I took my friend in to media nails and didn't have a great experience. It took over 2 hours for my nails even though they were short and one color. The acrylic nail itself is already chipping and I got them done last week. it was so much more expensive than it should have been, so overall not coming back. read more

I normally go to Zen but lately it's been so busy I decided to try Media Nails based on good recent reviews and a recommendation from a friend. I went at 3 pm on a Saturday to get a pedi and was welcomed by very friendly staff who made sure I was comfortable. They even brought me water which was nice touch. I was only customer the entire time which is fine by me! They did a very good job and were very thorough with pedi taking their time and making sure my ugly beat up toes looked good! Van is very good at fixing ingrown toenails. It may pinch a bit but trust me, you're in good hands. I was very pleased. Update: April 3, 2015 It's pedi season! I'm back again at Media nails and very happy. Staff as friendly and accommodating as ever. Make sure I'm comfortable and happy, plus a great pedi as always. Media Nails is under new management. I visited approximately 10 days ago and received a gel manicure and pedicure. This was my first time receiving gel and I was a bit nervous as I am hell on my hands and nails (I paint and refinish furniture as a hobby, plus clean up after 3 messy boys!) The salon was very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and took the time to make me comfortable and ask about my psoriasis on my legs instead of looking at me as if I were a leper. The new management at Media Nails wants you to be comfortable and relaxed when you come in for a procedure. The price is great and the owner even told me she would fix any problems that may arise with my nails during the second week (in between manicures) because I am a healthcare worker. I thought this was a great and kind gesture! Additionally, I had my eyebrows waxed and haven't had them done in quite some time. It was a virtually painless experience and the result was very nice. I would highly suggest giving them a chance as they seem to prioritize hygiene, offer a great product and try to make the consumer comfortable and happy. read more

I have gone here twice. I got dip nails last time and they did a terribly job. The area near my cuticle wasn't filed to an angle, it jutted out so after a few days of growth my hair kept getting stuck under the cuticle area of my nails. That had never happened to me before with dip but I think they were just so busy when I get it that she didn't buff the nails well. I remember thinking that but didn't realize the long term side effects! :) It was annoying. Second time I got acrylic to see how they did. I love dip but it's so expensive and there is no reason for it. I looked up the brand of dip powder they use and it's literally $6 so why $30 (and this is everywhere) for a dip mani! Anyway, I left with my fingers hurting so much from all the drilling on my nails to prepare them and then buff them. It was and still in uncomfortable about 12 hours later. I'm not planning to go back there unless it's just a polish change or something. Also- their price list is all over the place and many of the prices aren't even right which, it's your menu of prices, it should be right. I just feel like I can't find a nail salon that listens to what I say and does it. It's always no no no you can't do that or I saw I want no color and they keep asking. This place was no different. I am very particular about my nails which is why I've been having a hard time but I want someone to actually listen to what I want and not just keep going with the way they always do it. read more

I love this place. I used to go to Empire but I think they changed owners so after a bad experience I decided to come here. This was a great decision, I got a full set SNS my daughters usually get the gel. They turn out fantastic every time and last a long time. The owner is so sweet and does my nails everytime. I haven't got the pedicure yet maybe next visit, my 2 daughters are frequents in the salon. Its inexpensive with really good work. read more

I have been thrilled with the attentiveness and service of this staff! I have walked in, no appointment, for a regular manicure and the staff has been welcoming, accommodating, attentive to every detail, and eager to please me. My nails looked great and lasted just about a week before they started chipping. The place is clean, organized, and well taken care of. The staff cleans up a mess right after it happens (I.e. Clipping my nails and cleaning them up before starting the next step). Even when more customers come in, they are welcoming, friendly, and communicate with each other and the customers to give the customers the best experience and manage time effectively. Also, they are a steal of a deal. My manicure costs $10 and I tipped $2. French manicure is a couple dollars extra. read more

