I made an appointment for a polish change when my previous salon was unable to accommodate my request. My afternoon appointment was scheduled the day before for a polish change. I would suggest scheduling ahead. A few things to note: parking is available in front or in the back, Fume FREE, check-in tablet is available at the front desk, or the receptionist can check you in, customer service was great from my call to when I walked in the front door. The decor is very inviting and relaxing. It makes you want to pamper yourself. The polish selection covers every hue you can think of with various brands. My nail technician was extremely pleasant. She offered me a beverage once I was seated. My polish change was a 10/10. The waiting area is comfortable with seating and a flat screen tv. Pedicure seating looks very relaxing. Was very pleased with my experience at The Nail Bar in Newtown Square. I RARELY get my nails made up but I was fortunate enough to be given a gift card to this place for my birthday and decided it was a good time to cash it in since I was going to be a guest at a wedding. Although they have plenty of staff this place is smaller than most mani/pedi places I have been to before in the past. Very modern looking with nice white furniture and very clean looking pedi sinks. I went after work on a Friday so I figured it was going to be quite busy with everyone getting ready for weekend adventures. I read their website first that they do not take reservations but you can do call ahead. I was leaving work at 3:30pm so I called around 3 to put in a call ahead just incase. They told me my call ahead slot was around 5:30 pm. Not a big deal for me because I was in no rush but that could be a problem for some people who are light on time. When I arrived I checked in at the front desk and they told me they would get me when it was my turn. I was getting just regular nail polish and they had plenty of selections for both regular and gel manicures. I got the nail bar mani/pedi combo and I also go my eyebrows groomed. Although my call ahead time was for 5:30pm I was probably not taken until closer to 6pm. Even though they close at 7pm I did not feel that my manicurist rushed or did a bad job. She took her time and was very personable. If I regularly got my nails done I would definitely frequent this place more. Overall I thought my total bill was very reasonable. Some big CONS here are the no reservation policy and the parking lot sucks! I parked in the back but there was a lot of confusion when I initially tried to enter the parking lot with other cars moving around, and you can't go backwards because you are just backing up to a major highway. read more

I have gone here a couple of times and the staff is always friendly! Carly did my nails and I messed them up getting out my tip (my fault) and she insisted on fixing my nails before I left and was so kind. Sometimes your wait can be nothing and sometimes it can take a little bit, even with an appointment. But its certainly not for being ignored its simply based off of how busy they all are. I went here on a Monday morning with my mother. I called as soon as they opened to get on the 'call ahead list'. The receptionist answered the phone promptly and made us an appointment for the next hour. When I arrived, we only had to wait about 10 minutes to be taken back. I was worried about having a wait, since that seemed to be the biggest complaint on other reviews. I'm assuming since it was a Monday it was less busy than weekends or evenings. They offered us drinks when we sat down for our manicure. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. My mom just got a pedicure. It seemed like they purposely started my pedicure first so we would finish around the same time. The regular pedicure was awesome and worth 30 dollars to me. For 33 dollars, I thought the gel manicure could have included more. They filed my nails, gave a cuticle treatment, painted them, and ended it with a quick massage with cream. My only complaint is that they did not have me put my toes under a dryer and I promptly smudged my big toe after leaving. I also wish they would take appointments. The salon was aesthetically pleasing but the service was horrible. I had the worst experience not only with the receptionist but also my manicurist. The girls were constantly on their phones, gossiping about one another in front of clients, and had no regard for manners whatsoever. The receptionist was the rudest person I have ever encountered. She didn't make any eye contact, was on her phone the entire time she was waiting on me, and did not welcome anyone who came in and or thanked anyone who left. I visited The Nail Bar for the first time on Saturday. I called ahead and it was extremely busy. I waited about an hour to be sat with my manicurist, but it was well worth the wait! I didn't mind waiting as I had nothing to do all day. My advice is to CALL AHEAD. They do not take appointments- you have to call ahead on the day you want to visit. You should call first thing in the morning to be guaranteed a spot. I had nail art done and a nail bar pedicure. The pedicure was long and great and my manicurist was very precise and did not rush despite the salon being busy. The salon was super crowded making it a little crazy and not that relaxing but that is to be expected during the holiday season and right before Christmas. Overall, I had a great experience and my manicurist Angel, was excellent and kind. My whole manicure and pedicure took about an hour and a half and I waited about an hour to be taken. I am so excited to return after the holidays as it should be a little less crowded and more relaxing! Well today was strike 2 for this place. kept giving it the benefit of the doubt because my daughter likes it. After today I will not go back. the last two times I went in made appointments well in advance for both my daughter and I and after getting there we were not taken together and then my daughter took -another extra hour having same exact mani n pedi that I had. second time around it happened again and she started before me and her person was so slow we were there for almost 3 hours. horrible!!! Today I made an appointment in the beginning of the week again for me and my daughter and when I arrived and checked in they told me I didn't have an appointmen. I told her I made it in beginning of week. then they went and had 3-4 people come to front desk and kept telling me I made an appointment somewhere else when I know I called this place. I was so embarrassed and how they went about it was completely unprofessional. then told the girl to call the other place because that's where I made appointment. it's was horrible. then the way they were speaking to us was way out of line. I had been to this place about 2 other times for their great nail art. While there on 12/2/2016, I decided to get a white manicure with the ring fingers in glitter. I wake up this morning (12/4/2016) and I see that my nails have been stained by my makeup and the top coat is coming away from the ends as if this manicure is a few days old so I called them to tell them that is unacceptable and I have never had this issue with previous white manicures at my regular place. I was told that they "cannot guarantee white manicures will not change color", "they are not sure how rough I am with my hands" and a manager will be in contact with me by the end of today to further discuss this. I am quite outraged by this as I have been using the same makeup for years, have been washing my hands as much as I always do and have never had this issue with previous white manicures. I understand that regular polish vs gel doesn't last as long but I typically get at least a week of wear before the regular polish starts to get messy. I will not be going back here even though they do the most amazing designs - this was a below par manicure experience despite the upscale-looking salon. read more

