Dao is an INCREDIBLE nail artist. My nails last until they grow out which can be 1-2 months sometimes and they never chip, peel, lift or crack. She does such a detailed job and when it comes to art or designs she always takes her time and hears me out on what I want. She's also great to chat with and a lovely person. read more

Read the reviews, I should've read them first. They talk loud. And right by your ear too. Pay $80 for a not so relaxing time and a 2 hour long service for dipping and a "design" . Up to you if you'd like to come here. read more

Van Nails - Van just created some new mani/pedi experiences. I tried the Milk and Honey pedicure today and it was amazing. I highly recommend! - Nail Salons Near Me - Issaquah, Washington

Van did a beautiful job on my dip powder manicure after the previous nail salon was a disappointment. She took extra effort to make sure to dip all the way to the cuticle so it did not look like 2 weeks of grow out when I left the salon, nor has there been any lift whatsoever after a month (my pet peeves ). Very happy that I found someone nearby who could give me the same quality as I have been experiencing out of state. read more

They were extremely rude proceeded to ask me if I had enough to cover the style that I wanted I let it be known that I had the money for it as they worked on my style. The stylist was rough I asked the nail tech. Could she change a specific part of my nails multiple times because it was messed up and she told me "no " the lady who owns the nail salon told me it was $115 for the style that I wanted and then was done with my nails try yo make me pay extra as I try to pay for it Apple Pay wouldn't work so she told me to go to the bank and get cash. I told her no and I used my debit card and they proceeded to tell me why don't I leave a tip? and I told her because the customer service was rude and she slapped the receipt on the counter. read more

As with any nail salon I feel like you can get them on a good day or a bad day. Once I went here and was treated great. The next time (with an appointment that I waited over an hour after the appointment) they were terrible. My husband had been soaking for a pedicure while I was trying to decide to leave. He was soaking for at least 30 minutes and they finally moved me to an open table where I sat for another 20+ minutes. They cut up his cuticles and didn't quite get his nails trimmed as needed. My mani was just okay. In sure I had a bit of an attitude after having an appointment that was not taken into account. Again it's always hit or miss wherever you get your nails done I swear. So I am off to find a new place. I do love Gene Juarez but it is super pricey and even there it's hit or miss. Not trying to pay $100 for a gel mani that is ok. Good luck to those that enjoy this place. They do seem to be nicer to those loyal. My 3rd time there they knew me and were nice (and a walk in) that saw others with appointments wait for a long time. The last time I had gone to another salon and the owner gave me shade about it. Like I owe them loyalty. read more

I came in today to try them out since my normal salon had messed up my nails the last two times. It's was time to find a new place. First off let me start by saying my nails look great. I don't know the ladies name that did them but she did a good job. I'm used to my nail tech so we had some moments of her changing what I'm used to but that's expected. The review is solely on the atmosphere and vibe. I left there feeling like I was in some weird dream. They had the cooking channel going (volume way up), loud music I couldn't understand, the 3 woman were speaking loudly to each other in Vietnamese and to top it off also played videos on their phones with the volume all the way up. I have never felt like walking out mid service but today I wanted to. If it wasn't for my nails needing to be finished I would've left. The shop is clean for the most part but if you get your nails done to relax and enjoy...this is not your place. Glad I didn't do a pedi. I would come back in a pinch but maybe bring my headphones so I can't hear the chaos. Also I get they speak Vietnamese but generally they try to include you in some of the convo so you don't feel like they are talking about you. This place needs a manager for sure. Thanks for the nails but I drove all the way home with no music to soothe my mind after read more

Went in for a pedicure. Very un-relaxing environment! Small space with poor ventilation - gave me a massive headache! My first time here, and I'm very happy with the way Van did I my nails. She listened and shaped them exactly how I like them!

