I went to a Five Guys for the first time when I was in MA recently, and was impressed with my burger. Of course, this set off a craving when I got back to NY, so I went to the Five Guys in Garden City Park. Prices were slightly higher but the burger was just as good. Kudos to Five Guys for consistency! ** Don't forget to get your free peanuts! (Self serve). One of the perks of going to Five Guys! I really appreciated that all burgers are made to order, so you're guaranteed a fresh burger. Also, you can get all the toppings you like without an upcharge. The burgers are pricey enough without having to pay extra for toppings! The first time, I got my burger "all the way" with all the trimmings... believe it or not, this may have been too many trimmings?!?! It was a hot mess to eat, and I ended up taking some of the trimmings out. For me, simpler is better. The 2nd time I went, I ordered just 3 trimmings and I really enjoyed my burger so much more. Sometimes, less is more! I must add that their fresh cut fries are fantastic....don't skip the fries! Customer service was friendly, accommodating and fast! Terribly run restaurant. They have absolutely no consideration for people who place orders on third party apps (such as UberEats). You can place an order way in advance, and they won't even BEGIN preparing the order until after you arrive, which obviously defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. The manager at this location has to understand that the employees must start preparing mobile orders upon RECEIVING the order in their system, so that the order is ready when it's supposed to be. Intentionally wasting people's time should be seen as an issue worth fixing. read more

Nice people, but disappointing fries. I've had 5 guys fries that were crisp blisters on the outside, practically liquid on the inside. The recipe is ice water soak when sliced, dry them, fry until almost done, cool to room temperature, finish frying. That gives you incredible fries. Craving a good burger, there are so many options these days. I dropped into a local Five Guys. Ambience: The Interior designer went to the same school as the White Castle designer. The choice of colors and material remind you of a restroom, albeit a clean one. Food: the burgers are well done, but still juicy. There is not as much fat in the meat as Shake Shack, resulting in a slightly drier (but still juicy) burger. There is a large list of free toppings to customize your burger. HINT: you can ask for extra bacon, no charge. The fries are fresh and thick cut. Really tasty, especially with the Cajun seasoning. TL/DR: one of the top burger chains around, allowing you to customize your burger with over a dozen different toppings. Don't forget the free peanuts. read more

