Reviewing my first McDonald's because it's the flagship store with the global menu. Maybe something to do more of. Honestly, I had a pretty good experience here. Chicago is nice and walkable and this spot is easy to access. The spot is clean and the workers are super friendly with excellent service. They provided an extra water on the side with my order, despite me not ordering or requesting one. Ordering is easy on the kiosks where one can browse their available global options which appear to rotate from time to time. Extremely spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating plus a clean washroom and nice area to walk around afterwards for some digestion.
When I visited in December 2025, they didn't have that many cool international options. I got the samurai burger from Singapore; some European countries steak fries; and Malaysia mango McFlurry. The burger was a normal burger with some different teriyaki? Sauce. The fries were cut into wedges. Those two were okay, I wouldn't get them again. The mango McFlurry was yummy. The mangos taste like dried mangos but the texture was still a little chewy. Service fast, bathrooms clean.
They had the Chinese crinkle cut garlic fries and it was so good. The ghost pepper mcchicken was actually pretty spicy and it builds up. Got the Italian nuts waffle cone and that was just original vanilla icecream with chocolate fudge and nuts but also pretty good. Lots of people but enjoyed it a lot!
This McDonald's offers the global menu, which makes for such a fun and unique experience. The garlic pepper fries, Philly Cheese Stack, and Biscoff McPops were all 10/10, definitely the highlights. The Ghost Pepper McChicken was very spicy to the point where it took away from the enjoyment. My friends really liked the mango curry wrap, but it wasn't my favorite. Service was smooth, though we ordered directly from the kiosk.
Recently visited the only McDonald's in the U.S. with an international menu and had such a fun experience. The location itself is surprisingly beautiful, elevated and modern, especially for a fast-food spot. We ordered from the kiosk and tried the Samurai Burger from Singapore along with the 3 McPops Mix. Our food was even delivered by an employee in a suit, which somehow added to the bougie-meets-fast-food vibe of the whole place. The Samurai Burger was smaller than expected for the price, but still tasty. The juicy beef paired well with the mayo and teriyaki sauce for a sweet-savory combo. The McPops Mix included a Biscoff and Chocolate Hazelnut McPop from Spain and a Berry McPop from Switzerland. The chocolate hazelnut and Biscoff flavors were spot-on and indulgent, while the berry one reminded me of a classic jelly donut. If you're nearby, Hamburger University is right next door for a fun photo op. Overall, it's a unique and entertaining stop. The food quality is still standard McDonald's, but the international menu and elevated setting make it worth checking out to see what items rotate in next.
I have been wanting to try to this place since I moved to Chicago. I have been to events with the headquarters but never eaten at Hamburger University. The appeal of the Hamburger University is the international menu. We started off my ordering at the kiosk since I had some rewards and wanted to get my French fries for free. For food on this occasion I had a yummy Biscoff Carmel McFlurry. I also shared a Big Arch with my husband. Big Arch includes two quarter-pound patties, three slices of white cheese, crispy onions, slivered onions, pickles, lettuce, and a special Big Arch sauce on a sesame and poppy seed bun. We really enjoyed the burger. It was an upgrade from your traditional Mickey D burger. Would love to come back and try other things. Service was quick and would like to see what other global things they offer.
FOOD PASSPORT The only McDonald's with an international menu serving menu items from other countries' McDonalds. The Global Menu items are on a 6 week rotation with the rest of the international variety, so you can try different things every so often. Don't worry, they serve the regular American selection here too. I am not sure why everyone is crazed about the standard McWraps but they are basic as heck. I got the Global versions for some reason thinking they would be any better. The Netherlands Sweet Chili and the Classic from Poland was nothing to write home about, albeit I am writing about it here. Despite having different ingredients and sauce, I was sorely disappointed with the flavor combination and the quality, and because of that, did not warrant the price point. The McPops were like donut holes with filling. These were decent and I would probably eat them again. I said EAT them, but would not buy them, because for 3 pieces, the price is outrageous for the amount you get. So if you want to donate McPops to me I won't refuse them. I think I came on the worst menu rotation. I only rated this location up because the service at this McDonald's was better than you can find elsewhere and the staff was actually helpful. It was pretty clean, unlike most McDonalds with the tables always being messy. Also, there are charging stations in the dining areas at certain tables. The novelty of having foreign items makes this site unique. So you can explore if you want but let it be known, some of these menu items should be deported.
