Best mussels EVER!
Tia P.

Wow! We stopped in for a snack and beverage after exploring in Killarney National Park. The atmosphere is cute. We got to sit near the window and watch the world go by. The server was polite and pleasant. We shared an order of mussels and I was honestly blown away. They were the best mussels I've ever eaten, anywhere in the world. That's extra special because we used to live 1/2 hour from Penn Cove, Washington. If we had been in Killarney longer I would have loved to return for a proper meal.

5 out of 5 voted best fish & chips for the entire trip

Don't let the outside fool you, inside it is very bright and clean and inviting. The staff are super friendly, and the service was excellent and relatively quick. We had just came in from London and we're working away around Ireland. This was the best fish and chips we experienced on the entire trip! Five out of five agree lol. Plus, you got a little side of mushy peas to try as opposed to most places having to order it as a side that you may not even like. Having a little side of that was just enough. Everything we ordered was great, I did not get enough pictures. But you definitely want to eat here if you are in Killarney! Maybe even twice. Spoiler alert the second best fish and chips we had was also in Ireland, London took last place in that category.

If you're looking for a seafood place in Killarney, Kitty O'Se's is a great option in their downtown area. If it's a busy season, you might consider making a reservation to ensure you have a table, otherwise, they do take walk-ins. A note for visitors, if you plan to tip on a credit card, you can't, so bring cash. Parking: There's some paid/free car parks like Fair Hill and Lewis Road. Make sure to check the sign to see if it's during a metered time or if it's free. The Food: Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. We started with the seafood chowder, which was creamy and rich. For mains, we had the sea bass and hake, both were tasty, and I would recommend them. Service: The service here was exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure our experience was flawless, even though it was a casual restaurant. Overall, Kitty O'Se's is the perfect seafood spot if you're craving seafood in Killarney. It's the kind of place that makes you feel at home. I would recommend it whether you're staying here or passing through.

fresh seafood tagliatelle

We did not have a reservation here but they made space for us to be able to eat. Everything we had was spectacular!! We ordered the grilled oysters, coquilles st. jacques, seafood chowder & fresh seafood tagliatelle. The atmosphere was nice and not too loud. Was one of our favorite restaurants while on vacation in Ireland!

2 glasses of Los Tilos Sauvignon Blanc: delicious white wine!

We didn't have much planned out for food while in Killarney. We had intended to explore and have an adventure, and that's exactly what we did. Meeting up with a new friend the night before, he recommended Kitty O'Se's when we asked where we could get some amazing seafood. We were able to get a last minute booking, and we actually got to sit outside, which was absolutely lovely. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and service was second to none. Our server was attentive, quick, and super friendly. We ordered the seafood tower, which was AMAZING (mussels, oysers, fish goujons, lobster, prawns, squid), and the seared scallops. The scallops were absolute perfection. Everything was SO good. For dessert, we had a flat white (yum), bailey's cheesecake, which I could cry it was that good, and an absolutely epic cheeseboard, that came with a shot of port. If you find yourself near Kitty O'Se's, stop in. You will not regret it. The food was absolutely delicious.

We just finished driving the Ring Of Kerry and was on the hunt for some seafood & stumbled on Kitty O'Se's. We were seated quickly and given menus. While looking at the menu, a server came over to tell us about the specials for the day and we ended up getting the Tomahawk cooked on a stone for 2 which included some seafood of mussels and shrimp for €75. This isn't the best quality tomahawk I've had, but it was still very delicious. It came with sides of sautéed mushroom, onions, tomato, roasted potato's, & vegetable medley, along with 2 dipping sauces and butter. The mussels were my favorite part. They were made in some sort of cream sauce and my boyfriend who is not a seafood eater also really enjoyed them. Service was very attentive and we felt very taken care of. We would definitely come back again!

Spinach and ricotta ravioli

What an amazing experience!! We loved our meals.. got the calamari and Caesar salad to start, the ricotta and spinach ravioli, their famous fish and chips, and then the cheesecake of the day which was mars flavored! The portions are perfect. From the service to the food to the atmosphere, this is absolutely a 5 star restaurant. So happy we spent 1 of our 2 nights in Killarney here! Loved that we could simply email the restaurant to make a reservation.

