    the receipt for the restaurant

Ok...wow. Super expensive, food was horrible, service and overall experience was bad. I ordered essentially a "Dagwood" sandwich, ya know Ham, Turkey, bacon dressed with lettuce, tomato, onions mayo and a side salad (from salad bar) and an ice Tea. My sister had the Beef Eater with AU Jus. A group of boys (about 8-10, age 9-12 yrs old) entered right behind us. Loud, rambunctious and the manager warned them to "settled down". These boys were a bit vulgar, throwing things and obviously not a parent in sight. The manager would eventually make them leave...after yelling and chasing them out. A complete mess was left and it was apparent these kids had been here before. Manager yelling doesn't solve anything. He could and should have handled things differently though as the whole situation was chaotic. Here's my gripe...ear buds in and all is forgiven if the food is good and service hospitable. $52.25-never again.

We came in at 8:45 to grab a quick sandwich and salad. From start to finish we we're definitely made to feel like we were completely an inconvenience for coming in. Looked like it was closed but checked the door and It was a hour and 15 minutes before they closed and no customers were inside. workers looked like they were already closing down the store . Took a bit for the cashier to get down from her step stool to even take our order and definitely seemed put out by doing so. It was Super weird vibes the entire time. Change your hours or get people who actually want to work.

Since when did Jason's Deli start serving Kraft Mac and cheese? Worst mac and cheese I have ever had.

    Caterpillar

I got the club royale and I had eaten one half of the sandwhich, when I got to my second half.... Their was a live caterpillar. Called and spoke with the Manager who told me that their greens are organic, they come in a plastic bag that has holes so bugs can crawl in sometimes. She did apologize but Still. This has happened their before. I just want to make everyone aware. Watch out for the greens because apparently they don't wash them very well.

You know how sometimes you just crave a really good salad.... but you don't want to go all the way to the grocery store and purchase everything and then go all the way back home and chop the veggies, spin the greens, shred the cheese, boil the eggs, shell the peas, slice the meats, bake the croutons and then whip up the fresh ranch (or whatever flavor) dressing? Do you know that feeling? Well, when I have a hankering for a really good fresh salad I head over to my neighborhood Jason's Deli and they never disappoint. This particular location has a great selection of delis, sandwiches, soups and huge assortment of salad fixings to choose from. They even have special cornbread muffins (so good with the broccoli &cheese soup) to add to your eating experience. Today I noticed that Jason's was established in 1976 (the same year as our Country's Bi-Centennial) in Beaumont, Texas by Joe Tortorice Jr. and his partners Rusty Coco, Pete Verde and Pat Broussard. somehow knowing it's a Texas based organization makes me like them even more! The deli is always clean, the food is fresh and the staff are very polite and always ready to lend a hand when needed. Oh my word, I haven't mentioned the ginger bread muffins. They Are The Best!!!! I save mine for my dessert. Toss then in a bowl and add a bit of soft serve vanilla ice cream on top....now, that's some good eating! Now here is my special Foodie Tid-Bit..when I am about ready to leave the restaurant I casually circle by the salad bar and snag one more gingerbread to nibble on as I leave....its Tradition! Jason's Deli receives three stars Happy Eating Y'all!

I love love love the California Club Sandwich. And instead of getting chips I get the fruit and yogurt dip it is so delicious. From the flaky crispy croissant to the perfectly sliced turkey and the bacon is always crispy! I have ordered this on my last five visits. I use to order the brisket potato but now I don't even dare to think of it lol.

Normally, I don't consider people from St. Louis to be credible deli evaluators, but I was desperate and made the hour drive to Grapevine. We got there at 11:15 and the line was nearly to the door. Within 30 minutes, it was well out into the street. That was a promising sign. The sandwich menu covered the entire wall over the counter. Lots of non-New-York sandwiches like Cubans, gyros, etc, but over in the left corner were the classic Ruebens and pastramis. I went for the latter. A REAL NY deli usually has a few soups like split pea and chicken noodle and matzoh. No soups. Bummer. They had a half dozen sides - 3 kinds of potato salads and a few slaws. I went with the German potato salad. The drink option was spartan - they tossed a styrofoam cup at me and pointed to the soda fountain. The pastrami sandwich was OK for Texas. A SUPER pastrami sandwich on hard rye can get me moaning like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally" -- only I don't have to fake it. The German potato salad was watery and bland - I should have gone with the mustard potato salad. Turnaround was on the slow side. Napkins = paper towel roll on table. Flimsy plasticware. The overall vibe was affordable utilitarian. I'll give the sandwich a 4, everything else a 3. Next time I'll drive the extra half hour to Cindi's.

The oldest sub shop in Texas is not a title you stumble into, and one visit makes it clear they've earned it. First, the parking situation, because someone has to say it. The spots up front are scarce and competitive. Don't give up, there's additional parking in the back with its own entrance. File that away before you go, or you'll spend ten minutes circling a strip that has not gotten larger since the 1970s. And speaking of the 1970s, the interior leans fully into its vintage identity. Small, dark, and unapologetically retro, it feels like a sub shop that missed the memo on modern restaurant design and decided it didn't care. Honestly, respect. Now, the subs. Galligaskin's cuts their own meat and cheese in house and bakes their rolls fresh daily, which is the kind of thing that sounds like marketing until you take a bite and realize it actually matters. The roast beef and cheese, loaded with toppings, is a proper sandwich. The house-made Galli Oil and pickled pepper finish that goes on every sub is the secret weapon - not spicy, just deeply flavorful, the thing that makes each bite a little better than the last. We also tried the burger, which came as a genuine surprise. A sub shop doing a burger well feels like it shouldn't work, but here we are, soft bun, flavorful patty, no notes. For sides, the Tater Tots are the undisputed champion of the table. Crispy shell, fluffy interior, the ideal tot. The fried okra was a strong runner-up, well breaded and served with ranch. The French fries, however, were a swing and a miss. They looked the part, golden, fresh cut, promising - and then arrived soggy. A limp fry is a tragedy in any zip code, and these were no exception. No one wants a sad potato. Order the tots. Skip the fries. You've been warned. Galligaskin's in the real deal, a Fort Worth original that's still earning its reputation one fresh-baked roll at a time. One last night: they're closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly. A cruel fact to discover in the parking lot.

The meat was ok but overall the sandwich was TOO DRY. The relish they added on the sandwich was supposed to combat this issue but it didn't help. I really think they need to add some more sauce on the bread before adding the meat... maybe some honey mustard? I have tried Galligaskin's twice and both times the sandwich was too dry for my liking.
