THIS PLACE IS A MUST! I wish that I could give this place more than 5 stars! Everything was perfect - from the service to the food. We were traveling through the Irish country side and our Air BnB host suggested this place and even made a reservation for us. We arrived a little before closing time of the kitchen and the staff was more than happy to accommodate us and very willing to serve a party of 6. Our server was so friendly and personable. She had us laughing the entire night. It really just made for the overall perfect dining experience. She gave us a full run down of the menu and told us about her favorites - and let me tell you...her recommendations were spot on! Since there were 6 of us - we all ordered something different off the menu so each of us could try it. Trying to make a decision was so hard because it all sounded so good. It was pretty difficult figuring out who had the best dish. For an appetizer, I got the seafood chowder and it was seriously the best chowder I've ever had. I didn't even want to order seafood chowder again on the trip because I was so spoiled by how delicious the one at The Bianconi was. I still am telling people how good it is. There was so much seafood in it and big chunks, too - they definitely do not skimp on the seafood meat in their chowder. It came in a bowl and was an actual serving - so if getting as an appetizer I would suggest sharing with someone. I got the monkfish special. It was buttery and cooked to perfection and so flavorful - and to make it even better it was perfectly topped with a cheese sauce. My fiancé got the half orange glazed ginger duck and oh my it was great! Cooked perfectly and the skin was lightly charred to make it crunchy. The meat was so moist and the orange and ginger glaze made for a great flavor! If you're passing through the Irish country side and want a great place to eat with staff that gives you a warm welcome - I would HIGHLY suggest coming here!

I don't know where to start with this place. Everything was perfect! We are traveling through the Irish country side and our air bnb host suggest this place. We arrived right around closing time of the kitchen. The staff was more than happy to accommodate us and still serve us. Our server was so friendly! She gave us the full rundown of the menu and offered us to try her favorites. She was very personable and made the experience magnificent. Our group of 6 ordered a variety off of the menu. It turned into a strong conversation of who had the best dish. We tried everyone's and everything was amazing. So many great options and everything lived up to the hype. For an appetizer I got the seafood chowder. It was the best chowder I have ever had! It was filled with seafood meat and the biggest stone crab claw! I thought it was going to be a cup since it an appetizer but it was a full serving. I would suggest splitting it with other people. My girlfriend got the special of monk fish. It was cooked perfectly and was buttery and perfectly topped with cheese. I got the half orange glazed ginger duck. It was perfectly cooked with the skin lightly charred to make it crunchy. The meat was moist and cooked perfectly. The orange glaze with ginger topped it off with perfect taste. If you are passing through the area and need friendly faces and a place to eat, make sure you stop by!

Consistently high standard food and a great atmosphere in the place. I'm a local and go there occasionally to eat and have a few drinks. The chef Mike is a real talent. Owned by brothers Rick & Ray Sheehy this is a staple of Kerry food. No trip along the Ring of Kerry would be complete without sampling something in this establishment. Soup, famous salads and tasty a la carte menu, you can't go wrong. Something for everyone I assure you.

Kitty O’Se’s - Perfect fish and chips!

Top notch dining at Kitty's. This is your spot for an upscale seafood restaurant in Killarney,…read morewhether you are craving mains from the sea or land or both. I visited with family, and although we showed up a half hour ahead of our reservation they were able to accommodate and seat us right away. My family had been in search of a quality serving of oysters during our Ireland trip and took the opportunity here without a doubt. There are several options to order them and you can order as little as three at a time, which is nice since some places only do half dozen increments. The waitstaff was attentive and we even had the manager helping as well, although they did not always keep up with our quick wine drinking as well had to remind them to pour more wine a few times. A patron even pulled the fire alarm on accident but the manager quickly turned it off before it became a distraction. I would recommend Kitty's to any tourist looking for a higher quality meal on their trip like we were.

"Sea bass" served with a nice pomegranate mango topping, fried half potatoes and steamed vegetables. Both were good. Murphys beer on tap for those tired of Guinness. Service efficient but not chatty. Ambiance is pretty plain. Nothing special. The music is American country, which is a little odd. Food was the highlight.

This meant loosened belts and full bellies most of our time in the city and we couldn't have been happier! On our second night in town, we were after an early dinner as we had plans at another local pub later in the evening. After a stroll around town, Mad Monk was the spot! Apparently Quinlan's is a small chain with several spots around Ireland, and after popping in, we can tell why. The thing that stood out the most for us at Mad Monk was the freshness of all the goods, specifically the seafood. I enjoy a good grilled or pan seared fish filet, but being in Ireland, it was my mission to try as many fish and chips as I could, and Mad Monk was next on the list! Before we dove into our mains, we did order one of the only non-seafood dishes on the menu, the braised beef croquettes. They were absolutely tasty, and set up our mains very well! We both went with the traditional fish and chips. The fish was perfectly fried and flaky and the tartar sauce was *chefs kiss*! I will say, as with most chips around the island, the chips were a bit underwhelming. They were slightly crispy and fluffy inside, but I am not a huge fan of steak fries and they definitely could have used a bit more seasoning. Service was solid, efficient and friendly. The space is quaint, bright and sleek. Lots of woods and blues, which definitely give the vibes of seafood. Overall, Mad Monk was a solid spot and one we glad we visited during our short stay in Killarney!

All of our entrees were exceptional Great cheerful service. Very highly recommended Slainte

We ordered the following: Starters *House cured salmon and cod in nori seaweed - excellent, sushi quality, the cod was nice and salty, portion wasn't the largest *Warm smoked mackerel with horseradish and dill dressing - really tasty and a nice portion *Flash pan squid with chiles and coriander- outstanding with a kick Mains *Pan fried black sole on the bone, dill, and toasted almond butter-maybe the star of the show, a large portion, fall of the bone and the toasted almond butter was awesome *OOTB fish selection; John Dory, sole and halibut fillets served with a lobster sauce - the fish was great, but the lobster sauce had zero flavor *Dingle bay lobster from the tank- we got the last one, it was excellent The beer and wine were excellent. The service was great. The interior had a tile floor with a sort of Mexican fishing village theme. Reasonably priced for top level fresh seafood. Highly recommend.

The front is a basic and unassuming, but neat, blue building. Inside remains simple, but quality, with light wood, soft light, and sea themed decor. As the menu changes so frequently, a dish can run out that evening, it is handwritten on a chalkboard that is brought to the table. It was very difficult to choose, the entire menu was well done. The brown bread was also the best of the trip, theirs had more seeds and the right balance of dense. Be careful to not fill up on bread as you will not want to miss any of the rest of the meal. Since the menu changes so frequently, describing what we ordered is not helpful. Both dishes were incredible, fresh, cooked perfectly, and with interesting and well matched ingredients. We ate every possible bite. We managed to save room and share a dessert, worth every calorie. I'm surprised to see any negative reviews. In my option, for the quality of the meal, the prices were completely reasonable. If you are in Dingle (which if you go to Ireland you absolutely should as the town deserves a visit), make reservations!