Finding the McDonald's headquarters in Chicago; the global home of the brand and being able to enjoy a diverse menu with items from different countries and international options is truly fascinating. Living the experience is absolutely worth it. The place is huge, the ordering process is super easy and fast, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Belinda; she is the best; You can definitely feel the atmosphere of a global McDonald's. I would absolutely return; it was interesting, tasty, and truly delicious.
I had to check out this McDonald's on a trip to Chicago. This McDonald's is there world headquarters and is right next door to Hamburger University which is where all the General managers at McDonald's has to go through training. When I ordering from the kiosk they have several of them there this McDonald's has a global menu which means you can get items that they do not have other places in the United States. They have items from other countries not the full menu but a selected amount of them I thought this was pretty neat. I decided to order from the global menu and try something new I haven't tried before. I ordered the triple onion burger, Deluxe potatoes, and for dessert I had the three Mcpops mix. I took my order number to the table and shortly after my meal was delivered to the table. Everything tasted so good. They do have signs up in the place stating that you only have 20 minutes to sit and eat your food which I didn't care for them to actually have a time limit on how quick you can eat your food but everything else was very good the place was clean and the workers were very polite.
I might get flack for reviewing a McDonalds, but this is a special one - it's the global headquarters with the international menu! I was very pleasantly surprised that it was also available for late night delivery - I could totally see this place closing earlier at night, but being able to deliver a bunch of fun international items to try after a night out makes it a top experience for me. We tried the McAloo burger from India, donut holes from Switzerland, a chicken burger from Canada, and the Big Mac from the USA. I'll say this is probably not really deserving of the 5 star review (after all, the food is McDonalds quality), but I think the novelty and the hours of this location make it just a unique McDonalds experience.
The place is nice and clean. They have kiosk to take your order but today I appreciated being able to order at the counter. I was excited to try the samurai burger, and the winter fries with my usual Diet Coke. For a sweet treat I ordered the assortment of McPops which reminds me of jelly or chocolate filled donuts. The service was quick. Once we seated, they were already bringing out some of my order. One of the persons there, perhaps a manager handed the kiddos an extra toy. I thought that was very kind. The samurai Burger had a very tangy teriyaki sauce on it. I didn't enjoy the flavor that much. The winter fries were pretty good. Think waffle fries but seasoned. The McPops were delicious, and I wish they had them on every McDonald's menu.
Since we were already in downtown Chicago and just a short drive to the McDonald's Global Menu Location, we decided to swing by and see what international flavors were on rotation. Having spent a month in India, I was excited to see the Aloo (means potato) Tikki veg burger on the menu. I had to get it, and it instantly brought back memories of the ones I enjoyed abroad. They're also offering Malaysian curly fries (think Arby's curly fries with a twist), though I skipped those this time. Other rotating items included dishes inspired by Guatemala and Sweden but with so many great dining options in Chicago, I didn't go all in here. Ordering is straightforward: there are three self-service kiosks, or you can use the McDonald's app to punch in your four-digit code and earn points. Of course, there's always the option to head to the counter and order the old-school way. About parking, it's rough! There are a handful of curbside pickup spots, but they're almost always full. Your best bet? Park a few blocks away (three or four if needed) and walk. Worst case, one person stays in the car while the other runs in to grab the order. All in all, this location is a fun stop if you're curious about global McDonald's flavors, but just know parking requires a little strategy and patience. Had to come here as they offer a rotating menu from other countries! When i came in July 2025, I ordered the bacon hot honey McCrispy from Canada, the twister fries from Malaysia, and the McPops mix from Switzerland and Spain. I really enjoyed the McCrispy- the chicken was super crispy and juicy, and the bun was moist and fluffy! The hot honey wasn't too spicy. The twister fries reminded me of curly fries from other fast food chains so they weren't that special. The McPops reminded me of mochis, my favorite was the white chocolate, then berry and biscoff. Came on a Sunday around 1PM and there was a short line to order on the kiosks, then they bring the order to your table. It was a cool experience and I would come back to try their other rotating items! read more
I normally don't go to McDonald's while out of town but I had to come here and try the global offerings! The menu isn't too big, but they have some good choices. I think they rotate it every few months too so today I got to try the bacon hot honey mccrispy, the mcpops and the chips ahoy mcflurry. All delicious! I love the biscoff mcpop the best of the trio, just a soft donut like pastry with biscoff cream in the middle. So good! I normally don't go for spicy, but the sandwich was soooo good. I enjoyed the hot honey and the crispy jalapeños, it didn't have a lingering spice. The bacon was nice and crispy. I thought it was worth the trip to try the global menu items. read more

