Meat is always solid. This is the place to bring people who are visiting the city. Brisket is perfectly done and pulled pork is just perfect. Garlic fries are a must. They also do a very tasty brunch on the weekend. It's nice how they have some rotating features as well to keep things interesting. Highly recommended for a very satisfying meal. We went here for my wife's birthday. I had a rack of pork ribs. They were excellent. My wife had the burnt ends. She found them to be a bit spicy with more sauce than she felt they should. She comes from Kansas City, where the flavour of the burnt ends are in the meat, not the sauce. We also had the garlic fries. They were very good. We also had the oven baked beans. Not our favourites - in fact ate few of them. They appeared not to have been baked long enough. Our server was friendly, efficient and couldn't have been better. She didn't charge us for the beans - it was her initiative. The grapefruit radlar I had was great. Overall a very good experience. We will be back. read more

I was so excited when I drove by MEAT/Next Act/Pip and saw they had all set up heated patios for the winter. This is something that I have been advocating for for years. Edmonton is a winter city and year-round patios are a great way to embrace that. It is especially awesome during the pandemic when some people (like me!) don't feel comfortable eating inside a restaurant. I told a few people I'd eaten at MEAT for my birthday and the first question many of them asked was "wait! aren't you vegetarian??" It turns out that MEAT is actually very veg-friendly! They always have a veggie feature dish along with a vegetarian sandwich. I chose the veggie feature (pan-fried zucchini with lemon and pickled onions) and a side order of their delicious mac and cheese. As a rule, I never choose zucchini dishes. It is one of my least favourite vegetables but I absolutely loved this. It was perfectly cooked and flavourful. MEAT also has a great drink menu that features a number of local beers and creative cocktails. I had their peach sweet tea with bourbon and it was exactly what I needed to cap off my evening. I would highly recommend MEAT to anyone looking for a great night out with delicious food. Coming from a place where my town IS the standard for quality bbq, my co-workers and I thought it'd be fun to try something different. See what Edmonton had on its play of BBQ. (I come from Houston, TX). We came in and was greeted with friendly smiles. The interior is a bit modern and hipster cool. I really liked the decor. There are some long tables that you may have to end up sharing with others but that's normal to me at any bbq joint. We ordered the brisket, smoked turkey, ribs, mac and cheese, garlic fries, and seasonal veggies. The brisket had good flavor, but it wasn't as tender/juicy as I'm used to. Maybe bc the brisket I usually get is smoked longer? Idk, I'm no connoisseur. The smoked turkey was probably my favorite here, it had nice flavor and was tender. Ribs were ok, flavor there, but meat was dry. The best thing there was the banana parfait (aka banana pudding). I'm a sucker for banana pudding so it tasted great to me. It's hard to believe that I haven't written a review yet for MEAT. My husband and I have been coming here frequently since MEAT opened a few years ago. The quality of the menu and the food have stayed consistent over the years, which I love. The interior of MEAT has a Scandinavian feel with navy blue feature walls and copper accents. Majority of the seating here is communal, meaning that if your party doesn't fill the table, you will be sharing with others. Since my husband and I come here with just the two of us, we're not a big fan of this. We prefer to keep to ourselves. We would love to make reservations in advance but unfortunately MEAT does not take them. MEAT fortunately does have 2 person tables along the back wall. To make sure that we can grab this spot we arrive at MEAT as soon as it opens (5 pm on weekdays). What I love about MEAT is that it is well-made food at a great price. Just like their seating, most of their food is also communal. Our favorite dishes are the pull pork and garlic fries. We order a larger portion and are able to share off the same plate. MEAT also makes their own sauces which are available at each table. My favorite home-made sauce is the cherry, while my husband prefers the spicy sauce. On average we usually end up spending around $40-$50 for a shared meal (not including drinks) and we even have left overs to take home! Awe yes! visited this smokehouse on a work trip to Edmonton and the atmosphere was energetic and loud. With everyone slowly plucking away at pounds upon pounds of various types/ flavours of beef, pork, and chicken. My group was seated promptly even though we didn't make a reservation, we all had literarily the exam same meals but each person had a different overall perspective/ ratings of the food. We tried the Beef Brisket, BBQ ribs, Garlic fries & Mac & Cheese. The food was pretty good, the ribs were a slightly over cooked and portioned smaller than we expected. But overall we really enjoyed the vibe in the restaurant, and looking forward to trying more of their meals over our next visits. read more

