A good tourist town restaurant specializing in seafood and steak. Fish and chips prepared perfectly and served piping hot. "Sea bass" served with a nice pomegranate mango topping, fried half potatoes and steamed vegetables. Both were good. Murphys beer on tap for those tired of Guinness. Service efficient but not chatty. Kitty O'Se's was recommended by the host of our B&B in Killarney, Ireland. It's a nice restrauant; quaint, cozy and romantic inside, with limited alfresco dinning available. We chose the alfresco option. We started with an order of oysters and a a bottle of Little Eden Shariz from eastern Australia. It was was smooth, with a nice nose and a smooth finish. The ostyers were amazing, just wish I could have had my horseradish and Tabasco sauce with them. The sea bass was very good and I really liked the mango pomegranate salsa which is unusual for me as I would normally not even taste such a concoction. The salsa was tasty and paired very well with the sea bass. The side salad was difficult to eat. The cup was small and spillage was inevitable. The service was good with one exception, the bill for dinner was never brought to the table, after waiting for a while, I went in and paid the tab. Prehaps that's a cultural thing. Prices were moderate-high. All in all an enjoyable but it did not rise to the level of five star. read more

The bartender down the street highly recommended this place. He wasn't wrong. Service from the door to the check was fantastic. I was too hungry to take a picture but the food looked delicious. A lunch portion of green salad (and Ireland has the greenest salad!) and seafood pie was very filling. Pie was rich and creamy with large chunks of fresh seafood, topped with warm mashed potato. My partner had traditional fish and chips. The cod filet was large, fresh, and flaky. Potato's weren't overly salty and were tasty; like potatoes that weren't trying too hard. Wow! We stopped in for a snack and beverage after exploring in Killarney National Park. The atmosphere is cute. We got to sit near the window and watch the world go by. The server was polite and pleasant. We shared an order of mussels and I was honestly blown away. They were the best mussels I've ever eaten, anywhere in the world. Don't let the outside fool you, inside it is very bright and clean and inviting. The staff are super friendly, and the service was excellent and relatively quick. We had just came in from London and we're working away around Ireland. This was the best fish and chips we experienced on the entire trip! Five out of five agree lol. Plus, you got a little side of mushy peas to try as opposed to most places having to order it as a side that you may not even like. Having a little side of that was just enough. Everything we ordered was great, I did not get enough pictures. But you definitely want to eat here if you are in Killarney! Maybe even twice. Top notch dining at Kitty's. This is your spot for an upscale seafood restaurant in Killarney, whether you are craving mains from the sea or land or both. I visited with family, and although we showed up a half hour ahead of our reservation they were able to accommodate and seat us right away. My family had been in search of a quality serving of oysters during our Ireland trip and took the opportunity here without a doubt. There are several options to order them and you can order as little as three at a time, which is nice since some places only do half dozen increments. The waitstaff was attentive and we even had the manager helping as well, although they did not always keep up with our quick wine drinking as well had to remind them to pour more wine a few times. A patron even pulled the fire alarm on accident but the manager quickly turned it off before it became a distraction. Greeted at the door by Kitty herself, who had a table set up to make room for use on the patio( restaurant was full) to our delight the welcoming we received was gracious and warm, the food & service -outstanding!!! My wife had the ravioli, and I had a special, a filet of beef served on a lava stone which I finished cooking on the stone at the table!! One of the best steak dishes I have had in my 70 years on this planet! The crispy potatoes , and steamed vegetables helped to make this such a memorable meal!! We were able to get a last minute booking, and we actually got to sit outside, which was absolutely lovely. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and service was second to none. Our server was attentive, quick, and super friendly. We ordered the seafood tower, which was AMAZING (mussels, oysers, fish goujons, lobster, prawns, squid), and the seared scallops. The scallops were absolute perfection. Everything was SO good. For dessert, we had a flat white (yum), bailey's cheesecake, which I could cry it was that good, and an absolutely epic cheeseboard, that came with a shot of port. We arrived at Kitty O'Se's without a reservation but they were able to accommodate us after a short wait which we really appreciated! It was worth the wait!! The food was outstanding, the service was attentive without being overbearing and the atmosphere was fun. We just finished driving the Ring Of Kerry and was on the hunt for some seafood & stumbled on Kitty O'Se's. We were seated quickly and given menus. While looking at the menu, a server came over to tell us about the specials for the day and we ended up getting the Tomahawk cooked on a stone for 2 which included some seafood of mussels and shrimp for €75. This isn't the best quality tomahawk I've had, but it was still very delicious. It came with sides of sautéed mushroom, onions, tomato, roasted potato's, & vegetable medley, along with 2 dipping sauces and butter. The mussels were my favorite part. They were made in some sort of cream sauce and my boyfriend who is not a seafood eater also really enjoyed them. Service was very attentive and we felt very taken care of. OH MY GOODNESS GO HERE. The staff are so wonderful. Our waitresses and the management were so kind and accommodating. Make a reservation at night to sit inside, they'd appreciate it I'm sure. The seafood tower is PHENOMENAL. The wine is great. They don't have a full bar, but do yourself a favor and get a bottle of wine instead. The crab claws are the biggest I've ever seen. This was the best place we ate our entire honeymoon. Again, the food is incredible... seriously the best and most fresh seafood and tenderly battered fried fish... but the staff make the place. My husband and I stopped here for lunch after a cold, rainy kayak adventure that morning. The seafood chowder was the best I have ever had! It was just what we needed to warm up. The appetizer would have been enough for me to eat as my meal. I ordered the special, the fish sandwich, and my hubby ordered the fish and chips. My portion was huge.