Came to the McDonald's global menu restaurant the other day to try some international favorites and had a great experience. We ordered our food on one of the touch screens which was a hassle free experience but we were sad to see that a lot of the international items were out of stock. That was a little disappointing since it was the reason for us coming to this spot but we were still able to try out some different items and everything was great. This McDonald's has very nice seating and a very modern interior design. Our food came out quickly and we enjoyed everything we tried! read more

This was such a fun experience, getting to try the international menu. We got one of each and split everything. Our faves were the spicy black pepper chicken nuggets, masala shaker fries and the koldskal McFlurry. It was DIY screen ordering and call a number at the counter, so no real service involved. It was very clean, modern and we would definitely go again!! read more

I incidentally found out about this from a YouTuber foodie. My husband and I were in the area visiting family and tried this McDonald's with a couple of friends. The restaurant itself is very cutting-edge and clean. The employees are very nice and the service very fast!!! I got the McAloo Tikki burger from India. The patty is vegetarian and made of mashed potatoes and peas. I added cheese, but it comes with tomatoes, onions, and a spiced version of burger sauce between two wheat buns. This burger was exceptional!!! The patty tasted a lot better than how it's described. I'd love to make it at home!!! For a side, I got the deluxe potatoes from France. They were very well-seasoned and cooked!!! My husband got the triple onion burger from South Korea and really enjoyed it. For dessert, I got the strawberries and cream pie. Oh my gosh, that pie is better than the apple pie!!! It's the perfect blend of creamy and fruity!!! My husband got the berries pops, which were like fruity donut holes with filling in the middle. He loved them so much, he said he wishes they were available in all McDonald's here!!! This is a McDonald's worth visiting on more than one occasion. Oh, and yes, the ice cream machine was working, ha ha. read more
This is a unique McDonald's as you can get foods from around the world for limited time. But at the end of the day it's just another McDonald's. It is very large and very quick. Plenty of kiosk for ordering and lots of seating options. I ordered the $5 dollar meal deal around 2pm on a Thursday and despite everything that makes this seem like an elevated McDonald's experience it was the same. The service is really good. But the food is so so. Their sweet potato fries were just ok. But their McPops were so good. My favorite flavor was the berry McPops. The sweet chili wrap was good but I couldn't taste the sweet chili. My double cheese burger was good as always but they added so much ketchup that my patty kept sliding off the burger. The decor and lights were really cool though. Even though the food wasn't five stars it was still a fun experience. read more

