I really like this McAlister's location! The service here is always really courteous and efficient. I stop in a few times a month to grab lunch while at work. Since it is close to TCU, it can get crowded during peak hours, so I usually order online and take my food to go. The menu has a ton of options and the prices are pretty reasonable. We ordered 4 items from UberEats for the McAlisters/TCU location. After paying UberEats, I noticed that one of the items was missing on the order. I called McAlisters directly to see if they could help us get the additional item added to the order. Declan to the rescue! He was exceptionally courteous and helpful and walked me through what to do to get the additional item added. When we received the order, there was a handwritten note in the bag from Declan saying: "Hi Linda, we (not I) made sure your second Savannah salad was put in the bag. Enjoy your meals! -Declan How thoughtful and kind of him to go to the trouble to write a note. I am so impressed with him and this McAlisters location. read more

First time going to McAlisters was in Mansfield and they got my order completely wrong. I decided to get a BLT from this location. One for myself and one for my daughter. Well let's say my daughter enjoyed a well toasted sandwich while I on the other hand get this soggy piece of crap. McAlister's is not usually a place where I think about going for food, but anytime someone else suggests it, I enjoy the food I order. From spuds to sandwiches to soups to salads, you will enjoy your meal. I'm not sure why but each time I eat here I am surprised how much I like the food. On my most recent visit, I ordered a cup of the crab and corn chowder. It was delicious! It was late, so the cup was the perfect portion, but my heart definitely wanted the bowl portion. I would come back really soon just for this chowder. And it wasn't as high in calories compared to other chowders. My partner ordered the sweet chipotle chicken sandwich with fruit. The sauce was addictive and really made the sandwich. I noticed that the condiment container near the sodas didn't have any crackers like they used to. Not sure if they changed the location or just didn't have time to restock. I do miss the buttery crackers instead of plain saltines. I've enjoyed the sweet tea here but after I learned the sugar content, I try to stay away. That being said, if you're a sweet tea lover, this is the place to go. Overall, Mcalister's is a solid deli place near TCU. There is always plenty of table space for large groups or studying. read more

Good lunch place! Love the BLT w/ Avocado! Staff was super helpful when I accidentally ordered to be picked up at a different location!

I came to this location a few days ago for a salad and a club sandwich with avocado. I usually never have a problem with my order but when i went and got my food the sandwich was sloppily made and the avocado was falling out. The salad had big chunks of lettuce that i had to cut up myself. This location was also really empty, i wonder why. read more

Stopped in for lunch today at this near TCU branch. Parking a bit of a pain. You will be lucky to get spot on street (University) in front of Deli. Make sure to pay for parking there and leave receipt on dash. Tickets are swiftly meted out for cars without parking receipt. Interior is decorated in TCU themes as you would expect. Students frequent this establishment, and other than my daughter and I, this was the crowd at 2 on Friday. Maybe about 1/4 full, so service was speedy You stand in line to place your order. Menu boards along back wall to select what you want, but for us older folks, print is extremely small. I opted for McAlister Club sandwich, while my daughter got the Cobb Club sandwich. Sandwich and salad fare is the norm here. You get a side with the sandwich, so we opted for the mustard based classic potato salad. They advertise their "sweet tea" so we went with that. You are given your beverage or beverage glasses (if you are going soda route), and a number you display at table. Food run out when ready. Would estimate ours was ready in about 5 minutes, GREAT but expected as place was not crowded. My club was good, just good. Nothing unusual and tasted a bit like it was pre-prepared and pulled from refrig, not made fresh. Potato salad was also good. Sweet Tea, comes in large glass they will re-fill for you was REALLY GOOD, not too sweet as some places are. Really refreshing. Our 2 sandwiches and teas ran $20, so not bad, but not a cheap eats. I'd go back if I was in area, but given parking hassle, not a great alternative unless you are walking. Service was friendly. read more

This was a favorite lunch spot for me all through college! The southwest turkey melt is amazing, and the chocolate chip cookies are chewy and delicious. Now, I will say that I have one major issue with this place - the pickle they put on every plate! As a pickle hater, I would sometimes forget to ask for no pickle, and the juice would run into my sandwich, which was just gross. People either love or hate pickles, and for my fellow pickle haters, it's surprising to me that they would just assume everyone is ok with pickles. My husband used to come here at least two times a week, but then they did away with the Cuban Melt so now he only goes once every few months. Overall, I prefer Panera's food, (hence the four star review, not five) but would often choose Mcalisters for convenience since it was a lot closer! read more

The food is always okay but the management is very rude - not only to customers but also visibly to employees. I have visited this McAlisters a couple of times and every time there is this blonde lady manager I know I will have a bad experience. She has no greetings and just asks "what do you want?" with an attitude. She also yells at employees and makes the restaurant have a hostile environment. Know this going in: McAlister's was found out pretty much immediately by the TCU lunch crowd, and as that idea became reality, the staff pretty much has to crank their smiles into overdrive and handle the hustle of the noontime rush. They seem eager to address it, and that's a good thing, cause when I was in here recently everything was Eastern European snug -- the tables are tight, the staff weaving within, like extra family over for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm saying it can get a little claustrophobic, but that they handle it with cheer. Certainly beats the alternative. That said, my party of three got seated straightaway and our order was correct, always a concern of mine when ordering in a hyper-frenetic environment. I brought the grilled chicken to bear if you were wondering, a melange of chicken breast, hney mustard, lettuce and tomato that suited me fine. I'd be curious to head back over when the lines aren't long, the pace less hummingbird. But then again, maybe that's just the pulse of this spot. Time will tell. read more

One of my usual campus haunts lol.... There are a variety of sandwiches to choose from, and they're always delicious! My personally fave is the Chipotle Chicken! Service is always prompt and friendly. My only complaint is the Mac and Cheese quality isn't always consistent, but it's still a great restaurant. read more

Within TCU campus area they offer a variety of menu options. Portions are ample but prices are a bit high although service and quality are excellent. Soups and sandwiches are very good as are the salads. This trip I had a veggie stuffed baked potato which was huge - more than twice the size of a regular potato. Been here a few times while visiting TCU and the place is always loaded with students at lunch, which can make finding a place to sit a challenge (and finding a parking spot where it's free). However, the service has always been good and the food tastes like it does at every McAlister's. It's much better than Subway! read more

I love Mcalisters! I always go to the one located in North Richland HIlls, TX but this location is closer to my house. I went yesterday just because Fuzzy Tacos was closed due to construction. Now the location is right across from TCU so TCU students can just walk to this place. However, for visitors, there is no parking available. The bookstore parking lot is right behind McCalisters and well I decided to park there even though it said "Bookstore Parking Only, TOWING WILL BE ENFORCED." I went inside and it was packed! This was around 5:30 pm and the restaurant is pretty small. It looked Iike there was no where to sit. I asked one of the cashiers if it was ok to park by the bookstore and she said no. I asked her for a recommendation on where to park and she couldn't tell me one so, I left. Didn't even bother to eat. I was not going to risk it and get my car towed. So I don't think I will be coming here again. I would just go to the one in NRH when I am in the area. read more
