I love Top Nails in Broomall. I use Jen (Jennifer) as my tech. She understands some unique issues with my nails and always does her very best to accommodate me. I generally get a dip manicure with the chrome topping, which I love and get many compliments on. The only downside of using Jen is that she must answer the phone calls when her husband is not in the shop, but she's worth the extra time. The pedicures at Top Nail are also very good. I usually don't leave negative reviews but it will be my first and last experience at this place. They have very old outdated colors and if you walk in, expect to pay the same price with a new technician who treats you like a guinea pig. I walked out with my new nails looking worse than my original outgrown gel manicure from my usual technician. I'm really sad to write this because this used to be my favorite place to go for nails before today. The staff were very unfriendly and the nail tech who did my nails was laughing/talking about me to the other nail techs. Never have I ever felt so humiliated and uncomfortable in a place where I'm supposed to feel my most calm and relaxed. It was so blatantly obvious what they were doing, but I kept my cool and ignored it. As soon as she finished my nails she looked at her colleague and made a face at her TWICE, to where the colleague started laughing and looking at me. I'm sorry but the whole experience was highly inappropriate and unprofessional and you will not catch me going back to this place. Pro tip: if you don't like the nail color your customer picks, you don't have to make fun of them for it. It's not your nails!! read more

So I'm not from the area I'm from NJ and I had been staying about 20 minutes away and in crazy need of a nail salon. While doing some research and reading reviews I decided to go here. I went in for a dip fill on my hands and regular pedi. I usually like to go early in the morning as soon as a place opens especially if it's new to me so I can get a feel of the place and instantly I loved it. Sweet employees, clean salon, many options for colors & I personally loved the atmosphere. Pedi was nice and Sunny did my nails. HE IS AMAZING. I'll be around for the next 8 weeks so when I come back for a fill this will absolutely be where I go. He's extremely sweet, professional & being that I have a lady I go to in NJ he made sure to work on my nails and do it exactly how I like it (honestly even better than where I go back home). He was vocal about how my nails will be healthier about dip which I agree and not a big price difference. Price - For a gel removal on my toes, regular color for the pedi & dip on my nails I paid a total of $68.00 this I found really good. I pay $80 back home for a mani/ pedi and I do no designs just regular colors. Extremely reasonable & worth the experience. read more

Had an appt for 10 am Saturday. Received an amazing pedicure from a lovely woman. Then I was informed that the woman who was working with me would be not be doing my manicure - but would be doing someone else's manicure - (a customer who just arrived) - and I would have to wait for another staff person. I was moved to a second station. After a 10 minute wait the owner asked me to move to his station and informed me he would do my manicure. He then moved to a different station to work with another customer. The salon got very busy - and the owner came to his station to do a very rushed manicure with me. He was taking phone calls the whole time telling people to come on in - despite the backlog of people now in the salon. I got shuffled around and had my staff switched - despite having an appointment - because of poor management and greed. read more

This has been by far the best nail salon experience i have ever had. Not only were my nails done and handled with care and professionalism, but the couple that run the shop, Sunny and his wife, are extremely sweet and welcoming. My friends and i were running late and they didn't mind extending our appointment time even though that meant they had to stay after closing hours to help us. Sunny was very considerate in catering my nails to all of my preferences. I got dipped power nails ($30) in color 100 with fake tips (+$5). They prefer cash tip! We're in the green phase and good news, Sunny and Jenny are back! And boy have they taken the well being of their staff and customers very seriously. Clear signage explaining how we're all to follow state mandated infection control guidelines, temp checks, 6ft distancing markers, and acrylic sneeze guards at every station. Hand washing before, during, and after. They all wear masks and eye protection. If they get busy you'll have to wait your turn in your car and you'll need to dry your nails on the go. The sign explains they needed to raise their prices to cover costs. I was happy to pay the few extra dollars to help this terrific small business hopefully stay in business. Besides, we all deserve a little self care rn! Angela was there to do my mani/pedi. Perfect as results as usual. I was so happy to see everyone. Smiles all around. Don't hesitate. I didn't want to write this review, but after seeing other people with the same experiences, felt like I had to. Scheduled an appointment a few months ago since my regular spa was booked. I called ahead and I was told to come in at my requested time. I waited for 30 minutes before they took me back. In that time, they took in 2 "regulars" immediately who came in after me. I didn't have much scheduled for that day so I was okay waiting. Once they took me back, a woman told me she'd be right with me. After 15 minutes of soaking my feet, she began a young girls pedicure after she decided she wanted her feet done like her mom (which is completely fine, but it was the same nail tech that told me she'd me right with me). Once I saw her start the pedicure, I dried off my feet, put my shoes on and began to leave. They tried stopping me, saying for a 5th time "someone will be right with you"! It seems they prioritize regulars over new customers which is a horrible way to run business if you're trying to gain clientele. Meanwhile in the 45 mins I tried to wait, there was a girl waiting just to simply get a nail chip fixed, the entire time. read more

