    The bathroom

I went to the bathroom and 5 minutes later a girl and a guy hit my door in an aggressive way, so aggressive that I had to go out and say I was using the bathroom, they seemed drunk or high, I spoke to the manager and he said he couldn't do anything about it, but he gave me a coffee and an ice cream, it was a horrible experience because I was a tourist, apart from that the bathrooms are disgusting, it had good reviews of Banff but I don't recommend this place, by the way, there is only one bathroom

Poutine and new peach mango drink!

Just for the poutine. Otherwise, regular mcdonalds ambiance and service -- nothing special. We wanted to try their poutine- loved the flavor of the gravy and i'm happy they use squeaky cheese. Tried their new drink - mango peach - really tasty on a hot afternoon! If you're not into sweet things- maybe ask for less syrup!

Chicken nuggets, large fries, and burger

We needed a meal after a night hike around 9:30pm on a Friday evening and 20 chicken nuggets, a large fries, and a burger between two people helped. You can order at the counter or using the kiosk and have the option to pick up or have the food brought to you. Seating was a bit limited since there was an area that was closed off, but we were able to get a booth once we got our order. Single occupant gender neutral restroom available. Credit cards accepted. I noticed a sign that advertised coffee with a cop on Wednesdays so that was cute.

Had to stop to try their poutine - service was quick and easy with self-serve kiosks. The poutine was surprisingly really good - McDonald's fries are always delicious and I liked the flavor of the gravy and there was a ton of cheese curds in the poutine. Definitely stop by if you're craving for a poutine without wanting to pay restaurant prices.

Lots of Canada exclusives, which is really cool. Food took a long time to come out, but that means it's fresh right? The poutine here was just okay, I probably won't get it again. Double Big Mac was cool and the wraps are delicious.

It was a nice Mc Donalds inside Banff. Very clean and staffs were helpful. It has regular menu that U.S has, also some Canadian special like poutine.

    Chocolate Waffle Ice Cream Cones.

Even though I have been to McDonald's before in Canada, a new item had caught my eye: chocolate waffle ice cream cone ($2 CAD). If you know anything about me, I am a huge fan of McDonald's ice cream and an even bigger fan of all waffle cones, so I couldn't help myself when I saw this specialty item. This was the perfect dessert! The thing about McDonald's is that you know what you're getting at any location. In addition, it's a cheap option when you're stuck in a small town surrounded by mountains and trees. Plus, all McDonald's has free wifi which is great for tourists getting around. Note that there are a lot more seating in the back of the restaurant.

Super busy! There are outdoor tables and inside seating. Good thing as at mealtimes they must use all available table space. Just dropped in for a coffee and proceeding to check out the shops before my hike to Cory Pass. The McDonald's is surprisingly clean but the front door has a sign that says they are experiencing staff shortages and to expect delays. Unfortunately, the thought of paying a living wage is not possible in Banff or is it? The restaurant was clean and all the Kiosks were in use. Staff have no time to engage with customers which is unfortunate. I wonder how long they will be able to hold onto their existing staff. I

    Washroom in the basement!
    Kristin K.

Thank goodness for this McDonald's because Clock Tower Village Mall just down the block doesn't have a public washroom. So yay washroom! Boo that it's down what felt like a million stairs. Typical McDonalds' that THANKFULLY has normal McDonald's prices. So that means they had $1 coffees when I was here just before Christmas. In Banff, anything for a $1 is miraculous so this McD's gets 4 stars for that alone. It was JAM packed inside - probably busy just based on the frugality of it alone. I'm sure when I'm back in Banff with littles in tow we will be frequenting here :-)

I was in town for the Banff Marathon. I ate here a couple of times to save some money. One of the things that I love about McDonald's is that they'll have special regional items. For this region, they had fish and chips. I ordered that for my first visit. On a return visit after the marathon, I ordered the Mighty Angus Burger meal. Both times I ordered using one of their ordering kiosks. It was very convenient as it allowed me to bypass the line. Although it was busy both times, I didn't have to wait too long for me food to come out and I was always able to find a spot to eat my food. The fish and chips weren't very good, but I thought the burger was better than what was available back in the States.

