Delicious! We loved our mobile order tonight. Sunday night so I was worried it would take too long. Great food and ready at the appointed time. We had a Southwest salad, French dip, and Memphisian. I believe their problem is upper management is lacking. Does not appear to be (every) employees fault for this store being so miserable. Lunch took about an hour to order and eat. Bathrooms weren't working. There was no soap in the bathroom. There wasn't a trash can in the bathroom. There one person taking orders. And I can imagine she's paid hourly, no rush whatsoever. Do NOT order a fruit cup. Fruit had to be no less than 10 days old. Blackberries were mushy, pineapple was rotten, and strawberries were WHITE. They had no water pressure so you couldn't get a water to drink but you could get a tea, somehow. They left my order on the window, when I went to retrieve they said they'd bring it to me. NEVER order from this restaurant online. We recently placed an order online only for someone else to pick up the order. The restaurant did not want to replace the food, nor give us a refund. They even tried to throw DoorDash under the bus. Don't recommend this restaurant at all. If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. In addition, the manager with whom the delivery lady spoke to was very rude. This is actually the second time this has happened to us, and this restaurant is known for trying to throw DoorDash under the bus despite the restaurant being the one that engages in anti-consumer activities. Just finished half of my spud and then found a long black hair in the other half. I feel sick to my stomach. This is certainly the kind of thing that makes me never want to go back to a restaurant. Sweet tea was still really good, but jeez my stomach turned. They have no name tags. Balding old lady in black shirt was a raging beotch. I attended the restaurant with an acquaintance, she has a few allergies, which isn't the end of the world. We asked what products didn't contain what she was allergic to and she just pointed to the menu and said they're marked. We explained how some of her allergies weren't on the menu, then she pulled out a book of nutrition facts. She told us we were wasting her time, but afterwards she just stood in front of the soda machine while no sodas were being ordered, doing nothing. I normally don't write bad reviews but thought this should be said. I ordered the French dip from a call. They told me to pick up in 15 minutes and so I was there in that time. When I got home and open package I noticed that my meat and cheese was primarily on only one side of the sandwich. alternatively the meat and cheese were cold. I called back and asked if they could help, they gladly said that they would remake the sandwich. I drove back up and picked up a new one and when I opened it it looked good hot and fresh. Unfortunately as I begin eating the sandwich there were two large chunks of fat in the new sandwich. I would assume that after remix and a sandwich they would have taken better care to make sure that this one would be a carefully put together sandwich that would not have any issues, none the less I still found myself picking it apart and pulling out thick chunks of roast beef. The customer service was good but the sandwich was not. I'll probably give them another try but I'm disappointed from this visit.. read more

I just want to highly recommend to not order online from this store. I had placed a quick mobile order on July 6th. Unfortunately, when I drove up to the window a young man had greeted me and said that they did not have the item I was ordering. When I had asked if I could refund it or replace it he said he would have to talk to the manager. He stood away from the window for a few minutes and came back telling me their manager was out for a few days. He said I would have to call back on Monday the 8th to ask about my refund if not received. As if I was going to call back for $6 bucks. Phenomenal when they first opened and like so many restaurants in Lubbock horrible management has continued to allow this location to fall further and further into dismay. Gave them yet another chance tonight with something as simple as a half sandwich and a cup of soup. I get home and open the box to my sandwich and the bread is so stale it's hard. Looks like the kid who made it took a fist full of lettuce and just slammed it down on the minimal amount of meat they placed in it. Felt lucky there was any meat on the sandwich at all. McAlister's consistently remains a guilty pleasure of mine. Not guilty in the sense that the food is bad for you, but guilty in that I want to swan dive into a pool of their ice tea and float around in it for awhile. This McAlister's is centrally located though not close to my office. For some reason, this never bothers me and I always find a way to get there. In fact, I can get there so often you may say I am stuck in a rut, you can say that but I definitely do not mind! To me, this location is preferable over the 82nd street location because I think the employees are nicer and the facilities are cleaner. I like McAlister's for a number of reasons and I have a very difficult time ranking them. The sandwiches (Sweet Chipotle Chicken Sandwich) are consistently good, the salads (Savannah Chopped Salad) are great, the (Unsweet) Tea is delicious, the desserts (Lemon Poppy Seed Pound Cake) taste like heaven, and people here are great. The main down side is that you and I are not the only ones who love McAlister's so a big crowd is guaranteed if you go during typical meal times. The parking is sometimes a challenge but usually manageable. I would suggest not forgetting your tea and meal punch cards; after ten purchases, you get a freebie - and there other thing better than delicious food is FREE delicious food! read more

I have been a die-hard McAlister's regular since I was 16 years old - I'm now 23. I am an Arlington, Texas native and frequented the locations nearby my home there. When I came to Texas Tech in 2013, I was thrilled to find this location right near campus and continued to visit the restaurant often. Starting last fall and through this spring, I was visiting this McAlister's location at least once a week - no exaggeration. Service at this location has never been particularly speedy, but it was never unbearable and orders came out correctly. I always had the impression that the staff was competent and the restaurant well-manned. Then, at some point over the past few months, this location was renovated and with the new look came an era of slow, inaccurate, infuriating food and customer service. The store never seems to have more than one person manning the counter, even during the ever-impressive lunch rush during which the store is packed. The store's new layout means this mass of people has no logical way to queue as people just stand in a clump getting more and more frustrated. Eating in store, food takes no less than 20 minutes to reach your table as this location seems to be perpetually understaffed. That's already unacceptable for a quick-service restaurant, but then it is taken a step further. It is not uncommon to wait 45+ minutes for food, only to have to go ask them to pack it to go since you've run out of time to eat in store. I was a big fan of call-in or online ordering. My first time returning to the store after the renovation to pick up a call-in, I was lectured on how I really should use the new drive-thru setup for call-in/online ordering. After fighting the mass of people and waiting 15+ minutes before I got to the register to even let them know I had arrived to pick up my food, I certainly noted the drive thru and obliged the next time I visited. That was no great experience either. Even when I'm the only one in the drive thru, it takes at least five minutes for an employee to pop back and realize I'm there. I'm sure you can imagine by this point what the wait is like when there's two or more cars ahead of you. Oh - and in all of these scenarios, you are considered lucky if you receive your order without anything missing. The food quality remains one of the better options in this area of Lubbock, so I will miss it dearly, but I cannot subject myself to the inadequate service anymore. I have given it several extra chances in hopes it would straighten out, but something has gone seriously wrong with this location. read more

The 19th street location is the one I go to most but have been to the other. Always busy but quick. Yummy Tea. All of the food I've tasted has tasted good and was healthy, not always something that correlates. The potatoes are easily shareable, recommended for date night. Soups are hearty and full of flavor. I arrived right at pick up time there were 5 vehicles ahead. Slowly each vehicle went forward. 5 mins for each vehicle so I called asking if my order was ready, yes it was.I asked if I can go in and pick it up. I was told it'll be faster through drive thru. Should've gone with my better judgment and walked in to pick up. I was in line for another 15 mins. Got to the window and had to wait for another 3 mins for them to give me my tea. I didn't even get an apology for the wait. Need less to say, I won't be coming back to this location. First thing I read on reviews was a complaint of waiting 40 mins.
