I need to start by saying I am not a vegan. My diet consists of mostly vegan meals as I'm not a huge dairy person and I don't like to eat alot of meat but I am far from being vegan. I have walked past this place so many times always wanting to give it a try but wanting to wait for the right group of people to go with. It's finally happened and now I want to eat here every day! We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, chiggin fingers and the "bacon double cheeseburger" as well as some beers and sodas (sparkling water with blueberries for myself.) The spinach artichoke dip was so creamy and full of flavour with nice big chunks of artichoke. It came with plenty of tortilla chips for dipping and I even used the leftover dip on my burger and fries. The chiggin fingers tasted pretty good but the buffalo hot sauce was a touch overpowering for my taste but yummy none the less. The bacon double cheeseburger was AMAZING! You could not have convinced me it wasn't meat if I hadn't known. So much flavour and an amazing texture. The staff are lovely and very informative. The location is prime, right in the center of gastown and thier little outdoor space is so charming. I like that it's in a small alley and not right on the street so the noise of pedestrians isn't in your face. If you live in or are visiting Vancouver this place is a must munch. Worth the travel and parking for sure! Great for vegans and non vegans alike! read more

Such good vegetarian food, and so many good options. Got the MeeT burger, Mucho Gusto burger, and the Lovely bowl, and all of them were delicious. The restaurant is pretty big, and I love the decor. Service was also very friendly. When my parents and I got there for a Wednesday dinner, we had a short wait but it wasn't bad at all. Would definitely come back to try more of their food! read more

I went in with great expectations for this restaurant. Especially considering all the high ratings. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. All the appetizers were extremely salty. The salad was kind of boring and hard to eat.. The burger was very large and dense. The Mac and cheese was boring and insipid.. Overall, very meh. I don't know what all the brouhaha about this place is all about.. read more

Came here on a steady Friday afternoon after hearing some rave reviews from a friend, had to try it. The reception was... what reception? Servers walked past us one by one without acknowledgement. Someone finally came to greet us when another couple walked through the door - without asking who came first, the waitress took the other party in first. I'll let that slide. Once we were seated at our ridiculously wobbly table (second from the door) ... insert 5 minutes... the blonde waitress shuffled over oh so slowly and gracefully with two waters. "would you like anything else to drink?" "may I take your order?" actually, she said nothing... We gave our order and she retreated, slowly, gracefully, never to be seen AGAIN! We were excited for the food! Vegetarian/vegan pad thai = yum Nachos w/ housemade cheezewiz = horrendous, but probably mediocre by vegan standards HOWEVER, the tofu in the pad thai was sour, yes, sour. If you know anything about cooking tofu, sour is not a recommended flavour for tofu. The only time tofu should taste sour is when its ready to be trashed. We would have said something had our waitresses come back and ask. C'mon guys... After dropping off the horrendous food, we never saw our graceful server at our table again - except when she was busy with a handful of washed cutlery walking about cluelessly to fully stocked empty tables and chatting away with other waitresses. I say - believe the hype. But say no to sour tofu. Meet you maybe never. read more

I first stumbled across this place by accident when I was wandering around in Gastown trying to find a place to have dinner. Although the address of the restaurant is on Water Street, the actual spot is a bit tucked away inside a corridor. The restaurant's inconspicuous location makes it a good place for a quiet and cozy meal. I am definitely a fan, even though the "patio" only offers glimpses of sunshine. The restaurant is known for its gluten-free and vegan menu selections. Knowing my preferences, I (obviously) ordered their Mac N' Cheese .. with the add-on of chili! Their Mac N' Cheese is made with their vegan cashew cheez sauce, scallions and smoked salt. I had a choice of brown rice macaroni or wheat penne. I picked brown rice macaroni. And truth be told, it was actually very tasty! I will refrain from giving it a CAMCR (Cynthia Approved Mac and Cheese Rating) because although it tasted good, it didn't quite resemble your typical mac and cheese. It was more of a chili mac, if anything. I couldn't really make out the cashew cheez very well, so it's hard for me to comment on how it stacks up with real cheese. I do plan on coming back and trying their house chili though. I saw several people around me ordering it and it looked like straight comfort in a bowl. Huge fan of MeeT! I love both the Main and Gastown locations, but prefer this location a bit more as I find it a little cozier. Great comfort food options. Loooooveeee their bowls. read more

Meet are the best at what they do - vegan comfort food with no pretences. I haven't had a single dud meal the few times I've visited. The BC poutine bowl is UNREAL, and I'm actually dreaming of it right now, as I sit here at my desk and wish that my office was closer to Gastown. I can't wait to sample more of the menu, because I'm sure everything will be a winner. The only reason I have taken a star off is because I was charged $9 to upgrade my fries to poutine with my burger combo, which is frankly obscene. NINE EFFING DOLLARS? I could've ordered an entire bowl of poutine for basically that. Maybe it was an error? read more