So cool that they offer a rotating global menu so I had to come check it out! I ordered the twister fries from Malaysia, the McPops mix from Switzerland and Spain, and the bacon hot honey McCrispy from Canada. The twister fries were just crispy fries, and though you can't go wrong with curly fries, it was pretty similar to curly fries from Jack in the box or Arby's so it wasn't anything special. The McPops were soft, fluffy donuts and had different fillings inside. I enjoyed the berry and white chocolate McPops, the biscoff one was decent. The bacon hot honey McCrispy was actually pretty good as the chicken was crispy, juicy and tender! The bun was also moist and fluffy and the sauce wasn't too spicy. We came around 1 pm on a Sunday and there was a short line to order from the kiosks (they have multiple kiosks at the entrance but more in the back near the restroom entrance). Service was nice and quick and they bring the order to your table. It's a fun experience so I would come back to try their other rotating items if I'm back in Chicago! read more
this mcdonald has the GLOBAL MENU!! (each month they have a new global menu with different items from around the world) loved this mcdonald's experience as you get to try items from around the world without having to go around the world. our global menu: (in order from most enjoyed to least) mcpops (variety: berry, biscoff, white chocolate, 5/5): these were very yummy, like a filled donut, very soft. would def wish they were on the u.s. menu ramen mcshaker fries (5/5): i loved the idea of this as you add seasoning to normal fries and shake them yourself. loved the ramen flavor. spicy garlic black pepper chicken nuggets (4/5): the pepper was a good addition to the typical nuggets but i didn't really taste the spicy garlic flavor, still delicious. mccrispy honey mustard bacon (4/5): loved the crispyness of the chicken! pistachio mcflurry (3/5): not the biggest fan of pistachio flavored dessert but still yummy to try. spicy big tasty (2/5): didn't really taste anything different from a regular burger off the us menu. the staff was very friendly and clean dinning area, wish there more locations that incorporated this idea. read more

There are limited "global" items but it's still worth it to check out if you are in Chicago. We tried the samurai chicken burger and mcpops (hazelnut chocolate and biscoff), both were tasty and flavourful. The location is accessible and is right next to Mcdonalds university. read more
Was excited to try the international items during my visit to Chicago. There were only a handful of international items and majority weren't super different from what we normally see on the menu. Tried the ghost pepper chicken sandwich, butterscotch crunch McFlurry, teriyaki burger, garlic pepper waffle fries, and the donuts. The McFlurry and garlic pepper fries were wonderful but the rest were very mediocre. The donuts are super dry and taste stale. read more
Today is 3-21-25. The best McDonald's in Chicago! Modern, huge, clean, QR code ordering from your table, cell phone charging at the table, cushioned seats, free drink refills, lovely nice and kind staff and managers, and the best part is there are international items from Japan and Denmark and other countries like Canada with their favorite dishes here. Nowhere else in Chicago do you get these international items. You will love it here. I like how there are free mint candies here. They're minty and they're sweet. They taste good. PARKING is terrible though. Take CTA or walk or Uber/Lyft. Beware, there is a Chicago city meter made walking around all the time until midnight. So make sure you pay to park on the street through the mobile app called Park Chicago. You have to pay $4.75 an hour. It's best you pay on the app bc in 45 min that we were here, we saw 6-7 tickets given. There's so much food here there's different kinds of sweets and different kinds of food. And you can order on the kiosk. And it's also kid friendly. and what does that mean? It means that kids are allowed and the free candy makes it more fun. The candy makes your breath minty. read more
This is a fun stop if you are in town and want to try something new at McDonald's as they have their international menu on rotation. I tried the McPops and the Crisscross cut chips, both delicious, and got my typical order as well. They do rotate the international options so hopefully you come at a time that works in your favor. My friend wasn't too excited about what our options were but enjoyed the cheesesteak burger they got. Plenty of seating, lots of places to order, and quick service. read more
We came around lunch time and it was so full! We were able to snag some seats but I would keep that in mind if you're trying to come with a larger party. As a tourist, I was a little sad to see that there were only a few global options. But if I were to have easy access to this location, I would love that the menu switches out for different global locations every once in a while. But it looks like the ebi filet from Japan is on the menu year round because this was my favorite thing we got here. It's a must get! Best McDonalds experience ever! This is the only Micky Ds with the global menu featuring a selection of around the world items that rotates every couple months. The spot is super clean and the food comes out at record speeds. There's even a supervisor that greets all the guests when they walk through the door. All the food is on point too! read more

