Our bldg had gone thru 2 mgmt changes in three past 2 yrs. Since McIntire took over I've had EVERYTHING resolved within a matter of 2 days! I've been a tenant of theirs in Pasadena for almost a year now. I've had two incidents where I submitted a maintenance request, and they were both met with an immediate response. I've also found management easily accessible when I've had to contact them. The staff is extremely helpful, and genuinely care about the tenants. read more

This is the worst property management company ever. I did reside in an apartment in koreatown where this company just took over. I have had multiply issues with apartment that need addressed, after emailing and calling for a week if finally got a hold of someone and them telling they would take care of the issue ASAP. 1 wk later it was fixed. Now that I have moved out and inquiring on deposit info I can't get any answers. Beware of this horrible company. read more

I am very disappointment with the level of service I received from Mc Intire management -maintenance. I requested maintenance over a week ago to have my A/C unit checked. It's a very old unit and barely produces enough air to cool the unit. To be fair, I've been very patience with them considering the temperature has risen to nearly 87 degree inside the unit with the A/C at full blast. After waiting a week and getting no callback from maintenance, I called to follow-up. Instead, I got bombarded with a series of questions, by a rather discourteous, unfriendly and unapologetic representative. Who requested that I reset the thermostat, clean the filter and reset the circuit breaker? I have never seen such a careless and callous operation. Insofar I have no idea when the repair will be done I hate to leave negative feedback, but this is a must - overall F- service. Esane read more

I am a bit confused about this management company. I went for a viewing Saturday to a place in a not so safe neighborhood. Upon entering the apartment it had a bad stench that my child and I could not place. After walking around I asked the person in charge a few questions. He had no knowledge what so ever. He had to look at the listing to answer. He was a very nice gentleman. For an apartment in a not so nice area I could not believe how high the rent was. I was also shocked to find out that it was section 8. The business itself was good about sending automated emails but when I emailed them regarding the apartment I never received a response. I don't want to apply anywhere until I have my questions answered. read more

The most unprofessional, and disregarding business I have ever witnessed. Our company's AC system has been out for quite some time, and their response time is pathetic and quite frankly, shows that they do not care for their customers well being. If they did, they would answer one of the 500 calls we have placed to them, concerned over when our ventilation system would be fixed. Save yourself the trouble and do not waste your time with this sad excuse of a "property management". read more

The recent improvements that McIntire Management has implemented has really made an impact on how quick and efficient repairs are being conducted. The new on-site manager Yami has been very helpful and responsive in communicating our concerns and in making sure our issues were addressed in a timely manner. She has even gone above and beyond in helping resolve our issues in our time of need. We were very pleased with our most recent maintenance issue where we reported a leak in AC unit and it was resolved much sooner than expected. All it took was a little patience, consideration and courtesy in our interactions and things got done. Great improvements overall and keep up the great work! read more

This is an update and a response, It is funny how your claiming that all of the items that I have requested been done as of a favor and he forgot that the property was on the market for 250+ and they were desperate to rent it out. Oh it its good to mention that stuff I have asked for. 1. Lockable doors 2. Clean the carpet 3. Fix the gas leak. 4. Remove the shelves So all of which are straight forward but it was not done right away. When it comes to the shelves, they are easily can be placed back because the holes are still there. I was offered a free month or free rent so it does not matter when I move in the property but what made it worse is i delayed the move in to allow them enough time to finish the item but guess what, we moved and they had to send people in while were there and walk on a soapy carpet. Indeed, we are in escrow but the property is not mine, it is for my parents and I am doing the leg work. I no longer live in the US and you may contact the company I work for so do not accuse someone of being dishonest because when your a dishonest person you think everyone is like you! On top of that, i have lived in several places around the globe in areas where you have not been and it is quite common to have a 2 month notice with an "acceptable fee". I hope your business gets what it deserves. Karama is no fun! read more

Being that the lady in apartment 2 at 101 N. Sierra Bonita still has the Air Conditioner her Husband's Dr Needed to be changed or it would hurt him and he DIED a few months later. We all had 20 year air conditioners that the filter was never changed. Some of us had 20 year gas leaks and one apartment LITTERALLY had a shit fountain coming from the kitchen sink. THEIR PROPERTY MANAGER had us evicted wrongly during a pandemic. Sending notices without apartment numbers and paving the second floor (where we lived) 2 days after we got the notice (did not see it because we were told not to go outside) Even at the last minute failing my constant begging for my medication I need to LIVE! a week without it damaging my body. SO YEAH! Excellent property management company. I contacted them recently about our gas heater and they responded quickly, arranged for a repair person to come and even opened up my apartment with my permission when I was running late to meet the them. I love that I can pay my rent and submit repair requests online. My apartment is well taken care of and they have excellent customer service. read more