Well if you like meat, this is a great place to go. My favourite is their brisket- usually get a double order. They were the first to introduce me to brussel sprouts as "tasty". So yes I am set in my ways. During the pandemic I would order for pick up, hours ahead. When I got there they were expecting me and pick up and payment were efficient and quick- which is good, since there isn't much for parking around there during the supper hour--unless you walk a few blocks- which is fine if the weather is nice. Celiac fare is definitely plentiful and available. Just not the cream corn. I haz a sad. :-( But we *are* here to eat MEAT. On a Sunday night, we arrived around suppertime expecting a wait. The hostess suggested 20-25 minutes, and she wasn't wrong. We got a seat quickly to wait, and we were at our table in no time. If a guest hadn't been hogging a stool with her scarf in the bar, we would have sat there and relaxed pre-carnivore episode. Our waitress rocked. Seriously went into the kitchen not once, but THREE times to make sure my food allergies were addressed. Kudos - the staff here really seems to care about the client. Bonus, our server wasn't the only one to clear our plates etc. and fill the water. It's a great team effort to feed you there! Seating is...not terribly intimate, but we ARE here to savagely eat beautiful, delicious BBQ & smoked meat, so that shouldn't be a problem. It might even be a benefit keeping the spray and splashing across the table to a minimum! We found that we weren't crowded - that's a definite plus. Room on either side and behind so you could get up. Although there are some tables for two along the south wall, in the main dining area are 6 long 8-seater tables on the one side, and I'm not sure how many could seat on the window-side tables - but likely the same.I didn't look to see how many tables/seats there were behind me towards the bar or along the windows as you entered. You are seated across from eachother in amongst other diners. Noise level was a bit high - we had difficulty hearing eachother across the table. As a short person, leaning forward over round plates with the serving tray inbetween, was wardrobe challenging. And well, conversation was limited because of it. There is a board on the wall with the daily specials - don't forget to check them out - including drink specials. Keep in mind they only smoke enough meat for one day, so if they say they're out of something - they really mean it. Don't beg, plead or cry with the staff, it doesn't help, and just makes you a messy, damp human. They really are out when they are out. There isn't anything stashed in the back. We found the menu had a good broad choice of meats or sandwiches, sides and desserts. When you order, you are ordering individual items. You order your meats and sides separately. Don't expect extras - you don't order it, it's not coming. It's nice that they offer small and large sizes (half and full if you really have trouble deciding). Food arrived very quickly, served on parchment paper on a sheet pan, family style. Bonus - you can eat as little or as much as you can stake your claim on! We ordered the smoked 1/4 chicken, brisket, one link of andouille sausage, small coleslaw and a large order of garlic fries. While the card on the table informed us the food would be served warm, not hot, the Andouille wasn't as warm or tepid as would have given me more confidence for food safety. The meat was delicious! I'm not much of a brisket fan, so I did try it, as well as the sausage & chicken. Chicken was my favourite. I couldn't eat more than I ordered if I wanted to. Although, that might be because I was obsessed with the fries... mmm garlicky tasty yummy fries! The sauce is available at either end of the table in apothecary style brown jars. Serve yourself. It's a bit of a sticky encounter to get off the cap, and your hands, and no wet wipes in sight. Not a huge fan but unlimited quantity makes for mix & match sampling! Cherry with a touch of Spicy was