A very happening hip vegetarian place tucked in btn water Street and blood alley. As a non vegetarian, I went with my friend Connie. It was our first time at MeeT. Did not to think how busy it was on a Wednesday night. The service was good and friendly. Decor was funky. Upcycling school chairs as restaurant chairs. Bringing back memories of highschool band chairs. Loved the natural lighting. Food was good I enjoyed the double cheese burger 4/5*. Sweet chili cauliflower was a 3/5*. Flavor was good but it was missing something. Great idea. All in all enjoyed the night hanging out there before a movie. read more

I came in on a Tuesday during my lunch break (which is only an hour) at 12pm and I was able to get in and out very quickly, the restaurant looked like it was starting to fill up as I was leaving. I heard this place was good and had just opened up in Gastown, didn't realize til after that it was a vegetarian restaurant! I ordered the double bacon double cheese burger with a side of chilli cheese fries, the portions were quite large. The chili cheese fries were layered with sauce all the way down which was great, but my burger patty was falling apart and the Kaiser bun it came on didn't help that either. For a vegetarian restaurant, the burger tasted like a regular meat patty but the bacon did not, nonetheless all the flavours were there and they all balanced very well. The atmosphere was very nice, I liked that everything looked kind of hand built. The service was just regular, I have nothing to complain about, they came when we needed them, checked up on us and filled our water at appropriate times. Food: 3/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Service: 4/5 I would definately give this place another shot as there were quite a few more things on the menu that caught my eye, especially with their quick service and it being so near to my workplace. Their dessert menu with the cronuts, ganache and cheesecake also looked intresting, I just didn't have the time for them today. read more

MeeT - Mac n Cheese Burger & Double Bacon Double Cheese Burger with a side of Chili Cheese Fries - Burgers Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Went on a busy Saturday. We ordered the artichoke dip and two of the bowl entrees. The dip was fine but waited over 45min for our main course. After the third table nearby that was seated after us but was served before our main dish arrived we asked for an update on our food. We were told that "it was being plated" and should be out shortly. Two more tables were served so we asked for the bill and left. Yes you are busy but this was extremely poor service. read more

The place itself is very aesthetically pleasing and pleasant to eat at. The waiters were very kind. The bathrooms are clean and great quality. We sat outside and ordered their MeeT signature burger and it was absolutely delicious, it certainly gave Beyond Meat burgers a run for their money. It was extremely filling with a great smokey flavor and it came with a salad and fries as well. We also ordered the Seoul Bowl which was scrumptious. I couldn't tell you a single negative thing about my experience here, not even the price because each of the dishes we ordered lasted for two meals. The food came very fast consitering how packed the restaurant was at the time and taste-wise these were some of the best vegan dishes I've ever had. I wish I lived in the area, it'd certainly be my go-to restaurant! Update: stopped by again and had their Oyster Mushroom Kalamari and Noodle-y Thai. THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. This is easily my favorite vegan restaraunt. We may come to Vancouver again just to eat here again! Is there any way to give six stars? read more

I've been to Meet on Main with my husband, who has turned Vegan. It can be hard for us to go out and eat. You wouldn't believe how many places can only offer a salads for vegans. Even the fries are fried in animal lard at most places. We had such a great time being able to order anything off an extensive menu without any stress. Our service was great, and everything we ordered tasted amazing. Meet in Gastown however - The food was great (as expected) - but as for the restaurant organization... the right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing. It may have been an off night, but we waited over 2 hours to get our food!! We were hungry to start, so having to wait that long made a nice date night turn sour. We kept it cool until 90 mins later when hanger set in. It was horrible that it took three attempts to locate our food, and finally we had to have an uncomfortable confrontation with the server to get the manager to come over. If anyone is waiting two hours to even receive an appetizer you would think a manager would be talking to those customers at their tables, letting them know the issue and handing out gift certificates or some type of compensation for the hungry patrons. The only compensation we received from the manager was our appetizer comped, and no explanation for the delay, except that the kitchen is backed up. I never knew fries and onion rings took two hours in the fryer!? She didn't seem to care that we had to feed the parking meter twice - or that we had two dogs waiting at home - Horribly Handled. For that reason I will likely refrain from going back to the Gastown location, and I will warn others the same. read more

