We placed an order online and went in for a pickup. Easy parking in the little strip mall, this place is rather spacious inside with enough seating. The first thing we noticed was how clean it was! Always a GREAT first sign! And we were immediately acknowledged upon entering - by two men behind the counter. They confirmed our order and asked us to wait just a few minutes as they were in the process of making our order. They were friendly, professional and courteous. That's right - not cranky, rude, snappy or anything! Sad that this is something we actually find surprising nowadays with the service industry but we have to clearly mention it as it is exceptional. The owner was a middle aged gentleman and he was just a lovely human. Both he and the employee were efficient, organized and well-mannered. We chatted a bit and they have been there since 1993! He thanked us warmly for our business and was just a pleasure to encounter! We do not live near this shop. But we will definitely be giving them our business moving forward. They offer freshly made subs with deli meats actually sliced on a slicer and not prepackaged like Subways! The veggies and toppings and bread in our subs were all fresh. Our orders were made accurately and just as we had customized. The woman who helped me during my last visit was incredibly sweet, and my order was prepared quickly. It's comfortable, not overly loud, and has a nice work-friendly vibe. I entered this beautiful store and found it tidy and neat. A beautiful red smash burger sign greets you upon entering. They had my attention, after all, I saw red! ( Just a little pun). Walking up to the counter I saw not workers in sight or on site, which ever you chose, so I stood there for 3 minutes. Someone finally came to the front and just started staring at me. No proper greeting, no welcome to Smash Burger, home of the good burger. (I'm acting a little wiftey). I begin to ask questions in order to make the best of my visit. I asked if they had turkey burgers and crinkled cut fries. She said no and no was just that, no means no, no suggestive selling, just flat out no. I am not ready to consume beef so I opted out. Improvements needed- when a customer enters the store, greet them and ask them how you can help them if they ask for something off of the menu, stir them to what's on the menu. It's obvious that they are unfamiliar with the menu, try to keep them in the store to make the sale by telling them what you do have; like, we have hotdog's, chicken sandwiches, sweet potato fries. Give them a reason not to leave and don't say no for the customer, let the customer make that "no" decision.