my fave. Bourbon was the S.O.'s fave. Experiment! Coasters would be nice, we found the sweaty glasses a bit slippery on the tables. A little bowl for the sauces might have been nice, but I can see why they want you to put it on the plate. I just prefer to dip rather than smear. Prices are average for restaurant fare, and we like that you can order a 1/2 or whole pound of meats, 1/4, 1/2 or whole chicken. Ribs, and pulled pork are also on the menu. We had a little bit leftover, but we didn't overeat, and were really happy with the quantity for the two of us. Desserts looked good, and we probably could have eaten one, but thought we'd just enjoy the meatiness and delicious aftertaste saving dessert for another time. Yes, for the gluten-free out there, there is at least one item for us and it sounded great. For beverage, I ordered a Swedish Cider Rekorderlig Strawberry-Lime Cider. Tastes like kool-aid. Almost too easy going down. Europe website says not much about the Gluten Free status, but another review site mentioned it was. The can does say not for sale outside of Europe. Probably labelling issues. When we left around 8pm, it was clearing out, there were no diners waiting, and seats were empty. Open until 10 - that might just be the best time to come. We had the half pound of brisket, quarter chicken, Mac and cheese and house salad and to finish it all is the butter pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. The brisket was tender delicious an when you start to adventure in the bbq sauce thing really start to get interesting. The chicken is always good preferably with the mustard. Mac an cheese was ok only because I prefer classic Mac. It was still amazing even better with a drizzle of cherry bbq sauce. The house salad is alright, it was ok nothing special but I did like the lil ricotta bits. First, I want to starty by saying that I so SO so SO wanted to love meat! My husband and I had actually stopped by twice before learning that they aren't open for lunch. I planned a surprise birthday dinner here for my hubby with several of his guy friends. I'm a transplanted American to Canada and I REALLY really REALLY L-O-V-E my BBQ and figured this would be the perfect man meal! The server, Robbie, was hilarious but a bit busy and not always easy to flag down. We tried SOOOO many freaking things it was crazy. We ordered the off menu meat sampler, macaroni and cheese, garlic fries, extra fried chicken, 2 racks of ribs and each had a few drinks. I was disappointed in the two items that come as the highest recommended :-( The brisket was really dry on our visit - I mean, like not a drop of moisture or hint of goodness from slow cooked fat. I realize that this could be due to the cut of meat and completely out of their hands but none the less, none of us wanted to eat it. The andouille sausage was also quite dry and didn't knock it out of the park for us the way many of the other reviewers experieced it. The macaroni and cheese was okay but nothing to write home about. The coleslaw was hardly touched by our group. But the garlic fries were ridiculously garlicy addicting finger licking oh. em. gee. good! It's kinda like garlic with a side of fries :-) Our favourite by far were the smoked ribs and I don't mind the price but the ribs were had were super small. Not sure if that's the norm but think about half the size of a Tony Roma's rib rack. I could polish off 2 full racks for a meal myself. The real surprise was how amazingly delicious the chicken was! If I were to come back, I'd probably order a rack of ribs and chicken and call it a day! I uploaded lots of pics so take a peek :-) Our tab worked out to about $70 a person plus tip - so it was a fairly pricey meal with some serious disappointments in the meat department. Weekday night and they opened earlier because of the Fringe. Arriving at 5, there was plenty as seats inside and limited on the patio. I liked the long tables as the other guests seems far away but we could put our bags on the table. The temperature was a little cool in the restaurant even on a hot day. Our server was very friendly and answered our questions we had on the menu. I saw the sample platter on Yelp and asked about it since it wasn't on the menu. For $60, we could try all the meats which was a reasonable price and great variety. We are 4 voracious eaters and the server doubted if we ladies can eat all the meat. We also ordered sides since we do also like vegetables. We got a large Brussels sprouts, small garlic fries, and small Mac n Cheese. I like there's a decent variety of sides besides a salad and fries. The meat came out with the