I don't know what to say about this place but I have many thoughts. You see I am on a quest for uv hard gel free form nails. I say this place does it and I called to confirm that it is in fact the type of nails I want. Not a tip to glue on but one that is buildable. After reassuring me I was going to receive the service I sought, I booked. Once there, the place is large and spacious. There is a place just for the manicures and a place for the pedicures. The place has a ton of tvs going and a lot of color options. Alas. That's probably the last of the positives. My technician was not having my opinions and concerns on my service. I told her I wanted the free form buildable gel and she rejected the whole idea. She claimed it doesn't exist and wanted to know what salon does that. I was so annoyed but she has already clipped all my nails to the very end so what could I do but begrudgingly accept fake tips. Okay fine but the worst part...she wouldn't reshape my nail and it is crooked. Having a disagreement about the shaping is one thing but it's pretty visible. The cleanliness. The drill bits looked like they had seen better days and honestly I am concerned about getting something because she nipped my skin bad with a dirty bit. The buffer used on me lost all its original black color to pure white...how many times has it been used and does it even buff anymore? So many questions and now concerns...additionally, I asked to clean some excessive polish on my finger pad and was denied. Love that for me. Any way, points for the large space but not coming back. They won't actually have free form gel nails so watch out. read more

Literally the best designs I've ever had on my nails The ladies are all so very nice. It's by appointment only, meaning you won't be sitting there waiting while they leave you to do someone else's nails. It's not crowded or super loud. I've had my lashes lifted (will have that again!) Today I had a 2pm appointment I didn't get started on til 2:15 the rude young girl with the blonde hair did not tell my nail technician that I had arrived. Ava is usually at the front desk she is so sweet and attentive her customer service is always above and beyond. Today was the first time I've ever seen this young girl at the front desk she needs immediate customer service training other than that she should stay in the back and just stock. She's definitely bad for Sittin Pretty there's nothing pretty about her disposition.. read more

I really don't know how to do this review. The place was really nice. The girl at the front desk (red hair) was amazing!!! I would love to give her 10 stars! But as far as my service, it wasn't great. I wanted to try this place as another option from where I usually go, which is a little further. First I will just say, the girl who did my pedicure completely rushed it and was pretty much done the pedi in 20min. Like I honestly could have done it myself. I've never experienced someone applying callous remover and not letting it sit. (For it to actually work!) she barely pushed back my cuticles, and the polish job was trash. Like I want to give this place another try for a pedicure, but maybe if I go to someone else and it would be a better job and experience. The pic below is actually her fixing the polish (but still not fixing it) after told her it was not great on the big toes. In all fairness, I may give this place another try. I was in on Friday April 30th for my 11am appointment for my ENGAGEMENT photo shoot later that night. Not only was I not seen until after 12, they were unable to do the simple design I wanted and my nails are extremely bulky and don't look like the photo I showed. More like sittin' and waitin'. I was also charged way too much for my inconvenience and lack of ability to perform minimal tasks. I was late to my photoshoot due to lack of care on their end. My friend was also in for a pedicure, and was upcharged for paraffin that was supposed to be included, that they specified WAS included, that she never even asked for. The remodel is definitely not what it looks like. Quality and service is majorly lacking. Deceiving to say the least. I will never be back here again. read more

Today I decided to try a new salon. I had a bad experience at the previous so I didn't feel like I had much else to lose. This place popped up as a recommendation. I came in around 12-1 as a walk-in. Everyone was extremely kind and friendly! Jenny chatted with me as she helped remove the old polish and it felt like we were catching up as old friends. I never got the nail techs name who actually did my manicure but she did an amazing job! Can't wait to come back - the service is wonderful and the manicure is amazing! It's really hard to find a nice nail salon in havertown, and unfortunately my search will be continuing I chose a bright orange color and at the end of my gel manicure, I notice it's still totally opaque looking. I really wish the woman doing my nails had offered to do a third coat, like many salons too, considering she was knew it was a bright color, and was looking at my nails under a bright light Also, she painted all over my cuticles.. let the gel run to the sides... and overall sloppy job and then had to file it, which did not even begin to remove the dried polish. When I called to schedule 2 pedicures, I requested 2 pedicures at the same time and was told this wouldn't be a problem. We arrived and sat down to begin waiting. After 15 minutes, we were told that a technician had had to leave and now there wouldn't be 2 technicians available at the same time. Also, she was unsure of how much longer the wait for any service would be. After another 5 minutes, we got up and left. Wow, it's amazing how attentive several technicians became when they realized we were leaving. I never heard so many apologies just walking out a door. While terrible customer service has become normalized nowadays, your customers don't have to accept it. You seem to have forgotten that. read more

