We were staying just one day/night while in transit near JFK, and our place was sort of close to this restaurant. We came here for breakfast/lunch and had a great meal here! Nice small neighborhood restaurant. When we walked in we were quickly directed to a seat. They have counter space (ten seats) and about 8 booths/tables. The decor is underwhelming and the ambiance is chill. We got our food quickly and began to dig in. The avocado toast was great. It was my first time trying it but I was satisfied and satiated. Really cute breakfast/lunch cafe. Found it while looking for somewhere to grab a quick breakfast with a friend from out of town before taking him to the airport. So happy we chose here. Really good and friendly service. Place is cute with indoor and outdoor seating. Food was amazing! Prices were good/worth it as well. They don't have alcohol, just teas, sodas, and juices. I had the Huevos Rancheros which was sooo good! Very flavorful and everything was fresh! Added some cholula hot sauce and it became even more amazing. I love that they have a variety of hot sauce options versus most places just giving you Tabasco (yuck!). My friend had the steak and eggs which he said was great- I don't eat steak so I can't attest but it looked good. read more

The food was very good. The service was good as well on a busy Saturday afternoon. From the outside it looks like a small shop but on the inside the ambiance is cozy and comfortable. Came here for breakfast and I absolutely loved it! The staff was super friendly, the menu had a variety of options everything sounded so good! Not going to lie from the outside it doesn't look that nice but different once inside. There are booths and it's really just a cozy place to have coffee, breakfast or lunch. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and the portion was very generous and it was delicious. I ordered silver dollar pancakes for my 3 year old (soooo many) ... and my mom had an omelette. This place didn't look like much from the outside, but rated many stars on yelp, we were in the area and I was starving. To my surprise, the coffee was delicious (most diner type restaurants tend to serve crappy coffee), the servers were extremely friendly, and my eggs Benedict were delicious. My eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise was nice and lemony, and they gave me my hashbrowns extra crispy as I requested. Unfortunately, the hashbrowns were a little cold when we got our plate, I guess the hashbrowns were waiting on the eggs. However, my eggs were cooked properly, so I can't complain. Tried this place out based on Yelp reviews. Wife and I both had fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, and coffee. Eggs and bacon were fine. Hash browns were inedible, strange texture and off taste. Service was friendly, but not all that prompt. Place, especially restroom, is in need remodel. read more

I called the restaurant to place an order for pick up & was told to "hold on". I the drive to the restaurant after 25 minutes and was still on hold. The host/cashier hangs up the phone and tells me I should have hung up and called back. I placed an order for a healthy wrap along with 2 eggs over easy with avocado and mushrooms. She tells me 10-15 minutes. I leave and return in 15 minutes just to be told there still working on it to give them another 15 minutes. After all was said and done total time = 55 minutes a $29 tab for food that was definitely not worth the wait nor money. I will never return nor recommend. read more

We decided to order food for the office from this place. First time trying them since they took over from Debbie and Larry's and what a disappointment. Firstly, the young lady who took our order was very rude. Our burgers were horrible. The bread was stale and the patties over cooked. We also ordered sweet potato fries which were so soggy. I've come to this place a few times since they opened and it's great every time. I miss the guy I was seeing who died from covid and he came to my job and took me here on my lunch break for the first time so being here reminds me of him. I've come here twice with my friend cathi. They recently accommodated my recent choice to eat vegan and also make it gluten free with corn tortillas as well as satisfy my current obsession with tacos. A hidden gem. Stumbled across this in one of my sister's and I foodie adventures of Long Island , NY. First and foremost it was crowded and I know why; it's the great service (Ken and Chris) and the quality food. They however were quick to sit us and so pleasant and nice. The food is truly a culinary treat, even the Mexican hot chocolate was great. Try the hibiscus juice, it's a nice balance of sweet and tart. I had a great Benedict bowl and the portions were large, I got full on eating just half. I can't wait to come back for their Latin menu. (limited days) but looks fantastic. Really had hoped. Nothing was right although everyone was pleasant. First, the place is VERY run down, especially the bathroom with the door that doesn't close right. The unnecessarily loud disco (?!?!) music made ordinary conversation difficult as did various people hanging around at the next table. Menu was lacking in some standard items, like home fries. Service was sooo slow. The place was nearly empty but the food took very long, perhaps because they are much more focused on take-out. Little back story first... for my birthday my girlfriend booked a huge house in vermont for all my friends and family, a huge surprise to me. With that surprise everything was taking care of including food.... The food was from this place. Huge trays of catered heat and eat food. Everything was prepped perfectly and tasted bomb!!! The trays were very generous and just seasoned perfectly. Nothing was missed, sides, dressing, utensils, sauces I mean they truly crushed it for all of us. Fast forward a few weeks to Christmas..... I place an order from here for my aunt and her family who are basically quarantining til covid is over. Again Across Broadway cafe just kills it! Food was ready when needed, brought right to my truck contactless and prepared exactly as specified and again EVERYTHING INCLUDED!!!! Totally making everything seamless. The restaurant itself is small and outdated. Upon arrival, we were directed to the back near the restrooms. No one came to our table to give us menus. I had to walk to the front and ask for it. There were a lot of teenagers with their sports gear all over the floor. Once a table opened up in the front, we asked if we could move. After that, the service improved. The food was pretty good.
