My sea bass was two smaller fish on top of a squash purée and served with a side of boiled potatoes with dill, carrots and a pickled red cabbage (I think). It was very good and filling. The pork roast was very tender. It was served with mash potatoes and a side of apple sauce. Both dishes were lovely. The decor was very trendy and sea inspired. Very cool that the owners based the restaurant on the Irish explorer Tom Crean who came from Kerry. He was a great Antarctic explorer during the early 1900s. I felt welcomed even though it was a fancy restaurant and I had my Havaianas on my feet. People started streaming in and were dressed up. The servers were very tentative and sweet. It would be a perfect spot for a romantic dinner. They also have an early bird special before 6:30pm that read 2 course meal for 21€ (would be great if that included a house beer or wine). Our dinner was a welcome alternative to classic Irish cuisine. We made reservations, arrived early, and were seated promptly. They have a time limit on the tables, and very generous by American standards. Our wait staff were friendly, helpful, and there when we needed them. We found the atmosphere to be warm, comfortable, relaxed, friendly, and rustic. It was also cool to peak into the Kitchen and watch one of the owners in made-to-order action. One thing about tapas/pintxos restaurants is that 2 things sneak up on you as you continue to order small plates: the overall bill and how full you become before you know it. For the 4 of us, our total came out to 161 Euros (including a 12.5% service charge), which I thought was a good value for the quality of food and drinks received. Our choices included 4 different glasses of wine from a very nice list, with prices ranging from 10-16 Euros. We also had 1 coffee and 3 Herbal teas at the end. I came here with my boyfriend, his brother and sister for lunch and can say that The Vintage did not disappoint! The food here is much nicer than you would expect at a bar and there was proper wait staff which is why I would consider it more of a restaurant than bar or bottle shop. Anyway, we sat down and ordered 2 appetizers, 4 mains, 3 desserts and 2 coffees all for the whopping price of 73€, I nearly fell off my bar stool. I could eat that brown bread all day but resisted since I had a fillet of fish on the way. My fish was cooked perfectly, not over battered and super moist. Despite being smothered in creamy maybe cheesiness, I can still say I ate my greens for the day, right?
