why is senior price so high? All other aspects are good. Food, service, cleanliness all got price is too high for most seniors

The place was exceptionally clean, the food was excellent, all salad bar items fresh n tasty. The cooked items were very tasty as well. The gentleman at the register was probably one of the best host I've ever encountered and fellas, he looked absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be back!! read more

10/10 this is the best experience I've ever had at a Souper Salad! This location is one of three left in America and if you go, you will see why it thrived when the others closed down. The food was fresh, and there was no hint of artificial ingredients anywhere on the buffet line. When I went, I was greeted at the cashier station by the general manager, who was a delightfully happy individual. My favorite aspect, apart from the amazing food, was the ambience which served as some excellent 1990s throwback. I felt like I was walking back into my childhood and that alone was worth it. read more

It's so hard to find a good salad bar/buffet these days, and when you do it's usually one aspect of another type of restaurant or all you can eat buffet. The only other place I can even think of is Jason's Deli. So suffice it to say I was pretty happy when Souper Salad popped up as an option in Lubbock along the way of our road trip! A recent review from just a couple days ago had nothing good to say, so even though I was excited for all you can eat salad (a vegetarian's dream) I was a little leery that it might kinda suck. But no disappointment here! Service was friendly, and they gave us a military discount. Price was already reasonable at about $35 for two adults and a kid, but the military discount brought us down to $27 total. The restaurant was clean with servers and bussers constantly making rounds to keep the buffet tidy and tables clean. The options were so much more than I expected, too. Potato/sweet potato bar. Taco/nacho station. 6 or 7 hot soups. Pizza. Breads. Ice cream, fresh fruit, and desserts. And of course the salad with a plethora of topping and dressing options. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for other Souper Salads from now on! read more

Delicious!!! Will return They had fresh salad, veggies, fruit and pizza , taco bar, bake potatoe sweet potatoes, wonderful desserts. read more

LOCATION/AMBIANCE Souper Salad is located at the southeast corner of Slide Rd and Loop 289. The women's restroom was a bit small and in need of a renovation. The decor could also use some help. Then continue further to the right, grabbing a tray and a couple of plates. One for salad. One for bread, cornbread, and a few other hot food items. Choose wherever you'd like to sit. There are tables and booths. There are bowls for soup and extra soft-serve vanilla ice cream. You can always go back into the buffet line for more food or their other desserts. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUBKids ages 3-12 are $5.99 each. SERVICE Telecia was the best waitress I've had in a while. This sweet-talking Texas girl had such a great personality with careful attentiveness. MY FAVORITE PART... The wide variety of fresh veggies at the salad bar! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Their breads could have been fresher. First time trying and it did not disappoint! The salad buffet is like a blank canvas where you are the artist and your imagination is your only limit. The soups are delicious and there is even pizza and tacos! My expectations were exceeded! The service was excellent, my sweet tea (which was fresh) never went empty. I am definitely going back soon! read more

Glad we found another salad buffet place to enjoy. Nice selection to build the salad of your dreams. Good selection of soups. Leave the pizza for the kids. Didn't try the pasta selections or potato bar - trying to manage carbs and calories. Great friendly wait staff to bring drinks and silverware. read more

I hadn't visited since the pandemic. Now that I have returned I will keep coming. It was busy but the line moved quickly. The owner was as friendly as last time. The salad offerings were fresh with numerous options. May be the best lunch at the best price in town! read more

we were looking for a quick, quiet place to get together and Todd, the manager at SouperSalad in Lubbock came to our rescue!! We reserved a table for 10 but only 8 showed up. We had promises for 4-8 more, and Todd 'no worries, we got you covered'. The place was hoppin, the food was great, wait staff was courteous and friendly and Todd checked on everyone in the restaurant frequently. Needless to say that will be our GoTo place. We enjoyed it tremendously!!! 1-18-25 read more

Big parking lot in a plaza. The cashier is always friendly when we go in. The servers not so much. The cashier is usually the one who's bringing out our drinks and refilling them. I'm not sure his name, he's a super thing older African-American man. He's super polite and sweet. He's always helping clean the tables too. The food is always great, this is by far my favorite buffet to come to. Every time i've come here, I never see any mangers out in the buffet area helping the employees, or greeting and talking with customers which is odd for a restaurant. I will always recommend this place over any other buffet. read more

Owner was present and was amiable.....he was working the register. Food was all fresh and good. Restaurant was clean and didn't have an odor. Restrooms were even clean!! I saw Sunshine who kept the salad bar and everything else nice n clean. Just driving through but HIGHLY recommend. I don't remember the waitress name, I think her name was Vicky. She was fast to clear used plates and asked if we needed anything a couple of times. read more

