US Post Office - Joe S. 1* post All these old envelopes have the same brief sender return address and came back! So USPS recognizes return address!

One really has to wonder what grossly incompetent nincompoop DEI clown circus runs this station!…read more For almost 20 years my friend is the holder of POBox 411621 at the USPS office 1600 Bryant St. in San Francisco 94141. Over the years he has maintained the aforementioned and also updated and submitted at the post office account information i.e. mailbox name holders. Such as adding is DBA business name and adding from an offering from USPS office the street address. All done while filling out and submitting the required forms at the post office. This worked for almost 2 decades. He always received mail addressed with either name, some even without his name and when mail mailed to someone got returned for whatever reason, he received it back in his POB. I don't know what DEI imbeciles USPS employs now, but some cretin all of a sudden decided that any mail addressed other than with his first & last name, even if PO Box and street address and ZIP Code is correct, will be returned to the sender as "insufficient address, attempted delivery not known" sticker! This is a particular insinuation considering that he received mail were just the PO Box and ZIP Code was on the envelope. Also mail returned to him, were his return address on envelope contained minimal information i.e. PO Box and ZIP Code, came back correctly. (image attached) This USPS idiocy has cost him in a time of economic distress to lose a new client, have his reputation damaged and lose the desperately needed $15,000 - $20,000 of a project assignment/contract. I went with him to the post office on March 10, 2026 after he had gotten the envelopes from the sender with the USPS return sticker on to complain about this. (image attached) Asking for the stationmaster/postmaster at the post office he got stupid smiles and the lamest of lame excuses and denials. Mostly none reactions that such individual does not exist. As excuse they pulled out his original registration card from back 2007 for the POBox. When he then asked what about the updates that he made and forms submitted over the years, all he got was silent dumb looks. He showed them some actual returned mail envelopes he got back over the years (image attached) which at the same short nameless address clearly proving that the post office has the address on file, as it is the same [valid] address on the envelope. Otherwise he would have not gotten the mail (envelopes) back! He got a shoulder shrugging blank stare with excuses, lame explanations or no-answers. Since this year suddenly mail to his POB got returned by the by these post office jerks as non-deliverable!!! Yellow sticker: Return to sender "attempted - not known". But the PO Box is valid, paid for an active. What are the worst nine most terrifying words? 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help." -- R. Reagan

Incredibly unethical business practices and ridiculous to rip off consumers in this way. I had a…read morepackage delivered here from a merchant free of cost and when I come informed that I have to pay $10 for them to release the package. This is a store policy and apparently an email is sent out. I have nothing and was forced to pay a fee to get my package. The issue here is NOT the fee. It's the disclosure around it or complete lack of that infuriates me as a consumer. I have a feeling this store intentionally does this without notifying the merchant or the consumer. This is a direct violation of SB478 in California. Update - I called another UPS store in town and this fee that this location charges is up to the store franchisee and their own policy. I just want to make sure others are aware of my experience. This store is definitely violating both SB478 and making revenue by deceiving consumers in this way. This isn't a normal practice across UPS stores.

UPS. USPS. FedEx. They're all the same to me. I choose to mail most everything via USPS 'cause "if…read moreit fits, it ships" standardized prioritiy boxes are regularly the best deal AND I prefer to support our public services with hopes they'll stick around for future generations. That being said, UPS does a few things USPS doesn't: - AMZN returns - notaryVan Ness This particular location is on Van Ness one block off Market St near SFUSD, many large apt buildings full of WFH folks, City Hall (who are now required to be IRL), main muni lines. Don't ever walk in and be surprised if there is a line. Pick a store in a less populated area if you're going to complain about a line. Sheesh. I've frequeted many UPS across the city over the years, but this is the closest to my apartment, has *two* self-service AMZN return kiosks, and is definitely my most frequented. Thanks to the two kiosks, I never have to wait at this location to do my returns. Once I had a brain fart and was attempting to return a USPS package to the UPS kiosk... the UPS employee was helpful and kind in correcting my error. Recent visits with many returns have given me a chance to observe employee interactions -- they're always calm, kind, and patient, even when the customer is the exact opposite. I've not paid to ship anything here, and will point you to USPS for top value before exploring private options.

Well to me this place is the hospital for UPS. So it's important that it stays and never goes away…read more I had a package an important package coming. They left a notice. So I called up I got connected to an out sourced person female who could not listen you could say avenue and she would Say Ave., Street after telling her an address five times she changed the address to a no such street here. Driver couldn't deliver and I couldn't find it and the shipper couldn't find it. So luckily the hospital took over. Sure they have limited hours now but they are only for bad outcomes when you can't normally get your package. I called him and he saved the day So for me cheers to UPS . I was told they would attempt delivery 3 days in a row and then. You can take the notice during business hours to the customer center after you call them and they will bring out your package. Now with outsourcing they could not attempt delivery because apparently outsourcing doesn't hire quality people. So I ll give 5 stars to the UPS hospital just to keep them alive for that one time you need them . Quit sniffling about them

US Post Office - Fox Plaza building where the USPS drop box is located

I would love to rate this USPS location higher, unfortunately they have a problem in maintaining…read moretheir equipment. One of the several persistent problems is the USPS Dropbox that they manage inside of Fox Plaza foyer. The single Letters Mail drop box is wholly missing the catch basin. This deficiency plainly shows the person who might drop mail there that the location's single letter drop is completely insecure. However, directly next to the single letter drop is a mail bundle drop bin. The mail bundle drop location still has the bin underneath it to receive mail. And labels for the bin show days and times of the week that mail is collected. But that bin has a cover plate that is partially loose. This allows anyone with a slim enough arm to reach inside the bin and take mail that does not belong to them out of the USPS mailbox. I've seen no posted notifications on the USPS site about this mail drop being decommissioned and longer being an available USPS Dropbox location. And there are new posted notices on the location from the USPS either about any decommissioning. The remaining label on the bin with days and times for collection also signify that this location appears to be still active. The security guards in the foyer of Fox Plaza still think that it is an active USPS mail drop location. And they even indicated that mail drop is available for use. On the usps.com website, a search shows the USPS still considers this drop location named as "USPS COLLECTION BOX" at 1390 Market Street, San Francisco, California, 94102 to be active. The same is indicated for another collection box at the same address. https://tools.usps.com/locations/details/9410200249 https://tools.usps.com/locations/details/9410200231 It's time for the USPS to do one of things with that mail drop location. Either fully decommission it by removing all bins and sealing any drop slots. Or fully restoring the job location with some maintenance.