I'm not sure why some ratings are so low! It's still a MCD after all, so keep your expectations like you would any other MCD. The decor and furniture is quite nice and tables plentiful inside and out. I was so excited for their global menu, where they feature a couple global items that rotate about monthly. We ordered: Big Tasty (Sweden): My personal favorite, a huge burger with fancy cheese. It was juicy and delicious. Lots of tomato slices and lettuce. Chicken Tasty w/Bacon (Switzerland): Our least favorite but it wasn't bad. The chicken patty was a little thin and dry/overfried. The bacon flavor overpowered the rest of the burger. Ebi Filet-o (Japan): My husband's favorite and I really liked it too. Juicy shrimp patty with a few whole shrimp pieces inside. This burger was a bit smaller and buns a little flat like some typical MCD burgers. Salted Caramel Dipped Cone (South Korea): I was excited for this but it fell short for me. The salted caramel tasted a bit off for me. A bit too sweet and not salty enough. Chicken nuggets & fries: We always have to have some nuggets and fried with our MCD meals, and these were yummy as expected! The nuggets were perfectly fried. Service was quick and they brought our order to the table. Some servers were a little cold and some were really friendly, it was fine. Note the global menu items are a bit more pricey, about $7 per burger but some of them are quite large. Overall very satisfied with our experience here and would come back when their menu changes again! read more
We came here to check out the global menu and were a bit disappointed that there were not very many global offerings, one burger and two chicken sandwiches and a few dessert items. Aside from that, the service was friendly and fast, it's priced reasonably, and the restaurant is clean--just a great McDonald's to visit overall. Service is great and quick. We ordered at the kiosk because we wanted to look at the different international food options. I only tried the dessert items. The salted caramel cone was pretty good, I don't think I tasted caramel much. It got messy really fast so have napkins ready. The mcpops were really good! They have hazelnut and custard filled pops. I thought they came w a good amount of filling. Very sweet but that's what I like! This McDonald's is worth a try if you want to try the exclusive items and like donuts and sweets :)) read more
Super tidy interior, well-lit as well. Very welcoming ambiance and easily navigable kiosks. Came a little too early to experience the full global menu but was able to get the donuts filled with white chocolate. Delicious. Ordered the hot 'n' spicy McGriddle as well, which was honestly delicious beyond explanation. Food was brought to our table promptly. I loved my experience and will be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

Friends and I kept seeing videos about the international menu at this McDonald's location in Chicago so we had to go! I ordered a Philly cheesesteak stack burger from Great Britain and it was the best McDonald's burger I've had -- it really should come to US menus. It had cheese sauce AND American cheese, carmelized onions and crunchy onion straws. We also tried the crisscross chips and white chocolate mcpops (filled donut holes) from other countries -- all of it was amazing and we all wished we could order these back home. Friends who tried the spicy chicken BLT said it's no joke -- it's really spicy! Definitely worth trying if you're ever in town! read more

This is a really cool McDonald's that has menu items from around the world. I placed an order at the kiosk and the food came out in less than two minutes on a busy afternoon. It can get really crowded and difficult to find a table during their peak hours, but the staff were friendly and it's cool how they're dressed up in a dress shirt and tie. McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse was my favorite of the global items, great BBQ flavoring and it was a large piece of nicely crisp chicken. The Koldskal McFlurry was also really good, sweet and a little bit tart from the lemon syrup they use, and also refreshing. Black pepper garlic nuggets were like an upgraded version of McNuggets, great black pepper seasoning in the breading of the chicken. The Masala fries were interesting, shook it in the bag and I thought it would be too salty, from the salt and masala seasoning, but it was good. Good amount of masala coated every fry. McPops were better than I expected. They're like little donut holes or and the berry flavor was my favorite, tart and sweet. White chocolate was rich and creamy on the inside and was also good. The Biscoff flavor was also nice, I enjoy biscoff cookies on it's own, so it was cool to see it in a McPop. Lastly, The 280 Dijon, was sort of disappointing. The ciabatta-like bread it was on was sort of dry and the burger patties on it were bland and flavorless. Not enough Dijon sauce on it and the best thing on it were the tomatoes. read more

