    SKY properties is the worst management not to mention the cheap owner with a horribly building "new" building. We moved into a brand new apartment building and the floors are glued laminate and they are splitting. Building management decided to add silicone to cover the finger wide gap's LOL Our second bathroom did not even have a molding for the door you can see through the bathroom gap. The building fire alarm has been set off twice by imbeciles Lighting up firework candles inside of community room. Where every single unit is ringing the fire alarm. New Building has no water flow sometimes. Property management has changed 3 times already. Management lied about the trash and utility bill, we have a Facebook group and tons of people say the same thing.

    The building manager asks me to sign a lease with incorrect info then promises she'll alter it AFTER the fact "once all signatures are in."

    If you believe ignorance is bliss, then you're not going to want to read this post... At the 3400 Cahuenga Blvd. West building, Sky Properties has to shut off the water for a business day, several times a month, in attempt to repair the ancient plumbing system. They peddle this building as being where The Flintstones was made for a reason: IT'S THAT OLD. It's so bad, the office and lobby recently flooded and two fellow tenants actually had to move out because of it! See photos from their apartment, and the water shut-off notices for the entire building below. And after living at this location for two years with zero issues on my end, I attempted to add a second tenant to the lease of my two-bedroom apartment. "Attempted." After Sky Properties approved the new tenant and took my additional $500 security deposit, they sent us a lease that would have stripped us of our promised and advertised parking spaces. We never agreed to this! And things only got worse... Sky Properties then refused to correct the lease FOR MONTHS, even after the latest in a revolving door of office managers instructed us to just sign the incorrect lease that would be altered later, once "all signatures are in." This wasn't going to be an amendment, she just hoped we'd be dumb enough to sign it first. I'M NOT KIDDING. See the last photo below--and notice how once I call her on it, she ignores it... and me altogether. I found this behavior so unethical--and potentially ILLEGAL--I got my ATTORNEY involved. Only after they knew they could be facing litigation, did Sky Properties finally send the new tenant and me a lease that contained our parking spaces. THREE MONTHS LATER. They forced the poor new tenant live in limbo all that time! And maybe the worst part? There were no apologies whatsoever. I might not be writing this if even one person at Sky Properties could have humbled him or herself enough to just say "I'm sorry" on behalf of the company. But that's not all... Sky Properties kept hundreds of dollars in "additional charges" from my security deposit after I moved out. I left voicemails with the main office and the building manager in attempt to find out why--NO RESPONSE. But I can't honestly say I'm surprised: an actual human being never answered the phone once in the four years I lived in a Sky Properties building. BOTTOM LINE: Sky Properties--who works for NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of mega corporation, Comcast--just considers you a line on a spreadsheet once they're already getting your money.

Prior to my tour, I was in contact with Teja who was very helpful. When it came to the day of the tour, I guess there was a mix up in agents, but Janaka ended up showing up to the building, to give me a tour of the place. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable! :) During the application process, the application is very old school. It took us a few days to get everything together. We had to print and scan a bunch of documents then submit it via email. From what I know of family who work in the industry, most applications are done online and you can submit information as well as link bank accounts electronically lol. I wasn't comfortable submitting all of our personal information via email, so I asked for them to call me for additional information that I'd be able to provide over the phone. Although the application process was odd, the service was pretty great. The only reason I deducted a star was because like other reviews have said, they don't get back to you after your application. I had to keep reaching out to them to get answers. I also didn't like that they assume instead of verify. My husband and I rent an ADU in Commerce, but they said "currently listed address in application doesn't seem to be a rental". My husband has been here a few years and I just moved in last year. His driver's license and some bills reflect our current address, but we were never asked for additional information to verify. We also make well over the standard 2.5-3x income. I am pretty chill so I'm okay with not being selected for the unit as it is privately owned, but I didn't appreciate having to wait and keep asking for updates on why we weren't selected lol. Anyways, great people! It's just the communication that could be better and more clear. I would still recommend Perch Properties based on my interactions, because they still respond if you reach out to them :)

Any time I had issues and reached out, he responded promptly. When I had roommate issues and had to make some difficult requests he was super accommodating. Ryan should actually teach courses in how to be the best manager because he truly is the best. Hopefully the new management will be as good as Ryan.

I was initially interested in another unit of theirs in Burbank but as fate would have it, I ended up with the one I got - which I'm truly grateful for. Since the initial unit I was interested in was awarded to a previous tenant, Lily (SIP Agent) who liked my application was kind enough to inform me that a new unit has opened up but would not be ready for another 2 weeks. I agreed to view it and she connected me with Ryan (SIP Property Site Coordinator) to schedule a day to come by for a quick walkthrough. Despite it being in the middle of renovation/facelift, I can already tell it would look nice once it's done. After I suggested some cost savings options (rather than a full upgrade) for the kitchen and flooring, the owner decided to fully upgrade both kitchen and bathroom. I informed Ryan of my silver/gray/white theme and got approval from the owner to proceed with silver/chrome fixtures/hardware and white kitchen cabinets. They also agreed to paint the entire unit to match the wall colors of the initial apartment I was interested in - and even allowed me to choose a carpet color to complement the entire look of the unit . The 2-week wait was so worth it! I loved that the building is close to all amenities, including my place of work. I loved the subterranean garage with wide parking spaces (unlike others that are too crammed) and how quiet the building is (no yellers or loud music). Most importantly, Ryan and Sean (Building Manager) were ALWAYS SO QUICK to address any issues I may have regarding my unit and the building (which, to be honest, not a lot). Overall, I am truly grateful to have gotten my unit and will cherish the memories I get to spend there with my friends and family.

    The WORST management company ever! I have lived at my unit for over 16 years now where this complex…read moreis likely 80 years or so old with little to no improvements...our rent is "cheap". We all have understandably had many issues with the upkeep as the owners and management company don't ever want to fit things professionally or at all. Worst is now it is causing damaged to my vehicle which the management company says that isn't their issue while not returning my phone calls or voice message and taking if further by now deleting my maintenance requests every time I put one in....and since the owner says that I am lying about it. Lying? Sounds like someone is pushing blame and not wanting to handle their responsibilities to me. Lying about what? Look at the photos! The overhead until of the garage I park in has had leaky pipes off and on for years which has been packed and not professionally every time it's gotten so bad we can't just ignore said issues anymore. Now that daily I have more damage to my vehicle I'm told I'm a layer and, I don't know, I just feel like lying about it or am I photoshopping these photos or what? Seriously! Perhaps the management company should handle these issues before further damage is caused if they don't want to deal with the further damage from their lack of professionalism. Do what you're being paid for people! See photos for proof of all my "lies"!
