Chick Melt with potato soup and red velvet cake.
    Stephanie S.

The potato bits in the soup were a tad underdone and needed some pepper otherwise quite lovely and warm. Service was super fast. The place had only 2 other patrons at 3pm so it was quiet. The only thing that was not great was the staff vacuuming the carpets while patrons were eating. The dust that blows up from vacuums is awful....maybe keep that to an empty dining room.

Basic chicken salad sandwich, chips and complementary cookie for $9.

Chicken Salad Chick is one venue that I crave, in that what it provides is quite simple- chicken salad, soup, and assortment of other sandwiches at reasonable prices. The chicken salad isn't overloaded with condiments such as mayonnaise or other preservatives- they do a good job in mixing all of the ingredients in. A good-sized sandwich, chips, and complimentary cookie w/o a drink (I had coffee in the car) will run you about $9. I took my time as an eat-in guest, and enjoyed the people watching hobby from my table that took place in close proximity to Montgomery Plaza across the street. A good place to enjoy a bite that isn't too filling at all. Don't forget to tip the cashier, as they are also the server as well.

Omg sooo good. I honestly just guessed what I might like. The crossisant kickin Kay lynnne chicken Salad is what I picked. I was surprised I even got a extra pickle & cookie. Food is priced fair & they brought it to me quickly. I even asked for some hot sauce. They brought me Siracha Tabasco hot sauce it was sooo amazing. I had a ice cold sweet tea on the side. Highly recommend going here. I'm definitely a new customer. Daisy assisted me & I was also greeted by manager too he was really nice this is a must try!

This is a great lunch spot if you're in the mood for chicken salad. While I would say that you can personally make better chicken salad or buy it at Whole Foods, nobody has the array of flavors that this place has and they're good. The employees are very knowledgeable and I was even able to score a free scoop of chicken salad with a magazine I found in the bathroom. Talk about luck. It's a very casual theme, some come as you please. Check it out!

I always get great customer service at this location. It's always clean, fresh food, and ambiance is warm and friendly.

Chicken salad is good, varieties are good, facilities are clean and staff is nice but this fruit salad was old and nasty. I know it looks pretty but fruit was slimy and old. Ruined my lunch.

Cute little sugar cookie comes with every order.

I'm definitely a big fan of chicken salad. I never ate it growing up but now I find myself craving it often. It's always refreshing and filling! Maybe it's not the healthiest choice but it somehow SEEMS healthy, haha. I'm happy to have Chicken Salad Chick locations around which have so many delicious (and lots of gluten free) options. My favorite items are as follows: Fancy Nancy: CS with Fuji apples, grapes, and pecans. The fruit is tart and adds a great crunch. Lauryn's Lemon Basil: CS with pecans, basil, and lemon. Accurately described on the menu as their "brightest flavor." Spicy Pimento: YUM. Pepper jack and sharp cheddar cheese with jalapeño. I looooove pimento cheese you guys! I like to order the three scoop meal (just on lettuce, no bread) and then eat it with my own gluten free crackers or chips. Next time I visit I want to order the Grape Salad.. it sounds so good! All of their salads sound great so I'll have to start branching out.

Olivia's old south (5/5), Kickin Kay Lynne (6/5) and seasonal side salad (5/5).

Great, fresh, flavorful chicken salad. What more do you want? I got a scoop of Kickin Kay Lynne, Olivia's Old South and a side seasonal salad. It's easy to get a heavy hand with the mayo when making chicken salad. Not here. Everything is perfectly balanced and very flavorful. The Kickin Kay Lynne has just the right amount of heat. And the Sriracha and Jalapeño hit you on different parts of the tongue which makes for a great bite. I think this was my favorite. The Olivia's old south had distinct flavors of both dill pickle and egg. Again perfectly seasoned and delicious! The side salad was also a hit. It was packed full of apples, berries and nuts. The poppyseed dressing (not the creamy mayo based kind which was a welcome break) was delicious. I would definitely get this salad again. When you have chicken salad in your name you better do it well and they do here. I love good chicken salad and I will definitely be back! This place has great ambiance and a friendly staff. I saw a few of the sandwiches from those around me and they look excellent. I may try one of those next time. BLT I have my eye on you!

Salad trio, two Chicken Salad choices and pimento cheese. The trio comes with crackers and a cookie.

Delicious lunch today at Chicken Salad Chick! So many choices... it was hard to decide! I got a salad trio but they offer chips, sandwiches, and soups too!