I am not a vegetarian/vegan, but I could totally get used to this! I spent the evening with my vegetarian friend and I had suggested to her that we go to Meet as I had heard so many great things about the restaurant, and this location was much easier to get to than the Main st. one! We got there at about 6:30, which was a good time because it got incredibly busy afterwards. We waited about 10 minutes before we got a cozy table, and a server attended to us right away. I ordered the mac and cheese and my friend had the organic quinoa and roasted yam salad. The food was DELICIOUS! This was probably my favourite vegan mac and cheese to date, better than other places. Super flavourful, not too overwhelming, and tastes just like regular mac and cheese! I was also appreciative of the broccoli that they hid in the bottom to break up the pasta noodles. Cute location, wonderful atmosphere, and the weather was perfect so they opened up the glass walls to one side of the restaurant to let the fresh air in. My only thing was that it was a bit loud, so if you want a place to really talk to someone or catch up, Meet might be a bit loud for you. Other than that, highly, highly recommend this place! I hope to return again soon and make a trip out to their Main st. location! Thank you Meet for a great experience! read more

Love, love, love. Great atmosphere, food is always delicious and hot. I've had the poutines, mac n cheese, chili, it's great every time. Kombucha is yummy too. Lots of gluten-free options, everything is vegetarian or vegan. This is another place that I often bring friends from out of town, they always comment that they want to go back if they return to Vancouver. Even my carnivore husband likes it here! In fact, the first time we went I didn't tell him it was all vegetarian and vegan, and he didn't notice that the burger patty wasn't real meat until I told him. My sister, who professes to "hate tofu" was also fooled by the faux chicken in their poutine. So I guess if you want to prank a meat lover, this is the place to do it. read more

This was my second time here and once again it was a terrific experience with awesome food. Service is super friendly and I really enjoyed the laid back feeling. I appreciated the atmosphere and the fun music playing was not overly loud or annoying. No problems having a normal conversation. Full bar with many beers on tap is great but really the highlight is the terrific food. Original burgers, delicious house made fries, great salads and generous portions arrive surprisingly quickly. Prices are standard for pub style but the food is infinitely better. All food is vegan but the carnivores in your group won't know or care and non-vegan cheese is apparently an option. Just a few minutes walk to Rogers Arena makes this a perfect place for a pre-show meal or drinks. I didn't have the chance to try any of their original cocktails but they looked good. As a long time vegan, I really appreciate safe havens like this that seem to be popping up more and more. I easily recommend this restaurant. read more

Pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed my meal. The sweet chili battered cauliflower was very tasty. The beet salad was good. Nice drink menu. Service was good. It lost one star because of the lack of ambience... it is so very loud that a conversation is challenging. read more

I've been to MeeT twice and I like it much. On both visits I received a friendly greeting and invitation to sit. The menu is great. Lots of options for the veggie-centrist. I asked several questions about the composition of various items and my questions were answered with enthusiasm. That was unexpected and much appreciated. Lots of water was provided, water glasses kept full. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that especially on a hot day. Water is sacred. MeeT is a very busy place and the servers work the room so well, they seemed like a team of people who actually cared about each other and this translated into their care of the guests. First visit, I had chilli. It was tasty, homemade flavours, filling and full of veggies. We shared cauliflower, also tasty. Second visit, we both had daily soup, a delicious pea and mint veggie combo. It was excellent. And we shared artichoke and spinach dip with tortilla chips. Dip had good flavour, chips we pretty good too. I will be back... read more

Perhaps my expectations were too high given the good reviews, but my experience was terrible. Environment: It's trendy - which means small tables, cramped tables/seating, and loud ambience, especially with music playing. I get it that they are trying to maximize the number of seats, but I do prefer a little more distance from my neighbour and don't like to have to turn sideways to get in between tables. Challenge #1 - coffee (kinda bland, definitely not Starbucks) was ok, but only sweetening option was raw sugar. No stevia or other non-sugar option. If I had that I would never be able to squeeze out from in between the tables. Challenge #2 - ordered a burger with the (expensive +3-3/4) Beyond Meat option. Received an unappetizing looking patty on my bun instead. This happens. Back to the kitchen it goes. Challenge turned Fail - The burger returned to me some 5-6 minutes later. There was a food-services Beyond Meat patty (the flat A&W style, not the nice thick home service type). Undercooked and not crispy in any way at all. Blah. But it gets worse: The plate I returned had fries and a salad. After sitting while they just replaced the incorrect patty, they served the SAME plate again. Now the fries were cold and the salad was soggy at the bottom. This is inexcusable. You mess up, you replace the plate not the little part over 5 minutes later. The server did recognize they screwed up and comped my coffee and the extra for the Beyond Meat patty, but it was such a miserable meal (and my partner had almost finished hers by the time I got my food a second time) that I didn't want to complain again. I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. Mistakes happen, but how you fix it makes all the difference. They didn't fix it well and I left most of my fries because they were cold. Horrible experience and made me want to go and eat meat again if this is the best of vegetarian dining! read more

