Booked a massage and hydrotherapy, pretty easy to book online or call in (required for a couples massage). Easily accessible, few blocks away from Bellevue Square and even walkable from the new 2 line link. Parking is available in their small garage but only for 3 hours (validated online with a code Yuan Spa provides). Otherwise there's street parking. Arriving early is a plus to use the washroom or relax in their lounge area with snacks (wasabi peas, banana chips, and honey pretzel sticks) and hot tea. Shoutout to Jessica and Emma for our massages. They were extremely comforting and the hour flew by insanely quick. Hydrotherapy is self guided between a hot pool, cool pool, steam room, and dry sauna. All are soothing but many gyms have these as well, so I'm torn whether it's worth it. However, definitely a nice supplement to other services here in the same location, which is a fair argument. One thing I hate is the check out process. After checking out, they'll ask if "you'd like to add a gratuity" which I always feel is just a darker practice in the social moment. A good massage deserves a tip for quality service, but hydrotherapy feels like an interesting gray area. However, it's easier to just give a percentage on the total amount. On the flip side, I love how they also provide up to 30 minutes buffer after hydrotherapy (maybe also other services, but we ended on hydro) to shower and leave. Came here for my annual facial as a treat to myself and got Chau as my facialist. As soon as she called my name she was up literally next to me and grabbing my arm and touching my back to direct me. She walked side by side the whole time while she directed me to the restroom all the while touching my arm regularly. I've never met her so a little space would be nice. I thought the signature facial would be the same no matter who did it but alas Chau's version was not what I'm used to. There was no steaming, and a lot more face and décolleté massage. I'm used to facials where there was product after product applied. This was definitely heavy on just the massage part. There was no introduction to the products used or what to expect either. At one point a stinging, smelly fermented product was applied that made my nose and eyes sting. A warning would be appreciated or even an option to omit since the product smelled rancid like old yeast. She was also pretty hasty with application of product and I think some product got into my eye as my eyes were irritated afterwards. The massage was also pretty strong (so not as relaxing) and she used a device to apply product that felt like it had a sharp edge that had me tense the whole time that she'd nick something. Usually after a facial at Yuan my face is feeling light but I didn't have the same lightness this time. Even when I was walking out her hand was on my arm touching me. If you're going for a facial I would not recommend Chau. read more

My husband surprised me with a 90 minute massage at Yuan Spa in Bellevue, for my birthday. I had always wanted to try this place out and it was even better than I imagined that it would be. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted and if it's your first time there, staff will assist you if you are undecided in what you want. Yuan Spa has fresh refreshments when you enter and lots of little things to look at and you can buy any of it, if you would like to add it to your massage or whatever service that you are getting done at the time. This was my first time visiting the Bellevue location! I received a deep tissue massage which was fantastic, and then did a hydrotherapy session. I was surprised how much I liked this location as I previously only went to the Kirkland location prior. I absolutely loved the dim lighting and dark, woody colors within the hydrotherapy room. The hot tub was also deliciously hot, more so than the Kirkland location which I was ecstatic about. Oddly enough though the sauna wasn't hot at all? I had to stand really closely to the stones in order to get some heat. I'm hoping it was just a one time snafu. Overall, I definitely will be back! read more

The membership gives me a great deal on coming once a month with a good friend, plus alternating between treatments from my two favorite specialists. Desmond is a wizard when it comes to unlocking tension and soothing knots. Admittedly, sometimes the deep-tissue work can be slightly painful--but I ALWAYS benefit for weeks afterwards. So I go back again and again and again for his miraculous help. I've never before had a bodywork provider who could relieve my chronic tailbone pain, plus uncover and alleviate countless other aches. I also appreciate how Desmond explains the muscular and skeletal connections, and advises me on how I can best care for my body between sessions. Taylor is a queen when it comes to treating my skin during her intensive and uber-relaxing facials. She always provides thoughtful recommendations for treatments to help my issues, then goes through each step with soothing movements. I went to the spa prior to my facial treatment to experience the hydrotherapy circuit, and it was perfect on a Thursday afternoon--quiet, calm, and smelled sooo good. I did a couple rounds of the hydrotherapy (probably quicker than I was supposed to, but omg cold plunges are COLD!), and then had a great facial (I can't remember my facialist but she was delightful and I was glowing for days afterwards!). The only downside is that they are an electronics-free facility, which I wish I would've known before the day of--fully supportive, but I didn't bring a book and was by myself for the entirety of the hydrotherapy so I didn't have anything to read! Definitely my bad, but just giving you a heads up now to bring your physical book, no e-readers [if they have a camera] or phones! read more