Can't believe this place is vegetarian / vegan! Other than the cheese (which is impossible to get a truly fantastic vegan substitute for), the food was amazing. I loved the steamed kale. My husband loved the corn fritters, and we both thought the chili cheez fries were delicious. The house-made ginger shrub beer was unique was good, but the mojito (with tequila) was somehow a touch lacking. Maybe not enough mint...? The acoustics of the cute restaurant are terrible, so get there early if you want to talk while eating. And their happy hour only goes til 5:00! read more

I love the food here. Everything is so good. The sweet-chili cauliflower, the mac and cheez, and all of the burgers are excellent. The only reasons I'm not giving 5 stars are as follows: 1) the seating is all REALLY close together and you often are so close to the table beside you that you're trying not to bump elbows with them. I get that its a small busy location but a more thought out table plan could benefit everyone. 2) everytime I've been here its been incredibly loud! Like being at a bar almost. Everyone is packed so close together and talking and on top of that they always have really loud music blaring. I wish they'd turn the music off or way down. These two issues make it really hard for anyone with sensory issues (myself, I'm disabled) to be able to enjoy their meal and company. Some small changes would make this place much more enjoyable. For now I will just attempt to plan to go when they are not busy. read more

Both times I've been here it's given me horrible diarrhea, I regret recommending this place to my friends. I ate dinner here on Tuesday, it's currently Friday and I've had nothing but diarrhea since then. It's been 3 days. I had to miss work. read more

Food is really good. There's a bartender there who's really kind and sociable, which I like (didn't get his name though). It gets really busy here sometimes, so the hostesses/hosts might overlook you...even if you're standing in front of them for a while in plain view (but at some point, you'll be seated and sometimes quickly. Depends on the rush because this place can get really busy.) On the other hand, there are also some servers and other bartenders who don't talk a whole lot and seem kind of stand-offish and make me feel awkward, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. All in all, I like the food but if you're looking to make some small talk, might not happen. But, you know, go for the food. read more

This was my first time at sit-down at a vegetarian restaurant and I have to say, I was delightfully surprised. The atmosphere at MeeT was very trendy and all my interactions with staff members were remarkably friendly. My partner had ordered the Mountain Burger while I got the Mac 'n' Cheese Burger. At most restaurants I am often torn between ordering fries or a salad, however, at MeeT all burger options come with both, saving me from the labourious task of choosing my side of choice for the day. The fries came with some kind of mayo sauce which was a nice change from the standard ketchup. The Mac 'n' Cheese burger was well worth it. The Mac 'n' cheese was nice and creamy. The vegan patty had a amazingly similar consistency and taste to that of an actual beef burger; considering my past experiences with veggie burgers had not been so great, this was a welcome revelation. Great times are to be had at MeeT even if you consider yourself a carnivore and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a tasty burger, good value, and a fabulous atmosphere. read more

I cannot rave enough about this restaurant. Best vegan food in Vancouver, by far. I've tried almost everything on the menu, and my favorites would be the Crispy Chili Cauliflower, Nacho Fries, Crispy BBQ Burger, Macro Bowl, and for dessert the chocolate coconut ganache and the cronut. They also make great drinks! The service is always amazing and efficient. All locations have great vibes - especially the Gastown location which has a beautiful patio. My husband and I took the train throughout the Pacific Northwest and Vancouver, BC was one of our stops. We searched for good vegan restaurants and Yelp did not disappoint; we went here based on all the incredible reviews about this place. So we went to MeeT on our first night in Vancouver, loved the food so much (our minds were blown because it was so ridiculously good), we ended up having our 'farewell' meal here again on our last night. Oh, and the service was excellent! Here's what we ordered (ALL worth trying!!): - Chili Cheez Fries - Groovy Gravy Fries - The Lovely - Mac'n'Cheez Burger - Southern BBQ Burger - Mountain Burger - Cronut I'm having major withdrawals now after writing this review. In the heart of Gastown, and hidden away, Meet in Gastown always delivers and fulfills my cravings for vegan comfort food. My go-to is the Meet burger, a vegan burger with stuffed with a veggie patty and onion and a side of fries. The restaurant also has cauliflower wings (another personal favourite) and offers bowls. The best bowl I've tried is El Fab, which includes brown rice, beans, and salsa. If you're in Gastown, definitely give this restaurant a try but expect 20-30 (& up to an hour) waits during peak times. read more

Being an omnivore with high affinity for meaty protein, and having experienced a handful of questionable vegetarian restaurants, I am very critical of vegan and vegetarian places. One thing that really irks me is when a restaurant TRIES to make their dishes appear like they're made of meat and cheese. There are some good uses for nutritional yeast and the like, but faux cheese is not one of them. Enter Meet. These folks know how to do it right! They create unique and special dishes where the ingredients are celebrated rather than forced to emulate something they're not. I was there with a large group and so I got to try a large assortment of delicious creations. I wasn't let down by a single one. From the first plate of satay-sauce laden fries, I knew I was in for some good eats. I had a few bites of other peoples' faves... the Mac and Cheez (which doesn't taste like cheese thankfully, but rather creamy nuttiness all in itself), Sunshine Salad, Zesty Hummus, and others... all sooooooo goooood.... Then my marinated portobello burger came. ZOWIE, was that ever a gooey and flavourful mess. Plus there was a yummy salad and another heap of their perfect fries! And to top it off, the drink assortment is quality as well. A good beer capped things off perfectly. Go. Try something new. You won't regret it. read more