Meh. Hard for me to fairly write a review about this place since I'm a self-proclaimed carnivore. Came here on a Tuesday night for a Bday dinner. Too bad they don't take resos since we were a party of 8. Nevertheless we only had wait about 15 minutes for them to put together a table for us. We ordered some appies to share for the table. Probably the best part of the meal. Hummus, deep fried cauliflower, and poutine to start. All were really good. For a second, the deep fried cauliflower almost tasted like chicken nuggets...almost. For mains I shared the thai noodle bowl and had burger. It was just ok as my body was craving meat. For dessert we had cronuts. Not bad except they filled it with this coconut cream which had such a gooey texture that it almost made the whole thing unappetizing. Overall, I'm probably not the best person to judge this place. But the place was busy for a Tuesday night (which is usually a good sign!) Appies were good, everything else was just ok. read more

Great place for yummy vegan food! One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver, Meet in Gastown has a same food menu and quality as Meet on Main but different wine list (both are good but I love the Chardonnay on Main)... My favourite food items are the bbq cauliflower, El Fab bowl, and did I mention the fries are literally one of the best I've EVER tasted?!? Lots of people don't even realize it's vegan:). The space is open, airy, bright and homey. Great location! So happy another Meet location opened! read more

Don't believe the hype. There are waaaaay better burgers out there. Stale BBQ burger, burnt fries, soup of the day missing any salt or pepper or taste. Slow and poor service. Happy hour is a good deal and buys beer and a bucket of yummy gravy fries for under ten bucks. read more

The atmosphere was cozy and the servers very nice. The food was ok, nothing special and overpriced.

The restaurant is tucked away, but gorgeous. There are both outdoor and indoor seating available, and the decor is pleasant. We were promptly seated and served. I ordered the Seoul Bowl, after debating between it and the portobello burger. It came with a variety of vegetables, and was well seasoned. I liked the faux chicken, which tasted authentic. MeeT - Seoul Bowl - Burgers Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Nosh and Nibble came here for an early dinner and I had a great share of the following: Hot Chiggin Things ($8.75) Southern BBQ Burger ($14.25) Marinated Portobello Burger ($13.50) Mac 'N' Cheese ($10.75) The Hot Chiggin Things kicked off our meal and these were lathered with Buffalo heat. The filling was a chicken substitute which kind of tasted like chicken but with a soy taste to it. If you can't handle a lot of spice, you may want to instead consider the Whisky BBQ Things. The Mac 'N' Cheese arrived next and this was macaroni pasta smothered in vegan cashew cheez sauce, and finished with a sprinkle of smoked salt. While I don't think the smoked salt was very prominent, this mac and cheese had all the elements of gooey comfort goodness in its cashew cheez sauce. There was a bit of a nutty taste which I enjoyed and every scoop with my spoon was a hearty one. The Southern BBQ Burger was a house-smoked burger with whisky BBQ sauce, 2 crispy onion rings and aged cashew-cheddar cheez. The burger patty looked like a hamburger patty but wasn't made with any meat. It had a soy taste to it but a lot of flavour on this burger came from the sauce. I found the sauce to be a little much as my burger bun slowly became soggy. If you're a fast eater this won't be a problem but the amount of sauce here may overpower the rest of the burger and create a messier experience. The Marinated Portobello Burger was my choice burger of the night. This patty was a marinated and grilled portobello, topped with house-made chipotle mayo, grilled onions, roasted red peppers & pea pesto. This burger was very juicy and had lots of flavour in the mushroom. The best part for me was how packed full of mushrooms the patty was. Thumbs up! Overall this was a good menu for meat lovers like me thanks to the meat substitutes that tasted similar to regular meat. The pricing was the same as the Main Street location, meaning cheaper than most restaurants in Gastown. read more

Seriously. Amazing. Food. You don't need to be vegan to appreciate the amazing comfort food offered at this place! Every item on the menu so far (I've been in quite a few times) is just plainly fantastic. The nacho fries are one of my must have, favourite foods ever. Also the mac and cheese burger and the cauliflower bites. The cauliflower is very reminiscent of any Thai chicken style appetizer I've had, but honestly with a much better twist. The food is great, the cocktails are awesome, service is wonderful and I've always left happy and well fed! It's a place I not only recommend but always bring my friends to as a first choice! read more

