Who am I, giving a rare 5 Stars to a franchised chain shop?! Haha. But this review is well deserved and I had to share. There aren't many Blimpie locations remaining and the many other typical fast-foodish, franchised eateries such as Subways, Pizza etc - never have any good reviews. But we decided to order a few subs today because we had an odd craving specifically for this type of a sub and this Blimpie was surprisingly well-rated on Yelp and Google. We placed an order online and went in for a pickup. Easy parking in the little strip mall, this place is rather spacious inside with enough seating. The first thing we noticed was how clean it was! Always a GREAT first sign! And we were immediately acknowledged upon entering - by two men behind the counter. They confirmed our order and asked us to wait just a few minutes as they were in the process of making our order. They were friendly, professional and courteous. That's right - not cranky, rude, snappy or anything! Sad that this is something we actually find surprising nowadays with the service industry but we have to clearly mention it as it is exceptional. The owner was a middle aged gentleman and he was just a lovely human. Both he and the employee were efficient, organized and well-mannered. We chatted a bit and they have been there since 1993! He thanked us warmly for our business and was just a pleasure to encounter! We do not live near this shop. But we will definitely be giving them our business moving forward. They offer freshly made subs with deli meats actually sliced on a slicer and not prepackaged like Subways! The veggies and toppings and bread in our subs were all fresh. Our orders were made accurately and just as we had customized. Judging from their cleanliness, attitude, service, and quality - you can tell that the owner really takes pride in his business and with that, he has ours! read more

Decades ago, I recall there being just as many Blimpie's as there were Subway's on Long Island. I always preferred Blimpie's and it was my go-to for a sandwich when a deli wasn't nearby. Then came Jarret and the $5 footlongs that made Subway a national craze... and Blimpie fell to the sidelines. However... even after trying Quizno's and Jersey Mike's... Blimpie continues to be my favorite. Why not 5 stars? The server on my most recent visit to this store was slow and did not understand the menu. I ordered a BLT and he proceeded to use ONIONS instead of lettuce! Then, when I pointed out the mistake, he took the bacon-contaminated onions off my sandwich and put it back in the tub for the next guests. The lady behind me noticed and made a fuss, as she should, since she does not consume pork. Hopefully they train their new staff better, and I won't let that one blemish stop me from coming to Blimpie's! read more

Blimpie will always be a childhood memory to me. My father loved coming to Blimpie's for the tuna sub and Blimpie Best. The softest bread, delightful oil and vinegar on every sub. I have never been a fan of Subway because Blimpie still reigns King to me. Their subs always test fresh. Today I ordered for lunch via Grubhub and my delivery was perfect. I had the tuna deli sub. Tomatoes, lettuce, banana peppers, oil and vinegar. All toppings were fresh and not wilted like Subway. I would definitely order a party platter from I can still remember those Blimpie commercials from the 90's as a kid. read more

Recently found out this location serves zabiha (hand-slaughtered) halal meat (not everything is halal, inquire within). Second time coming here, first was for a meatball sub (haven't had one in forever), this time classic turkey. The subs are great, they have ciabatta and wraps, too. I always drive an hour from Queens to this Blimpie as I love Blimpies one a month or so for their famous tuna with everything. Usually when the guy is there np n I enjoy my food. This day I go and a woman is there who I tell my order as she proceeds to make my sandwich I watch her squirter the Mayo in glops and not spread it out to which I comment. I tell her I want Mayo on both sides of my bread she sucks her teeth so now I'm perturbed by her poor customer service and tell her she should not be making sandwiches if she has a problem following simple instructions. By this time another woman comes to stand by saying nothing to her but looking at me. I wasn't impressed with my experience. Upon walking in I felt as if I interrupted the employee's conversation. I felt rushed by them to place my order. I hardly got a chance to look at the menu board. I placed an order and they're still rushing me through it. I did even ask to toast my sub. It slipped my mind and they didn't offer. Great chain sandwich joint. I like the fact they slice the meat as opposed to just having it pre sliced. The owners are nice and the best part is they deliver locally.