It's pretty chill and quiet mostly older people but they do have really good deals and different soups and meals.

this place disgust me, first of all there was mold on 2 of my 7 plates. Second Of all, my coke tasted Like damn pepsi. I ordered coke. third of all the guy upfront charged me as a senior when I am 50 years strong and independent non gender individual . very offensive. Do not recommend any of the food, it taste like bomboclat and sour. 1 star for me. read more

Food was okay but place is so nasty dirty I wonder if they changed owners. I was grossed out

Amazing salad bar, dessert area and excellent customer service. I Will definitely be back.

I hadn't eaten at a Souper Salad in years and was a little apprehensive when my date suggested it but I'm so happy he did..everything was fresh and proper temperature..plenty of salad choices and he got pizza, I didn't but he said it was good. I think 6 soup choices with descriptions of each one, which I appreciated..he had beef vegetable and I had the chicken poblano..we were too full to try the taco/potato bar but did enjoy soft serve ice cream cones..looking forward to going back! read more

I used to really enjoy coming here. I had not been and was looking forward to the salad buffet. Sadly that was not the case. I walk in ready to pay only to hear them tell the customer ahead of me that they would be served by staff. WTH? The best part of going was the self serve! Sorry but I won't be treated like a toddler. I left and went elsewhere read more

A good, quick lunch or dinner salad spot. Fresh ingredients and toppings. If you wanna be a naughty diner there are plenty of starchy and cheesy options (pizza, bread, muffins, potato bar, pasta bar, ice cream). Something for everyone... Including vegetarians (usually have at least 2 vegetarian soup options). Yeah! read more

Souper Salad - Salad Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

The food, atmosphere, and service of this place is top of it's game. I love the people and the great variety of salad and extra's!

Haven't been to a Souper/Salad in years. We stopped in for a late and lite lunch today. The pricing wasn't too bad in my opinion as they did offer tuna, cubed ham and hard boiled eggs on the actual salad line. Everything was fresh, replenished rapidly and spills cleaned up right away. The Texas Best Salad of 2017 was really very good with fresh greens, apple slices, walnuts and a Raspberry Vinaigrette that was very good in itself (offered separately). There are light desserts such as cubed pound cake, with strawberry topping and whipped cream, chocolate pudding, fresh fruit, etc. I had a thin slice of veggie pizza which was as good as a chain pizza place. I liked it. The Chicken Enchilada Soup was flavorful too. Included is a Potato Bar and Taco Bar as well, but I passed on that. The topping is the ice cream machine with a cone. The cashier was very polite and Tony, our waiter and was extremely attentive, polite and represented the restaurant in a very positive manner. read more

Cashier in a hurry & not very friendly. (He's the owner!). As I filled my plate, a kitchen worker, cleaning the salad bar, coughed directly on the food ahead of me. She didn't turn her head or cover her mouth. It was a deep wet cough. I told the owner, thinking he'd want to address that, but he just looked at me. I asked if he'd address it, he had No response. I reminded him of his ads that say if you can touch things in stores (referring to Covid), you can dine here where it's all very clean. No response. & he never did or said anything to her. Very disappointed. read more

We love to eat here, but I was hesitant about a salad bar without self serve. Wipe that out of your mind. The experience was good. The only reason I put 4 was having to wait a little at the hot bar and not seeing our waitress much. But Natty saved the day. That young lady was ALL over the place making sure everyone had what they wanted. Great job Natty! read more

I hadn't been here in quite a while so I was interested in Che this place out again. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in what I found. The signature salad was no longer available. The big bowl of fresh strawberries at the end of the buffet was gone. The buffet line itself wasn't as clean as it used to be. The pizza looked very dry as if it had been there a while. And our waitress never asked if we wanted refills until right as we where about to leave. Overall I'd have to say the quality of this place has gone down since that Jaime guy ran it. This place is now just okay, but definitely not Super anymore. read more

Solid good place!! Great value! Family of 3 for under $35. Wife and I were like $9 each and kids were $6 each. Lots of options at the salad bar! Everything was fresh, tasty and the staff was on top of it being refilled and clean. It's a buffet so you can go back as much as u want. Great for the kids as they have pizza and Mac and cheese and other kid type options. My kids actually like salad and veggies so this was a win! Bonus is the Christian Music!! We will be back! read more

