Old original decor Diner that definitely needs updating, with that said the waitstaff is fantastic and the hamburgers are delicious. When you sit down they bring you complimentary macaroni salad, coleslaw, pickles, and a bread basket filled with a warm dinner rolls, breadsticks, and crackers. Pretty standard diner with all of the normal things. They make a good Burger and great wraps. The service is super prompt and friendly.

Probably been here 10 times for breakfast and aside from the bad attitude one waitress always seems to have (the dark skinned lady) the food has always been great ! I have tried a bunch of different breakfast options from the banana walnut pancakes (good but huge) to the corned beef hash and eggs (always add avocado and I like my eggs runny) The waffle is probably my go to. Its crunchy and soft inside every single time ! And I have been to numerous diners who will either burn my waffle or its just super soft . It's pretty cheap as well. Came here for breakfast and got a nice, big booth. Immediately given waters. The menu had a decent selection, and we started with a fruit bowl which was pretty big and had a nice fruit variety. I also got a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and it came packed with those ingredients. It was a super filling breakfast sandwich. The coffee was good, and there was great service getting refills and not too long to wait for the food. Overall, no complaints. Great place for breakfast. read more

Sherwood Diner has the feel and menu you expect with a classic diner, but I've had much better food and service at other diners. The first time I went, I ordered the French toast (kind of a diner staple). It barely had any flavor to it, and honestly looked like a few pieces of very slightly cooked toast with some syrup haphazardly thrown on a plate. The second time, I got an omelette, which again was pretty underwhelming. The third time, I got French onion soup and a pizza bagel. Being in New York which is known for both pizza and bagels, I expected it to be pretty good. It seemed like something I could've thrown together in a microwave at home. Our waitress this trip was also pretty rude. She acted like I was dumb when I asked a question. When my mother-in-law's order came out incorrectly, she said that we ordered incorrectly and it wasn't her fault. My mother-in-law ended up just eating the wrong order to avoid a scene. I almost gave two stars, but gave the benefit of the doubt with 3 because my family does like this place. Overall, I'm not expecting anything gourmet, but I think the quality and cozy feel you expect from a diner could be better. read more

My boyfriend took me out for a late breakfast here after previously having a bad experience. (They told him the turkey was fresh when it was clearly not. The waitress asked if he wanted to see it in the kitchen, so they walk to the kitchen door. There he heard the cook laughed, and she then came back refused to show him.) He decided to give them another try. There was a woman standing at the hostess stand waiting to be helped. We came in and stood behind her. They told us to seat ourselves, which I found odd because they completely ignored the woman in front of us. She was annoyed by this and I don't blame her. I got an egg sandwich on a roll which was clearly not fresh. It was so dry and stale. The rest of my food was mediocre. My cup of tea smelled like old fryer oil or Like fried seafood. I've been coming to this dinner since I was a kid, so 50+ years. It got an extra star because now that I live in Florida I really do miss a good diner. It just doesn't exist there. Service was pleasant and attentive. We came in for breakfast and the omelet is huge. It's basic breakfast fare Erich in all honesty no one should screw up. Food came out hot and was good. I was even asked if I wanted my toast buttered. I don't know the last time I didn't have to butter my own bread. It's the little things that make me happy. I wish I could have had some good old French fries with brown gravy because that was my usual late night fare when I was in my late teens. Maybe next time I'm in town. read more

I recommended this diner to my friend , so we visited last week Tuesday to have a midday snack she ordered a turkey wrap, when the order arrived, the smell of the turkey meat was aweful, it was very rank she could not eat it . I ordered the Pita bread grill sandwich which tasted excellent . I still love the place but I'm a bit dissappointed with the turkey wrap and my friend's first visit was not impressive . *AVOID THIS PLACE* Went to the Sherwood Diner for the first time on Sunday morning for the first time in many years, do yourself a favor and don't bother! Decided to stop for breakfast on a whim and wish I went to the local bagel store instead. The service is grossly inadequate and the bucktooth waitress standing at the counter barking orders into the kitchen and wearing a mask half in her face, what's the point of that? I sat at the counter, there was no dedicated waiter / server and waited a long time for a menu. Ordered an iced coffee and waited another five minutes for it to come, as the same bucktooth waitress ordered another waiter to get it for me. My food was overcooked and terrible. (Eggs Benedict). I thought this was an unusual place to keep someone's order because anyone could just get up and walk away with the food. Most of the time orders are kept near the register. Used to be great. Not anymore. Ordered a Reuben recently for takeout. I know I should've checked the bag. No dressing, leathery corned beef and VERY under cooked fries. From a DINER. They did however include plenty of packets of a cheap, terrible unknown brand of Ketchup. When a diner won't spend the extra money for Heinz you know they are skimping in other areas. Really good diner spot for lunch! I had their chicken salad wrap (pictured) and it was very fresh (I personally enjoy a lot of mayo, so if you do too, I would ask the server to add mayo to it). Their fries are tasty - they were crunchy and fresh as well (best fries I've ever had at a diner). The chicken panini on the lunch menu was also very delicious! Their lunch menu is a steal - you get an entree, drink and dessert for one price! As soon as we were seated, the waiter brought out pickles, their homemade coleslaw and homemade macaroni as appetizer style side dishes and they were all very tasty. The coleslaw was tangy but different. The pickles were crunchy and fresh. The macaroni wasn't my favorite but it complimented the coleslaw. We asked for the AC to be turned up but don't think the manager met our request. The bathroom was in poor condition. A waitress used the stall next to me. The soap dispenser was not working. Ordered Belgian waffles with strawberries and the strawberries had mole with a dead fruit fly on it. At first I thought it was part of the strawberry but I zoomed in with my phone camera and it was a freaking bug. I was very upset and disgusted since I ate a few already without realizing. I told the waiter who didn't care but asked if I wanted another one like it was no big deal and kept trying to take the plate away with the molded strawberries claiming he was going to show the manager. I yelled at him and demanded he leave the plate with the molded strawberry on the table and have the manager come to the table to see it. The manager came and didn't have anything to say.
