The most important thing is that the wings are absolutely delicious and both of the sauces I tried were awesome (Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets). The chicken has a perfect outer crunch when biting into it, but is still very juicy inside. It also didn't taste old or reheated, definitely seems to have come right off the frier and tossed in the sauce. The big issue that kept me from going back again was the service. They seemed in a rush to take my order when I got in and then made me wait over 30 minutes for takeout. This should be quick food to grab on the way home from one of the parks. While I was there, another person (who had waited over an hour, gave up and left). I asked the other people waiting there and all had been there upwards of 20 minutes. This place seems like it's geared towards quick takeout, since there's not a ton of seating inside... but the takeout is so slow that it makes it a little confusing as to what they're trying to be. read more

Solid wing spot. The wings are crispy and fried fresh. There's a ton of flavour options to choose from; some better than others. We tried the Banff and Lake Louise because they were local specialties and they were both good, but not stand outs. (You couldn't really taste the pineapple puree in the butter chicken sauce.) Ordered via app. Quoted me 25min. Wings were not ready for 35min. Was a 4 person line by the time we left - ?really good vs. not very efficient with making orders. Boyfriend got the Doritos chicken burger and liked it. Also got the Cajun fries - super fresh and decent flavoring. I got 2lbs of wings so that I could try 2 flavors. I tried Shack Butter Chicken with pineapple sauce and Shack Garlic sauce. Unfortunately it took us 20minutes until we ate so wings were very soggy by then - IF you buy eat ASAP! About 8winfs per lb and they are meaty! Butter Chicken - was okay flavor. Garlic - was more like a vegetable seasoning. Not very garlicy. WORST experience ever! At first the man working the counter greeted us very well. My brothers went to sit at a table all the way in the back. Then they got told that they cannot sit there and had to move. They moved to the table beside it. We were waiting 30 + minutes for our food to STILL COME. We watched plates being set up, and bowls being placed on the table my brothers were told not to sit at. Food was being served at that table, just for the workers to eat there. 40+ minutes passed by and my brother just got his fries. Then everything else started to come slowly one by one. A table beside us was looking for one of the workers and no one was present. He said to me "it is slow in here" I said "very much so." Everyone's food was coming to them except mine. A good hour passed by and then I got my food. It was just a chicken wrap and fries I ordered. The same table beside us asked for a food cap and didn't get it. He had asked 3 times and still didn't get it. After finally waiting a long amount of minutes he got what he was asking for. I do not understand how this restaurant has a 4 star rating as this was the worst experience of my life!! I STRONGLY recommend to not come here at all, especially if you are starving!!!! Would rate it a -10/10 if I could. UPDATE: my brother threw up and everything is coming out of him. The Parmesan wings from this place is the only thing he ate and he didn't even finish them. I placed an online order while on my way back to my Airbnb from the park. I had my little one with me and needed something delicious and quick-ish. It was easy to order online and our food was ready when we got there. The wings are delicious and big. I ordered the garlic parmigiana and my toddler enjoyed them too. We came here after hiking Ha Ling Peak. We got drawn by the amount of flavors they had. Upon entry, there are a huge list of flavors. We got combo 2 with 2 pounds of wings, 2 sides, and 2 drinks. You can only have one flavor per pound. We got Calgary flames (shack spicy & siracha) and Winnipeg jets (orange and ginger). The chicken wings reminded us of Korean fried chicken with crispy outer texture and saucy. The Winnipeg jets reminded me of orange chicken with hint of ginger, which is unique. I really like the Calgary flames with sesame on top; really elevate the taste. The wings are decent size and every bite has flavor. The sides are huge, which we had leftovers to take home. terrible service. we had gone inside with high hopes and expectations only to be met with horrible realizations. rude customer service mid order she answers a call n takes an order we then sit down for like 45 min then the food comes. the chicken is cooked beyond well done it's crushing in my hands it almost broke a tooth and when we told the worker the chicken is way way dome she proceeds to combat our service talking about how it was cook according to the timer. Picked up wings and a wrap to go. Took wings back to hotel room and noticed a bunch of hair deep fried into one and some just on top of other pieces. Took them back for the lady in the back to tell us that she's been in the business for 5 years and that chickens have hair and that it's fine for wings to have hair on them....very gross and strange for her to argue when it's very clear there is hair sticking out of the wings. BEST WINGS EVER!!! Finally got around to trying the Alberta Wing Shack in Cochrane and now I'm extremely mad I didn't try it sooner. Absolutely hands down the best wings I have ever had. Perfect amount of delicious crispy coating, amazing sauces and dry rubs. Even the fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned. The staff was super friendly, suggesting one of their 70 amazing flavours depending on what you were craving. Cooked fresh to order. Dangerously good!! I am certain these are the best chicken wings I have ever eaten! I can't say enough about how good the wings are. They have 70 sauces to choose from and they all are obviously homemade, handcrafted recipes that will have you licking your fingers the whole time. We hit this place after a day of hiking. Touring much of Alberta and B.C. over three weeks draws you into all the touristy areas, but this was a great little gem of a place tucked into the commercial area of Banff. Definitely a family favorite with a nice little casual outdoor area. We even went out of our way to come back a second time and I took his recommendation to try the Jaffna wings - they were AMAZING. The most unique wing flavor I've ever had - a special Sri Lankan blend of spices with some fresh and spicy peppers chopped on top. Everyone is nice in Canada, but the owner here was maybe the nicest we encountered. He even remembered us immediately when I ordered the Jaffna wings. We'll be back on our next trip for sure! Too many other awesome flavors to try. Oh and if you're wondering about portion size, prepare to take some food home with you. The wings are fat and plentiful and they don't skimp on the fries. read more

I had high hopes, but..... I ordered over the internet the 2 pound special with an extra ($1.50) sauce. I ordered about 4:16 and the order confirmation was somewhat unclear on the suggested pick-up time. I.e. between 5:05 PM and 9:00 PM. The website implied that they didn't open until 4:55 so I drove over and arrived at 5:00 PM. When I got there it turned out that this location had been open since noon. My receipt indicated the order was ready at 4:39 PM. So my order was already 21 minutes old. The counter person was quite pleasant and brought my order in a tied off bag to the counter and added napkins, ketchup, and plasticware. By the time I got home the order was more the 30 minutes old and my extra ($1.50) sauce was not in the bag. Because, the order had been sitting so long the wings and fries were only lukewarm. The Kansas BBQ wings were heavily covered in sauce and texturally "gooey" rather than crispy. The Honey Mustard wings were little better. The fries tasted like cold, undercooked potatoes. After dinner I phoned the store to ask for a refund of $1.50 for the missing sauce. The fellow answering the phone insisted he had put the sauce in bag and to check the car. I checked the car: no sauce. On the second call the same staff person said he could not refund a partial amount to my credit card but offered to refund in cash if I returned to the store or to give me two "free" sauces the next time I ordered. I guess I'm out $1.50 (plus tax and tip percent) as I won't be returning. read more