This location was struggling before new ownership a about 5 years ago resurrected it. The owner is usually running the register and is very friendly and hands on, always working to keep the salad bar full and free of drippings. Theirs is Lubbock's largest salad bar with the widest variety. When coupled with a great selection of soups, pizza, breads, some pasta and taco and baked potato bars, you'll be plenty full. Top off your meal with strawberry shortcake or self serve soft serve cream! I love the Christian music playing overhead! Glad the new owner saved Souper Salad...it not only survived, it is thriving...always busy! read more

I liked this place the first time. The next time I visited, they had changed the recipe on the soups to include lavender or something similar. Not for me. read more

Love this place! Super clean, always fresh and staff are so friendly and attentive. I'm currently pregnant and this is my to go place. They are so vegetarian friendly. Different soup options, pizza is great, seasonal fruit and they have a taco/spaghetti/potato bar with toppings. And for those who eat meat they have ground beef, pepperoni pizza and meaty soups. Must try! Thanks for great service! read more

Usually I get great service here but my boyfriend and I stopped by today and the service was horrible only two people working the other and the two other ladies were sitting down on their phones. I love this place it's so sad to see the servers not caring. We sat down for about 30 minutes without drinks until my boyfriend got up to ask for them to bring us some. :/ read more

This is one of the better deals around. Good salad bar with nice fresh veggies. I like that they include blue cheese that you can crumble over your salad. They have several choices of soup that are also really good, bread sticks, cornbread and a couple of kinds of muffins. There is pizza which is kind of floppy but still not bad, a baked potato bar, and pasta. Really a pretty decent selection. One of the few misfires is the nachos with really bland ground beef, definitely skip that one. Taking away a star for the Christian pop music that's always playing but during busy times you can barely hear it anyway. read more

Let me say that I'm comparing this buffet with Golden Corral, Soup Plantation, Vegas and city buffets. It is by far the worst one I've been to. First of all, the hosts are the only nice people who work there. The servers are un-educated young people who tend to be very rude. The last server I had dumped someone else's tray at my table even though we left a purse and sunglasses to signal that we were still there. She then gave us an attitude for the rest of our dining experience to where we had to sneak out because we didn't leave a tip. Food: some of the soups are bland. Some of the salads with dressing are bland. That leaves you with consistently stale taco shells and a trip back to the salad bar to add lettuce to your taco. The pizza and muffins are good. Of course the soft serve which is pre-processed is good. So half of the food is good. But add the bad wait staff and it is not worth the $8 and dark lighting when you can go over to Golden Corral, get steak and a better selection of flavors and service. Sorry for the bad review but after 4 trips to this place I was disappointed. read more

My family and I went to this establishment on Friday. The first thing I see is the bowl of, what looked like, a week old lettuce. I used the utensils provided to stir up the lettuce from the bottom, it all looked the same. Going down the counter, everything seem to look old and dried up. Now I recall why I don't come here.... read more

Our family loves Souper Salad. The salads are always fresh, and the blueberry and gingerbread muffins are always so good. Our kids like the pizza and ice cream. I usually stay away from the soups and other hot foods, as they are usually salty and not that great, which is why I gave 4 stars. Fair price and something for everyone. We go 4-5 times a year! read more

I've been here several times since moving from California and have yet to be disappointed. My only complaint is that sometimes it takes a few minutes to get acknowledged and pay up front. I don't think their current low rating is warranted at all... It's not as fancy as the Churrasca salad bar but you're not paying $35+ per person either. There were 3 salad options along with everything you'd expect at a full salad bar. There were even a few lo cal/ fat free dressing options and blue cheese crumbles. The pizza was ok and there were a few varieties of breads and soups along with a potato and dessert bar. All in all it's a great place to fill up on healthy fare, or you can indulge on a few not-so-healthy options if your heart/stomach desires. I will say that it's a little goofy that they charge for chicken breast, but I wouldn't want chicken sitting out for awhile either. Can't comment on quality since I've never paid extra for it. read more

This used to be a favorite of mine. Until I started seeing the health reviews and the inundation of commercials from "The Souper Salad Guy". The last time we went. It was pretty subpar as far as freshness and service. Soups looked leftover, or at least in need of a stir! Srsly! If you advertise as fresh and healthy, be fresh and healthy! read more

Great place to grab lunch. Lots of options and fresh ingredients on the salad bar and soups and pasta choices as well. Not to mention the angel food cake for dessert rocks! This is the kind of place you can choose to eat healthy or indulge on the hearty side as well. Really clean on the inside and the staff was professional as well. read more
