Most of the ladies who work there do not speak English just like in Miami, but there is always one who speaks a little English and if you can speak a little Espanol and point to what you want, you will get what you came there for. Our server was friendly and helped us get our favorite guava pastries. Their prices are very reasonable here. They were fresh baked and smelled so good! They also have Cuban coffee, iced and hot. They make delicious cakes and donuts. And the favorite there is the Cuban Sandwich, which is generously filled with ham, shredded pork, pickle, cheese and crusty bread. They also have pastelitos and croquettas. Parking is right in front of the super cute casa restaurant. There is outdoor dining and a few tables inside also. They have a drive-in also. It is clean and nicely decorated. We will go back next trip.

It was brought to our table on a steel pizza serving tray and felt like a Food Challenge. It was a massive mound of food with sausage links, bacon, french toast, pancakes, cantaloupe, grits, hash browns, bisquits & gravy with 12 scrambled eggs. We could not finish it and we were in a food coma. The bathroom was clean and somewhat modern with a handwritten sign reminding employees to wash their hands before returning to work. I applaud the owner/management for this addition.

We came on a Saturday about 3:00 pm and it was pretty slow (not season so that explains it) and we were the only ones sitting at the bar. The restaurant has great water views and open air feel. Our server/bartender Kelly was great!! She was super nice, fun and took great care of us! Food: It was happy hour when we were there (3-6 daily at the bar) so we ordered a tuna nacho (one serving from the happy hour menu), sushi wonton tacos (3 pieces from the happy hour menu) and the philly cheesesteak egg rolls! Everything was excellent! Definitely will be coming back next time we are in town! And again, thank you Kelly for a great time and service!

We were really looking forward to returning to Island Grill, as it had been quite some time since…read moreour last visit, before they reopened. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We ordered our drinks, but our waiter never mentioned any of the appetizer specials. We then ordered the ahi tuna, which arrived surprisingly quickly--even before our drinks. The tuna was fresh, and the sauces were delicious, but the nachos were extremely soggy and honestly terrible. Shortly afterward, we overheard another waiter telling a nearby table about the appetizer specials, including stone crabs and smoked fish dip. Really? We would have loved to know about those options before ordering! When our waiter took our entrée orders, he only mentioned the main course special. My husband ordered the hogfish with macadamia sauce. Although the sauce was very good and the fish tasted fresh, it was undercooked and still a bit raw in the center. I ordered the mahi fingers, which were fine but nothing memorable. The service was equally disappointing. By the time our entrées arrived, we had already finished our drinks. We were never offered water or drink refills, and our waiter never came back to check whether we were enjoying our meals. It's especially disappointing because we had been so excited to return after the reopening. While some of the ingredients were fresh and the sauces were tasty, the overall experience fell far short of our expectations. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

Gyoza was ok. The crispy tuna was terrible. I kept one because I felt bad sending both back to the kitchen, but the other one we sent back and ordered a crunchy JB roll instead. Waiting a long time , and when it finally arrived- it was beep fried in thick batter. Like they never heard of tempura? She never came back to check on us. And when the bill came, she didn't provide me with a receipt , just the electronic reader with an amount. I asked if I could see the receipt and she pretended she couldn't understand me. I asked if I was being charged for the returned item and was told no. She stayed staring at me to make sure I put a tip before she walked away. Latter, I checked, and I had been charged for the returned item. They also sat us by a curtained off space in the wall with seemed to lead to a storage space in a lived in apartment. Were they living there? Now I have to fight to get a refund without a receipt. Just don't go there. Terrible in every aspect

Pretty much all the seating is outside so if you're a person that needs air conditioning, this maybe is not the best place for you. My favorite thing on the menu is the grouper Reuben.
