If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The gel manicure I got done here DID NOT LAST 24 HOURS... already PEELING around the corners. They use cheap gel polish and even the UV lamp seemed janky (with metal inside that smelled bad like cheap jewelry...) They charge $40 for gel manicure on natural nails (before tipping) but it wasn't worth it at all. I had many friends and customers at my work tell me "why are your nails peeling?" That's how bad their manicure is... usually when I have gel nails done at other places, they last 2-3 weeks easily... not this place!! You will never get compliments on your nails here... The moment I walked in I knew the vibe was off. The place was empty. Only 2 nail techs working....I couldn't figure out what was going on! Still, a manicure will last 2 1/2-3 weeks in "night out" form. A pedicure will last 4-5 weeks, though I always get both done at the same time. Medina Nails is also one my stop shop, as I can accomplish a mani-pedi AND get my waxing needs completed in one visit. What makes Medina Nails my exclusive provider is also all the little things that distinguish Medina Nails from other salons. They genuinely care about YOU. For example, they greet you the second you walk through their doors. The nail technicians all remember who you are, who you brought with you previously, and how you like your nails shaped. If someone who hasn't already done your nails does your nails, one of your regulars will step in right away and let the nail tech assigned to you know how you like your nails done. I came here with a friend right before I left for vacation. We both got Shellac and holy cow the color selection is AMAZING. Colors on colors on colors. The WHOLE WALL is full of colors. I think I paid about $30 for Shellac manicure, not including tip. I've been to places that offer cheaper shellacs, but this place is quality. I got the shellac done on February 26th... today is March 24th and I kid you not.. NONE of the tips have cracked or peeled off. The bottom of the polish that is close to the cuticle did start to peal about 3 weeks in, but I painted some glitter nail polish at the bottom and painted clear top coat over and BAM a temporary fix and flashy new "shellac." Fast forward to today, glitter polish is falling off and starting to look janky ... I definitely I need to get this removed soon. I posted a picture of my nails today, excuse the awkwardness and yes I know that my nails need some TLC, but at least you everyone can see that the original Shellac is still intact! Parking is TIGHT. They are located in the same complex as Facing East and Boiling point, so there is a heavy flow of cars. Parking spots are close so be careful when getting out of your car. I believe there are a few spots reserved for the Medina nails right in the front of the store. I recommend calling in and getting an appointment because they can get busy at times. The environment is not very relaxing. I got a gel pedicure and the quality was pretty low. Had to correct the technician a few times on nail shape and asked her to cut very short, which she didn't do. She was gracious enough when asked to correct it, but the owner started criticizing me and talking trash in Vietnamese. That was what made this experience a mediocre one to a bad one. Had a reservation and did a mani and pedi with my sister. The service was quite good. Both of our techs were super gentle and had a light touch. The tech named Nam did a GREAT job on my pedicure. The manicure was just ok (hence the 4 stars). The mani pedi had massage included as well. My mani pedi was $45 and sisters was $50. Pretty worth it! My two friends and I made appointments to get pedicures today at Medina Nails and I had the absolute worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. It's very rare I write negative reviews, but this place more than deserved it. We didn't know anything about this place before we went, and clearly that was a mistake not doing research first. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable, and when I stuck my feet in the water it was way too hot, it kind of burned my skin. I seriously could not get comfortable and when I tried to adjust the foot rest, it fell back and hit my leg so hard it left a bruise. Also, about 20 minutes into our pedicure experience, one of the employees microwaved fish for lunch and it smelled absolutely disgusting throughout the entire salon. I seriously felt nauseous and the smell alone was giving me a headache. I wanted to leave, but they were in the middle of painting my nails, so I stuck it out. My friends were all disgusted by the smell and strongly disliked the atmosphere. You'd think a salon would be tranquil and relaxing, but this place was dirty and stinky. Just awful. Lastly, it's been three hours since our pedicure appointments and our nails are still not dry. All three of us got different colors, but none of our polish has dried yet, very weird. Not sure what the issue is, I called the salon to ask them about it and they told me I should just go back tomorrow and have them repaint. What I really want is to be refunded for this awful experience, I never want to step foot in there again. I highly recommend you steer clear of this place and take your business elsewhere. read more