I lived at the Monrovia Property for 15 months. During that time the site manager was responsive to repair requests and always followed up to assure it was completed in a timey manner. I have not complaints in this area. The McIntire Management Company themselves however, proved to be less than ethical. During my time there, I kept and left the unit in meticulous condition. In spite of the difficult economic impact due to COVID-19, I never missed a rent payment. I gave them 6 weeks notice before moving out. I am glad I took numerous pictures to prove the impeccable condition in which I left the unit. In spite of that, they charged against my initial security deposit hundreds of dollars for painting, floor repair (because their repair team ruined a portion of the floor when their water heater sprung a leak into my apartment.) The cleaning charge added insult to injury as I left the unit spotless and in as good or better condition than when I received it. I am a business owner in the City of Monrovia and have an extensive network of business associates and friends. I have let them know of my experience and have urged them to discourage any of their family, friends, business clients from doing any business with any property managed my McIntire Management so as not to experience this very thing. read more

My wife and I recently moved into an apartment managed by McIntire. Granted, it's only been a couple of months, but so far we have not had anything except good experiences with them. Our maintenance request was answered quickly, and handled in a reasonable time frame. Our move-in experience was good as well. The online portal makes it very easy to pay rent, request maintenance, etc., which is super helpful as well. read more

This company is bogus. They don't get the job done. Treat tenants like everything is their fault and are very unprofessional. In our year and a half of dealing with Julie, she was very unhelpful and constantly gave us the run around. One particular time was amusing, our handle on our front door was no longer working properly, it took then 3 weeks to get anyone there, when they did, the person said it would code $15 plus supplies to fix and they wouldn't do it. Julie came back with supplies and started to replace it herself, she didn't know how so had my husband do the job for free, all while her breasts were hanging out everywhere. When we were moving out, they asked us to give the keys sooner than our 30 days (since we were already out) but was unwilling to pay us our money back for our rent, what a joke. Then Julie explained that they were still doing repairs to our place to prepare for the next tenants, and I told her she cannot because we are not giving her permission, she quickly told me that "they very well can do that!" When I sited the LAW she told me she could at least get people in for estimates as long as she gave proper notice. I was okay with this, but they decided to put one on for 3 days in a row, just because, from what the on-site manager told me. Because of this, Julie told my husband that they would make sure to wait 21 days to get our deposit back, just because, even though they had new tenants in. Today is day 22 and still no sign of our deposit and no response from the management group as to where it is. DO YOURSELF AND YOUR TENANTS A FAVOR AND SPEND A LITTLE EXTRA ON SOMEONE PROFESSIONAL! read more

I am a renter of a property managed by McIntire. I find that their staff is very respondent to maintenance issues, is committed to transparent and honest assessments of property at move-in, and will walk through lease issues with you before signing. The maintenance staff is friendly though the response rate varies. The property itself was updated and mostly clean at move in. Some significant items were missed and I do have electrical issues. That said, at this time I am attributing these aspects mostly to the property and previous tenant and not to mismanagement of the company. read more

This company recently started managing the building I live in and repairs have been quick and easy since then. I used the online portal to request maintenance on my heater (which sometimes wouldn't turn on) and on my kitchen sink (which would sometimes spontaneously fill with water risong from the drain). Both issues were fixed promptly and the vendors that came for each project were kind, respectful and professional. I'm very pleased that both my issues were completely resolved in such a timely manner. read more

So I lived at a McIntire Management property for a year and overall it was a positive experience. The building was clean, responses from management were quick and helpful, and everyone working for them was super friendly. My shower broke once and someone came in a few hours to fix it. Super prompt. The building was in KTown and of course wasn't perfect, but it was a lot nicer than some of my friends' places in the area for the same/slightly more money. There's hardwood (technically considered laminate, but very pretty!) and exposed brick walls. The kitchen was spacious and functioned well. I never had any issues with any of the appliances (they were new when I moved in), and the fridge was a great size for a studio apartment. My only issue was that when I was moving in, I wasn't fully informed by the then-property manager about some things I wish I had known. For one, I was told parking wasn't that difficult. I was new to LA and didn't realize that no matter where you are in KTown, street parking is near impossible if you get home past 7 pm. I was also told that it was no issue to install an AC Unit in my apartment and people did it all the time. I got a phone call later on saying that there was an additional charge to have AC units and that it was in the lease. Oops. Hearing "no issue" made me think I didn't need to let anyone know about it. Again, they since replaced the person who misinformed me, and overall I had a very good experience with the company itself. read more

