Oh god, why does 6 am have to be so early! My eyeballs are aching after a long drive from San Francisco and not nearly enough sleep the night before. This McDonald's is across the street from the cheap hotel we were staying at. I went through the drive through and was happy to get a cup of coffee and a chicken biscuit to make the drive to South Lake for our day of fishing bearable and prevent me from driving in to a ditch. The coffee was decent actually and did the job. The biscuit was dry but otherwise a good representation of McDonald;s style food. Horrible service and super inconsiderate. Manager Chelsea is horribly rude and told us she wouldn't have something made that's on the menu because she didn't want to make it. Then on top of that she was complaining about all the people at the drive thru saying don't these people have a family to be home with tonight? Why are they here? Yeah it is Thanksgiving and yeah some of us just want an extra bite to eat after our lunch with our family. Stopped here on our way home. Don't even bother. There was only one other car in the drive-thru. Yet we sat at the ordering screen for at least 5 minutes with NO acknowledgement at all. We pulled up to the first window to find that there was nobody there either. So we pulled to the 2nd window where the rudest and snottiest girl was there. She was completely rude. Had a grimace on her face the entire time, like we were bothering her. God forbid she has to do her job. Tell you what chicky.... If you don't like customer service, find another job. You know-I'd really like to review this McDonalds. I really really would. Except the only time I get a craving for McDonalds is usually 10-11pm at night and I have been here not just once-not just twice-but THREE times now when they have closed 30 minutes (or more) early. I'm not talking 3-10 minutes or so to hose off the stragglers (who actually aren't stragglers. If you want to close at 11:04 pm then just have your posted and advertised hours correlate that. I'm not 100% unsympathetic. When I was a kid for FOUR YEARS I worked at Arby's. Did I ever break the shake machine down a few minutes early to my customer who showed up at 11:56's dismay? You bet your ass I did. But I wasn't frequent and if I was called out on it and specifically asked nicely to please turn it back on and serve them until close-I obliged. This McDonald's is probably nicer than most in the Bay Area, especially after the recent renovation. It's large and clean, and the bathrooms are pretty big/nice by fast food chain standards. Perfect for cleaning up after a day at the crag and a quick meal before hitting the road. I tried a tripe thick chocolate shake last time. It was pretty good, just don't research too much into the nutrition facts (on the back of the tray liners), or you might regret all the stuff you just ate. ;P read more

The owners need to step up their game and actually go in and see what's going on. The employees are rude as heck and the orders are usually wrong. Someone needs to be down there watching how their customers are treated. The service is slow. Some employees just stand around doing nothing when there is a line of customers. The employees were very nice, but the wait was very long. We waited more than 15 minutes with just two cars in front of us. We were just getting a cone and drink. They gave them to us at the pay window, but we were trapped between cars. So we had to have our cones with the cashier standing there staring at us. read more

im a local here, its small town, they either get slammed, or slow. NEVER rely on the closing hours, NEVER rely on the quality of service or food. before i lived here i skipped the ones in lone pine cause bishop said they'd be open, let me down as a tourist, as a local same thing, i live 20 miles out of bishop, the last 3 times i went 30+ minutes before closing hours they are closed and long gone, not a person in the place. it takes 1.5+ hours to close the kitchen, or should anyways. NOT RELIABLE, drive through attendants wear hoodies and use there phones. Our trip here started out great as we ordered 1 vanilla shake and 1 chocolate shake and the total with dumb California tax came out to be $6.03. Unfortunately we only had 6 dollars in the car but the guy at the first window gave us the extra three cents which was very nice of him. Then we went on an emotional roller coaster as the lady at the next window gave us a chocolate and strawberry shake. When we said we ordered a vanilla and not a strawberry she got kinda pissy with us but also let us keep the strawberry one which would have gone to waste otherwise. As we searched out a homeless person to give the extra shake to I tasted my "vanilla shake" and it is most definitely egg nog flavor. Not sure if they haven't switched it over since the holidays or what but I would have preferred vanilla. All in all quite the interesting experience at McDonalds which isn't always a good thing. read more

I was pretty much raised here during the summers due to their awesome Play Place and generally clean astroturf. Unfortunately, this location didn't provide the usual prompt and accurate orders we are used to receiving. There were multiple workers....maybe in training? They placed the order incorrectly and we didn't realize our order was wrong until we were on our way on a long drive home! (A problem due to dietary restrictions) But the Mc Donald's in Lone Pine corrected it, with a smile, and quickly! We'll go there in the future! read more