Friendly, welcoming, and they do an outstanding job. Secure an appointment with them if you can because they can get really busy (understandably) and wait times can be long. I love Van and Dao. They are perfectionists. I've never gotten acrylics done by them but have seen other people get them done and they are flawless. read more

I called inquiring about a walk in appointment and was told I would be able to come right away! I came in wanting a new full set of acrylics, and left with that plus a pedicure. Just to note, I had about an hour and a half to get a full set before needing to return back to work and the ladies were so accommodating. The pedicure was $45 and took about an hour. Full set was $70 due to gel and design It was a little pricier compared to other nail salons, but the ladies here pay extra attention to detail and take their time. Well worth paying a little extra than going elsewhere read more

Do not recommend getting a pedicure here!!!! I went on Friday with a friend. While she got her shellac set filled and repainted I decided to get a basic pedicure. The next morning I woke up with a horrid infection on my big toe. At the time of the pedicure I vocalized to the nail technician that she was hurting me while "trimming my cuticle". She ignored me insisting I was fine and "just being sensitive". My toe has been throbbing and swelling. I have been in pain since the pedicure took place. read more

My daughter and I went for mani padi there today. The person filled the bins with cold water and never came to check. They did a horrible job cleaning the feet. It looks drier than before and they took more people than they could accommodate. They asked us to get up and had no empty chairs for us to sit even when our nail polish had not dried. Horrible experience. Never going back there. The products they use are also sub standard and on top of it they asked us to tip more. read more

I was in right away and my nails look great! However the experience was uncomfortable and disappointing. It was very loud and chaotic, it's a nail shop so I completely get it. However I had 3-4 people rotate during my nail services. One removed polish, one prepped and someone else polished during my mani and pedi. I've had people switch during services before but never this many times. I recognize they were busy so I just went with the flow. When it was time to pay I selected the 20% tip and the lady made it a point to be VERY loud so EVERYONE could hear that multiple people had worked on my nails so 40% is more appropriate. I felt bullied, shamed and it was down right shady. I didn't have a say with how they decided to rotate multiple people. I will not be going back. I'll stick to my other place. read more

Dao did an INCREDIBLE job on my nails! Seriously the best dip nails I've ever had. It was clear from the start how talented Dao is, she is so precise and my nails have never looked better. I've always wanted acrylic nails, but have been scared to pull the trigger. I finally felt up to it and called Van Nails to see if they could get me in, and I am so glad I chose them. I have now been visiting them religiously for just over two months. Every time I go, Van does the BEST nails and nail art, and Dao gives a FABULOUS pedicure. They are both so sweet and I never feel pushed to go out of my comfort zone. I take awful pictures of my nails, but have been in love with with every single set that I have gotten. They do fantastic work juggling the continuous inflow of customers, and they always make me feel like a valued customer. First photo is what I asked for, following photos are what I got. I've been a customer for some time now and never had a problem until last nights visit. I mentioned I wanted to keep the length on my acrylic set, but Van then proceeded to shave them down. I asked if she would be fixing them and she said she didn't have a mold to fix them. In an annoyed tone, she proceeded to say that my nails will just grow into that length and all will be fine eventually. These are not the nails I asked for. The appointment was taking a long time as it was so I told her to just proceed. But then the glitter part happened. She proceeded to pile on the glitter for the design causing the nails to be bubbly. I asked if she could fix this ( I'm a beauty professional and have had glitter on nails before and its not supposed to have a bumpy turnout) but she proceeded to tell me it's not possible to work around this and couldn't understand what was wrong. I had to take turns with her in buffing my nails to fix the situation. At this point I was there for 2 and a half hours and I was over it. Not to mention she was on her phone most of the time she was doing my nails so she seemed very distracted the whole time. Still not fair to the customer. I just wanted to leave. Paid, tipped. When I got home, I couldn't ignore how this was not what I asked for. I called Van asking for a new set and she proceeds to argue with me saying I asked for shorter nails, when I specifically did not. I was dead set on maintaining my nail length that day. Then she says if I want my nails done over, she's going to charge me $35 to fix them. She said my options are get a color change for free or have a new set for $35 more, that was it. I told her I was never returning and she said-she didn't care. I was shocked and honestly very disappointed to be treated that way. I will not be returning. read more