This place is beautiful and clean inside. The decor is beautiful, as are the pedicure seats. The staff is polite and attentive. I had to wait about 20 minutes for a walk in appointment, which is pretty standard and I expected this. The selection of colors is lovely, and the staff is polite and attentive. I've gotten many gel manicures, and this one lasted about 25 minutes longer than usual. The quality also was worse than I expected. My gels started chipping within 3 days and by day 4 a whole nail had fallen off. read more

I would give this zero stars if I could. If you're thinking that this would be a great place to take your bridal party to get their nails done, THINK AGAIN. I decided that the Nail Bar would be the perfect place to host my older sister's bachelorette party complete with champagne. As her maid of honor, I looked into what it would take to make that a reality. I read their "call ahead" policy and how to reserve spots for a larger party. There were 9 people in all, including the bride, and I e-mailed the owners to ensure that we would have a spot the day before the wedding to help celebrate. I provided everyone's names and services, what date and time we would be there as they requested. I even called the day of when they opened like I was warned to do to ensure our spots would be saved for us later that day. My sister's in-laws planned her rehearsal luncheon at Bahama Breeze in KOP. We left early in anticipation of traffic but it was a lot worse than we thought and consequently, we were 20 minutes late to our appointment. I came in and apologized and explained what happened, and after the girl at the front desk consulted with the manager on duty, I was told that only the bride would be able to get her services done and then the rest of the party could only get one service done since they had "a lot of 6 o'clock call aheads." We thought this was weird considering they had 6 or 7 women working there who were doing nothing at the time except chatting with each other. Let's think this through. Who in their right mind would think that is acceptable? This was for a WEDDING. We would definitely need both services. Do you REALLY think we would get one service and then go to another place? This was her BACHELORETTE and it was ruined by something that was out of our hands even though I followed their ludicrous reservation process and policy. We ended up going to Blooming Nail right down the street and they did an excellent job - they took ALL 9 of us last minute and even stayed open an hour later to make sure they perfected the bride's nails. I would definitely recommend that place over this one. I would never ever think of attempting to come back here ever again or recommending it to anyone. Imagine me having to tell my sister that we couldn't all go in and have a good time together? I wasn't going to have an incomplete mani/pedi girls afternoon for my sister - because she deserves better than that. It's just a shame that the Nail Bar did not think the same. read more

So, if you're a busy mom and professional on a tight schedule, it can be very challenging to get in. They do have a "Call Ahead" policy. You're asked to call in about an hour - 30 minutes ahead of time so they can put you on a list. this place is amazing! I went in for the spa pedicure and she seriously massaged my legs and feet for 30 mins along with various masks, exfoliants, and hot towel. They also offer complimentary wine M-Th. Everyone is so nice, the salon is beautiful and it doesn't have that typical salon smell! The Nail Bar did a FANTASTIC job of accommodating 10+ ladies and myself the day before my wedding. We were able to send them our names + the services we wanted ahead of time for a seamless check-in process, and they set up a table for the food and drinks we brought along. The gel mani/pedi itself was one of the best I've ever had (and several in my group made similar comments)! My technician made suggestions on bridal nail colors and we ended up going with a combination of two different polishes for a subtly shimmery natural look, and she somehow made my terribly uneven nails look picture perfect. The photo attached is 2+ weeks post-manicure, including a week at the beach (always rough on nails)--still flawless! I visited The Nail Bar this past Sunday for the first time. I was so happy to see that as soon as I walked in I was kindly greeted by the girls at the front desk. They told me there was about a 30 minute wait (which I expected) and offered refreshments and polish swatches to look through until my appointment was ready. They took me in 20 minutes which was great! Brittany had done my gel manicure and I couldn't be happier with the results! I showed her a picture off of Pinterest and she said she would be more than happy to recreate the look for me. I was curious about the pricing because of the rhinestones I was adding and she told me it would only be two dollars more! I walked out of The Nail Bar with an amazing manicure for my graduation party that day, and a great experience. I still love this place but I had a different experience and want to share it. I went again yesterday for a pedicure on my lunch break again. I opted for the 'Express Pedicure'. It was the first time I got a pedicure there. The chairs are very comfortable, the atmosphere is relaxing and service was great! However, it was not really 'express', meaning that it took me an hour to get in and out. I arrived at 12 and was seated twenty minutes later. I didn't leave the Nail Bar until a few minutes after 1pm. I just wanted to share this with other costumers in case they are under the impression that 'express' means you will be in and out quickly. Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! Hands down the BEST nail salon ever! I love it that they don't do acrylic nails; absolutely hate the smell of traditional nail salon places. It's so bad for you. I can never smell anything when I go here. I used to drive 45 minutes to get my nails done here from Delaware because it really is a great place. It is a hit or a miss and it has a lot to do with who you get. Yes they do offer a wide variety of service but they position themselves int he market as above the rest and it is not really. If you are lucky to get a good technician you may get lucky, but other wise overpriced and making appointments and trying to walk in forget about it. I use to go there more often but my experience last few times has been really poor. Out of three times 2 times would be a miss and 1 a hit. Who has time for that?