This is one of those places you should review the ratings before wasting your money with them. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company. I have unanswered emails from several agents saying different things. Agents unaware of cosigner requirements, as well as misinformation on the website on apartments that have already been leased but still show available on the site. They tried calling "after hours" for damage control, not resolving any issue. If I have this many issues with an application and communication, I can only imagine what the tenants go through. Reading these low reviews all make sense! Do not waste your money. Since they get hundreds of applications a day supposedly. What are the chances really? Then to say I qualify for a place once I get a cosigner, just to lease the apartment weeks later. For a cosigner, they require the same information as the applicant. Dont let any agent try and fool you otherwise. No one can still answer my question on why if I qualified for the requirements alone, why I still needed a cosigner. Good luck dealing with these people! They can keep my $70. I do not want my application on file I would never want to deal with this on a regular basis. read more

THEY SUCK!!!!! When they took over the already dilapidated 2 story apt building, they immediately raised the rent. I had already submitted various repair requests to the owner REPEATEDLY, that included poor ventilation vents, grout, and even had to have the tub re-glazed. In addition, the blinds were broken and outdated, and the cobcrete floors were horrible to clean...but i did it. I always keep a ckean home. But once McIntire took over, I decided to move out of state. That's when the BS started. In order to rent the apt, they had to upgrade EVERYTHING! I was even told to leave the refridgerator by the inspector, even after the management company told me to remove it. The inspector said, "I dont think they would mind". So i left it, and cleaned and vacummed the ENTIRE apt! Then these MFs bill me for ALL of the cleaning of the grout, the blinds, andALL of the trash renoval including fridge! These were already items that i reported to the owner! And i have the text messages and photos to prove it! They are dishonest, lying, sneaky CR To charge me for damages that I did not make, is what the issue is! I had asked for ventilation from the owner long before you thieves took control of the building! She knew the apt wasn't clean when I moved in! I had to make sure the outlets were updated, and the rest of the electrical units! The counters were concrete and grout settled into EVERYTHING! None of that was fixed! I asked for vents, So that dust from the fires would not settle! asked that the windows be replaced in the bathroom! I asked for new blinds, in the rooms and nothing!!! I cleaned everything the best that I could, and that wasn't my fault that the owner didn't follow through! My low rent doesn't mean that I didn't deserve upgrades and a clean unit to begin with. The property may be valuable, but those units were not updated! And your inspector is a liar! She told me to leave the fridge! And all of that so called trash wasn't just mine! The tenant that moved out 2 months before me left all of that garbage behind that garage and nobody moved it! But you think you are going to make me pay for it?! The owner knew that garbage was there and did nothing!!! I will see you in court before I pay you $1650 for sh** that wasn't all mine anyway! That is not right and the owner is not being truthful! And if it's on my credit I will have issue with that as well!!! *THIS IS AN UPDATE* So the manager's son responded that it was MY Fault, that I was paying below market value in rent! And that I was an "unclean" tenant! Wow... so my race and my rent amount are now the issue (even though I kept the unit as spotless as I could with no help for repairs or upgrades repeatedly requested of owner)! These crooks are a piece of work! Now they have put the bogus charge of $1650 into collections. Gentrification is alive and well in Monrovia....and so is the fleecing of responsible tenants. read more

My grandma and I just recently moved to a property in Pasadena managed by McIntire, and so far, we really enjoy living here. I can update this review in the future-- but so far they have been great. I found this apartment online for a great price in an amazing location and immediately signed up for a showing -- the whole process didn't take more than a week. My grandma and I were in a bind due to other property management companies trying to take advantage of us, so timing was crucial. I got a prompt response from the on-site property manager, Matt and his daughter, who are just fantastic. They showed us the apartment and it was great. To my surprise, we found out that one of my coworkers actually used to live in the same building! I asked my coworker about the property and the management and he told me it was one of the best places he and his family had lived. After that, we asked how we could apply and Matt informed us that we go through the online process and it's pretty simple. He was right-- it only took my grandma and I a day to fill out the application and send it in. We heard back from Michelle within a few days saying our application was approved. Michelle did a really, really great job staying in communication with me -- whether it be through e-mail or text (more convenient while I'm at work). The next week after that, my grandma and I signed our lease and we were good to go! We moved in and all was smooth. The building we moved into is a bit older, so it's understandable when a few things needed maintenance. Matt is awesome in that he does everything himself and when my grandma couldn't get her bathroom sink to work, we sent in a maintenance request through the online portal -- less than 24 hours and Matt followed up and put in a brand new faucet for her. JFYI, I have had my fair share of property management companies- I've moved to different apartments in Colorado and California. Matt in the Pasadena property that I live in now has already shown that he is better than most and really takes care of all of the units. Michelle with McIntire has been very responsive through the whole process which has also been a refreshing surprise. I have no complaints thus far, but if anything changes, I will update the review. read more

