Spicy chicken teriyaki with noodles
Jessica P.

I ordered the junior spicy chicken teriyaki bowl with noodles and it was great. The chicken was cooked perfectly, so each bite was juicy and had a kick to it. The noodles were good, but definitely couldn't be eaten alone. The sauce from the chicken gave the noodles flavor. The veges were also a fan favorite. Definitely would try again with different protein/base options. Also, the restaurant was super clean and the guy who worked the front was really helpful and patient (we had 10 ppl in our party).

Pretty good food. I ordered this to go and the family is pleased with our order. I can say it's elevated Panda Express. It's tastier but a bit more pricey. It has real vegetables and the meat has more taste than the usual. I would like to try more of their other products since i heard a lot of good things about them!

I'm losing my mind ... Am I crazy ... I'm going MAD! Teriyaki Madness! Woooooo Yeaaaa Terry!! Spicy is hotter than expected and that's a good thang. 5/5 will certainly go back, once I'm sane again.

For a fast food place this place is killing the noodle bowl game. Reminds me of Yankee Noodles but way better and more flavorful. Everything is cooked to order, so your food is hot and fresh when you get it. Service is great. They will let you customize and build your own bowls. Seating is limited so I wouldn't recommend big groups here. This is a most try when in Reno. Definitely try the Mad Sauce as well if you like spicy food.

The supposed big bowl lol NOT... unless all you want is rice and noodles...
Katie M.

First of all, for almost $17 the "big bowl" was filled up with rice and noodles and the amount of chicken was ridiculous. Secondly I asked for veggies and got none. Thirdly the store was very dirty. I wish I had eaten there, I would have asked for a refund! And now I wish I had not tipped!!! Big BOOOO.

I had gotten an orange chicken bowl, with brown rice to which was delicious, the restaurant was clean and the service was fast, and friendly. Will be returning soon!

Rude Employee

On Friday night, the lady working up front was very rude. When we got there she did not greet us, and then before we even said a word she said "WAIT TIME WILL BE 30 MINUTES IF YOU WANT TO ORDER STILL" we said yes & she was visibly annoyed. They weren't going to close for another 45+ minutes & they already had the tables stacked up, so nobody could dine in. After we ordered we heard her say 3x "I'm supposed to be off already but nooo I'm still here" along with the staff in the kitchen yelling out how they are supposed to be off already. As if that's the customers fault? Speak to management if you have an issue with it. The same girl up front with the pink hair was laughing to herself, her pink tote bag on the floor. She often would touch her hair and remake her hairstyle without going to wash her hands again. And she would pack orders like that after constantly touching her hair. The food was ok. and the bathrooms were semi-clean.

I got the steak teriyaki with yakisoba noodles. It was decent. The steak was too rough to chew. Still want to try a different plate though.

One of my foodie coworkers recommended Kauboi Izakaya and I was intrigued. I much prefer izakaya…read morerestaurants to sushi restaurants. I love the tapas style dishes with flavor-packed bites. We came in around 7:00 and the place was packed. The hostess told us that it would be a 20 minute wait, so we stopped in next door to Sierra Nevada Chocolates for gelato. We didn't have the chance to finish our scoops before I got a phone call letting me know our table was ready. I love myself a good cold soba noodle dish and this one did not disappoint. Cold veggies and savory sauce tossed with nutty buckwheat noodles. I could have eaten an entire serving of this, but my bf was in town and we split our dishes. The rice tots were unique. Crispy rice and a sweet slightly spicy dragon sauce. I love tater tots, I love spicy tuna on crispy rice, so I knew the rice tots would be a good pick. The mushroom croquettes were my favorite of the night. The ooey gooey creamy rich filling was so flavorful and the mushrooms added a meatiness, while the panko coated crust was perfectly crisp. It was a texturally pleasing dish. The gyozas were tender little pockets with a flavorful shrimp filling and I'm a sucker for chili crisp. Another great dish. Our server was just okay. I couldn't tell if he was awkward or a pretentious hipster. Dishes came out one at a time, but with good timing. Basically, as soon as we were done another would arrive. Inside was dark, loud and crowded with a 90s playlist. We normally hate crowds and waiting for tables, but we both agreed to come back.

Came back with some friends from Vegas and we ordered the following:…read more Ordered: - Tokyo Fried Chicken Thigh and Spicy Mayo: This is so good! It's perfectly crisp 5/5 - Hamachi and Asian Pear and Aji Amarillo: fish is fresh, pear is good, and the cubed soy sauce all work surprisingly well together 5/5 - Ten layer Pork Tonkatsu and Black garlic: I love the hint of wasabi flavor, but you don't actually feel the spiciness of it. 5/5 - Chicken Skin Skewers: very crispy and thin on the outside and soft on the inside. 5/5 - Chicken Thigh Skewers: the chicken is not dry at all and the green onions helps bring out the flavor more 5/5 - Bone Broth ramen: pork is great, but the noodles, and broth tastes like a wonton soup . The egg yolk tasted different 3/5 - Battleship: the fries are thin and crispy which I love. The cheese balls and meat are good. The curry is good and it should come with a bowl of rice 5/5 - Gyoza: it's more a dumpling, a little too acidic but the meat is very flavorful 4/5 There was no wait this time on a Friday evening. I feel like the music is still too loud, but I enjoy the environment. The staff are always attentive and quick. This was a much better experience, than the first time I came here. However, the prices are still high for the amount of food served.