In search for some kind of healthy food, my BF and I stumbled into Meet on a Wednesday evening. We had no idea that it was vegetarian/vegan until we sat down so we were pleasantly surprised. We shared the corn fritters and I had the quinoa and roasted yam bowl while my BF had the Meet Burger with half salad half fries (it is still a a LOT of fries). The "patty" was very interesting and tasted like the tofu skin of inari. I really loved my salad. The dressing was light so you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. I am going to put roasted yam in my salads from now on. Service was quick. I'm looking forward to trying their other salad bowls in the future. read more

If you're looking for a place to satisfy meat eaters and non meat eaters, you've found it! Their burgers are my favourite - incredible flavour, and they give you a side salad and fries...so you don't have to choose! I highly recommend saving room for something sweet! Their vegan cheesecake came in a cute mason jar and was topped with a fruit compote - this season they had a blackberry blend which isn't my go to, however they made it incredible! My friend and I even recommended it to the table beside us and they loved it too! read more

It's 2:50am and I haven't slept a wink. This is my second round of "shit yourself thin" this early am thanks to Meet. If you want to be a vegan or a vegetarian or what have you, eat vegetables. Don't pretend that whatever processed and refined foods you press into meat-like forms are in any way healthier or better for the body than real flesh. I came. I tried. I rejected it like a bad transplant. This experience has left me committed to eating the flesh of animals for the foreseeable future until we can figure out how to make REAL meat in a laboratory setting. But the concept looks great on paper... read more

Meet was awesome! We had spent a week in Vancouver, and we were walking around this District of the city looking for a great bar or restaurant to close out our trip. We must have visited five or six places, and passed this by several times. My girlfriend, who happens to be a vegetarian, caught wind of the name play in and it stopped to look at the menu. We didn't even realize that it was predominantly vegan until we sat down and diligently looks through the menu. Beer, mac and cheese, pasta, salad, rice bowls, burgers, fries, lots of appetizers. Meet was extraordinarily on point, and everything tasted great. Prices are also reasonable. It's not cheap or inexpensive purse a, but considering the taste and quality of everything, I thought it was very fair, and well worth it. The staff was amazing too, very friendly, lots of suggestions to offer. And the ambience of the place is well thought out. Lots of room, great casual decorations. The dress code is a bit casual, but I would recommend at least a decent shirt or button up. This isn't McDonald's after all, it's a respectable business. The music was on point too! Lots of cheesy classic rock hits such as Journey. If I'm ever back in Vancouver, I definitely plan on visiting Meet again. Just an overwhelmingly great experience. read more

We ate here on the last night of our Vancouver trip, and its a pity because its the type of place we'd have wanted to come to again and again. Husband and I tried the BC plate and BC poutine respectively. Best poutine we had all trip. That Butter Chikin, yumyum! Our friends shared the Mucho Gusto Burger, which they swear is the best black bean burger they have ever had. What seems wonderful about Meet is that is caters to both demographics of vegetarian eaters -those inclined to eat fake meat and those who would rather not. And its wonderful sit down festive atmosphere put you in a frame of mind that wasn't mired with hippie, health food consciousness. What a hidden gem! Highly recommend! read more

Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for dinner in Gastown. The place was packed which is a good sign and we decided to have our meal here. It did not disappoint. Lively and trendy atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Really great menu of vegan and low gluten dishes (I am not vegan nor gluten free but enjoy these cuisines anyway) The BC Poutine was phenomenal. I could've made poutine my meal. VEGAN AND VEGETARIAN approved! Had an absolutely amazing time at MeeT! I was set to meet my vegan to-be-roommate for the first time who was visiting from New Jersey, and we needed a place in the Gastown area to grab a bite to eat! Let me just say, that MeeT was an easy choice, and we both admitted that we spent the entire week prior drooling over their Instagram account. We got in around 615pm, and the restaurant was busy but not loud or overcrowded. We were seated straight away, and a server took care of us just as quickly. Our server was Sarah C (or so says my receipt) and she was awesome! So friendly and so nice, and if I lived in the Gastown area, I'd be a regular HANDS DOWN due to this experience. I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw that they had fresh juice on the menu, and a really good sized glass was only $4, so suuuper reasonable for the good stuff. Also, just a heads up if you're into it, their water glasses are mason jars which is just a cute side-note. I ordered the Mac n' Cheez burger, which was amazing, and really reasonable, plus it came with a side of fries and a salad which was awesome! + my friend got a Double Bacon Cheeseburger, with the same sides. We were so full afterwards, but couldn't pass up their awesome-looking dessert menu, and shared a piece of cheesecake! We asked if it was made of tofu, because sometimes vegan cheesecake made from tofu can have that tofu-y taste, but they said no, and that it was just made of cashews! It was amazing and light but super creamy and I would definitely order it again. Plus, a super cool thing I loved, THEY HAD ORGANIC KETCHUP. Definitely will be going back again within the next month!! read more