Disappointed. Picked this place based on good reviews from regulars but I didn't have the experience they had. I've been getting Mani- pedi's for 20 years so I know how this should be. The Massage chairs are old and inconsistent. I've noticed this mentioned in other reviews. Mine stopped working twice. I mentioned that it didn't seem to be working and I was not offered any assistance in getting it restarted. Perhaps because it means they know that there are issues? Having a properly working massage chair while you're getting a pedicure is not a luxury anymore - it's something that's expected so when It didn't happen, I was majorly disappointed. Also,When I first tried to enter into the massage Chair, I couldn't find a way to lift the arm to get in safely and gracefully.I was offered no assistance in opening it up so that I could get into it. I'm not old and I don't have troubles getting in and out of massage chairs but when the arm won't go up that's a problem. The technician was sitting in the chair on the floor in front of me so she saw how hard it was to get in to but did nothing. Couple of other negatives: The technician was incredibly rough on my feet. While using the motorized buffer she kept pounding it into my feet which was uncomfortable. During the manual buffing process she used an incredibly small piece of buffer pad- a sliver really. Since It wasn't a full-size type buffer That is normally used at other salons, I believe that hindered her ability to hold onto it which made her have to be do my feet incredibly fast. As she was doing this she was hurting me because it was so fast and I had to ask her twice to stop. She hit the soft spot on the top of the foot a couple times and in between the toes a couple times and It really hurt. She heard "ouch" once and " wow that hurt" a second time. By this time she was already done so it didn't matter. Next, I was a surprised that she got the hot stones out as far in advance as she did but I thought maybe she knew something about the particular composition of the stones that maybe they needed to cool longer? No! By the time she applied the hot stones to the legs they were neither hot nor even warm. That was disappointing but what came next was even worse. She applied the same speed and pressure with the room temperature stones on my feet , toes, ankles and shins and a few time she hit the bones and it hurt. I've never had a pedicure that was so UN- relaxing. The manicure wasn't good. See pics. The neck and shoulder massage was nice. I inquired of my companion who sat next to me getting the same service simultaneously and she did not have a bad experience like I but she noted she saw what occurred with me. She reported to me that although she felt she had a better service she didn't think it was any better than any other service she had locally so she won't be coming back. Same for me. read more

I've visited this place twice. The first time, I got a pedicure and gel manicure. The place and equipment are old, but the technicians are nice and the price is low. Nails ended up looking great. I especially like how they shaped the nails- not too blunt and not too sharp on the sides. One week in, the gel started peeling from the top. Usually I can get two weeks in before I start to see any chips or peels. Most of the time, the gel holds and the only issue is the nail bed growing in. The second time, I went to get the gel removed. One technician set my fingers into the acetone/cotton-ball/aluminum tips. After 20 minutes in, my nails started to feel like burning. I asked the technician if it was time to take it off (it had already been much longer than my previous experiences), and he said another technician would get to it when she finished with another customer. After 30 minutes, she finally began taking off the tips. She used an old, clear acrylic nail to scrape (?? this was certainly a first), and she commented that it was near impossible to scrape off now since the acetone had dried. Not sure if it was miscommunication or just bad timing between the technicians, but it was a pretty bad experience. In the end, I was probably better off removing the gel on my own. At least it was only $5 though, right? Overall, this place is your average nail salon. Nothing that should turn you away, but nothing noteworthy either. Although my experience may be an outlier and not an example of their best work, I'll be finding another nail salon. read more

Sonny did a fantastic job on my boring nails. I was not sure what to go for, but I knew I wanted something natural looking and not too long to allow me to type fairly easy. I was considering French look but I'm a bit reluctant to it since my nails are a bit wide. So Sonny proposed American powder dip with a medium length and slightly rounded corners which turned out great! It's delicate and classy and better than anything else I could have suggested! Sonny was very courteous and polite and I felt he knew exactly what he was doing. Very professional! Customer service was also great and I was happy they managed to get me in the same day I called. I even got a shoulders massage while waiting for the topcoat to dry which made me feel extra spoiled! Their prices are also great and I'll definitely be returning! read more

Top Nails & Spa on West Chester Pike was nice enough for the quality of the end result. Ultimately, I am happy with the product, but the experience itself left something to be desired (least of which was time, but that's okay because staff was very nice!). The ambiance is fine for a nail salon. They took care to sterilize supplies and ask about your comfort. I liked this. It took them 30 minutes to get to my pedicure, this started after I was already in the spa chair with my feet in the water- which at that point turned room temp. Okay- poor start, that's fine. The floor was very slippery too, which I can get behind with a warning. Once they started, the pedicure was quick! And the end result was flawless. It was the experience that was poor. The spa chairs are OLD. Old leather and they are cracking. Also- my massager chair remote was all sorts of messed up. The bottoms were worn off completely, and twice it made a long high chirp. The lady told me to bang it hard on the chair to get it to stop. My first bang wasn't hard enough so I had to have a real good go. My manicure was fine. It was quick. No complaints. I even got a nice massage after! With a little investment in decor, this place can be worthy of 4/5 stars. I feel guilty doing 3, but hopefully it calls attention to timing and ambiance.
