Great local cafe! Came here looking for shakshuka and saw this place offered it. It did not disappoint! I shared it with a friend, and we were filled after eating the whole thing. I do wish they'd provided a bit more bread, since we finished the bread with a good amount of the shakshuka left, but the flavor was phenomenal! Highly recommend

We found this place on yelp n thought we'd try it for brunch. Quaint place. Street parking. The baked items looks so good. We ordered the tuna melt, chickpea pancake n roast pork sandwich n had to have the kouign- Amman. The food was so good n decent portions. Thank you for a great brunch.

I got the Shakshuka, which was good (4/5) but small for the price. It was a nice blend of flavors and what you expect from a Shakshuka, although I was still hungry after. The cafe has a nice vibe, and the staff is friendly! I also got some bread (farmhouse sourdough and ciabatta), which was also good (4/5).

LOVE this place!!!! Their coffees and teas are so great and my matcha was phenomenal... I'm still thinking about it. I loveeee when coffee shops actually use fresh strawberry purée when they make a drink with that flavor (and not store bought syrup). So that to me was a huge win in general. On top of the delicious drinks, the sandwiches were soo good and we got a pastry at the end, and that was a little too doughy for me, but I feel like it was my fault for choosing that item! I can't wait to come back to try a new beverage item and another pastry!

Fantastic food and a great ambiance to match. Service is friendly and the coffee is great too.

The cashier was so nice to help me decide between dishes since everything looked so good. I decided on the shakshuka which was delicious and earthy. I got the sprinkle cupcake and its' frosting was very thick and dense. Not my favorite frosting but I would come back to try the other desserts. You may have to wait in a long line over the weekends but it goes by decently quick.

Food is overall delicious! I've gotten the quiche of the day every time I've gone and it never disappoints. I've never been on a weekend so I can't speak to the seating situation then, but whenever I've gone on weekdays I've never had an issue getting a table! Their cereal milk lattes are incredible, I love seeing what seasonal flavors they have!

So good! The Turkish eggs were perfect and the pastries were all absolutely delicious. This is the perfect place to get some work done or just relax and vibe with some delicious pastries and coffee or scrumptious dishes.

I absolutely love Mediterra. It is a weekly stop on my list. The turkey sandwich on sourdough is incredible. The pastries are extensive. Bread is delicious and reasonably priced. Coffee is always solid. Dislike that they list cereal milk latte on their website with Golden Grahams but they do switch it up. Ended up with peanut butter cereal instead.

You MUST get the maple latte. It was unparalleled. The choc chip muffin was clearly homemade and so big! The avocado toast is a great size, but adding an egg for $3 is a little steep. Everything was fantastic, but just know you are going to pay the price for this homemade stop! The staff was so kind and takes their time with each customer, which is why it can take awhile to get drinks/food.

WOW! I recently had breakfast at the Mediterra Café in Lawrenceville and had a fantastic experience. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. I typically like to be waited on. But the counter service was fast and easy. I had the shakshuka, and it was absolutely delicious! At $16.00, it was a bit pricey, but it was very filling, and the bread was perfect for dipping in the red sauce. My husband had the breakfast Sammie for $12.00, with an additional $4.00 for two slices of bacon. No sides came with the sandwich. I also love that the café offers loose tea, which is a great touch. The almond danish is a must try - yum yum. The food and service were top quality

    Cereal Milk Latte

I love the quality and freshness of Mediterra's bread, but this was my first time at the cafe! The food was definitely on par, I expected nothing less. The quiche was fluffy and creamy and the side salad had a delicious vinaigrette. The ham and cheese sandwich was also delicious and had an incredible pesto. As for the coffees, they were pretty average. Didn't really taste much of the flavorings in either, but I would more so come for the food here anyway. It's a small cozy space with limited seating and friendly staff. I would recommend coming here if you want a quality and fresh meal!

They have Terrible coffee here. The service is not any better. Awful service. NO FREE INTERNET for customers and they don't want people studying or hanging out in store due to "limited space". I will not be back.

The Speckled Egg provided the upscale and elevated breakfast, that was a nice contrast to the rustic and local breakfast we had the next day. Our waitress was friendly and professional. After some deliberation, I went with a bowl that included eggs, chicken sausage, sweet potatoes and a nice garnish of dill. The dill surprisingly elevated the whole dish. My wife enjoyed an omelette. He was courteous, well spoken and friendly. We sat there for about 10-12 minutes. No one approached the table. We looked over to what appeared to be a bar area and we saw two servers standing there talking and showing each other their phones. My wife said, "With our luck, one of those two is our server." Sure enough, when they were finally done talking, one came over to our table....no smile and a big audible sigh. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and she returned with our beverages. After another 10 minute wait she came back to take our order. When asked about a certain dish, came another big sigh, eye roll and and a rote description of said dish. The food arrived and one of the orders was wrong. Another wait to get her attention. We asked for the item to be redone as we had ordered it. And she even asked how we wanted it! You got it...another eye roll and a big sigh. At least she was well oxygenated! The dish came back with the very same results. On that issue we gave up. Then came the wait for the check. Once again the two servers were chatting, no heads turned to check on their tables. My son went over to get the check. When the check arrived, it was attitude city. She accused us of picking on her because she was only a server. It's obviously how she saw herself. We then asked for the manager who was quick to side with the server. She said that nothing seemed to satisfy us and that we had a problem. IN SHARP CONTRAST. I have been to the Speckled Egg on the South Side many times. From the Host/Hostess to the servers to the bus staff, everyone had a smile, chatted with their customers, laughed and it was always a great experience. The manager came over since he recognized me from being there many times and we chatted for a minute. We are talking Night and Day. Completely two different experiences from server to management styles. To me there is only one Speckled Egg and one complete waste of time (Downtown).