First timer! We did a take out order for three people. The difference between the Little Cheeseburger and the Cheeseburger is that the little has 1 patty and the regular has 2 patties. The regular fries is huge and they just keep filling the bag it seems like! Lol. We had 2 Cheeseburgers, 1 Little Cheeseburger, 3 regular fries and 1 grilled cheese. Let's give credit where credit is due. After a long back and forth with the kids trying to choose lunch, we decided on Five Guys. It had been a long time since we've had it. Thinking about it, it was like the earliest fast casual that elevated the hamburger. Way before shake shack or smashurger or bareburger or whatever. Note that if you have anything resembling peanut allergies, you should stay away as there are literally peanuts everywhere. Freshly roasted, unshelled peanuts in cartons, are available with little paper boats for munching on as you're waiting. Their fries are fried in peanut oil. So the rundown. Their burgers come in regular and junior size. The difference is essentially an extra patty. The beef is fresh and tastes like it was homemade. Another plus - all their toppings are basic but free eg grilled onions, 'shrooms, etc. The fries were a little soggier than I remember but they make up for it completely with taste and quantity. Lastly, they have those fancy Coke dispensers that offers a gazillion different combination options. The place is super clean and the workers all seem like there enjoying themselves. We decided to head to Five Guys (I haven't had it in over a year!) for our post-workout meal because we were both craving burgers & fries and coincidentally, there was one located in a convenient shopping center about 10 blocks away from our gym. There is plenty of parking available but there are some in progress construction with the signage of all the stores including Five Guys. There was only 2 other customers in the store when we arrived at 7:30 pm on a Sunday. Service was quick and professional, which is the expectations at every Five Guys we have been to. We ordered a double cheeseburger, 2 little cheeseburgers, both the Five Guys style and Cajun style fries (I couldn't decide and I love their fries!). Our order was ready within 10 minutes as promised. Holy fries! The portion on the "little" size fries were almost triple the size that we thought we were going to get. We couldn't finish all the fries but everything tasted great with good seasoning except next time, I'm going to get it without lettuce & tomatoes (all toppings are free!). Many moons ago, my friend came to me recanting a tale. A tale of a two-patty burger he had sampled. This tale was filled with fresh cut fries from some part of Idaho, served either regular or Cajun style. And they do what? Throw extra fries in the bag? Flash forward to today and any carnivore can easily decipher that we're talking about Five Guys. Back then there was one location I knew of and we'd drive 30 minutes to get to it. Today (or last Saturday), I can hop in my car and be at FGs before I can list all the free toppings. This location is just like any other. A simple white-tiled, red-checkered wall design with plenty of peanuts available to munch on (sorry to those allergic). But that simplicity is what makes this chain so pure. It's not about an elaborate menu, burger specials, exciting decor, or any other aspect. It's about tasty burgers and fries, and that's what you get at this spot. I usually order a cheeseburger which is two patties right off the bat. Looking to live a bit longer? Consider a little (one patty). Here's where some burger aficionados bail because FGs burgers are cooked one way, all the way. No medium, red meat here. But despite this, the meat is still packed with flavor (albeit a little greasy). Have a ball with those toppings (grilled onions!) and enjoy a perfectly-sized, delicious burger. The fries are then a must. Regular style is great, but a little zing from the Cajun style does wonders. For amount, the little size is perfect for individual consumption (though with the thrown in bag fries you'll probably still have extras). It's totally all about the beef and potato, but Five Guys isn't blind in knowing about that ever growing chain with a shake in its name. From this, FGs has more recently added milkshakes as an option with your choice of mix-in, including bacon. Yes, bacon. You won't ever find this joint on a health food list. Looking for gripes? I will say my order is occasionally mixed up in that there's an added or missing topping. For the most part, they're hitting it out of the burger ballpark. Same goes for price which has slowly increased, but you're still getting great quality for your dollar. Overall, Five Guys does things their way, and it works. It really, truly works. I've never been to a Five Guys that I didn't like, and this location is no exception. The burgers, fries and shakes are the same tasty dishes you know and expect, and the staff here always works very quickly and efficiently. In these times, it's good to know if a restaurant is following safety protocols, and they always follow mask and distancing protocols here. One minor complaint, there is always music playing a little too loudly, and the speaker is right above the cash register, so with the plexiglass barrier and speaking through a mask, it's a little hard to order. But once you get your food, it's the consistent awesome food you expect from every Five Guys. read more

I like Five Guys - "All the way" for me please! Five Guys keeps there menu relatively simple - they don't try to make a bunch of different items, but instead they focus on putting out damn tasty burgers, hot dogs (I've never tried) and hand cut fries. I usually go for a "little" burger (one patty) because its not the meat patty that shines here (you can only get it well done - which, is probably my only knock against Five Guys), but its truly the sum of the parts. It is how all the toppings come together and form a very satisfying burger experience. "All the way" is the way, which means mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, and mustard are all the toppings for your burger. All that with a perfectly soft bun makes for a delicious combo! Don't get me wrong - I love the crispy brown coating on the burger which still remains juicy, but to be able to get them medium or medium rare would just completely seal the deal for me. The regular fries are more than enough to share with 2 people. I like the "Coke-a-nator" machine that spews out any combination of Coca-cola products - free refills! A win for sure! I usually like eating at FG and this was my first time coming to this location. When I was placing my order, there was an obvious language barrier that was making things difficult. I'm fluent in Spanish, so I was trying to speak to the cashier in Spanish but she insisted on speaking English. She also couldn't figure out how to take my order because I was asking for raw onions but she kept putting grilled onions on the screen. Then she called for another woman to help her who began to get argumentative with me about the onion mixup. When I pointed to the screen and showed her it said grilled onions, she then took them off my burger. Afterwards, when I got my order, the table was dirty, so I asked for someone to please wipe down the table. The woman behind the counter said she would do it but never came. When I went back to the counter, she ignored me as I was trying to get her attention. Finally a woman who I assumed was the manager noticed me and asked if I needed something and I told her that the table was dirty and she told the same woman that was ignoring me to wipe the table (in Spanish) and she immediately did it. When she was wiping the table down, she had an attitude and when I thanked her for wiping it down, she walked away without saying anything. I won't be coming to this location again. read more