I am an avid Medina Nails fan, and have been getting my nails done at this salon for over 3 years. Amy does the best French manicures- ask for her if you're getting one! Everyone else is great at normal manicures and pedicures though, so you'll be in capable hands no matter who is helping you. Since I've probably had over 80 manicures from Medina Nails, of course there have been the rare times when something goes wrong and my shellac manicure chips after only 3 days, or a bubble forms in the polish, etc. If this ever happens I just stop in, and they fix it immediately free of charge! I came to this place because I saw a beautiful Ombre job on their Instagram page and specifically asked for that style with the exception of the shape. My end result did not look like Ombre but rather two colors with no transition. .the ladies that helped me were nice and I saw that a lot of work went into the nails so I still tipped out of courtesy. I was so sad about the nails that I ended up with. After speaking with Linh, I returned to have something done about it. Linh was very careful about maintaining the health of my fingernails. She recommended returning after a few days to allow my nails some time to rest from the first set. She was very flexible in accommodating my appointment. When I arrived for the second appointment, Linh walked me through the options for the desired style and explained how dip powder would impact the final result. After discussing the options, I opted for a different shape and used shellac instead of ombre. The nail technician, Stacey, did a fantastic job on the shape and quality both times. It turns out that the reason the ombre job was not to my satisfaction was due to a miscommunication on the product that was to be used. I highly recommend this nail salon because they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. They could have easily just painted over the original nail, but instead they did the right thing for the health of my nails and took their time to get it right. Side note: make sure you understand what you're requesting (even if its an online picture, its not always clear) and make sure you communicate clearly to avoid any confusion. I've been going to this place for about 5 years now. I live in Renton and I come all the way up here because of the relaxing atmosphere, attentive staff, and friendly service from the gentleman that runs the front end. Location is also good, far enough away from the mall where you won't hit mall traffic, but close enough you can walk. Parking lot fills up though, as it is in a shared center with a few other restaurants and businesses. This place does fill up quick in the late afternoons and around the weekend, but the staff does their best to make sure everyone gets in and out while not skimping on the quality of their services. Now I don't know why some Yelpers get mad at the salon for having a long wait. It is NOT their fault! Wouldn't you rather wait your turn knowing the staff did a good job on you rather than just rush people through as they do at some salons? They take time with each customer to make sure you are getting the well attentive service that each customer deserves. I waited maybe 10 minutes that day before a tech was free...that's totally fine by me though. That gave me an extra 10 minutes with a long needed foot soak and chair massage! The guy even offered me a magazine, and made sure it was the latest issue! As for my actual manicure and pedicure, I came in for my first Shellac mani/pedi a few months ago, as it was highly recommended by the awesome guy up front. He told me it stays chip free and glossy for weeks...and after that first Shellac, 3 weeks later, it still looked like the day I got it done, besides that my nails had grown out a bit! I don't do much too, so that may have accounted a little bit for it too. $30 for mani, plus every once in a while, they have specials on their website. They also include a nice leg scrub and massage with their spa pedis! While I was getting my mani, the tech made sure to ask me if the shape of my nails looked ok. In the past, when I come in for french tips, they always as me if the shape and thickness of the curve looks okay as well. If there are any bubbles, smudges, etc, they are always quick to fix it for me too. I even smudged the Shellac once as I was placing my hand into the UV machine, and the tech quickly fixed that without complaints! Trust me, it takes time & patience to give a Shellac mani! When your done, they help you move your belongings and shoes after placing your sandals or the disposable ones on your feet and place you under the light machines...and they will actually check on you! I've been left under those light machines before, and actually checked myself to see if I was dry, put my own sandals on AND had to walk my self to the cashier to pay! Let's just say I will not be going back to that new Tukwila nail salon bar that just opened across the street from the mall on Baker Blvd!!
