Today, I ordered directly through the Jersey Mike's app for delivery. I did not get my order. When I called the store, the guy who said he was a manager said I had to call DoorDash. I asked if he had the phone number and he said, "Not really". I asked him what that meant. He asked me to hold and came back and said he did not have the number. He did not offer any more help even though it was not my choice to go through DoorDash, and my food was obviously stolen. I told him he was unprofessional and unhelpful. He still offered no help. I enjoy the sandwiches and I go at least twice a month, however my last visit inside I observed the young lady was gloved up and wiped the counter down she proceeded to slice the meat handle the bread and then proceeded to wipe down the meat slicer with a wet cloth . While ordinarily I would be elated she was keeping the work surface and equipment clean but she went from one thing to another and back to preparing food and never changed gloves . As a mother of twins and a college student, sometimes you don't feel like cooking or loading everyone up to go out, so you keep it simple. You can make any sub as a salad. That's what I usually do. I opt for the #9 Club Supreme on wheat- roast beef, turkey, Swiss, Mike's Way... but this is key- LIGHT oil n vinegar- they train them to make the river flow- so trust me on this. And light Italian spices, again, truuust me. Nobody wants a salt/vinegar bomb exploding around that freshly sliced meat. The roast beef is cooked entirely in house, from scratch. Take note, Subway. Ok, back to the recipe. Mike's Way, Light O n V, and light spice, mayo, cherry pepper relish, bacon and banana peppers. Boom. I'm tellin ya, it's legit. Throw in some Baked Lays and a Mug Root Beer and you've reached the next level. Also, this location is far superior to the Camp Bowie one... all for a simple reason: Tomatoes. Their tomatoes at Hulen are so red and ripe and fresh and just perfect in every aspect. So, I just started going to Jersey Mike's recently, and I must say, I have been impressed. I've been really turned off by other sandwiches at places like Subway (which is tolerable, but meh), Jimmy Johns, and Firehouse (both of the latter being slack, bland and boring). I wanted a cheesesteak one day and said "screw it" and tried Jersey Mike's. It was pretty damn decent. It's not gonna pass for the real deal in philly, but all things considered, it was pretty good. Gone back a few times now for their cold subs and they're great. The club supreme, all the way on the rosemary wheat bread is damn good. This location always looks clean, the people working there are friendly and orders come and go at a quick clip. My only real wish is that they delivered. Ordered the No. 17 Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. The cheese wasn't even visible. I guess they put such a small amount that it disintegrated with the meat. The meat is frozen and of low-quality. I watched him slap my rock hard, thin, frozen meat onto the grill. During the course of eating my sandwich, there was gristle that I had to spit out twice. It is very unappetizing, just like biting into eggshell in your egg. The service was very friendly and quick, as there were only two other customers in here during lunchtime. I would never order this item again. The other let down was the lemons for tea and water. They were all dried up and one of them had mold on it. This is the absolute worst Jersey Mike's I have been to!!!! I placed a order well before I left, got there right on time and it still isn't ready! They are getting orders that are there ordering done before online. You order online to be fast because you need to go to work or have things to do. It is a bit chilly inside, but the subs are worth it. Staff was polite, there was a line but the wait isn't long at all.
