She recommended the grass jelly with a variety of mochi in there and I really wanted the mango shaved ice. As you can see, the mango shaved ice is huge, definitely share with a couple of friends. Everything tasted fresh was delicious. I would say the mango dessert might've been a little to sweet, so hopefully that can be adjusted when I return. **ACTUAL RATING IS A 3.5** I was excited that a Meet Fresh had opened in my neighborhood as I have only been to the one in Manhattan. The location of the place was pretty spacious and clean. All the workers were all wearing gloves/masks when they were making the food so I definitely felt safe ordering from here. They have a wide variety of Taiwanese type desserts. I got the Icy Grass Jelly Signature and Taro Ball Tofu Pudding. The Icy Grass Jelly Signature was pretty tasty - it came with a creamer that you could add on top for extra sweetness. It definitely satisfy my craving for traditional Taiwanese dessert. The Taro Ball Tofu Pudding was just meh, the tofu pudding wasn't amazing and I definitely had better tofu pudding for a cheaper price. The only downside is that the prices are pretty steep here - and I definitely have other dessert places in the area that I prefer more than this one so I would really only come back if I am strongly craving a Taiwanese dessert. read more

I've always been a fan of Meet Fresh. The east village location is a regular visit of mine. When I heard that a Brooklyn location was opening near me, I was thrilled. My friend and I visited very recently after their grand opening. There was a little section for photo ops if you were so inclined. They had a basket with different props you could use. As this was a new location, there were quite a few people waiting in line. We ordered the Icy Grass Signature (~$10). It comes with taro balls, grass jelly, and grass jelly shaved ice. It also includes a creamer. We waited quite a while for our order, but that's understandable considering how many people were there. Keep in mind that currently it's CASH ONLY! After bringing it back home, we noticed that the shaved ice had formed into a solid block of ice underneath. The walk was only 5 minutes so this was disappointing to see. I wouldn't recommend getting anything with shaved ice as you can't dine in the store and the hunk of ice wasn't pleasant to eat. The taro balls were good, as always. Chewy, delightful little pillows. Meet Fresh is always a busy place and so was this one. We ordered online as we discovered there are more options to order from than the menu displayed in the store. The watermelon slush was not on their physical menu but online. I am used to get a text message once my order is ready to pick up but not with this place. We sat and waited and waited and then after 20min we asked for the order and it was ready all the time. The ice was already melting and did impact the taste and experience. If there is a long line, I would expect to get a text message or a shout out that the order is ready. Especially in times of COVID, you want to avoid a crowd standing in front of the pick up window asking all the time. However, if you were to order at the store, you will be given a buzzer. It's Asian style grass jelly desserts that don't make you feel overly gluttonous because the desserts here are all pretty light and refreshing for the most part. I was super excited to try this when I saw a location opened up in Brooklyn! I've heard a lot of good things about this Taiwanese dessert spot. I ordered their ice grass jelly signature (around $10) and my boyfriend ordered a bubble tea. As a heads up, they have a card minimum of $15. It didn't take too long to get our order. My dessert looked big enough for 2 people to share so I thought the price was pretty worth it. They gave me a creamer to top off the grass jelly, which added a creaminess to the bowl. The grass jelly was silky and the taro/sweet potato balls had the perfect chew to it. You could also really taste the taro and sweet potato in the dessert balls! It was so good that I came back the same week to get another one LOL My boyfriend really enjoyed his bubble tea too! There was only one size to the drink and it was basically an extra large so I thought the value of the drink was worth as well. Some items on the menu are pretty good such as the double taro ball signature. The cold tofu pudding with taro balls was a no for me. The tofu was soooo rough as I expected it to be nice and smooth especially for almost $10bucks a bowl. And one more thing was, the portions are a huge difference when you eat there and for to go. I ordered the icy signature to go, meanwhile the guy in front of me ordered the same but to dine in. His taro balls were piled up like a mountain and mine were laying flat and still floating around in just a few pieces. I do love their taro balls so I wish they'd give more for the price.
