From day one, I have not been disappointed. I can understand why women drive from NYC and DC to see Mrs. Ken for their waxing needs. She gives the best waxing services in the mid-Atlantic. Mrs. Ken is detail-oriented, focused, professional, and extremely hygienic. And while her waxes are not painless, there is much less pain than any other professional I've been to in my life (I started getting waxed when I was 14, I'm 43 now). While working with Mrs. Ken she began to gently encourage me to try Maya for my manicures and pedicures. I resisted for a time and then finally gave in. From the first time Maya did my nails, I knew there was no going back. Maya is exceptional at her craft and is pleasant, charming, and creative. In almost 30 years of getting manicures, my nails have never looked better. Maya knows what she is doing and she does it so well. You want someone who gives exceptional service. I called multiple times to see what was up with the phone ringing and then completely going to voicemail indicating she closed her phone. Maya did not inform Mrs. Ken of any possible circumstances that may have arisen to postpone my appointment. Moreover, I had to call Mrs. Ken to find out what was happening since Maya refused to call me back or send me a message. It was through Mrs. Ken that I found out that Maya: 1. She already spoke to me; 2. Already did my service; 3. Had confirmed all my information; and 4. Was being professional. If I had already done my service, why would I be there and waste over 30 minutes waiting for a response? It speaks volumes on Maya's professionalism that she deemed a client unworthy of the simple courtesy of corresponding with them and then lie to her employer. Emergencies happen and had I been informed I would completely understand but the fact that lying and making a client be left in the dark is incredibly disgusting behavior that is not appropriate. The upseting part is the fact that if someone can lie like that to their clients and employer, who can speak on the quality of the services offered? Perhaps I dodged a nail infection and I won't thankfully ever know. Mrs. Ken is very kind and nice. I felt bad interrupting her weekend due to this. To conduct business in the manner Maya has is unacceptable to both her and myself. It is truly unfortunate.

I asked for another manager to help and she caught an attitude. After taking almost $200 in charges out of my account she tried to charge me a THIRD TIME. Told me to make it up she was giving me a managers discount & my only charge was going to be the tip I was leaving for my waxer. She ended up only refunding me what I SHOULD HAVE payed and took $73 from my account. Insane.