I have been a client at Media Nails since they first opened. I am very particular with respect to my nails. I have ALWAYS,without fail,been extremely satisfied with the quality of service. The atmosphere is calm, friendly and professional. I am always offered tea, coffee or water. There is no assembly line feeling what so ever. For Christmas the owner gave me a beautiful scarf one year. My personal name was on the card. Who does this in today's world of business? I'll tell you who. The exceptional staff at MEDIA NAILS. I stopped in on a Wednesday night after work. I was in town on business and was looking to relax for a bit before heading back to my hotel. The massage chair was standard, but comfortable at the end of a long day. The woman gave great effort to make conversation and ensure I was comfortable. My pedicure was cheap ($25) and my feet/toes look great! Plenty of color options! My only complaint was that I didn't bring anything with me to drink and she didn't offer any water or anything. She did provide several suggestions for me to pick up dinner on my way to the hotel. That was appreciated and proved to be a good suggestion! I will go back the next time I am in town! I wanted to support a new business close to me, so I brought my 2 stepdaughters here to get mani/pedis. We were only going to do 3 pedi's and 1 mani but the owner did a good job of upselling, which was fine when we knew there was a special for both at $28.00. She also made sure to ask the girls if they wanted a flower design on their fingers and toes, which literally took the daughter 5 minutes to do. The one woman was definitely the owner, and her co-worker was almost definitely her younger daughter, who was very sweet btw. I was at first a little perturbed by the lack of time the owner took on my pedi and what really irked me was that she didn't put a top coat on any of our nails. Okay, so I go to pay and she says it's $96.00, which I was trying to understand in my head, but I figured it was my fault for not asking how much everything was going to be at the time they were offered. I also know that there is a rule that you aren't expected to tip the owner of an establishment, which I usually ignore if it's a hair salon, but a nail salon is really ONLY charging for the service, correct? I decided that the tip, whether it was or not, was included in the larger than expected price. As I'm walking out, the owner actually said, "What you're not going to tip us?"(really loud) I said, "oops I thought it was included!" and threw down about $7 So, here's the rest of your tip, don't ask for something that's not mandatory especially when you did a less than average job and unneccessarily over pressured us to get more than we came in for. read more

I tried this place a few times. I wanted to love it. I went and the owner, who is very nice, did my nails the first time and they were incredible. When I went back, it shifted to more of an assembly line style. One person filed, the other took old gel off, the other painted. I hated it. I valued consistency. I asked the owner if I made appointments could I only deal with her. She said yes. I went back and the same thing happened! I was so upset. I tried one more time, same thing!! Not to mention the one man who does the filing, or whatever part of the assembly he is needed at, smokes cigarettes constantly and he stinks. Not appreciated when your in my face and on my nails. I read good reviews and thought I'd try it. I was the only one in there and a second person came in for a manicure. The 2 women who were doing nails were switching back and forth doing my SNS powder and my pedicure. Literally, switching back in forth between myself and another customer! Massage was one minute on pedi! The SNS was NOT done correctly! My thumb nail looks like someone's bad complexion with craters! NEVER going back there! I am sorry I went. I wanted a quick mani pedi for an interview and came away with a really substandard manicure. I walked in and asked the women, presumably the owner, if she was done her cell phone conversation. The place had a funky smell, the magazines were 3 years out of date and kind of grimy, and the bathroom was gross. Tried Media Nails for the first time today. I normally go to Zen but they were packed and I couldn't wait. Media Nails was extremely clean. I was greeted immediately and my pedicure began as soon as I picked a color. My pedicure is one of the best I've ever had.. The new management is new and improved. I live in the area and wanted to try this place now that it had new management. I didn't go in when the old management was there, because when I walked by, it looked dirty (trash thrown out the door, etc.). Anyway, I was impressed on my recent visit. Van took great care with my pedicure. I mentioned that I had an ingrown toenail removed in the past and was concerned about them cutting the cuticle there, and Van was very careful and gentle. She also spent a considerable amount of time making sure my feet were baby soft. Her two adorable little daughters were there with her husband, and the place had the feel of a nice family business. Van thanked me for coming in and seemed to really care about her customers. There is currently a 25% discount, so a pedicure is $20 instead of $25. I recommend giving this place a try. read more

Media nails is awesome! I have gone there a few times and always been really pleased with my experience. They are friendly and I feel comfortable and relaxed there. I went to the other nail salons on State street and they were not as good. At Zen nails, my gel mani chipped in a week. At China nails, my gel mani was very thick and clumpy. The girl at this salon (I don't know her name) I had both times takes her time and is very neat. I also really like the fact that they use hot towels, it feels spa like. She did a great job on my eyebrows too! I will be driving from Wayne to get my nails done here. :) read more