MIYABI is a gem in a city filled with nothing but mediocre AYCE sushi. They have a nice small menu,…read morecrafted perfectly for taste. It's just SO good, and if you prefer AYCE you may not like this place. I lived in Southern California for over a decade and this reminds me so much of the many amazing sushi spots there. My girlfriend was visiting out of town this past weekend and we popped in. I don't remember our servers name but he was friendly, and surprisingly it wasn't crowded for a Sunday afternoon. We shared: Hamachi Jalapeno Carpaccio - 5/5, so SO good. Miso - my girlfriend said she could clearly taste it was fresh and not some boxed junk. Crunchy Shrimp HR - 5/5 Fire Ocean (LONG ROLL) 5/5 I'd high recommend and am thankful we have this place.

Well slap my a** and call me Betty! Haha I have been eating all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi in Reno…read morefor over 10 years now and this is the first place I've been able to actually taste how good the fish actually is. To be clear, this is not an AYCE sushi restaurant, and there's other offerings besides sushi including ramen, salad, steaks, and various teriyaki plates. Apparently the food is hand selected by the owner, and helped prepared by the Japanese wife in the kitchen. From what I understand, the line cooks follow traditional Japanese ways including only being able to make a sushi roll after being a line cook for 5 years. As for the food itself, these are the things I've tried: -Maguro (tuna) sashimi: absolutely delightful -Sake (salmon) nigri: really good -Unagi (Eel) sashimi: my favorite nigri, the unagi was so tender it was falling apart. Best I've ever had. -Kazo sake: the combination of all the textures and flavors made this one of my top choices. Think of eating it like a deviled egg, if you're able to fit the whole thing in your mouth, you can taste all the flavors at once. If not, it's still tasty and you can taste the pieces individually! -Mt Rose roll: the textures and flavors were really good! -Fire Ocean roll: Absolutely delicious, and spicy! -Spicy garlic edamame: I wasn't impressed. No crisp on the garlic. The garlic, sweet chili sauce, and edamame felt like they were all cooked separately and combined on the serving plate. The garlic seemed like it was from a jar, and the sauce from the bottle. -Tempura banana with strawberry mochi: we devoured this, the chocolate sauce made the combination of flavors pleasant. I wish the tempura banana had a bit more going on - more crisp and less batter. -Wasabi: the wasabi actually tastes real and not like horseradish!!! It blends into the soy sauce beautifully and it's creamy. Drinks -Sapporo with the Junmai Ginjo sake: light and crisp, really yummy -Honey Citron tea- delightful Service While our service was generally pleasant, we did end up going at least 20 mins at one point without any word from our server while waiting on food. We didn't mind, and it was nice to not be rushed, but some others may want to feel more taken care of. My only slight complaint is that I didn't keep my chopsticks after dinner for our dessert, but we just ended up sharing the one pair we had. It would have been nice to be reminded to keep my chopsticks or to be offered another pair. Ambiance The space is relatively large and Miyabi expanded years ago to accommodate a larger dining area. The only slightly confusing part - I wish it was more clear which door you enter from. The only indicator is the Open sign on the left hand set of doors. All in all, I really enjoy and appreciate good quality food, and while you are paying the price for it here, it's justified. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

You have to make reservations because they prepare your ingredients with love and care. For night time reservations, it's like a speak easy kind of entrance, because the basement was already close, Sean, one of the owners, will pick you up and lead you to a secret elevator that descend to the basement. They aim for a zero-waste food, so all your orders will not go into waste (I will explain later). Each person has its own pot. For now, since they just opened recently, they have seven induction stoves --- that meant they can only take 7 person at a time. You will choose your protein and size of the pot, they have the smallest one, which they call chubi, then ninja, sho time, king kong and gorilla. I chose beef belly (a must try) and fish balls (this is not just a regular fish balls because it has a roe/fish eggs inside!) -- then they will teach you how to eat in a way you will experience the best shabu shabu experience. If you have left overs, don't worry, you can take it home -- they will prepare it for you so you can just reheat it and eat. (The soup was still so so good the next day!) The sake (rice wine) that they have had different flavors. It was my first time to taste one with flavors. I also tried its unfiltered sake, and oh boy, it brought me back the times when I had a dinner with Japanese consul (one of my perks as a former journalist) and my travel in China. Their cheesecake is also a must try! It was a guiltless cheesecake because it was low carbs and low calories. The owners, Yuki and Sean are very friendly, accommodating, and very mindful of the food -- they don't want the food to go into waste! I love the ambiance -- I had my birthday party there, and felt like we have the restaurant all to ourselves! It was intimate, clean with simple but functional interior. The last we dined in there (which was the third time) they are expanding and adding more inductions to accommodate the demand, 'cause people are coming back and referring this restaurant to friends. Update: My mom and I dined in there (few weeks before I deliver my baby) in April and they expanded their stoves. They can accommodate more than 20,I think, of diners.
