But since Covid, they've streamlined it, and I have to say, what the heck have I been doing not coming here? This place is absolutely great. You get to pick all of your favorite things off a check the box menu, and your food goes over that wonderful steel wok. You have all fresh vegetables, and meats, and spices that you chose. And it is a super huge portion that just comes steaming to your table. White or fried rice, or both. So fresh. I really don't know why I haven't been back here since before Covid, but I certainly will be patronizing moving forward. This place is just great. It gets a super wow! read more

We were excited to find a Mongolian BBQ Restaurant so close to our house. As others have noted, it is not the traditional Mongolian Barbecue where you grab a bowl and select your own ingredients. I believe because of COVID they have modified it - you select your ingredients from a list. I give them credit, because the list is very comprehensive and there is no limit on some items, such as vegetables. They charge extra if you want lamb, so I chose beef and shrimp. The beef was ok and the shrimp were yummy. At previous Mongolian Restaurants I have gone to, the meal included an Egg Roll. At MB they charge extra, but the price is reasonable for 4 Egg Rolls. I was a bit disappointed with the egg rolls because the veggies were over cooked and not crunchy, but they had good flavor and the dipping sauce was tasty. I must confess that I hate paper plates and styrofoam plates. It is just my little idiosyncrasy. Unfortunately they serve their food on those divided styrofoam plates. I missed the ceramic bowls that we used to get at other Mongolian Restaurants before COVID. The service was very prompt and attentive. Our meals arrived quickly. The portions are huge - you get great value for your money. They have a nice patio that would be enjoyable in warm weather and it is dog friendly! read more

I thought this place was great. I took my family member as part of their birthday festivities. We were seated right away. I thought this place is really spacious with a lot of seating options. I loved the Chinese hororscopes as it has been a while since I read up on the different ones but really enjoyed this. The waiting staff was very attentive and took our orders promptly. I loved the personlization and way of customizing one's order. The food was piping hot and the portions very generous. Plus we went ahead and ordered some of their drinks. I enjoyed everything that I ate, and since it's so close would definitely come back again. I ordered a large not knowing what the sizing would look like but next time I know I can definitely ordered a small, I ordered a chicken bowl with various veggies including pineapple and terriyaki sauce. I like that we were able to order three sauces to try. We also ordered the sampler combo, the motherload of all appetizers so to say the least there was a food abundance. My co worker and I were looking for a place to eat that had good rice...I can eat fried rice everyday. We were in sparks when I yelped and MB Grill came up. I had been to a Mongolian restaurant over a month ago and was definitely looking forward to try another place again. As soon as you walk in you're greeted and seated immediately. There was only one waitress ...she was the real MVP there. She handled all of us accordingly. You can choose unlimited ingredients. I chose rice, noodles, chicken, shrimp, bacon, eggs, onions, sprouts, broccoli and a Spicy sauce. It only took about 5-10'minutes to get our plate. It was huge. I did not eat everything and had to ask for a to go box. Everything was cooked and prepared to perfection. I really like how the bacon gave the mea a Smokey flavor. What I really would have wanted to add were peanuts. The Mongolian barbecue place I had tried prior allowed peanuts and it gave it a nice flavor to it. Just my liking. After almost an hour search for a spot to have dinner a friend of mine recommended the MB Grill. Not only was the food good but the portion sizes were dope. You get to build your own plate and I went crazy on the ingredients and meat choices. They are not stingy with the food or seasonings at all! My friend and I were attended to very well by the staff and the wait for the food was very minimal. I would consider this spot a nice quick eats, but you can do more of a restaurant dining style if you'd like. Overall, great experience and great food. Invited by a close friend of mine for lunch this afternoon at MB Grill. Back in the day this restaurant was a chain Mangolian bbq spot! Since then I have not visited until now. Clean location, very busy during lunch hour, seated immediately. Menu was pretty self explanatory and I can appreciate that. Drink order was prompt and our paper menu was taken from us immediately after we set our pens down. Ordered one large plate and a small plate for myself. We got a mix from shrimp to beef to short ribs. We added all veggies and also did get an appetizer which was some sort of pork dumplings. Nice little place with an open kitchen which I highly appreciate. I also did order a Thai tea which was pretty good but not strong enough for me. These comments are about the Beef Ribs Dinner. These are Kalbi style cut, thin (a nice idea). The meat was like rubber. There was a large part fat that was not cooked enough to suit (melt out some of) the fat or to breakdown the connective tissue. I left a small pile of 'cant chew' material. Also worth a mention, if you go for the first time, is translating your order. The server will probably show you a bowl. What she told us is that the Meat & Vegs go into the bowl (as a measure) but the rice & noodles are 'on the side'. Thats great and nice to know. Fine except that I ordered only onions with the rubber meat and the plate was a pile of onions and some ribs but significantly and noticeably less than my partner's plate with loads of veggies ALSO. This place used to be great. Nice amount of meat and good flavor. We ordered 2 days ago and not only were their portions 1/3rd smaller but there were 2 pieces of shrimp and 5 chicken pieces cut so small in my order that you could hardly taste it. Others who had ordered other protein as part of their meal was the same small amount of meat. We usually order several portions when our friends and family come over. This time we regretted it. It had been a really long time since we'd been to MB Grill, and so yes, with the pandemic, the approach has changed. Now, you fill in a form that tells the chef what veggies & proteins and sauce you wish for your stir fry. My kids were excited to pick their own items and veggies, this was new to them! The stall was lovely and attentive, and the dining room was clean but seemed to only have a few patrons. I don't believe this was any reflection on the food or service, but rather, like us...perhaps people don't realize they are still open with a different twist on grilled bowls, or maybe its that the lure of AYCE isn't obvious, and YES, that IS still an option! One thing that really impressed me is it seems the prices haven't changed in years!!! I guess my only drawback was that is seemed like 3 out of the 4 plates had at least some erroneous items in them? Like, all the orders were just slightly mixed together. Maybe that wasn't an issue for us, it was OK...but for allergy requirements or simple preferences, it could be off-putting to other guests. My first time back "post" pandemic and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. Lots of changes have been put in place since my last visit. First, you order by choosing your desired ingredients by checking them off on a piece of paper. This is kind of a bummer since you no longer have the opportunity to dictate the portion sizes of each ingredient. Understandable though, so I'm not mad about it. Secondly, they serve your "bowls" on a styrofoam plate along with a plastic fork. I don't love this as it's not environmentally friendly. The service was excellent. Ok so this was my first time in here. It is a cute little place and the guy out front helped me right away which was great. He didn't really smile but maybe he is just that way. The decor is lovely and it wasn't crowded which is nice. I got to pick what I wanted in my meal which was great as I had fun picking from their selection. The food was also done very quickly not a long wait. So I chose beef spare ribs, mild spicy,with Korean sauce, egg, cabbage, mushrooms, bell peppper, onion, baby corn, celery, bamboo shoots, and bean sprouts. I asked for a small bowl with fried rice and white rice on the side. This was a huge amount of food for what is called a small bowl. I wonder how much a medium bowl is? This was very saucy which I like and it was mild spicy depending on your tolerance. The spareribs were a little tough !nd there was not a huge amount of flavor. I still enjoyed it though. I also got the appetizer combo which had fried breaded shrimp, cream cheese won tons, egg rolls, sesame balls, and sweet donuts with dipping sauce. This was very beautifully presented but also needed a little more flavor. All in all I give this place a three and a half to four because it is beautifully presented and yummy but just needs some oomph. read more