fries and bowl of Mac on the board. The sprouts were in a large bowl. Yum to beef, sausage, chicken, and pork. I loved sampling it all and dipping it into the sauces. It wasn't dry but moist and juicy. This was good meat! There are 4 sauces on the table to choose from. Since I can't eat spicy, I skipped that and the mustard since I don't like it but I did try the bourbon and cherry. I didn't use a lot of sauce as I found the meat tasty without. The garlic fries were a bit greasy and I didn't try the Mac n cheese but the shredded sprouts were delicious. I would definitely order them again. At the end of the meal, the only food left was some fries. We finished off the meat and thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Although the place can get loud and busy as people were waiting when we left at 7:30, this is a great place to come for meat. Most people I saw couldn't finish their meals and had leftovers to go. Vegetarians dining at a restaurant named Meat seemed a bit backwards, but don't be fooled, this restaurant has something for everyone! We dined on the patio and unlike it's neighbour The Next Act, you can actually comfortably fit six people on the picnic tables. Though don't be surprised if they seat another group with you (whether inside or outside) as many of the tables are large and communal! It makes for a great social night out but maybe not the best place for a first date. They always have a vegetarian sandwich special and a feature vegetable side dish. We ordered four small sides ($6 each) between the two of us plus a pickle and slice of bread ($1 each) and it was plenty of food. We chose the Macaroni and Cheese, Feature Vegetable - Zucchini Fritters, House Salad and Garlic Fries. We thoroughly enjoyed everything but the fries. Gasp! I know, everyone raves about them and maybe we had a bad batch, but they were way too salty and garlicy (and I love garlic). Our fellow diners enjoyed their meat selections as well. I waited for so long to try edmonton's favourite and renowned smokehouse. I and my husband stopped here so many times but long waiting time always ruined our plan lol. But finally, we decided to show up for Sunday brunch before the place started to fill so fastly. They have kept their ambience simple and vibrant at the same time by using Wooden tables with dark blue iron chairs. Well, i must say Meat did live up-to my expectations if i talk about my overall experience. I ordered their ordered or house special Beef Brisket Benny with Hashbrowns. I also find Spicy fried Chicken Sandwich with Garlic fries on their menu quite interesting because i love garlic. Both Beef and Chicken were equally delicious and juicy. Eat meat here, seems like a reasonable slogan for a restaurant simply called MEAT. I met up with a friend from out of town on a dreary Sunday evening to try out the newest (relatively newest) BBQ joint in town. When you first walk into MEAT, you are greeted with a beautifully decorated and spacious space full of rich tones and colours. The place was surprisingly busy for a Sunday but we didn't have to wait long for a spot. As there were only two of us, we decided to each order our own sandwiches but I would have liked to try a couple of their meat offerings (oh well, next time). They have their homemade sauces right on the table (bourbon, cherry, spicy, mustard). I tried them all and spicy was definitely the winner. We ordered: - 2x Alley Kat main squeeze grapefruit ale ($6) - we were both pleasantly surprised by how tasty this ale was. Wasn't overly sweet, which tends to happen for fruit beers but this one was light and refreshing. - 2x Wildrose brown ale ($6.50) - my friend was also very happy with the brown ale. I had a taste - this is their darkest beer. According to our waitress, these two were her favourites so apparently we picked wisely (she told us this after we picked). - BBQ pulled chicken sandwich ($15) - comes with garlic fries which are soooo good and they just pile a massive amount on your plate. The pulled chicken was tender and juicy. According to their "smoke times" chart, they let this baby go for 4 hours. - Pulled pork sandwich ($15) + pickle ($1) - my friend really enjoyed/couldn't even finish her dish. The pulled pork is smoked for 14 hours (they ain't playing around)! All in all, I was pretty impressed with MEAT and much happier than when I went to their sister restaurant (see The Next Act). read more

