This review is for the restaurant not the pub. We came for lunch and found all the usual Irish pub…read moreofferings. The pie of the day, not on the menu, was steak and kidney, which I had to try "for research purposes". The pastry crust extended to the sides and bottom so it fully enclosed the filling and was served "freestanding". Crust and gravy were excellent. In the filling, both the steak and the kidneys were plentiful. My research completed, I probably wouldn't order it again; just give me the steak - no more kidneys please! Nevertheless I did enjoy and finished it. This was served with decent fries and a truly excellent green salad: a variety of leafy greens, radishes, cucumbers, pickled onions, and pre-dressed with a vinaigrette. The wife had the Beef & Guinness Casserole, served with brown bread. Along with steak there were also plentiful veggies (root vegetables and celery) and mashed potatoes in the center. She liked it. I tried it and agreed. I would get that next time. I had a Jameson Old Fashioned to drink and it was the best Old Fashioned I've had in some time. The unusually large twisted orange peel probably contributed and it may have had more than the customary amount of bitters. The wife's tea was amusingly served with a knitted "cozy" keeping the teapot hot. For dessert we shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding, served with vanilla ice cream, attractively presented with a dusting of sugar, whipped cream, and a ground cherry complete with its leaves. I'd rate it second among the three I've tried so far. Would certainly order it again. As for the pub I can't say. It has a reputation for good traditional Irish music every night but unfortunately not until 9:30, way too late for us. Sadly we're just not pub people.

Music starts at 9pm. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had fish and chips, the stuffed chicken and sticky toffee pudding. Washed it all down with a couple of Guinness and a Red Spot whiskey! It was a lovely meal.

We had an awesome meal at this unique bar/pub/restaurant for our final night in Ireland. The…read moreinside is totally unique-all the seating is divided up into tiny rooms or booths so it feels VERY private and cozy. We had a view to the front street so also good people watching. The menu has lots of inventive twists on the classic Irish pub menu. We started with the warm garlic bread with Brie and honey-delicious and sticky (bit they give you wet wipes). We also tried their version of a wedge salad which was fine but pales a bit when Compared to its American cousin. The real standout for uniqueness was the 7 oz filet served at the table on an 800 degree stone. It comes out seared in the kitchen on the stone so you can then finish it to your liking (hint: slice it to make things easier and faster). The steak came with several sides including patatas bravas, onion rings and more and at €46 was a decent deal. We shared all the courses and it was plenty of food. The modest wine list has several by the glass options but no real standouts. Glasses come in Two sizes. I REALLY enjoyed the smoked old fashioned drink with earthy woodsmoke trapped then released from the glass at the table. It's a bit tough on the servers-the layout-as it is harder to keep an eye on your customers so expect service to feel a little off/leisurely. A great time and a fun spot right in the heart of Killarney. Highly recommended.

We…read morebriefly looked at the menu outside the restaurant before going in as we had picky eaters in our group but there was something everyone liked on the menu. The server wasn't the most friendly but she was efficient and kept our drinks filled including the big water pitcher we were given. I ordered calamari for the appetizer and it was good. It came out quick! We all had pasta for our entrees - I went with the spaghetti alla pescatora which had several types of seafood in it - and I thought it was so good. Very flavorful and it was a lot of food for the price. The entrees took a bit of time to come out but we were not in a rush so it was okay. They had several TVs throughout the restaurant set to different channels. The one near our table was playing what seemed to be some type of soap opera and it was cracking us up. Not what you would expect of this type of restaurant especially with how busy it was when we were here but it kept us entertained nonetheless! We were lucky that they allowed us to split the check up at the bar! It made our dining experience much easier and many restaurants don't like to split the check so this was much appreciated. There is a note on the menu that if they are super busy, they ask that you don't split the check.