A little vegan slice of heaven. My chilli cheese fries were awesome and so was my pineapple and soda water. All around yumminess. I thought it was a bit expensive at first but my dish was a fair size for the price so no complaints here! I will take my friends here when we go out for dinner. I do like the other location a smidgen better, but that is personal preference. Both locations are well worth visiting. read more

Coming from Portland, OR I'm used to my fair share of vegan establishments. However, when I travel I always make a point to try a local vegan restaurant. MeeT in Gastown did not disappoint. Seriously amazing, delicious vegan comfort food. My friends and I arrived around 7:00pm on a Thursday evening. There was a line but we were seated within 10 minutes. The hostess was friendly and checked in with us a couple of times to let us know our table would be ready soon. Overall we experienced great service. Our server took maybe a few minutes too long to initially come over to our table but given how busy they were it was no big deal. As for the food, we split the artichoke and spinach dip as an appetizer. My friends had the MeeT burger and the hot chiggin' salad and I had the double bacon-double cheez burger. So, so good. Even the fries were done well. We had mixed opinions on the desserts - the cheezcake was a bit too sweet for us but the chocolate coconut ganache tart was to die for. Housemade kombucha was also tasty and refreshing. I definitely plan on revisiting MeeT when I'm back in Vancouver! read more

My girlfriend is Vegan. I am not, but in order to please her we went to Meet on Main. I have to say it was really great the one time we went. Then Meet in Gas-town opened steps from our home. We have gone 7-10 times, we have both all but given up on the place. I think our complaints are both the same. Much of the menu tastes, or at the very least feels the exact same as everything else. Everything feels so heavy. The battered cauliflower was one of the things I first tried and I loved it... but now it certainly feels like more batter than cauliflower. The last two times we have ordered it the exterior was overcooked, yet inside there was still undercooked, bordering on uncooked batter. The stroganoff, which I loved, was taken off the menu, so that is sad. I tried to branch out and order some other things, but was not blown away by any of it. Both burgers I ate were over salted. The noodley Thai is good, I'm sure if I was Vegan I would say it was great, or at least ok but compared to a standard, non Vegan pad Thai it's boring and bland. Worse than what you would get from a steam tray at the Thai place in your local mall. The chilli cheeze fries will keep us coming back for a drink and a snack, but I am not sure I will ever eat a full meal here again. read more

Vegetable eaters rejoice - another spot downtown for you. The main burger is a barley, protein and veggie patty with a creamy ?cheese?, lettuce, tomato and pickle combo. I will say it might have a bit more pickle than someone would prefer, but I think it works well here. The burger at $11 also comes with fries with a chipolte Mayo and a side salad. Pretty decent for the price. The patty itself is kinda spongy in texture, but the flavours are nice. Also ordered the merridale cider. A Victoria based cider company. Points for local BC menu options. However at $8 for a sleeve, you should reconsider drinking elsewhere. read more

First time to Vancouver and this place is great! So good we came back here after stopping by before our kickass trip to Whistler! I always avoid vegan food. It just doesnt taste right to me. Mostly tastes like cardboard. An attempt to make dishes taste good, but failing miserably. It all changed after my visit to Meet in Gastown. We had spent a long time in Gastown and all the little boutique there. Super tired and hungry, I looked up restaurants to find something good, and meet in gastown caught my eye. Never would I have thought that this place is vegan. I assumed a name is just a smart way to call a burger joint. Once we were seated, I asked the server if I can add proteins to my salad and he said, of course, but all vegan options.... Very disappointed, we ordered the quinoa and yam salad as well as a fried cauliflower thing (forgot the name).... Food was amazing and absolutely changed my perspective of vegan restaurants. Kudos to the chef, it must be infinitely hard to come up with great vegan dishes..... Highly recommended. read more

If you want someone to see how good vegan food can be bring them to MeeT. My wife and I started the meal with the creamy artichoke dip with chips. Definitely coming back to eat my way through the entire menu! read more

This was surprisingly good vegan food. I don't eat vegan so I was a bit worried about what I would be getting. We ordered a burger with the "beyond meat" patty and poutine fries. They were pretty decent for being vegan. The price here is on the higher end. We paid around $35 for two before tip. The service was a bit odd. We didn't receive any water refills. Then, when it came time to pay, I chose to pay with a card. The server brought a card reader to the table and watched over my shoulder as I signed and chose what percentage tip to leave. We certainly didn't get 20% tip level service but it defaulted to 20%. I felt so awkward about changing it with her breathing down my back. Very very odd. We both left thinking "what was up with that?". This pretty much ruined the experience for me. read more

Other than the small waiting area and it being really cold outside - absolutely great service and food.