Our property was recently taken over by McIntire Management and I have been pleasantly surprised by the care and attention given regarding maintenance requests. In the past, the former company would send someone out however the job was basically a once over and not necessarily an improvement (think mismatched paint when patching up a crack in the wall). Now that we are a McIntire Managed property I sent it the same request as the prior job was so unsatisfactorily done (and the underlying issue had not been addressed) and this time I was very impressed! The worker that came out was very professional and honored our request to wear a mask and shoe coverings. He even covered a path from the door all along the floor so nothing would track through the house. I was updated throughout the process and very happy with the final outcome! Not that I look forward to sending in more service requests but at least now I don't have to dread it. read more

My wife and I moved to a unit in valley village in 2016 which was mostly run by the onsite manager. For 6 months, everything went smoothly. Any time there was an issue, the onsite manager would be on it in a blink of an eye. Then Mcintire took over and everything went to shit (literally at some point). Josh Mcintire is impossible to get a hold of, he never returns your calls and looks the other way whenever there's a dispute between tenants. For instance, our upstairs neighbor complained about us using our AC at night to the point where he'd be stomping on our ceiling from 2-5 am. We couldn't sleep and the people above him couldn't sleep. This happened on a regular basis. The onsite manager explained to him several times that we're allowed to use it and that he can't expect us not to during summer in Southern California. She even went as far as going into his bedroom, told us to turn the AC all the way up and she barely heard anything worth complaining about. We hung up ceiling fans and put up a ductless vent which made no noise. It was working for a while until Josh threatened to evict us if we didn't take them down because he doesn't understand what a ductless vent is. Neither the fans nor the vent required any wiring or tearing a hole in the wall. It was equivalent to mounting your tv on the wall but he wouldn't listen. We asked if we could have an electrician put them up so he could verify that they were up to code but he wouldn't even give us the time of day. My guess is that he must've thought that our upstairs neighbor was complaining about those utilities despite us and our onsite manager explaining to him several times that it wasn't the case. This whole process of us trying to get a hold of Josh just to ask if we could have a licensed electrician install them took over a month until he just straight up said no, even though the building inspector told me that he saw no problem with it being put up by a professional since there's no re-wiring required. Another incident happened where feces started coming out of our bathtub. I'll say it again; HUMAN SHIT started flooding out of our bathtub. I immediately called maintenance and told them to send someone down asap. 3 hours later, no word of anyone coming down so my wife called and she was informed that someone would come by the following morning. Great, so we're stuck with a clogged up bathtub with human waste coming out of the drain for the next 12 hours.....or so we thought. The next morning there were no signs of anyone coming to fix this. I call them at 10 am and ask if anyone is coming. I have to again explain to them that there's feces coming out of the bathtub and ask them to have the plumber call as soon they talk to him so I at least know that they actually contacted someone. An hour goes by and nothing. I call Josh's phone which I knew wasn't gonna go anywhere and my instincts were right, he doesn't answer so I leave him a message. And as I suspected, he doesn't call me back. I send his wife Julie an email and she says she'll tell someone to get down here asap and tells me to email her if I don't hear anything in an hour. An hour passes and I email her with no response. I call maintenance for 4th time and AGAIN I have to tell them the full detail of what was happening. An hour later, Julie calls me and tells me that the plumber was on his way. The plumber informed me that the maintenance request wasn't sent to him until 10 at night; 7 hours after I had called it in! The source of the problem came from our upstairs neighbor and whatever the hell he was flushing. Before these guys took over, whenever we had a plumbing issue, the onsite manager would send someone down within 2 hours. It took Mcintire over 24 hours when there was human shit coming out of the place where we clean ourselves! The entire apartment smelled like crap and we had to soak the bathtub in bleach for 2 days. If you're unfortunate enough to live under their management and have a problem, don't even bother with Josh. I guarantee you that he will not answer his phone, return your call or email. read more