An amazing experience at Kitty O'Se's! The service was phenomenal and the food was our favorite food we have had so far in Ireland. Highly recommend. Make sure to make a reservation with them.

Lobster, seafood, and pasta special

Great meal at a reasonable price, and wonderful service as well! I believe reservations are highly recommended.

We got the steak special with vegetables and potatoes. Very yummy & amazing service!!

Cold part of the seafood tower. The smoked salmon is to DIE for.

OH MY GOODNESS GO HERE. The staff are so wonderful. Our waitresses and the management were so kind and accommodating. Make a reservation at night to sit inside, they'd appreciate it I'm sure. The seafood tower is PHENOMENAL. The wine is great. They don't have a full bar, but do yourself a favor and get a bottle of wine instead. The crab claws are the biggest I've ever seen. This was the best place we ate our entire honeymoon. Again, the food is incredible... seriously the best and most fresh seafood and tenderly battered fried fish... but the staff make the place. We will be back ANY time we come to Ireland. Thank y'all for a wonderful experience!

Our dinner was a welcome alternative to classic Irish cuisine. We made reservations, arrived early, and were seated promptly. They have a time limit on the tables, and very generous by American standards. Our wait staff were friendly, helpful, and there when we needed them. We found the atmosphere to be warm, comfortable, relaxed, friendly, and rustic. It was also cool to peak into the Kitchen and watch one of the owners in made-to-order action. One thing about tapas/pintxos restaurants is that 2 things sneak up on you as you continue to order small plates: the overall bill and how full you become before you know it. For the 4 of us, our total came out to 161 Euros (including a 12.5% service charge), which I thought was a good value for the quality of food and drinks received. Our choices included 4 different glasses of wine from a very nice list, with prices ranging from 10-16 Euros. We also had 1 coffee and 3 Herbal teas at the end. In between, our food choices were: - Grilled Sour Dough, Confit Cherry Tomatoes & Dingle Sea Salt + Extra - Roasted Almonds - Crisp O Connors Spuds "Bravas Style" Manchego & Aioli - Chorizo Sausage - Chorizo & Manchego Croquette, Aioli, Dingle Sea Salt - Fig Tempura, Dingle Goats Cheese, Peppered Honey - Potato Hash We enjoyed all our choices, with the only one comment that the croquette was a bit rich for our pedestrian tastes. We'd gladly come back to explore the menu further, which probably changes from time to time.

I got a pint of Guinness and the roast of the day. The roast was absolutely excellent. I really enjoyed the gravy over the top and the stuffing underneath. The meat was cooked very well. The service was great and made me feel at home on the other side of the pond. I really enjoy when the server walks you through the menu after you ask questions to help you arrive at the right entree, which is exactly what happened. I will be visiting again before I go home and definitely when I come back to the fine town of Kanturk.

I love the stone and lacquered wood finishes inside. This is the kind of place where you see the owner invested and working at his restaurant. I came here with my boyfriend, his brother and sister for lunch and can say that The Vintage did not disappoint! The food here is much nicer than you would expect at a bar and there was proper wait staff which is why I would consider it more of a restaurant than bar or bottle shop. Anyway, we sat down and ordered 2 appetizers, 4 mains, 3 desserts and 2 coffees all for the whopping price of 73€, I nearly fell off my bar stool. Such good value for delicious food and good portion sizes. I shared some of the mushroom soup and brown bread which was so flavorful and creamy but not too heavy. I could eat that brown bread all day but resisted since I had a fillet of fish on the way. My fish was cooked perfectly, not over battered and super moist. Almost everyone at the table ordered the fish which was a crowd pleaser. The table shared sides of veg, potatoes and chips which were all delicious, I'd say my favorite was the broccoli. Despite being smothered in creamy maybe cheesiness, I can still say I ate my greens for the day, right? Whatever they put on it, I could eat those just on its own....ok with a side of that brown bread. I would definitely come back. It's not a fancy Star rated restaurant in looks and feel, but a warm cozy place where you could take the whole family or just enjoy with friends. I felt the food was extremely good value and service was excellent.
