Not very inviting... sitting waiting for our food sitting by the wall where the food comes out and a girl was like just clock me the fuck out already and not quietly... and then the same rude girl asked where someone went or got off and two girls answered at 2. And this is at 2:40 and she said um well I didn't tell her she could go... WTH... if she's scheduled to be off at 2 and was told to clock out at 2:10-2:15 I wouldn't stay and work for free. Oh. My. We got our food to go. Big mistake. Going back to return the food wasn't an option. Club sandwich with hard, not dry, hard bread. Bread that has set out uncovered for far too long. A salad with so much slimy lettuce it went in the trash. We get it. Bulk lettuce is bound to have a few bad pieces but this was absolutely gross. How does this establishment stay open? I think I may have posted a review during the virus years, but I can't find it to update it. We hadn't been to this store since 2020 due to a string of incidents and the store never being open. We had heard from some family who live in GT that it's greatly improved and worth another visit, so we stopped back by for tea day and lunch. I was very impressed with the number and quality of staff, the speediness and quality of food and I must also mention the woman who walked around asking if she could get you anything. Wow. Let me just say I've had a lot of bad experiences from this location with delivery, but I think the dine in just took the cake. I went into this location thinking it would be good. I've had a good experience every time with the location on Milwaukee, so why not. I placed my order, got my drinks and waited. The lobby was a little loud, other people were getting their orders, cool, food is going out. Then I started to notice people that were coming in after me were getting their food, but that's okay, I'll wait. Over an hour later, I go up to the front. Most of the dining has thinned out and there shouldn't be a reason it took so long. They inform me they don't have my order. Wow. I had the tag on the end of my table just waiting. 15 more minutes and they bring some food to the table, all of it was wrong. They go back, 15 more minutes and it comes back. Came in for a pickup order and it wasn't quite done yet so I went and sat down to wait. 15 minutes goes by and I don't hear anything so I went to ask if my food was about done and instead of handing it me they threw it on the door dash rack and let it sit there for 10 minutes. 10/10 wouldn't go to that McAlister's ever again. This was nothing but disappointing. We ordered to go. Two people. We ordered half a potato and choose two with a salad and soup. We also tried the mini pretzel dogs because they were advertising them. Firstly, they took 20 mins for our small order and there were literally no other customers. When we opened our meal, we discovered there was no dressing for the salad, they gave us three spoons for a salad, potato and soup. No forks. They didn't put any dressing for the salad. They didn't put any mustard even though we ordered corn dogs. And, our food was missing toppings that should have been included according to the menu description. Also, the baked potato was so old and dry there may have been two tablespoons of potato to dig out of the dry potato carcass. Just terrible. Tasted terrible. Packed with no concern.....or napkins. I go to McAlister's at least once a week . I can say that I am happy with my order 95% of the time, but today not so much. I ordered a chopped salad. I would say the about 1/3 or more was the salad was the part of the greens you would put in the garbage. The greens were not finely chopped. If I had wanted a regular salad I would have ordered it. Tee the manager has amazing leadership and an approach to take direct action, he replaced our order and restored our faith in his restaurant. He was so thorough and responded perfectly. Twice while we were waiting a young man came up front from the kitchen, looked around, said nothing and turned and walked back out. The 3rd time he walked in he filled some cups and walked back out. There was one couple that said they had been waiting close to an hour. Meanwhile, a female would come in to counter area, put food in the counter and walk out. After about 15 minutes of waiting she came out and said order for Michael and walked out. She came back in a bit and said here's your sandwich, my husband said " Where's the salad?" She said what salad, he said you tell me. She checked and said, oh yeah, I'll get you one. We finally paid and got home to eat and we're further disappointed. The sandwich, which is described above had some cold roast beef slapped in a pile on one edge of the bread, there was NO CHEESE, no carmelized onions and a smear of what might have been horseradish the size of a nickel. It was completely disgusting considering the mess in the store. I am guessing the salad was pre-made so it was as advertised and tasty. The bottom line is the food at McAlister's is pretty good. I could go to McAlister's just to drink there ice tea and eat there sugar cookies. I don't know what they do to make these, but it about the best things ever made! This store is laid out a little weird with a spread out counter that lets people who walk in well behind you walk to the front of (one of the) lines. It seems like there are more tables at this location then they have on 19th street but the layout is completely different so who knows. Everything I have here is good go I think you'll do pretty well picking out something. I am a huge suck er for sourdough bread so I usually get the ham and cheese on sourdough with chicken tortilla soup. Another favorite is the baked potatoes because of all the different meats that you can order with them. Again, whatever you order as a meal make sure you get a sugar cookie and ice tea! Usually they run out of (good) cookies at lunch so if you go in for dinner you'll probably miss out. read more

