the first time I came and though I like mushrooms, the huge 1pc portobello dominated the whole burger and I was literally eating a giant mushroom between 2 buns and couldn't taste any sauce or other flavors. So I opted not to go with a burger this time and tried their Mac N Cheese with cashew cheez. Props for it being a giant, very filling bowl of Mac, but can't say I enjoyed the taste after several bites. I was alternating between bites of my Cauliflower appie and bites of the Mac to get some flavor in there. Overall, if I had to hangout for vegan/vegetarian food with friends, I wouldn't object to MeeT. But I would stick to drinks and appies, and grab a meat burger elsewhere after. Location is also a tad hard to find as it's tucked inside a courtyard off the main road (Water St) so be on the lookout for signage saying "MeeT" with an arrow directing you where to go. read more

I'm trying to slowly transition to a plant based diet and MeeT is one of my favourite places to get plant based food in the city. Simply because it doesn't taste like your eating plant based dishes. A couple things that I've gotten from MeeT that I've loved: + Angry Burger (I get this w/ the beyond meat veggie patty) + Sweet Chili Cauliflower (fave appy) + Chiggin Things (second fave appy) + All their poutine (their regular poutine takes the crown for me though) + Hot Chiggn Caesar Salad (so freaking delicious) + Mac N Cheese Bowl Everything I've tried, I've loved. Even when I was eating meat I still loved coming here because everyhting is so delicious and filling. For the prices you're paying, the portions are very generous and the quality of the food is always consistent. Since it's in the heart of Gastown, parking is really, really annoying. Luckily when I come to eat at MeeT I'm usually taking transit. If you are driving down, there's a couple parking garages close by or theres street parking a few blocks away. Service has always been prompt and friendly. Plus, they give really great recommendations. This place is usually busy on the weekends and in evenings. This is the spot for vegetarians who want 'fast food' (Burgers, chips, nachos etc). How can you not like this joint especially if no animals were harmed in your consumption of such satisfying food. Portion size and fries that came with the burgers are good. I got the mucho gusto burger. It's messy as it has guac so definitely the fork and knife kind of burger. A friend had the burger with mac and cheese which wasn't bad either. Both burgers didn't taste like vegetarian/vegan or 'healthy'. Most of the time GF bread/buns taste like cardboard and 'healthy' food has an earthy taste to it but not at this place so thumbs up. Also had the buffalo chiggins (deep fried tofu drenched in Franks hot sauce). This was a disappointment as the portion size for this is actually quite small. Good but not $9.25 good. This place is super busy. We waited over 40mins for our burgers. Plus another 15-20mins for a table. Tables are very close to each other and it doesn't have enough space for strollers. read more

MeeT in Gastown was exactly what my girlfriend and I were looking for after a busy Saturday, and while I made an attempt at spoiling the evening by spilling a full beer all over everything, the food, service, and atmosphere shone through to make a solid experience. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? You've got really great folks at MeeT who are friendly and snappily responsive even when things get crowded like they were at 4P on a Saturday. My spilled beer was replaced right away at no charge and my mess cleaned up promptly. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? MeeT isn't cheap, but it's also not unreasonable. My butter chicken was $14.00 but the portion was hefty. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? As advertised, the Sweet Chili Cauliflower was highly addictive and wonderfully flavorful, and my Butter Chicken was equally good. I wasn't always, but I'm becoming a fan of vegan food that tricks me into thinking it's 'real'. Dual Stars. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? MeeT is great, but there are simply too many comparable spots in Vancouver to crown MeeT with a fifth star. No Star. read more
