No, this is more about the experience of eating at McDonald's when we were kids . . . Let me take you back to when their menu was basic . . . when Ronald McDonald was the coolest "Hamburger Clown" of all, the Hamburglar looked really weird but loved his burgers, Grimace was a shake-sipping purple . . . something, the goblins loved their fries, Big Mac was the law and Mayor McCheese governed benevolently over McDonaldland . . . when the McDonald's Coloring Calendars were a cool Christmas gift that had coupons that made it more likely we'd go there at least twice in any given month . . . a time before all the trendy burger places, when the competition was just a smaller franchise named Burger King, and this new one (with a salad bar that our mother's favored!) called Wendy's . . . It was fun to go to a simple restaurant and eat food that tasted fantastic to us, when our palettes were not as well developed . . . A day or night out with the family, or maybe just one of our parents, eating burgers and the best fries we've ever had, anywhere . . . I remember one such visit where I had ordered a chocolate shake, but when I tried to sip it through a straw it was impossible cause of the thickness! So I took the cover off and used the straw as a crude spoon, proclaiming "You don't drink it, you eat it!" to the bemusement of the older couple seated nearby! This place was ƙ but my issue was with the person at the drive thru. I advised the person that I wanted to purchase the toy in the happy meal. I know this can be done because I've done it b4. And I know because my sister did was going to do it today at a different location but since they didn't have the toy she wanted she didn't. Anyway, he said he can't do it so I said no problem I will purchase the meal, I purchased a cheeseburger meal when I got to the window I said I need to verify that the toy I'm getting is waverly. He says once you pay you can see which one it is, I said no tell me which one it is b4 I pay because I want a specific one. He says we don't know because it is in a box. I said the name and picture is on the box. He told me to pay again. I said ƙ if you would like I can just pay at the next window when I can see which one it is. He says it's 2 different windows for 2 different things. I said ƙ np sir you really not working with me and it's aggravating me. He said ƙ let me find out. So he goes & comes back and says the price of what I owe. So I said soooo is it Waverly? He says yes. I said ƙ. I give him the code from my McDonald's app. He takes foreverrrrrrrr. Then finally says .54¢ I say for what? He says for the Diet Coke. And if you're reading this and know me you know I wanted to go off on him but I didn't. I just paid the .54¢ knowing damn well that any other McDonald's I go to there's no upcharge for that because I order a sprite all the time & use my points. But I wanted it over with so I just gave him the money knowing it wasn't right. He purposely added that upcharge. My confusion is I don't know why you were so upset about me wanting to PURCHASE a toy. If I would've said can I have it I can see getting an attitude. Inconsistent quality, most likely due to young staff. Team members are not engaged with the app to alert app users that their food is ready. Every staff member I've encountered never has a smile on their face. As if they are unhappy working there, which in turn yields poor quality in food. The inside of the restaurant is nice. The Elmont McDonalds deserves 5 stars because I regularly use them for UBER Eats breakfast when I am working remotely. The order is always correct even when I ask for exceptions, such as no cheese on the Egg McMuffin. In addition, the food is consistently properly packaged. Hot coffee - no problem. It's wrapped and kept separate. Thank you! The McDonalds - Elmont meets the standard that most area restaurants can't handle, ie hot, quality breakfast food that is quick, reasonably priced and quite yummy. read more

Having locked my keys inside my house.. i ended up here with my boys for dinner... Okay... i was about to say scratch my previous review.. but it won't be fair to the early shift staff. Evening and latenight is.. soooooo messy... (the mess is moreso from the highschool crowd that comes in after school. Parents need to seriously start raising decent human beings) I can understand the stank look that you get from the person that has to clean up this mess.. i feel sorry for them... but after sitting in here for 5 minutes.. i can get why no one respects this space... the workers sets the tone.. so they kinda get what they give. The kiosk weren't in service today... i stood infront of register waiting to be acknowledged for a uncomfortable period of time The workers are very inappropriate with eachother physically and verbally, loud, abnoxious, disgusting profane language and just plain rude. What's worse is when their friends flock in and customers are left unattended. Where's the boss?? This shift will drive your location into the ground. If i hadn't already paid for my child's food and my coffee.. I'd just walk out and go elsewhere. Complete horror compared to daytime! I usually get the two cheese burger value meal each only travels about 20 feet till they hand it out the drive through window. So how does it get crushed so badly. Two incredibly small simple cheese burgers, buns crushed, ketchup all over the place and the cheese is mostly stuck to the paper. What the hell is wrong with these people? 9 times out of 10, the french fries will be served to you cold and flavorless. Recently, every morning after ordering, they ask you to drive to the second window. I wanted to do CONTACTLESS payment, and the woman at the window tells me that she has to take my phone. That's not contactless and I don't want anyone taking my phone. I asked for a milkshake, as usual the icecream/milkshake machine isn't working (it never is). I ordered just an Apple pie, wait for about 30 minutes in the drive through line and by the window. They charge me for the Apple pie, i pay with my card because i never have cash on me. they charge my card and come back and tell me they don't have any Apple pies. Seriously? You couldn't tell me that before i waited 30 minutes on the drive through line or at least before you charged me for it? THEN they short change me - they give me back $1.35 in cash even though they charged me $1.90 because they don't have enough change to pay me back.