Asked if it was my first time here and gave me a "courtesy cup" for a drink. He offered all there was to offer and answered my questions about the menu without hesitation. Five Guys has always been a fan favorite. We have been going to this location for over a decade! Because I cannot eat beef, I always order the same thing, a Kosher style hot dog, fries, and a drink (pictured is a regular sized drink and a large fry). As good as there food is, and don't get me wrong, it is good, their prices are astronomical. For 3 people, the price was 45$ and we even shared a large fry. Other than price,there are a lot of pros about his restaurant, especially during covid. They include, inside dining that is spaced out, cleanliness and no peanut shells on the floor. Also. The condiments, napkins, lids, and peanuts are requested at the counter. They surely do regulate their business and I am glad I had the opportunity to visit again! read more

Love this place! Five Guys has to be my favorite burger. The quality is always top-notch, the flavor is delicious, and the price is just right. With so many burger places to choose from, I find you really can't go wrong with a Five Guys burger. It's the "old faithful" of burger joints. Having formerly lived in New Hyde Park (now on the South Shore), I frequented this Five Guys location often whether hanging out with friends, returning from the gym, or simply looking for a quick place to grab something good to eat. The staff here is always terrific and the place is always kept clean. There's also a fair amount of tables here, so even when it's crowded you're usually guaranteed a seat. The Five Guys model is build-your-own style and the menu is smartly simple. You start with either a single or double patty ("little burger" is actually 1 patty while a standard "burger" is two) with or without cheese (there are a few other options, too). You then decide on your toppings (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, jalapeños, mushrooms, relish, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, hot sauce, or A1 sauce). Either combination you choose, you're guaranteed a great meal. I definitely recommend getting the fries. A "little fries" is more than enough for a party of one. No matter which size you get, they overstuff the bag with them. They also offer two different varieties - plain or cajun. Both are great! This location also offers an abundance of soda selections. Personally, I prefer to top my meal with a shake (I just try not to count the calories). The shakes here are delicious! Much like the burgers, the shakes are build-your-own style. Mix-in's include chocolate, peanut butter, coffee, salted caramel, strawberries and even [wait for it] bacon! I personally haven't tried the bacon option but I'm sure bacon lovers can't go wrong! Showed up around 5PM on a Sunday to locked doors and 3 people in the kitchen moving around. No signs indicating that they're closed, hours posted on the door say open til 11. Looking it up online it says they should be closed at 7pm. The burgers are simple but done right, you have the option of adding the toppings of your choices depending on what you prefer. They are consistent every single time. Big fan of Five Guys, easily my favorite burgers out of all burger chains. The beef patties are always juicy and thick and meaty which I absolutely love. The fries are also perfection. My favorite are the cajun fries which are amazing and I appreciate the portions. I love the free peanuts and I love that they have the Coke freestyle machines. My only problem with Five Guys is they have pumped up the prices to the point where it is not very affordable as a quick lunch, which I am not happy about. Just be aware that they carry peanuts in huge bags in the store for people to scoop out and eat while they eat there. Terrible location with terrible management. I don't know how it's even possible, but I've ordered from here at least 4 times and at least 3 of those times they have messed up my pick up orders. Either they would leave out half the order and they didn't include the items I paid additional for. I've contacted the manager before and it's incredibly difficult getting hold of someone or even just a refund. The final food destination of my trip in NY actually ended here at 5 guys in the airport. I ordered a single with jalepenos. You know I like it spicyyy! And I got a medium fry. The burger was pretty good. Definitely a step up from McDonald's or BK. The ingredients tasted fresh and the meat tasted like meat. i.e. My mind knew that the meat came from a cow rather than another animal.... My favorite part was that they overload your bag with fries! My burger was on the bottom of a bag full of fries...which was GREAT! Kinda hard to get the burger out but I just ate my way to the bottom. I wonder what a large fry would've been?