We went on a Friday night around 6pm to put our name down on the list (for a party of four) and went to the bar to grab drinks while we waited. The bartender was incredibly friendly and they had a nice selection of local draft beers. After about 20-30minutes we were seated at our table, which happened to be one of the taller tables by the bar, which was nice because it wasn't shared or in the main restaurant area so the noise level was much better. We ordered 1/2 pound pulled pork, 1/2 pound beef brisket, a whole rack of ribs and a fried chicken sandwich along with mac and cheese, Brussel sprouts, creamed spinach (seasonal), garlic fries. I usually don't like brisket but this brisket was super tender and not dry at all and probably my favourite dish of the night. The brussel sprouts is also amazing: sliced up and sort of made into a slaw. The bourbon and spicy sauce complemented the meats well. When the food first arrived, it didn't look like much but in the end we had some leftovers to take home. Would definitely come back the next time we are in town! read more

When faced with the dilemma of what to order from a great menu, it's always amazing when there is a sampler menu. It's even better when the sampler menu is every piece of smoked meat available on one sharing platter. The fact that the platter is meant for a group of 5 when you are only a team of 3 is a slight obstacle that can be dealt with by making awesome sandwiches the next day. Half a pound beef brisket, half pound pulled pork, half rack BBQ ribs, half smoked chicken, a fried leg and thigh, one link of andouille sausage ($60). My favourite of the selection was the brisket, I don't know if we got lucky but our slices came with the meat marbled with fat. This meant that it basically melted upon eating and was delicious. The runner up would be the ribs, which always find a place close to my heart no matter where I find them. This one was tender, fall-off-the-bone and flavourful on it's own. In fact, all the selections had their own unique smoke flavor and hardly didn't need the great selection of four sauces available. Which doesn't mean you shouldn't try all the sauces available and figure out which pairs perfectly with which selection. Somehow the bourbon sauce found it's way onto a lot of my bites. Great Meat Sweats Batman! When you are great at something you might as well name your restaurant after it. We came here for my birthday and the food and experience was pretty great. Delicious BBQ and smoked meat are all over the menu. We tried some brisket and sausage & chicken. Everything was delicious. They also have a good variety of house made sauces to accompany the meat of your choice. There are lots of drinks to choose from and desserts too. When we went it was a pretty busy night but we didn't have to wait very long for a table. Seating is mostly family table seating so if you are looking for intimate date night this ain't the place. There are a few two seaters so if you want those you may want to make a reservation. Noise level can be a bit high in here. Elbow room at the family style tables is a bit limited too. You will get to know your neighbours! Prices are fairly average for this type of bbq meat centric restaurant. Parking can be tricky is it is in the heart of Old Strathcona. There are some Impark lots nearby though. There is free 2 hour parking by the Library and McIntyre Park though if you can snag it. There is bike stand and bike repair station close by too! MEAT is one of the best barbecue spots I've been and a favourite with both locals and visitors to Edmonton. They are continuing to operate with the pandemic in play, offering dine in, takeout, and delivery options, with the same great flavours we've all come to know and expect. I almost unfailingly order the sample platter because I can never decide what the best meat options are... but that being said, the sides are really where it's at. My favourites are the Brussel sprouts and the Mac & Cheese, and I always order one of the giant pickles on the side - they are well worth it and a great pairing to the barbecue flavours. My coworker and I shared the brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and ribs with garlic fries and mac n cheese for sides. The thick cut brisket and pulled pork were the best from what we had. Sausage was meh, ribs were tender but not a ton of taste. The cherry and bourbon bbq sauces were my favorite. Service was friendly and quick but parking was a bit tough. As a long standing customer, MEAT never seems to disappoint. If you're ever looking for some hearty, flavourful MEAT, then this is the place to be. They don't take reservations, and the seating are family style tables. Makes for a cozy time. They do have seatings for 2 available. Okay getting down to the juicey stuff. Ideally - come here for