This is the WORSE nail salon I have EVER been to. I went in for a DIP manicure and the place didn't have much of a selection of colours so I should've turned around and walked out. The lady didn't even know what she was doing, she cured them under a blue light which is the WRONG way to do it. My nails started chipping on the 4th day. I went back and told the lady that I wanted my money back and she refused. No wonder they encourage you to pay in cash. Now I have to go to my usual place this week and fork over another $55.00. thank God they are opened back up. I'm fucking pissed. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! A correct dip manicure lasts up to 1 month. Not unless this place is scamming people. I think she just thought up a price for me. $45,???? Are you fucking kidding me? read more

I'm not one to write bad reviews, but for the sake of warning others, I will absolutely not be returning to the salon. After showing a picture of what I wanted, and ensuring that the salon could do the ombré dip nails, I was left with the lumpiest, thickest, most uneven nails. The color was also so far off the picture, I asked them to paint over the ombré. The process was also 2hrs long, which is by far the longest I've ever sat in front of a nail tech. After the first hour, another tech checked on the gal doing my nails, and they switched spots so the other tech could try and fix them, after she noticed how terrible it looked. I paid $70 for this disaster. Long story short, it was not fixable, so I went directly to another salon to have them removed after my appointment. I'm not sure if I had a new tech or something, but ensuring that you can do a service, and then completely failing after two hours, and charging $70, left me with a terrible experience. read more

I thought long and hard about posting a review for this place. As a business owner myself I hate negative publicity. But after reading what other people experienced I feel it's needed. The service I received was shellac polish on my hands and regular polish pedicure on my toes. I was charged $130, and tipped $10 because I was extremely unhappy. The women who polished my toes literally put polish over the entire nail and my skin and wiped it off with acetone. A month goes by and I finally take the polish off my toes and now I have a fungus issue on the nails. To say the establishment is dirty is an understatement, they shouldn't be in business after this. Not only that but my finger nail gel polish didn't last an hour. And I was asked if the $10 tip was really all I was leaving for both of them. I'm embarrassed of what my toes look like right now, or else I would post a picture. This is a health departments nightmare. read more

Perfect nail art! I showed Van a picture online of the nails I wanted and my nails look identical to the photo I showed her! She was so sweet and studied the photo, she pays a lot of attention to detail and made sure that my left hand matched the right hand. The shape of my nails is also perfect and smooth! Everyone in the salon is very kind! I will only be getting my nails done at this salon from now on :) 10/10 recommend this place! read more

Great place. It can get super busy. Some days I think it's better to have an appointment, but for the most part when I have just shown up there is always a spot or a short wait. Prices seem fair for Issaquah. I usually get shellac manicure and a regular pedicure and the polish lasts a good 3 weeks. Super friendly staff. Clean establishment. read more

I've been going to Van for 6+ years, since well before she took over at her current location and I have always been extremely happy with her service. I followed her from her former employer to her current salon on Gilman. That's how happy I am with her service. I used to do acrylics and pedicures regularly but then during covid lock down I was forced to give up my beloved acrylics which at the time, was very scary for me. Now I do regular manicure and pedicures and although it was hard to go without the acrylics during covid I have gotten used to the simple natural appearance of my nails so I'm not going back to acrylics any time soon. I rarely make an appt., preferring to walk-in as my schedule allows, sometimes I have to come back later that day if they are super busy or sometimes the next day but I have the flexibility to do that and without the acrylics, having to get in for an appt. is less urgent. Van always does exactly as I ask, she has never injured me despite a very challenging area of extra skin on my pinkie toe where she always has to spend extra time, and she is always concerned that I am happy with her service. (I had been injured on my fingers and toes multiple times at other salons around Issaquah before I discovered Van) Cash is king as always but she will take a cc if you absolutely must use a cc, consider adding an extra $2 for her cc service fee. Yes, her prices have risen but they have risen everywhere and nail salons and the lovely women who work there have to pay their bills too so be generous with your tipping and with your grace when sometimes met with language barrier or other cultural issues. read more