I'm usually really picky about spas and cleanliness, but this place is spotless, which is surprising considering the number of people that come through the place. I went here for hydrotherapy and had a great experience! Checkin was quick and easy and I was happy that I was able to use their online booking. Upon arrival, I was given a tour and they had a locker pre stocked with a towel, robe, and shoes for me to wear in the spa room. I came from yoga and my yoga mat fit in the locker. The hydrotherapy area is nice, but I do prefer the one in Kirkland. This one is dark and serene and has two saunas, a cold shower, and two pools. I wish the cold plunge were colder- it was the temp of a swimming pool. They say to keep your voices down in hydrotherapy, but everyone there was with friends and talking at full volume, which wasn't too relaxing but I wasn't bothered enough to complain. I wish they would have offered more towels! My towel was pretty wet after hydrotherapy and I wanted to shower off after, but really could have used a fresh towel. This was odd to me. I would come back to hydrotherapy if I booked a service and got the discounted rate. read more

I've been a member with Yuan Spa for several years and have generally been very satisfied with their service. The massage therapist I had today was good as well, and I appreciate her professionalism - this star is a credit to her. However, I had a very disappointing experience this time. I specifically asked for a massage using CBD oil, but halfway through, the therapist noticed that the scent didn't seem right -- it turned out that the bottles were mislabeled. The one labeled as "CBD oil" was actually fat burning elasticizing oil, so she unknowingly used the wrong product, which was not her fault. When I checked out, I discovered that I was double charged -- once for the CBD oil and once for the elasticizing oil -- even though it was their mistake. When I brought this up at the front desk, they insisted the charge was correct because both oils had been used on me. Though they agreed to refund the extra charge to me, I found their attitude dismissive and their handling of the situation unacceptable. As a long-time member, I'm very disappointed that they would charge a customer for a labeling mistake they made. I'm also fortunate that I haven't had any allergic reaction to the misused oil -- but what if another guest were allergic to it? That could have been serious. This experience really damaged my trust in their quality control and customer care. read more

The water circuit was fabulous. Just incredible. I came in for a girl's night with my mom, sister, and niece. We got set up with lockers, robes, sandals, and towels upon arrival and set up for the water circuit. The circuit goes like this: Hot pool Cold pool Salt scrub Steam room Cold drench shower Sauna Hot pool I was too much of a wimp to fully drench myself with the cold shower, and just sort of half assed in (literally), but I did the rest completely. They were all heavenly and so relaxing. This was especially good for my mom. My dad passed away two months ago and we've all been extremely sad, but no one more tense and stressed than her dealing with widowhood. She's been carrying physical pain and tension and really did say it melted away and felt lifted after the treatments. She's the reason I suggested this in the first place, so I'm so glad it did. Will definitely return. It was a lovely experience. Also, the price was really reasonable - $59 for an hour (which was enough time to do the full hydrotherapy circuit). read more

I've had nothing but great experiences. I've been coming here like clockwork every month for almost three years with a friend (and have brought friends and family over that time) it has contributed a lot to my health and reduced pain. Front desk are friendly, professional and very helpful! Of the massage therapists I've seen, Desmond most recently really helped me with my hip--I felt so much better after even just one session with him. Really precise work. Evan has been helping me with my neck for a while and Gary has one of the most interesting and effective styles is you like firm pressure. I have nice things to say about basically everyone (Tysley I've only seen once but VERY positive memories of that experience as well). I also got to do two facials here as well, both with Chau and she is a WIZARD. I was worried I'd be all red afterward with my sensitive skin but I looked and felt radiant! Hydrotherapy is always a wonderful time. This spa smells amazing, everything is clean and well maintained. My favorite is the beautiful steam room, eucalyptus steam, nice and dark with glittery lights that look like stars overhead. Its SO relaxing, although the dry heat sauna with a nice cool lemongrass towel on your face is no slouch. This is my go-to spa and I think I'll have very tough time finding somewhere similar in my next home. My husband and myself received a gift card to go in for massages. It was suggested that we make sure we arrived at least 15 minutes early to make sure we were ready and had time to enjoy the relaxation area. We were excited to try this place out and arrived 30 minutes early. We were asked a few questions and guided to the waiting place. Minimal effort was put into this room. When it was 10 minutes past our time my husband got a text asking if we were on our way. The front desk had not actually signed us in. I asked and was assured that we would still get the full 60 minute massage. My husband was given his massage, but my masseuse decided to cut about 10 minutes off mine as I was "late" I feel cheated and after all that was told my massage would be at a discount. What good does that do when it doesn't leave enough for any service on the gift card. read more

