I came here for a mani with a friend who had made appointments for us. (It didn't seem as though appointments were necessary though when we got there). I rarely ever treat myself to a mani, so we made sure to choose a place with high reviews. The mani itself was pretty standard - the lady who did my nails was friendly and she took her time, and the place was pretty bright, new and clean. Cost: $15 - normal. There was also a good selection of colors on nail swatches, so you can pretty much see exactly what your nails are going to look like before you commit to a color instead of just guessing off a bottle of polish. My friend and I left pretty satisfied. The twist is what happened just two days after - nails already started chipping, and after five days they were so bad I ended up just taking off the polish (see photo). I was disappointed because I expected the color to last at least a week, especially since I wasn't hard on my nails. Also, my friend's nails turned out similarly so it wasn't just me. I live in Seattle and have tried many salons but haven't found one I loved so I thought I would try one in Bellevue. I came to Paradise because of the amazing reviews. A lot of salons do not do fills any more. Hai was more than willing to do a fill for me. Hai is so sweet and makes sure every nail is perfect. Often times salons in Seattle tend to do acrylics very thick, this is not the case at Paradise. They had many gel colors to chose from and the salon was very clean. I have now gone back twice for fills and will get a pedicure next time I go. The customers in the salon all seem to be regulars. I got a gel french manicure and regular pedicure since I'm a bridesmaid for my friend's upcoming wedding. French mani was even and nails were shaped perfectly. The other thing I like is that they paint all the way up to the cuticle unlike some places that deceptively leave 2mm of space. nThe service was wonderful, they have a refreshment station right at the entrance. I originally went to Andy's nail salon down the street but they told me I had to wait 45 mins.. no thanks. Glad I saw this place though! They are having a 20% any services for their grand opening. Worst service by far. Walked in for just a polish change mid-day on a Wednesday. There was a strong smell of some kind of fish lingering and only the two owners inside. I was told to sit down after he threw the color options down on the table, he quickly took my current polish off then I was pressured to choose a new color quickly. I asked if I could add a simple bow design and I was told no so I decided that I would go somewhere else and just pay for the nail polish she had removed. He told me that it would still be $8 even without color because he had (hastily) filled and buffed my nails and used his "good" base coat. I decided to add the color if it was going to be the same price. He added 2 coats of color and didn't wait for them to dry before putting 2 coats of top coat. The polish came out clumpy and it started melted to one side while drying. It took forever to not even dry, I was kicked off the chair after I was told "it would dry outside" but to be careful because they didn't have time to fix it (even through there was literally no other customers there!) when I pointed out that it was uneven and clumpy I was told that it was my nail doing that. TERRIBLE customer service they do not greet you when you enter the place smelled the smoke from the guy smoking cigarettes I sat down overlooking the first few red flags finally a manicurist sat me down in her chair and began removing my acrylic nails ... took her an hour just to get them off because she wanted to talk on the phone and text the whole time .... once my nails were off the guy who didn't greet me when I walked in begun working on my nails doing what you would call an "over lay" (putting acrylic over your natural nails) he was very ruff , dirty finger nails , took smoke break , even caught an attitude when I pointed out some of them flaws in my nails such as lumps in the acrylic despite the fact he had already made my cuticles bleed ... needless to say I wouldn't recommend at all terrible ... beautiful shop tho read more

The ladies here are very friendly and speaks great English. They are also very accommodating since both my friend and I walked in half an hour before closing without reservations and they were able to take us in. We did have to sit in the chairs with the water running for at least 15 minutes before someone was able to help us but without reservations, that was expected and I was just glad they allowed us to sit in the massage chairs to wait instead of in the waiting area. The main reason for the 3 stars is because I feel like the lady doing my nails was not as careful as the lady doing my friend's nails. She used the cuticle cutter to cut my nails also which caused the overall nail shape to be more jagged than smooth. She also didn't ask me what shape I preferred and just started clipping. On my left big toe, I feel like she clipped way too much from the corner as it hurt for a good 3 days after the pedicure. It's been a week since then so its all good now and there was no infections. I also think that since she used the cuticle cutter to cut my nails, she could have shaped it better with a nail file but that was very lightly and haphazardly done. In the end, I got the shellac pedi and it was $40. I've had much more expensive and much cheaper Pedi's in my life so I would say this was average service for a bit more expensive than I expected (maybe its just Bellevue pricing!). The shellac is also starting to peel on one of my big toes and its only been a week. I might have to just fix this one at home. read more

I'm not gonna lie, my cuticles are a piece of work. I went in for a mani mainly for the cuticle care and a trim. $15 for a mani and color. I came out with dry hands and a botch clear coat. Hai was on the phone for the first five or so minutes of the mani, and while the trim and file looks nice, he didn't pay as much attention to my cuticles as he could have. While applying the clear coat, he continued to use the cuticle nippers, making divots in the polish but just putting more polish on top?? Decided to dry my nails with a little fan that totally dried out my skin and no lotion afterwards, not to mention one or two nails weren't even completely dry. The next morning I am going to have to remove whatever they put on my nails. Don't recommend for even a basic manicure. read more
