Latte & Scone with Marmalade/Delicious!!!
Laura G.

I had the best scone and latte at the Mug & Bean. My latte was made to absolute perfection and served in a nice tall glass. The scone and orange marmalade was amazing. Both were so fresh and went wonderfully together. The service was also wonderful. It was all so wonderful that purposely returned late on the same afternoon and was very disappointed to experience a change of shift and a really awful employee. She showed bold disdain for America tourists and was openly rude. She went as far as to serve our coffees in to go cups and did not want to give a description of a baked good. There was a point were she tried to skip one of us to instead serve a local who walked in while we were ordering. This was hugely disappointing and it made me really appreciate the previous employees. I made a point to not visit the Mug & Bean again during my stay in Ireland. It wasn't worth taking the chance at being treated poorly.

I came due to the fact they open earlier than most places. I was hungry and needed a coffee. I'm from SoCal (USA) so I've eaten lots of avocado, like Forrest Gump can name shrimp dishes I can name avocado dishes. I was intrigued with the Smashed Avocado on the menu and it was a delight. The coffee was very good. Plenty of sitting at this time of day. The desserts and pastries looked very enticing. It's too bad the Smashed Avocado filled me up. Someone should introduce them to Tapito!

My first time visiting Killarney and this little spot was absolutely delicious! Staff was friendly and food came out quickly. Definitely recommend!

Looks really cute from the outside and has potential but it seems like everyone inside is miserable. No one greets you as you walk in. No one smiles. Cafetería style line up. There is confusion when ordering. The younger employees seem to just stare at you while you wait and one woman runs the front of the house. The food is good and fast. I ate a typical style breakfast with a latte. Not amazing but not bad.

Visited twice while in Killarney. Good coffee and good eats! Kind servers! Easy location to get to all Killarney spots.

Great early morning cafe in Killarney. Great coffee and food. The smashed avocado dish is to die for.

Cafe Du Parc - soufflé pancakes and vanilla latte

Cafe Du Parc

Had a quick dinner here before catching the train leaving Killarney. Situated at Plaza Hotel, the…read moreplace had delicate interior decor and lighting. The bar also had some nice alcohol and spirits. Calamari: very juicy and enormous calamri coated with crispy pastry and nice seasoning. Probably some of the "largest" calamari I've seen. Chicken wings: some would call them authentic Buffalo spicy, I was just not a fan of the flavor profile myself. But the texture was quite juicy. Fish and chips: piping hot with crispy dough. The fish itself is slightly mushy though. Chips were standard. Overall, the food could use a bit of uplifting, but the dining environment was quite nice, and the staff was friendly.

We got a recommendation for Cafe Du Parc at dinner on the previous night, so we mapped it out and made our way for breakfast and coffee on a weekday morning. Given the day and time, they were not busy, so we were sat very quickly. The restaurant is one large space, but divided into two distinct areas. The breakfast/cafe and then the bar/restaurant. Same spot, different vibes. We sat at a table in the cafe area which features a few standard tables, a lounge seating area and a coffee/pastry bar. We ordered a combination of breakfast items from scrambled eggs to sausage rolls and an iced mocha. The eggs were good, very soft and fluffy, but a bit under seasoned, but that honestly was a trend in Ireland. The sausage roll was the best part for me! It was flavored and the house made remoulade/salsa was great! The iced mocha was a bit odd with the heavy dusting of chocolate powder on top, which made it a bit cakey when mixed in. It was tasty, but not what I expected. Service was stellar from entry to exit. The hostess was also our server and she was fantastic! The space was well kept and very clean. Overall, this was a great parting meal for us as we left Killarney!
