Way back in April my rowdy family visited Mick and Jimmy's for lunch and absolutely loved it. We had crappy internet the entire trip, so we never got the chance to leave the reviews we wanted. I just came across a delicious photo of my lunch from that day, and had to come back and write that review we owed this place. Great food, great menu, and great service. We had a lovely conversation with our waiter, felt like we got to know him personally. Mick and Jimmy's was a pleasant surprise on a quick stop for lunch, nobody expected it to be one of the food highlights of our trip...but it certainly was! This was our last morning in Kenmare and through we had found all the good breakfast spots, then we found Mick & Jimmy's. To start, there is only four restaurants that open before 9:00. This being one of them. The service was friendly and quick. The coffee was really good. I had the Dingle Bay Crab Breakfast Sandwich. The crab, cheese, avocado with the delicious roll. Yum. My son had the Nacho Libre Omelette. It was more of a skillet then a omelette, but really good. The chorizo was excellent. The we sampled a few pastries, that also were great. You must come here. Great food in an informal, friendly atmosphere. When I say, great food, I mean, worthy of maybe 7 or 8 stars. We had breakfast twice and dinner once and it was all excellent. Prices are reasonable. The poached eggs and pesto breakfast is really inspired. Delicious kale pesto is made in house and served with beautiful poached eggs. Avocado toast is also splendid. For dinner, one of us had crispy shrimp with coconut rice and asian slaw. It was delicious and even better they adjusted the dish to her food intolerances without sacrificing quality. We also ordered a burger which was excellent. Coffee is also great quality, and the baked stuff, yum. Highest recommendation! read more

During vacation in late August. This is nice little casual brunch place. It's awesome. Great service. All the stuff we wanted for a late breakfast or lunch. Ate here 3-4 times that week. Lots of sausage, bacon, eggs, coffee and pancakes. Toddler was happy. Clean easy to use bathrooms, too. read more

We loved Mick & Jimmy's! They had great options and the food was delicious. They were very nice and are accustomed to American customers. Which means their pancakes are traditional fluffy pancakes. They are right next door to Virginia's Guesthouse which doesn't serve breakfast so.ots a great spot if your staying there. read more

Located and the high street just as you get into Kenmare. Outstanding meal and atmosphere. We were a group of 12 and everyone raved about the quality of the food and service. Both Mick who runs the front and Jimmy who runs the kitchen are friendly and engaging. I'm a bit of a beer nerd and they have a nice selection of local beer in large bottles. I had the daily special salmon fish and chips, my wife friends and kids had curry, burgers, pasta and it was all great. Plenty of parking on side streets. read more

Super good & cute lil cafe!! Food is labeled so the quinoa bowl can be made vegan if you leave off the fried egg. My non-vegan family members enjoyed their meals as well. Would definitely recommend & the waitstaff was rly friendly. happy american!!! read more

Great alternative in a sea of pub food around Kenmare. Food was lighter, service brighter, and atmosphere was just right-er! We got a variety of things off of the menu and all four of us scarfed down our meals and instantly wiped our hands off so we could ready them to post good reviews. read more

Drove all around Ireland for a few weeks in September and spent four or five nights in Kenmare. After being back home for about a month, one of the memorable parts of the trip was the food at Mick & Jimmys. Unassuming, cool and tidy place with really amazing, tasty and imaginative food for a very fair price. Probably ate here 5 times, and tried both breakfast and lunch. Mick is a really friendly guy, though never met his brother and chef extraordinaire, Jimmy. My extended family agrees with me that this restaurant is tops. read more