dinner where all the items on the menu are served in family style to share amongst your group. If you are a couple - I reccommend choosing half orders of the Meat. Any groups of 3 or more, definitely choose a full order. Cause let's face it - they're THAT good. MEAT's rack of ribs are by far the best int he city. The smokehouse flavour, the fall off the bone texture is just to die for! I get them every time, and they are just perfection. The beef brisket and the pulled pork would come in an easy second. Nothing's too dry here. They managed to get a happy medium of storing the flavours. I love brussel sprouts, but not from here. MEAT cuts up the brussel sprouts as if it's a coleslaw. Not exactly the best, as I know my friends and I enjoy them whole. But, the garlic fries is a total must! The garlic oil they cook they fries in is just the right amount of garlic drizzled with parmesan. Mmm! I was also told the Mac & Cheese is pretty damn good too. Since I'm lactose intolerant, I haven't had the pleasure to enjoy this. But, by the look on their face, it's love. You just know it. Got home and and unwrapped my order and was short my large Mac 'n Cheese! Wow! I would have never thought I would find good southern BBQ in Edmonton, but we did. Being from the southern US, we were quite sceptical, but they nailed it. We walked in a bit late on a Saturday night, 30 minutes before closing. We asked if it was too late, but we were told it was no issue and we sat at the bar. We were quickly greated and had beers in no time. We decided to both go with the rib tip sandwich, brussel sprouts, a pickle, and a andouille sausage. The food arrived quickly and it looked quite tasty. It did come with sauce on it, which is typically frowned upon in southern bbq, but the sauce was rather mild and did not overpower any of the sauces we added on top of it. The meat was quite tender and tasted amazing. I enjoyed mixing the mustard, cherry, and spicy bbq sauce and dipping my sandwich in it. I really liked the presentation on the brussel sprouts, shredded. This allowed them to soak up more flavor and be seasoned nicely. The pickle was nice as was the sausage. Overall, the meal was great and we look forward to returning. The only disappointment we had was they were out of a few meats, so we could not try the sampler. This was quite understandable though given it being a late Saturday night after being busy. Hopefully we will get to try it on our next visit. read more

Everything I've had here is great. It can be pricey, but you always get quality food. During COVID it was my go-to for special occasions. I'd just order for a certain time and pick up. Brisket is my favourite. The flavours are intense, and mouthwateringly unvegan. I also like to get a Brussel sprouts dish, as nobody does it better. Even people who don't generally care for bs will likely enjoy these if they can be persuaded to have a taste. read more

I haven't been to Meat in 3 years, and that was a mistake. I forgot just how mouthwatering the meat is! Everything is slow cooked for I think at least 12 hours before reaching your table. The meat is moist and tender and just melts in your mouth. I had the chicken sandwich which comes with cheddar and cherry bbq sauce. Heavenly! Their garlic fries can be a little overwhelmingly garlicky, and mine were almost too potent to eat. My boyfriend's were much easier to handle so I crunched his. Be sure to listen to the specials! It's my birthday, I'll eat meat if I want to... I decided Meat would be a great birthday restaurant, and I was right! We arrived just after 5:00 and there was no wait at all. We were seated by the window which was pretty chilly considering it really wasn't cold outside. It got to be a bit annoying and we switched to the other seats at our table away from the cold ventilation blowing down on us. The whole place smells delicious and smoky, and the ambiance was relaxed and very friendly. The waitress took our drink order promptly, and explained that they serve family style which I love! It's the best way to get a taste of a good variety of menu items. I started with a meat Caesar, spiced perfectly with a big slice of sausage and pickle which the waitress comped because it was my birthday (nice touch), hubby had a radler. We decided in 1/2 lb ea of brisket & pulled pork and 1/4 smoked chicken with 3 small sides consisting of mac & cheese, garlic fries and kale salad. The food arrived rather quickly and was delivered on a big tray. They have 4 house made BBQ sauces to choose from, they were delicious! I was tempted to tuck the bottle of bourbon BBQ sauce into my purse and take it