It was a spectacular evening. I was taking care of a friend post operation and needed an evening where I could relax for a couple hours and get away. I called in the evening of, to see if there was any availability and openings. I needed a body treatment and the body scrub sounded sublime. I don't regret it. Unfortunately I forget the name of my lady who did a phenomenal job, but I assume, every person here is exceptional. Upon walking in, the ambience is welcoming and calming. I was greeted and filled out paperwork. Shortly after, I was taken into the room. I was surprised how big and spacious the spa was. There were a lot of elements to it. Once I got situated, the entire scrub was comfortable and soothing. It felt good. I was escorted afterwards to the waiting area. There I enjoyed tea and light snacks. I went into the steam room and got sauna. Both were incredible. The pool and jacuzzi area looked so nice but I had lotion on, post treatment, and didn't want to rinse it off. I haven't done any individual services, but have been a couple of times for hydrotherapy. This place is awesome! I really like the quiet, reflective nature that they promote in the hydro spa. Lots of attention to detail in providing water, lemongrass cold towels for the sauna, and a world salt tray for the steam room. No cold plunge but there is a cold plunge shower! The relaxation room is also great for before/after your time in the spa. The locker rooms are also surprisingly nice for a spa, and i love the eucalyptus spray in the showers. I also really appreciate that they provide robes that fit larger bodies, as that isn't always the case elsewhere. My only real complaint is how tricky parking can be, but if you come 15-20 minutes early you can usually snag a spot in the small garage, or nearby street parking. Will be back many times! read more

My girlfriends arranged a bachelorette activity at Yuan Spa for me and we had such an amazing time! We had a group reservation for hydrotherapy from 10-11, followed by our own individual massage services. The hydrotherapy pools are spacious, the scent at this spa is AMAZING, and my favorite room was the eucalyptus steam room. After hydrotherapy we got to enjoy the relaxation room before being whisked away by our respective massage therapists. Desmond gave me an amazing Swedish massage and was a very holistic provider, asking me about any injuries or aches, and even giving me tips on opening up and stretching my muscles in the future. It was a lovely morning at Yuan Spa and I will definitely come back if I'm in the area! The hydrotherapy was kinda fun. First you sit in the hot tub, cool tub, steam room with a salt scrub (my fav) I did it twice, cold drench shower and man was it cold right after the steam room, sauna and back into the hot tub. You can do whatever you want but the cool pool was actually really refreshing. They also had lemon water to keep you hydrated which was a bonus. Clean locker rooms and you can shower after. If I lived on the east side I would buy a monthly package. I added a picture of what is offered. Too bad! I suggest checking it out. I'll probably go back at some point. read more

My group and I were together in the pool room and an associate came out several times to scold us for being too loud. I understand it is a quiet room, but we were the only ones there, and the way she phrased it I thought was quite rude. Instead of asking us politely to keep it down, she treated us like children and told us, "Ladies, you need to be quiet!" It very much felt like we were being scolded. I found that very stressful when I was trying to relax. I was considering joining the monthly spa program, but I found that lady to be not conducive to a soothing spa experience. She could have delivered the same message in a much more polite way. I don't plan on returning. read more

I have a health concern that makes me especially vulnerable to colds and the flu--if I catch something, I get seriously sick. I booked this massage hoping to get some rest and relief, but when I arrived, my therapist sounded like he might be sick. He did explain himself, and I won't go into detail out of respect for his privacy. I want to be clear despite this negative review on the spa: I felt very sorry. If he ever sees this, I hope he knows I truly felt bad for declining the service and how it might make him feel. It wasn't personal--it was for my own peace of mind and health. I have to err of the cautious side for my own wellbeing. What upset me was how the front desk and manager handled the situation. They insisted on charging me under the cancellation policy, even though I showed up and explained my concerns calmly and respectfully. I had taken time off work and driven all the way there--I didn't cancel last minute or fail to show up. I was put in an uncomfortable position and treated like I did something wrong, when in reality I was just looking out for my well-being. This isn't the first time I've declined a massage on-site. At another place years ago, I once found the sheets unclean with blood stain and chose not to proceed even after they promised to make it right. I just felt uncomfortable and wanted to walk away. They understood and let me walk away without charging me. That's how it should be treated. Instead, I was told I wouldn't be welcome back as a client because I refused the charge. If that's what they decide, so be it and I don't want to come back either. But I needed to say something here, because how this was handled was really unfair. read more

There is street parking around this location. It is close if you want to walk from a hotel on Bellevue Way. The check in takes about 5-10 minutes as you will fill out a form on an iPad. The waiting/relaxation area where you meet the person who is providing your services is small and can seat maybe 6 people comfortably. There were lots of people standing around so while the space is nice with the fire, drinks (water and tea) and some snacks if there are lots of people it's not relaxing for everyone. I had a male massage therapist and he was great. He was super thoughtful when it came to adjust the temperature of the bed, the neck cradle and throughout the massage when asking about pressure. The massage was great and I added the cupping option. I was definitely sore when I got up but overall felt much better. The rooms were nice and private.