We used to frequent this place pre-COVID, and did the take-outs during the shut down. Went here for a late lunch today. Suprised to find they have eliminated some items on the menu and raised their prices. In addition, the appetizers are no longer included in the bowl price, and are now being charged individually. I can understand the price increase and decrease in available items, but people weren't expecting to be charged for appetizers. I witnessed a table of 5 walked out because they weren't happy with the changes. I had a mix of pork, beef and beef short ribs over noodles, and my other half had shrimp, crab and tofu. There were about 5 tables, so it took awhile. Food came on a cheap disposable plate - sorted gave me a food court feel. Service used to be good prior to COVID. We were back in the area and I was anxious to go back to this place as it was very good the last time I was there. Unfortunately, it has changed alot. First off, the food is still delicious and just like how I remember it. The rest of the experience is what I wasn't too happy about. Last time we were here, you got the size bowl you requested from the server and you carried it to the line where you loaded up whatever proteins, vegetables, sauces, spices you wanted. From there, you took it to the chef who would cook it while you watched and the end product would be brought to your table for you. This time, you filled out a pre-printed page in check block style indicating what size bowl you wanted, which proteins, vegetables etc you wanted. The server took the form to the cook where they would load up your plate, cook it and the server brought out plates back. Yes paper plates this time. I'm glad the food is still good and the server was very pleasant as well as efficient. I understand that they do it this way in response to covid prevention but it really takes away the experience of going to a Mongolian barbecue restaurant. I only got 1 measly piece of a short rib. Like c'mon. Don't put it as a choice if you're only giving out 1 little piece. There was more grease on my plate than flavor which was a bummer. I ordered a medium chow mein with beef and veggies and it is fresh hot and tasty!! I got a medium since some Yelpers said the portion is huge if you want leftovers and they weren't wrong. Wow what a great staff! I have had a lot of experience with Mongolian BBQ joints in the past. Post COVID things are though for the interactive dining experiences. Regardless, everyone here was so cheerful and welcoming. They have adapted the typical buffet like experience to menu similar to the one you see in the local sushi joints. The portions were not super generous but were certainly plenty. I would let go so far as to call the food better than what you could get at any of the other Chinese restaurants in the area (except Panda) but I definitely recommend coming for the service. I noticed the sign was lit at the MG Grill. I remember the Mongolian Grill at the same location, and I was excited to see it open. We went in for dinner and found they kept the same concept of cooking your selections on the large grill. Essentially, you choose your raw meat, fish, vegetables, noodles, rice, seasonings, and sauces from their buffet. Then the chefs stir fry your favorite combo on a large round grill. It's fun and tastes great, because I chose the ingredients...haha The selection is very good; you can choose the size meal and fill your bowl for the chefs, or they have all you can eat if you are really hungry. read more

A friend and I ate here one evening before catching a show downtown. I had not dined here since the last change of ownership. As noted in other reviews, they no longer have a line where you choose your food items. Instead you mark off the items you want on a list. You can choose between a small ($12.95) or medium ($14.95) bowl. For the extra two dollars it is worth it to get the medium bowl as you can take leftovers home. The medium bowl is a very good sized portion. Then you can select things like garlic, egg (extra $1 charge), and degree of spiciness. You can select between various types of rice and noodles (up to two), meats and vegetables (no limit), and sauces (up to three). You can also choose appetizers for an additional charge. They collect your list, cook your food, and bring it to you. The service was fast, efficient, and friendly. The food tasted fantastic! It might have been a bit oily, but it didn't change how much I enjoyed my meal. The server brought a machine to our table to check us out and we were easily able to split the bill. The next day I went back with my husband as he wanted to try it after hearing me talk about the restaurant the night before. We had the egg rolls as an appetizer which were delicious. The food and service were wonderful again. My husband did find one shrimp in his food. He didn't ask for shrimp, but I did. My guess is it traveled from my food to his during cooking. Thankfully he doesn't have an allergy (the server was nice enough to ask if he did), but just a heads up for those who do have food allergies that this can happen.