    Front Entrance Interior

McDonald's is always decent for a quick meal with friends. I always come back because it is usually reliable in terms of menu options and familiarity -- useful when travelling around the country. We decided to choose this location to eat our breakfast in. Overall, I would recommend it. This particular location was very nice in terms of design. The front entrance is very appealing, matching the touristy and historic area of Banff while maintaining the McDonald's branding. The interior was a bit dirty but overall, it was quite nice with convenient self-serve terminals on the side. Very efficiently made and on-par in terms of quality. Definitely average but I'll give them credit for not messing any of our orders up. I mean, I don't expect much. They did very good. I felt the service could have been more welcoming and approachable. There was no attempt to greet customers which was very disappointing and something I look for when visiting any store. No complaints, however, it was very efficient.

    Double Big Mac

I have this thing about trying McDonald's in every country I go to see what's on their international menu! Have you ever seen a double Big Mac (4 patties!!) and poutine fries at your local California McDonalds?! We just had to try it! They also had a tomato mozzarella chicken sandwich that we tried too. There are multiple digital screens where you place your order and pick up food when your number is called. If you're not comfortable ordering this way you can still go up to the counter and order in person. The food tastes like your average McDonald's. The poutine fries were A-OK with their gravy and cheese curds on top. The chicken sandwich has a tangy sauce in it, kind of like a Big Mac sauce with a zing. We also ordered a Skor McFlurry and Caramel Blonde brownie McFlurry for the ride home. A nice sweet treat for the warm day!

By far, this is the cleanest, most modern and efficient McDonald's we've ever seen. We were heading out for a long road trip and decided to get breakfast. Their Egg McMuffins actually look like the nice photos you see in advertisements. The staff behind the counter was full of smiles and got our order right away. When we looked at the contents in the bag, it was nice to see that we actually got what we ordered. Very clean, nice and safe for very early morning breadfast. Highly recommended!

This McDonald's has a huge seating area ( in the back, pass the pop machine). Fast cheap as always. Pretty good for budget traveller.

I got me an Iced Latte and a Salted Caramel Gelato to walk around town with. The food is prepared daily at their sister establishment, Wild Flour Bakery. The coffee beans are sourced from South America and the gelato comes from Vancouver. It is a nice shop that has both indoor and outdoor seating. I love their fig cookies. They are always fresh and delicious. The menu is on a higher price end now, but quality is still good to try sometimes. However service is not good at this location. Girls were rude and not willing to help in friendly manner. Plus our cappuccino was almost cold. The cost is already higher end and if you don't tip 20% or more the girls make faces and don't even respond after that. Not many seats to sit so it's a take away mostly so 20% and above tip doesn't justify specially with that kind of bad service. Will I be there again? Yes just for the fig cookies. Will get coffee somewhere else.

Maybe it was the drink I ordered or the location but sadly the coffee was subpar.

The cafe in the main building seemed to have the machine cocoa and I was looking for the good stuff. The real stuff. Milk and bittersweet chocolate warmed together to create an elixer fit for the gods. SO--I made my way over to the Java Lift to investigate their options and was treated to the most lovely hot cocoa, complete with marshmallows and whipped cream, that my little heart could desire. It was delightful. Everything I wanted and more! I was also a little peckish and the crepes they also offered sounded perfect so I went with the black forest ham and gruyere crepe. A little salty to compliment my sweet cocoa. It was served up in a jiffy and the cheese was perfectly melty, the ham was nice and salty, and the crepe shell was prepared perfectly. Nice and thin and holding the whole thing deliciously together. I actually was so jazzed about it I forgot to take a picture, but it was good! They also have a few sweet crepe options and a couple other savory choices as well. If it's coffee you want, they also have that here (hence the "java" part of its name). It's pretty much a Starbucks counter, without the Starbucks name, but they have all the seasonal drinks they offer in Starbucks stores and they use their beans as well. Service is pleasant as pleasant can be. I chatted with the barista for a while and she was just so friendly. It's a little on the small side, seating wise, although there seems to be a decent turnover and I had no trouble getting a window seat to enjoy the incredible views outside. Would definitely while away some time here in the future should I return.

They looked fantastic and seemed quite popular. Once I saw the crepes, I do admit I had a bit of crepe envy. The line up area has a bad flow but people don't seem to get too competitive which is good. In the main lodge I think a similar line flow would lead to coffee shop brawls. Service is also friendly. Ski Patrol seemed to like to come here on breaks so that says something too. This place probably wouldnt do as well in the real world but when you are stuck on a mountain with throngs of other skiers, it is a bit of a gem.