home! We devoured the tender, smoky piles of deliciousness taking a break only to snack on our sides. The garlic fries were awesome, their mac & cheese was authentic and creamy. The kale salad was a refreshing break from all the meat & carbs. It had creamy chunks of goat cheese, crunchy pumpkin seeds, purple onion, and a delicious light tasting dressing. We ordered just the right amount and I even had a little snack box to take home. No dessert this time, we were full! We most definitely be back for our next smoked meat craving. Well done! Simple, but tasteful BBQ pretty much sums up MEAT. Chicken, ribs, pulled pork etc cooked and smoked to perfection served with your choice of sides. The corn bread was light, and not too heavy, the garlic fries were more garlic butter than fries. A bit too strong on the coating for our liking. The staff were fantastic, very attentive, and very quickly recognised the quirks and needs of my autistic son, accommodating his requests and questions with ease and a smile. We saw this place on You've Gotta Eat Here! and wanted to visit when we were in Edmonton. It was worth the effort to get here. We will definitely be back next time we're in town. read more

If you like BBQ that's messy and delicious you need to go here. The brisket was so tender you didn't need a knife and if you like mac'n cheese you need to order 2 of largest cause you'll murder the one there and you'll take the other one home it was that good. As someone who is marrying a Southerner, I take my BBQ seriously. Meat doesn't disappoint in the slightest. Their food is incredible, the sauces are phenomenal, and oh man, don't get me started on the mac n cheese (I would die for their recipe). While I'll admit that I'm personally not a huge fan of the community style tables (pre-covid), and it can get a little noisy, overall you get big flavour at a great price, alongside fantastic service. Brilliant! In-house meat preparation of the best sort! You can smell the smoker work that happens in this place when you walk in the door, and it is amazing! The menu is entirely a la carte, and meats are sold in quarter pound portion divisions, at reasonable prices...I had the brisket. It was fork tender, with a visible, uniform smoke ring, with an amazing rub on the exterior. It was so flavorful that the sauce options were almost superfluous, but I did end up trying the Cherry and bourbon sauces out of curiosity... Very good. Also had the warm potato salad, very tasty, though there was one particularly large chunk of potato in that, and had a cherry Boylans soda with it... This was my first time here, and I really like place... Definitely what I wanted, some comfort food, casual atmosphere, and some good barbecue! I went with a friend and we opted to share a whole bunch of stuff, we had the smoked chicken wings, brussels sprouts, kale salad, brisket, and burnt ends of brisket special. Don't forget to add a pickle as well, they were amazing! Really my only complaint about this place, was it was a very cold day out, and it was not very warm inside. So atmosphere is everything, and it would've been nicer if they have the heat cranked a bit more. Really like the smoked chicken wings, and the brisket was really great. Although because it was cold in the restaurant the brisket got cold very fast... Another problem with temperature! Parking is tough around here, so make sure you go a bit early... I will definitely be back. Great casual spot. Also, I wasn't drinking but their bourbon and cocktail menu looks fabulous! I'm happy to have MEAT so close to home as it's an easy place to take people for a focused meal of meat, meat, and meat! I've loved the fried chicken and the smoked brisket. I'd come back again and again for those. The pulled pork has been kind of dry for my taste, although I'd pick some off your plate if we went to MEAT together :-) The tables are littered with bottles of sauces -- the whole reason for eating. Food is just a vehicle for sauces! The place is clean and spartan in decoration, with a pretty loud buzz, and sometimes a crowd. Worth the wait if you want meat, meat, and meat! The LYNCHBURG Lemonade cocktail is a taste of liquid sunshine. True to the name it's a refreshing perfectly blended Lemonade. Our brunch selections where the Meat Breakfast my husband had both the sausage and the bacon. Very tasty and an adequate portion size. I had the pulled pork sandwich with garlic fries. The pork was on the dry side, but the bun was super soft and yummy. The garlic fries were cold but still edible. The service was great , our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