We order from this location a lot but after today we won't be. Ordered through their website for delivery, which goes to door dash. I received a text from the door dash driver that the restaurant ran out of one of the ordered items and that she would contact door dash and I should receive a refund. Thank you to the awesome door dash driver that let me know we would not be receiving all of our food. Why did the restaurant not contact us to let us know about the issue and see if we wanted something different? However, this location has gotten very slow as of late...today, we wanted for our food for 20-25 minutes after waiting in line to order for 10 minutes. The chain decided to change the King Club, my favorite sandwich, about 6 months ago by replacing the ciabatta bun with regular sandwich bread. Thankfully, I can still request the old style. I decided to have McAlisters Deli today for lunch like I do once or twice a week. Service at this location is hit and miss, but the food is usually pretty good. Today, the service missed the mark completely. I walked into the restaurant a few minutes before noon. There were only a couple of people in line in front of me, and only one cashier. While I waited in line several more customers got in line behind me and it didn't take long before the line was substantial. Another cashier came from the kitchen, and instead of waiting on the next person in line, he pointed to someone that was several spots behind me and waited on them. As I stood 3rd in line I watched while 3 people behind me were helped and so I decided to leave without ordering. My husband & I took our 17-month-old granddaughter to McAlister's on 82nd. I had my hungry toddler in my arms, and my husband was carrying the drinks and child's backpack (diapers, bib, etc). We had no idea where the high chairs were located, so we asked a woman wearing a blue McAlister's t-shirt (it matched the shirts of those that worked in the food prep area), about the chairs. She pointed to the back of the restaurant and said they always keep them at back. I'm sure she saw my facial expression and asked if we wanted her to get one. I said yes, and my husband said he'd get it. He too, was disgusted with the female's lack of initiative. She begrudgingly brought the high chair to our table, and and left it turned backwards. I'm the kind of person who finds what I love and orders it over and over and over again every time I go back to that restaurant. I have lived in Lubbock and been trying to find something at McAllister's for seven years now. It seems like everyone in Lubbock wants to go to McAllister's and I'm the only one who ever objects. I have tried soups, salads, sandwiches, potatoes. Nothing has been outstanding to me. It's not that I think any of it is necessarily bad... I just don't love any of it. To me... I could make a baked potato a soup and salad or sandwich that's just as good at my own house for way cheaper. I know I may be the odd man out here...but I just don't see what's so awesome about it. We have been to McAllister's Deli in several cities across the nation. They are pretty consistent all over. Good food, good service & clean stores. This one is no exception. My favorite is The New Yorker. Corned beef, pastrami, piled high, Swiss and spicy brown mustard on toasted rye. They don't skimp on this sandwich. Its great. We will continue coming here. read more

He was frustrated because we were already eating lunch late & he had to drive back. He hoped they'd at least offer us some extra. Instead, the manager gave him a full refund on our complete meal, & gave us some cookies too! I haven't had good customer service like that at a food place in a LONG time. I wish I could give them zero stars. My dad ordered a french dip and his meal was the only meal that didn't come out when the rest of ours did. We waited 10 more minutes and asked about the french dip, they said they would bring it out. We waited 20 more min, where it just sat in the window and was never brought out to us while the kid working that area sat and talking with people in a booth. I went up again and the french dip was finally given to us. The french dip was dry and cold with hardly any meat on it. Will not be coming back to this location. read more

I went here twice for lunch while back in Lubbock. Apparently it's a chain, but I had never heard of it before. The Good: The food is fantastic. I ordered a sandwich/salad combo and it was cheap. Their sweet tea worth the hype. The Bad: Their service is a bit odd. It seems like everything runs a bit slower there. They have a funky system of giving you a number, letting you sit wherever you want in a huge divided dining room, and then bringing the food to you. I saw waiters and waitresses ambling around trying to find numbers. I swear the girl with our food passed by us multiple times before she stopped and asked if she, in fact, had our order. Overall: They'd get 4 stars because of the backwards way they serve. It'd all be much easier if they simply called your number and you picked it up. read more