I live right up the street here so I go in to get my eyebrows done. For some reason I'm super paranoid about someone messing it up-- so I'm really happy to say they do it EXACTLY right every time and I don't have to drive into the city when I need to do a little maintenance, lol. First time there since moving to the area and I'll definitely be back. The owner is very sweet and welcoming as is the rest of the staff. Also like that they have Sunday hours as most places don't. Gel mani and reg pedi ran me $55 which is fair pricing. They even use hot stones during my pedicure which was an unexpected touch. Really loved that they use UV protective gloves for your hands when you're getting gel manicure done as no place I've ever been to does this and I always felt like I needed to bring my own. I can't believe I've been going here for 5 months. Sittin Pretty is still my favorite nail place within a 45 minute radius of Philadelphia. Still getting perfect uv gels, still love all the folks who work there, and the little (paid) parking lot makes it easy to get to. Can't recommend them enough. read more

Didn't have the best experience here. My pedicure was done super fast. Post gel nails, the skin around my nails were peeling after. In a week and a half, the nails were coming off. This salon is very nice. I walked in on a Thursday night and was seated right away. They have so many Gel colors to choose from that it took me like 30 mins to make a decision! The decor is very nice and everything was so clean. Tony did my nails and although he worked slower than what I am used to, he was very nice and does a great paint job. I go here every few weeks and I absolutely love the staff. They are friendly, courteous, professional and work really hard to make you feel comfortable, special and valued. I've had a few nail jobs that were less than perfect (that's why I put 4 stars), but I keep coming because when my nails are done perfectly, they last for at least 3.5 weeks (gel manicures specifically). I've been coming since this was Jenny's nails. When Jenny opened Sittin Pretty, of course I returned and have not stopped since. The staff are so friendly and we've really gotten to know each other over the past 10+ years! I look forward to coming in not only for a pedi, but to catch up with everyone as well. My go to is always a pedicure which I've never had a bad experience - love the hot stone and hot towel they use. They are also one of very few places I trust to do my eyebrows! I love this place! Within the past year or so, they have totally re-vamped the interior. It's fresh, modern, and cute. And it's always squeaky clean inside, so cleanliness is not an issue. My mom and I went to Sittin' Pretty the other day for gel manicures. Everyone who works there is very nice and helpful, and they even fixed one of my nails that had been split at no extra charge. They didn't charge for taking off my old gel either. Both of our manicures came out very nicely, and the lady who did my manicure (the owner, I'm guessing) was very friendly and helpful in advising me about gel and how some brands "stick" better than others. We'll see how this one holds up--I think it's too soon to tell. There were only two little things that kept this from being a 5-star review for me. It seemed that they filed my nails and clipped my cuticles an awful lot, like several times in the course of being there. I don't know if they were fixing each other's work or what (because 3 total ladies worked on my nails at some point). I didn't think to ask then, but it occurred to me afterwards. Anyway, I probably should have just asked what prompted that. The bigger issue for me was the wait time. We had an appointment, and my mom was taken right away, but I had to wait about 10-15 minutes after hers started. Her manicure was finished when my gel was still being taken off, which sort of defeated the purpose of a mother-daughter nails date. I told her to head home, which ended up being a good decision, because getting my nails done took almost two hours. The staff was very apologetic about the wait time, and it was really was OK, since I had nowhere to be. I'm just slightly concerned for if I'm ever in a hurry and getting my nails done there. Plus, I think it just bears mentioning in a review. Overall, though, this is the best nail salon I've found in the area, and I'm very likely to return. Hopefully, I can upgrade to 5 stars the next time I go! =) Update: The hangnail that they fixed got loose 2 days later, thus making the polish chip off on one of my nails, right before the wedding I had to go to. I'd call it a fluke, but my mom's nails had chipped around the same time, too. I think I'll try them a time or two more before deciding if it's my go-to. read more

I have been going to Sittin' Pretty since they opened. I now live on the West Coast, but any time I am home in Havertown I make a point to visit for at least one mani pedi! I can't say enough that I have yet to find a better nail salon...even on the other side of the country! The staff at Sittin' Pretty are always incredibly friendly and the services are impeccable. I highly recommend their herbal pedicures and gel manicures! I get great wear out of my mani pedis and have yet to find a salon where my polish lasts as long. I usually love going here. Kimmy is amazing. That saying, I went last week on a weekday. Not a Friday, a weekday and they just so happened to be hosting a wedding party. I wish they would have told me this would mean they would rush through my pedicure yet still make me pay full price. It in reality was a color change. All they wanted to do was rush me out of the chair. If you can't take care of frequent customers and have the audacity to still charge 25 dollars for 5 minutes in the seat, tell them. I will be taking my service elsewhere. And they should learn to either shut down while hosting a party on a Thursday afternoon at 1 pm or hire more people that day that are capable of paying attention to who they are working on instead of rushing and doing a half okay job. read more

came here for the first time 3 days ago because i needed a place open on sundays. the salon is absolutely stunning and the staff is really nice, but i have a couple concerns. i made a reservation for 10:15, and wasn't seated until 10:30. it then took about 15-20 minutes for the lady to actually sit down and start doing my nails. i got an acrylic full set that was supposed to be coffin. they came out lumpy with bubbles and they were not filled all the way to my cuticle so immediately after getting them, they look grown out. it was sloppy work and i'm not impressed. i'm usually not picky because i understand it can't be perfect, but they already look grown out. read more
