The employee was friendly, however I ordered the $5 meal deal with 2 sliders, small fry and small drink. The employee behind the counter was quick to say "medium drink?" I've said this before, Yelp needs to allow us to NOT give 1 star for really bad businesses This is the worst White Castle restaurant, don't come to this one. We ordered the 30 case of burgers with 15 burgers with cheddar cheese and 15 with smoked cheese, 1 large sack of fries and a 10 piece order of mozzarella sticks. What we received was 30 cheese burgers (15 in orange box and 15 in the blue box but they were all cheddar cheese.....no smoked cheese We tried to pay with Apple pay and the manager said the machine was broke. Then we tried to pay with a mastercard, again the machine is broke ....according to the jerk manager. He said we had to pay cash.....thats not gonna happen buddy. I told him to figure it out because there weren't any signs posted saying the debit or credit machines were broke nor were there any signs saying cash only. He ran my debit card as a credit card, I doubt they will receive the money now.....I told him this. In lynbrook, they refuse to cook the sliders without the onions on the grill, they said they can't scrap the onions off of the grill. It really is about "The Crave." I love White Castle, who doesn't (wait, don't answer that.) Over my years I have found that you either LOVE the Castle or can't get far enough away. There is nothing better than a WC slider on your way home from a party where the food was only mediocre, to fill that hunger void. That little strip of beef with the holes, cooked onions and pickles are the best. My other favorites include their French fries, a double cheese burger and the clam strips. There is really nothing on the menu that is just no good. The must have one heck of a market survey team before they add an item... Once it goes up on the board it seems to stay there forever. I do miss the car delivery when they would come out and put the tray on your window and load it up it all the goodies, usually 25 burgers, a couple of sacks of fries and a large coke (Harold and Kumar did it best). The Melville location is very clean, bright and convenient.. I always wonder if they ever have fill all the tables and chairs up at the same time. I also liked the Lynbrook location, which has been in the same spot forever. They built the new WC building in the parking lot and were able to keep the old building open.. I was pretty embarrassed because there were some pretty unhappy customers. The line literally was out of the door. The old store had two doors that lead in from the parking lot (no side entrance.) There are still many tables to dine in, restrooms are kind of in the way of when the line forms. The new open format of the kitchen I just couldnt swallow. Super convenient being open 24/7. Pretty good location being right by a bus and LIRR stop. It's a bit dangerous to get to for a pedestrian. Their people at the counter are super nice. I've been coming here for 20 years. My mom and I used to come here on a certain day when kids could eat free, so this place holds some pretty great memories. I'm glad it's still around. I love to get the fish slider, clam strips, bacon covered cheese fries, apple pie, and fish nibblers. Their classic cheese sliders are super affordable at about a dollar each. The last time I went, you could order through the app and even get 10% off with a special code! This location is great. The one downside is that the back door near the bathrooms are now closed, so when there's rain or snow, you'd have to walk all the way around just to get inside. This WC in particular is actually one of the best ones I've seen. It's clean and the staff here are very nice. I think all the other Yelpers that visited here can testify to that. If you come here way after hours past midnight, you'll come across a bunch of part goers and maybe drunks. Especially on a Friday or Saturday night. It's pretty easy to get to on Sunrise Highway. It even has relatively quick service.