My friends and I wanted to come here to try the international menu. We got: nutella-filled mini donuts (1/5) - white chocolate-filled mini donuts (5/5) - very addictive, just gets sweet after a bit...they taste good even cold butterscotch glazed creme-filled donuts (2/5) - the butterscotch threw me for a loop because it was so strong and artifial, but the creme filling was ok cookies n creme glazed donut (5/5) - same dough as the other donuts I think, just topped with cookies n cream bits cookies n creme pie (1/5) - filling was a strange marshmallow spread texture and the crust was flavorless apple pie (4/5) - better than the standard apple pie at most McDonald's fried chicken mcgriddle (3/5) - English breakfast sandwich (3/5) - the added Worcestershire sauce didn't add much bagel sandwich (4/5) - It was a good place to try and I would probably stop by to check out whatever international items are in rotation if I lived in Chicago. read more

This is a McDonald's, but just with a special global menu, full stop. If you have higher expectations coming in on either food, service, or aesthetics then you're at the wrong place. With that out of the way, this Global Menu McDonalds is a really cool concept with interesting items that I feel like is worth going out of your way if you're visiting Chicago (HQ of McD). It looks like there's a rotating menu of items from 6-8 countries. I had a burger from Germany, onion rings from Australia, and dessert from Japan to name a few. The restaurant's decor feels clean and efficient - with large touch screens to order and coffee-house style furniture. They even deliver the food to you once you get a number! I would highly recommend checking either Postmates or Uber Eats before coming to see what special items they are serving during that period so that you can decide whether to come or not. read more

McDonald's headquarter with a rotating menu of items from international menus! Large, clean space with a bunch of easy to order screens. We tried the Ebi O Filet from Japan. Tasty shrimp sandwich with lightly fried shrimp patty with actually chunks of shrimp. We also tried the Chicken Tasty with Bacon which was a reasonable size and moist friend chicken patty and large bacon strips. I liked the chicken sandwich more for sure! Both good and a cool experience to try without having to play far away! read more

The only time I eat fast food is if it's In-N-Out or overseas at an American chain to see what regional specialties they have. Mcdonald's Japan is amazing with their ebi shrimp burger that's on their menu year round. When I saw that this McDonald's had global menu offerings including the ebi burger, I told myself I had to check it out. Unfortunately some of the menu items were sold out, like the beloved Japan ebi burger. I ended up just getting South Korea dipped caramel vanilla cone, which is not special but it was different. This McDonald's is nicer than the other ones. I'm giving it a three stars because this gives locals a chance to try some menu items around the world without having to book a flight. read more

Usually I wouldn't write Yelp reviews for a McDonald's, but this is the global menu restaurant that as far as I'm aware only exists in their global headquarters here in Chicago. It's pretty similar to a normal McDonald's (although I think it has some training facility attached to it) as you essentially just order from one of their kiosks and then the food gets delivered to you. With their global menu, it seems like they will rotate a set of menu items from around the world so if you come back a few months later it will be different. For my items, I got the Mushroom Deluxe McCrispy from Costa Rica, the Maple Caramel Donut from Canada, and the Ebi Filet from Japan. While the Mushroom Deluxe McCrispy wasn't my favorite, I think the donut (which has filling inside) and the Ebi Filet were pretty solid. The shrimp in the filet was actually pretty flavorful, and I think that's the item I wouldn't mind trying again in the future. Overall, pretty interesting experience to check out although it'll definitely vary based on what is in store. read more

This is the Famous Chicago McDonald's with the world Menu!!! I ordered one of everything but my favorite was the McPops, Phillycheese Burger, and the MCFlurry from Belgium was amazing!!!!!!! This is a very busy location but just like any other McDonald's the food served quick and a lot of seating indoors. read more
Yup, McDonald's is still McDonald's, even though they have a global menu. Sadly the Hamburger University part of it was under construction. The vibes were the same, except that there was a bit more seating. It was still a bit messy, the fries and onion rings (from Australia) were not fresh but stale. The only redeeming factor was the chicken nuggets, because McNuggets can never really become too stale. Don't think I'd be back to this particular location any time soon. read more
