a hand holding a bowl of fruit and oatmeal

Food: acai bowl wasn't what I'm accustomed too. I prefer açaís that has a harder base more like a sorbet not runny and very liquidy! The acai was good but not great! Service: girl who took over was nice what you expect in a college town just college students getting by nothing great Ambiance: skip not a great place to hang out IMO

Dessert Bowl

I had always wanted to taste an açaí bowl, and I decided since I'd be close to Vitality Bowls to give them a try. They definitely set the bar super high. I'm a chocolate fanatic so I decided to go with the Dessert bowl, there weren't any other bowls that stuck out to me that much. I was nervous it was going to be weird tasting or bitter, but that is not an issue at all. The mix was not too sweet but sweet enough to carry the bowl. The banana mixed with the chocolate chips added the sweetness I sought, and the strawberries added a hint of vibrancy and tartness to tie the entire bowl together. If I am ever out here again I will definitely be giving Vitality Bowls a visit! Definite recommend

Dragon Bowl

The staff was super helpful and took their time with me since it was my first time there. The dragon bowl was delicious!

Panini with a bite missing!

Never had a vitality bowl before but it sounded like a healthy lunch. Store was clean and staff was helpful. I ordered takeout. A warrior bowl and panini. I didn't realize the base is pretty much a thick smoothie of most of the ingredients. Consistency of soft serve ice cream with fruit and oat topping. It was unusually cold that day and the dish made me even colder! The panini was good, although it's just wheat bread in a panini press. I would visit again in hot weather!

The Rehydrator Juice

This place has a ton of fresh options available. I got the vitality wrap with chicken and the rehydrator juice. I was very surprised at how much flavor the wrap actually had. The place has a unique set up great customer service.

I've ordered from this place twice. Pretty expensive I will say, but the bowls are pretty good. My first time ordering I went in and had to wait about 20-25 minutes which is a pretty long time for a smoothie bowl. My second time, I ordered online in advance so I wouldn't have to wait as long. Ordered it at 3:30 told me to pick up at 4:05. I came at 4, paid for my food and the lady told me wait a sec. A second turned to a 35 minute wait and seeing orders placed after mine being given out. I asked another person at the cash register how long it would take for my order to be ready and she said that they couldn't find my order in the system. The same lady who took my payment for the order said that they would make it right now but then turns out that it was in the freezer the whole time.. and the people I was talking to me with an attitude in their voice the whole time. And I am a server and handle with guests all the time and know what good service is. So in conclusion food is okay but just a little pricy, customer service and time.... don't even bother. Also was told it was in the freezer but was handed it completely melted.

Tropical Bowl

Went here for breakfast after sunrise cycle, and not surprisingly my friend and I were the only people there at 7am. I ordered the tropical bowl and thought it was great! It was really fresh and had a great taste. I chose to add whey protein to my bowl, which was 50 cents extra. The person working there was very helpful and even gave us complimentary chocolate chips to add on top of our bowls. I really liked this place and will definitely be back to try other flavors!!

I've been craving açai bowls since moving to lubbock and was super excited when I saw this place on yelp. We happened to spot it today while out and about and decided to try it. The people there were friendly and they had a wide variety of food and drink options. Ambiance was nice, and it was calm and quietwhen we were here at 3pm, and best of all, not overly air conditioned (important when eating half frozen food...)! We got the tropical açai bowl and açai elixir smoothie. The açai bowl had good volume, with a generous amount of granola and fruit toppings. The smoothie was one size - 20oz, advertised as no ice, added sugar, or fillers, which is great. They have paninis, salads, and dessert options too, which I definitely want to try out sometime. It's on the other end of lubbock for us, but will definitely come back again :) if you want to take a break from bbq and steaks, I highly recommend checking this place out!

The food was great! First time there and really enjoyed it! A little pricey but not bad for what you get!

Quick service. I had a chick sandwich and it was perfect. My son had a bowl and he devoured it.

Delicious salads! Nice to see a healthy spot open up in Lubbock. I'll be back to try an açaí bowl in the future.

The staff was friendly and moved quickly even with a line on Friday morning. Prairie dog mounds exist on two sides of the building, so it's fun to see them. They are shy, so don't walk to them, but bring and throw some baby carrots out for them! The outdoor patio is huge with a beautiful view of the water and greenery. Parking is all dirt and gravel. If you need a drink to-go, make sure you tell them when ordering because they serve drinks in cute, non-disposable latte cups. I only gave 4 stars because the latte was delicious, but not sure it was the strongest. The He-Brews signature latte is delicious!

He-Brews was the first local coffee shop I ever went to in Lubbock. During my freshman year, my…read morefriend was visiting Tech, and I went with him, my sister, and my at-the-time girlfriend who was visiting with them. I liked how secluded He-Brews was from the rest of Lubbock, right in the heart of prairie dog town. It's hard to get distracted from studying if the only thing around you is dirt. I've been to He-Brews a handful of times since then, having nice conversations with a friend over coffee, getting some studying in when I needed a change of scenery, or last week when I decided to revisit He-Brews while in town. I think the space is cute and cozy. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. This time I ordered their Lavender Haze, a lavender and honey macchiato. I thought it was a little too milky compared to the espresso, and it lacked much nuance. It was fine and I finished it, but it really wasn't special. They also have a Christian radio station, KWBF, under the same roof. I have never once seen the station's broadcasters inside the studio while I'm in there, but it is cool to have it in one place. Because of this, you may hear Christian Contemporary Music playing inside He-Brews, which I don't think is inherently wrong, but it is maybe the worst non-secular music to exist, so be prepared with headphones to hear literally anything else. If the macchiato you order is inspiring you to go deeper in your faith, I'd recommend checking out Numero's Good God! Apocryphal Hymns for some much needed fellowship that actually has something to say past the three minute mark. I am not really sure why He-Brews needs to be so strongly associated with its religious method. Nothing about coffee is inherently Christian, but a lot of people deep in faith love to open a cafe. I really don't think opening a coffee shop as a Christian is even a bad thing. I think providing a place of comfort is a great mission to have as a follower of Christ. It's just that they don't advertise any fellowship or promote any charitable concepts. Instead, they have a WiFi password of John 3:16 and say they are inspiring growth. I want to buy it. I want to believe in it, but it all feels surface level. As I left, I noticed the massive load of campaign yard signs outside their building. Nothing says following Jesus Christ quite like endorsing candidates. It's like they realized how good a pun of He-Brews would be and everything else is just trying to make the name work. Maybe that's just me though. RIYL: God's favorite latte
