I'm writing this review now that I've stopped going to Lina's Salon. I had great experiences with the younger technicians, but my experience with Lina was awful. I had grown out my natural nails to a length I loved, and she used an electric file to shorten them, which caused all of my nails to break. She also cut my skin and made me bleed. When I returned and explained what happened, she seemed annoyed and again used an electric file, which caused a burning sensation. When I pulled away, she rolled her eyes at me. I refuse service with her and the relationship with the salon turned sour, guessing because she is the owner lol anyways I've taken my business elsewhere there's hundreds of great nail salons out there and better technicians that would take better care of your nails. Using an electric filer to file down nail is a big NO. read more

It's been a week and a half and my regular mani ($30) lasted without any chipping. Usually, from other salons, they start chipping after a few days. Service was great. Also they have these delicious candies with a chili center that is so unique and different. Will definitely be back! read more

Another set of beautiful nails! I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit to add more color and try out a new nail shape. This is my third time here and it was a great experience, as usual! Their credit card machine was down, so we had to pay with cash or Zelle. I asked how much a manicure for kids would cost, and they said $20. I prepaid $24, including a tip. Once the little girl's nails were done, the owner said it would be $25 for using three nail polish colors. I asked if the $24 I prepaid was fine, but she said no. Whatever, no big deal--I Zelled an extra $4. When their nails were dry, I went to the register and showed them both Zelle payments, reading the amounts aloud ($24 and $4). Despite this, both the owner and another technician loudly yelled, 'No! $24!' across the shop. I calmly responded, '$24 plus $4 is $28.' The cashier looked at them confused, then nodded, embarrassed, and said, 'Yeah!' Such low-class behavior--it was unnecessary and unprofessional! Let the cash register person do his job. Dropped by the other morning, no appointment. Was able to be seen immediately for a gel pedicure, and a regular manicure. The salon is immaculately clean, the decor is beautiful and relaxing. The ladies here are so nice! Going to get my nails done is usually a nerve wracking experience for me, but I felt like I was being well taken care of the whole time. Usually I get dip nails but they don't have a wide variety of colors here. However, this was not a problem because they were able to accommodate me for the design I wanted with no issues. Technician used a 'tip' on a nail that was so small that it caused my nail to curl and almost became an ingrown nail. The finger became painful until I had to have all of the work removed about 5 days later. This nail now is deformed - fingers crossed that it will grow out normally. They convinced me to do what they called gel - but was actually gel builder without any discussion of the heat you will feel during application or what follow up services would look like. I thought it was just gel. After the initial service, the polish on one nail fell off less than 24 hours later and i had to return for a repair. I recently had the opportunity to revisit Lina and I must say, my experience this time was notably different from my last visit. I initially had concerns regarding timeliness and communication, which left me feeling frustrated. However, I decided to give them another chance, and I'm glad I did. Liz as always showcased exceptional design skills. The creativity and attention to detail in my nail art were impressive, and I truly appreciated the effort put into making my nails look stunning. She listened to my ideas and brought them to life in a way that exceeded my expectations. You can basically show Liz a picture of a nail design and she will bring it to life! Nail designs are on the pricer side compared to other salons. However, I appreciate the transparency and Liz always tells me how much a design will be before she get started so I can decide to change it or go with it. Additionally, the service was much more attentive and professional my past three visits. I felt valued as a customer, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. I had a conversation with the nail tech and then owner on a different visit on communication with customers. I provided her who a customer perspective and she provided me with an owner/nail tech perspective. There were things I didn't fully agree on like the timeline of events. However, I appreciate the open honest dialogue we had. I believe in giving credit where it's due, and I'm happy to share that my faith in Lina Nails has been restored. read more

I've been to Lina's a couple times before for only pedicures but decided to try a manicure yesterday. I scheduled an appointment for 4:30pm but did not get started until 5pm because it was very busy. My tech was Lina's daughter (did not catch her name) and we did gel x removal and a builder gel mani (design: black French with silver outline) because my regular tech is on vacation. The prep work was pretty standard with e-file and builder in a bottle application was also okay. She originally was only going to do one coat of black for the French but I had to request a second one because the first was patchy and not pigmented in some spots. Based on their website, the service for builder gel with removal is $60. When showing my design, my tech didn't tell me there was going to be an up-charge but I assumed so because French usually is +$15 or something like that. After the service, my total was $110 which is pretty surprising for something I would consider Level 1 nail art and certainly less than Level 2. I still tipped the standard 20% but asked why the cost of the design was $50 more for just black French with silver outline. She confirmed the base service was $60 and $50 additional for this art is "just what they charge." 3 stars because of the lack of transparency and not giving notice about the design requested being $50 more (which is pretty significant - almost the same cost as the service). I also wasn't particularly impressed with the attention paid when applying the builder gel (there was lint and bumps upon application). There are also some bubbles and stray black specks on the (non French part) bed of the nail after closer inspection. Overall, this salon is better than your average but on the more expensive side. I would definitely double check prices before committing to a service/design so you're not shocked like I was. If you are into nail art, I would recommend finding another salon or independent tech. read more

Overall 8/10. Very pricey for basic nails but better than other salons in the area. They took me in quickly. Regular gelx w one color was $70. Basic Pedicure with gel was $50. Pedicure was really good and they took their time and didn't feel rushed. My gelx nails has a lot of glue underneath it but very nice customer service. Seems like they have a lot of regulars. I went to get a valentines day full acrylic set and was expecting to get acrylic POWDER, but instead, they just glued some plastic nails on and continued to just paint it with nail polish. Something anyone can do at home for $30 to $40. The quality was subpar, and to make matters worse, they charged me an exorbitant amount of money. ($125) for some PLASTIC NAILS and nail polish. I can literally see through the nail polish when the nails are in the light. This is not the way "acrylic" nails should be done... shouldn't even call it acrylic if they're not using acrylic powder, and it definitely shouldn't cost that much money if that's all they're gonna do. It feels cheap and like a scam... The nails didn't last long, and the overall experience was very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for quality nail services. They not only explained all other possible options to me very patiently and the science behind it but also took the time to fix all of my nails for free. They refused to take payment when I insisted! I asked many times (probably said it 5 times) that I want short but THIN nails. They put in effort only enough for the nails to look fine from the top! Looking at them from the side, they are DISGUSTING! They feel like they are standing a foot above my fingers. The nail artist tried to make them look thinner by haphazardly digging with the drill under my nails. This made my nails bleed and today it still hurts. And also made my nails collect so much dirt underneath even though I cleaned them profusely. The nail artists were nice and genuinely interesting, so I don't have issues with that or the place. But unfortunately I'm yet to find a nail salon that doesn't build a mountain and call it "thin" nails. read more