Well, I can't post a photo of the sandwiches we had as we ate them too fast, but I *can* say that anyone who likes chicken salad should definitely come try something here! We had the Olivia's Old South variety of chicken salad on croissants with lettuce and tomato. Each came with a pickle spear, a side, and a delicious little cookie. My husband chose an extra scoop of spicy pimento cheese salad and I chose pasta salad. The pasta salad was wonderfully Mediterranean, with Greek olive and artichoke pieces. The spicy pimento cheese was VERY salty, and a young lady who works here told us that it's due to the picked jalapeños. The pickle spears were perfectly tangy and sour, and the vanilla cookie was so soft and flavorful that I wish I had a while box of them at home! Also noteworthy is the Pina Colada Pie. I will be back here very soon!

Went for the biscuits, but our very wise waitress, Adriana, warned us that the biscuits were made with lard. Well that knocked out a bunch or breakfast options. She was so sweet and actually went to the kitchen and marked the menu pointing out lard-free menu choices. On the menu. Using black ink dots. Above and beyond. So we regrouped our breakfast plans and went mainly vegetarian. The Herbivore was absolutely delicious! Antebellum cheese grits topped with garlicky kale, romanesco and a soft boiled egg. We added a second egg. Split with my hubby. So good!! My sister-in-law had the brioche French toast. French toast topped with honey better, fresh berries and pecan granola. Served with maple syrup. Amazing! Added the duck fat breakfast potatoes. Who knew that the flavor would be so enhanced with the onions, peppers and duck fat. Get this side! Not a coffee drinker, but my hubby really enjoyed the coffee that is sourced from Cusco, Peru. Adriana made sure that the cups were always full and hot. Thank you for the VIP service at Fixe Southern House. Resident discount applied. Born from Opelousas, Louisiana, breakfast served with a huge helping of southern hospitality. We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.

They are located on a corner and parking is limited. I found street parking on the side street, about a block down in front of a house. We walked inside Gus's about 11:30 am on a Wednesday. They were busy' but had a number of open tables. There are mostly square and rectangular 4-top tables. We chose one by the front windows. A moment after we sat down, our server, Joe K came by to greet us and he took our drink order. Menu's are at the table, so we studied a bit and were ready for Joe when he brought our drinks. I ordered: - Unsweetened Iced Tea - 3 Piece Dark Chicken Plate (my choice: leg, leg, thigh) with Greens and BBQ Beans My wife ordered: 2 Piece White Chicken Plate (breast, wing) with Mac-Cheese and BBQ Beans The chicken was the star for sure. The BBQ Beans weren't special but were decent. The Greens, decent. With each meal plate, the chicken is served on a slice of white bread. The chicken was fried to a deep brown and was real tasty. My dark meat was juicy and tender. My wife's white meat was drier but normal for white meat. My wife's felt the chicken skin was maybe overcooked as it was tough. It was fine to me. I ate her skin :) We'll be back to Gus's!

I came here today a little after 5pm and did not get a greeting like everyone else did when I walked into the door. They were pretty busy with to go orders around this time. There is an entrance area where you order and pay for your food and a separate area for dining in. I ordered a catfish fillet with Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes and fried shrimp basket with fries and greens to go. I ordered at 5:15 and got my food at 5:45 and let me tell you, it was the longest wait of my life. I think the A/C must've been broken because it was hot in the waiting area and it didn't help that one of the front desk girls kept complaining about them still being open for another hour. There were a bunch of flies everywhere and the front area doesn't seem to be cleaned throughout the day. I also feel for the woman who puts the plates together because she's doing it by herself and was constantly asking the front desk girls to bag the orders. She stayed calm though and still greeted people as they were coming in. Now for the food. The shrimp basket was $25.99 and the catfish was $19.99. The shrimp was good, kids approved. The catfish was good too. All the food was made fresh to order so I can appreciate that for quality. Onto the sides. I think the French fries were accidentally season with sugar instead of salt. The greens were ok, just drenched with garlic. The Mac n cheese, ehhh. I was looking forward to the Mac n cheese but it wasn't as cheesy as I was expecting but tasted ok. The sweet potatoes were really good, probably my favorite side out of the four. The cornbread was moist and good. Overall, food was good but definitely overpriced. However, I do support small businesses but still think it's a bit overpriced based on portion size. They do require you pay for your food before you sit down if you are dining in. This may be because of too many incidents where people dine and dash. I do think that the lady behind the counter putting the plates together needs better help. No offense to the young girls they have working there but either train them or get someone who can actually do the job. If you are looking for true southern food, this ain't it. Texas food vs. southern food are 2 completely different things which I am learning the hard way now having lived here for a year.
